Since GW used 30K to bring Epic back, should they do the same with AOS and Warmaster?
Anonymous No.96330365
Epic is such a niche sell that its not even worth the thought. 30ks epic is around specifically for one person and that person alone.
That being said I wouldnt mind seeing aos try a hand at it. Its gotta be more creative than space marines ad nauseam.

AoS doesn't have large scale battles, it's a 32mm skirmish game. Sigmar players wouldn't be interested anyway, most of the appeal comes from the intricate models. There are entire factions that are just giant monster spam and nothing else, it isn't a real wargame.

>the game is about giant monsters, no way people would want a game mode that lets you actually spam those giant monsters or even include the way fucking bigger monsters that GW isn't making because they're too large for standard models
I hope no company ever hires you in their marketing department

typical GW cocksucker opinion

>AOS
Sure, I'll throw it under the bus. GW attention and money spent on it is less attention given to good games.
>Warmaster
I'm undecided.
One option is "no, they'd fuck it up".
The other is "FUCK NO, why would you even think it'd be a good idea!?

>warmaster but instead of being mass fantasy battles its just the same cancerous retardation of centerpieces that plagues AoS
All the more why AoS cannot get a Warmaster version. It completely misses the point of what the original set of rules is meaning to accomplish.
There's already a game about monsters and robots brutalizing each other, it's fucking Warmachine/Hordes, play that instead.

Warmaster is such a niche game that the entire potential audience is already playing it. A GW re-release just ruins it for the people who actually want to play it.
Newsflash, if the thought of sourcing your own models is enough to filter you from playing a game, you shouldn't be trying to reinvent it

Yes, because Warmachine/Hordes is the game about monsters you want. Trying to cram that into a game of commande and maneuver of large infantry and cavalry formations is a losing proposition.

Olde epic never had a standard size, the infantry were generally similar to each other but the vehicles and titans were at wildly different scales. All the newer Legions imperialis are set off the roughly 8mm scale the adeptus titanicus titans are at. Some sort of standardization was required, and frankly the more modern stuff looks nothing like some of the absolutely ancient epic models (and a lot of the old stuff looks like shit). The problem with modern 'epic' stuff is that it's solely 30k focused. By far the most popular epic scale GW game was Epic Armageddon (also the one edition were GW essentially gave the game to the community... Funny how that happens). Instead of giving the people an updated Epic Armageddon (they literally could have just ripped off the community rule set, like they did when they relaunched blood Bowl) and giving us modern plastics for marines, eldar, Orks, etc ... They made it 30k only and killed it in the cradle

People buy the monsters and centrepieces because they're big.
If you make them smol again it won't catch the BIGGER IS BETTER market, which is where the retard money is.

The people already playing it can continue to do so easily. You're just some hipster retard who wants his niche to stay niche. Like those 9th age faggots that got mad TOW instantly killed off their circlejerk the minute it wasn't the only game in town. (No, anything by Mantic doesn't count, stfu) That said OP is an idiot, aids of smegmar is not well loved, it's skub. If James relaunches Warmaster they'll be using the real setting.

AoS Warmaster is the only way we will ever see a Krundhall ship (background in the picture), because GW doesnt do Manta style resin blocks anymore, it would be worth it just for it

Honestly true, but considering it would probably be about flying stuff (Flying turtles, ships, dragons, Tzeentch towers) it might as well be a combined arms game.

I do believe that the structure of the Realms lands itself pretty god for some kind of a 4x game
