A couple of days ago me and some friends bought a box and played a draft, had a lot of fun, can you play free drafts for free in Arena?

If the ONLY thing you want to do is drafts then your kind of in a rough spot. To go infinite is rough. That being said even if you cant between the daily gold and even having an ok win rate means you can play quite a bit. Still if you intend to NEVER play any format but draft ya your a bit fucked. If you pay with real money its 10 bucks for a premier draft. Though even a meh win rate and the gems you get from playing it can work out to less than 5 even for a mediocre player. Your call if thats worth it or not. finally got a good new jump in deck that's good and fun. the biggest issue is it can sometimes be slow/hard to get the plains walker out and the crow fucking sucks because it mills 2 cards to enter and 2 cards when it dies and I don't have any good recursion from the graveyard. liliana, vampire gourmand and vampiric ritual let me card draw, 4 straight removal cards, it can remove non creature non lands and that voidborn dude wins matches by himself with his damage from dead creatures

I've had someone clock me with Odin despite going +10k, they really outplayed me there. Well deserved win.

EoE draft sucks so fucking bad man. I know every card in the format, I know every strategy, I do my best to draft good cards and good synergies, I rarely misplay, and I still wind up going 2-3 and 3-3 more often than getting 5+ wins. First ever time drafting Aetherdrift, didn't look up a single card, don't even know what cards are in this set since no one really uses any of them except the Wagon and I trophy.

As a new player how bad it is to use my wildcards in lands first? Thinking of Fabled Passage here first thing.
The only decent deck Ive made so far is a standard landfall monogreen (and a version with a splash of red, with Tannuk and Sabotender) as I got many Tifas and Traveling Chochobos from Jump-In.
Or should I just focus on w/e Im missing from the "real" deck? Im not too keen in using my few mythic wildcards yet so I'd be missing Bristly Bill for one.

Draft from sets that have lands first, so right now you should be drafting EoE for the shocklands. And any time a quick draft comes up with dual lands or passage do that. I have all the shocklands and haven't spent a single WC on them when I was worried I'd have to buy all 20. Now the sucky part is, I have no idea if fabled passage is going to ever come back, so once it rotates out in a year and a half it might just be wildcards wasted unless you plan to play alcheshit formats. So think if you really like landfall and want to continue playing landfall decks or other decks that would use fabled passage, then go for it, but if not just stick with other fetchlands for now.

I've been playing him and typically I can cast him both turn two with protection and turn three unless my opponent removes my turn one mana dork, even then that's one less removal for my commander if they remove my turn one play. Trying to get Ketramos to work in BO3. Started leaning into the exile aspect from the meta decks I saw online, but I am finding Unholy Annex to be more of a hinderance than a benefit. With how much damage people are cranking out so fast I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on alternatives. Ignore the 4 The Ends, was just experimenting.

I also will probably bring back 2 charms for them like the original had. Some other problems I have been having is rarely do I have enough in the yard quickly enough for Feed the Cycle, and most of the time can't even get full use of Cover Up.

I have been tinkering around with this deck concept on and off sense outlaws of thunder junction. The idea is to have such a high critical mass of creatures in the main deck that my graveyard fillers consistently generate more potential varmints. the synergy between snarling gore hound and avenger of the fallen/rise of the varmints feels to me like it could be powerful.

The raw truth is sometimes you just lose and even perfect play cant save you. The goal is to minimize times where that happens. Theres a reason even the best drafters only have a winrate of about 65ish%. There's no difference in that rule whether it's commander or not. Typically for DFC they put the stronger side on the back so people can't just flicker shit for easy bombs. I think the only main exception is the zendikar 2.0 MDFC lands, and they only got away with that because there aren't great ways to flicker lands.
