Current deck is basically just a modified edhrec list I picked up for testing purposes.
I know, I know. The worst kind of netdecking. But hear me out. I don't play black. I've got next to no black cards in my collection, since I almost exclusively buy singles. And frankly, I don't know where to even start looking for cards to synergize with the deck.
I've got a few discard synergies, just because the deck can draw enough cards that discarding to hand size gives me 2-4 discards each turn. Plus Gix's ability once I hit 7 mana gives me a way to discard 10+ cards at once.
I leaned more into cheap 1cmc flyers and deathtouchers over 2cmc shadow creatures, because with deathtouchers the stompy players don't want to swing into me while they're untapped (summoning sickness) and the token players hopefully don't have any flying tokens. Though from what I've seen, the token players are the biggest threats to me, because they're more than happy to trade a few 1/1 plant tokens for the deathtouchers I had to draw and spend mana on, in the cases where I am forced to swing at them.

Yeah there's very few cards in the prefon that support lifegain/lifeless compared to toughness-matters. It's kind of interesting to how how the Dragonstorm precons each have a humanoid and a dragon as potential commanders but lean into different ones (Temur and Sultai leaning into their dragons, Mardu and Abzan leaning into their humanoids)

Bloomburrow Karn, Dragonstorm Elspeth) that look exactly the same as the normal card. I want to try to build Vivi as a commander for my local league, but they have a ban on infinite combos as well disallowing proxies.
The issue I'm running into is that due to his powerlevel most competently put together lists for Vivi are CEDH or wannabee CEDH which automatically rules out most of their wincons for my purposes.

Should I go spellslinger with lots of 1 drop cantrips? control? I'm not really sure what part of his ability would be best.

"Greedy" isn't an EDH thing, it started in 60-card. It basically means a mana base running a lot of powerful nonbasics like fetches, shocks, tron/locus, that kind of shit. They're "greedy" because 4-5 color decks need to have shittons of power lands like that to not get color screwed every game.
Blood Moon is an essential card in higher power formats because otherwise everything would be bulldozed by 5c goodstuff. Same reason Golos was banned.

Sitting down with randoms has become an exhausting experience. People start at precons and build out from there, the problem being every modern strategy is a value pile.

The guy on Ureni plays his commander and gets a heap of dragons. The guy on Aminatou miracles into expensive enchantment after expensive enchantment. The player with Tidus is going wide and making a bunch of 10/10s.

The decks are "focused" if the focus is generic value and big boards. The second you play a board wipe these strategies immediately crumble without having made any real impact. And if you don't board wipe they just run away and close the game.

It's exhausting because either I'm playing a deck that incidentally slaughters these strategies, or I'm playing something that gets eaten alive by them.

I often jokingly said to a friend that all my decks are about speed and draw, and he proceeded to build a pretty cool Jenova deck that absolute fucks a lot of my decks. He also won't shut up about how he built the deck after what he perceives as my deck building philosophy.

White has a weird problem when it comes to commander.
In the early years of magic, white's thing was mostly... shitty life gain, or damage reduction. It was otherwise a generalist color that did nothing in particular well. It just has a long history of being bad, and because of that the supply of white cards from a long period of the game's history are bad.
A lot of what makes it good in recent years has been a concerted effort to make it more playable in commander, but those cards tend to be printed specifically in commander products, for obvious reason, which means that that is the only source of those cards, other than maybe bonus sheet cards in packs which for all intents and purposes don't increase the supply by enough to make a difference. Take Teferi's protection, for example. Literally every deck running white wants to play this card, and its printings include:
-Original commander deck printing
-Several promos that didn't increase supply enough to be notable
-2 secret lairs
-The List
-Double Masters, which is basically the only time it was reprinted in a quantity enough to increase the supply at all
