Wargame as a term was pretty well known back then and older Bryan Ansell, Priestly and co Wargames like LaserBurn or Reaper were just called Wargames
I think the WFB example was done purely for marketing, as this was coming out in the mid-80s, which was still in the middle of the D&D craze in the UK, so it was easier to sell it to stores by calling it an RPG

They will no longer produce miniatures holding weaponry of any sort and any old minis that have weapons will need to have those weapons filed off and put in a nearby bin before they are allowed to be used for tournament play.

I really genuinely think they're going to do something weird with Space Marines soon. Might be another redesign (extremis marines?), might be girl marines I'm not really sure what it's going to be but I am very sure they're going to do something.
Space Marines are almost back to where they were in 6th/7th. The roster is bloated and whatever new units they add in 11th are guaranteed to tread on the toes of existing units. If they want to keep on having two Space Marine release waves every edition GW will need to come up with a new gimmick for Space Marines soon and last time they needed to come up with a new gimmick we got Primaris.
I used to think they might be able to use plastic Horus Heresy as a speed bump but no, it dropped and they didn't slow down on Primaris one bit. If anything it could have accelerated it because it might give them an avenue to get rid of the old SM vehicles.
Same goes for marinelet resculpts, they've already converted most of them and after we get a primaris tactical squad, vanguard vets and maybe centurions in 11th the phase out will be finished. No we're not getting new devastators, enjoy your new aspect warrior speacial/heavy weapon squads
I always feel like I'm shitposting when I bring this up but I just really can't see any other road forward if they want to keep up the current rate of new releases for marines. It's not like they can just resculpt early primaris units because if resculpts sold as well as new things we wouldn't have got Primaris in the first place.
If they do another generic Space Marine release wave before the end of 10th then it's happening in 12th edition (2029), if they don't it's 13th.

I remember that. I think the idea was that if you were running a continous campaign thingies you could buy more things with points between battles or you'd get thingies chosen at random somehow.
