In actual cannon Curze and fulgrim where close during the great crusade, Curze seeing him as mentor. Curze was having a lot of mental issues from constantly being assaulted by nightmares of what would become of the galexy during the heresy and what came after. Fulgrim after hearing Curze confess this instead of easing him like maybe sanguinis might instead he blabbed about it to Dorn like it was gossip. Dorn being the autistic fuck he was decided now was the time accuse Curze while Curze was spiraling into mental breakdown and discussing destroying Nostramo to nightlord inner circle (sevitar).

Dorn having the social tact of a brick wall decided to chastise Curze in a argument as Curze was having a full blown mental break down until Curze snapped and mauled Dorn nearly killing him and weeping over his near corpse. The imperial fists imprisoned him but he easily broke out and got back to the night lords and that's when they went to blow up Nostramo.

Basically Curze having a mental breakdown was fulgrim and dorns fault but him going full heretic was Horus. During the heresy Curze surrendered to sanguinis wanting him to drag him back to the emperor for judgement but sanguinis decided to cast him into space in a stasis capsule.

Curze wasn't always doomed to fall it was mostly his shit bag brothers and the emperor not realing him back in even after Nostramo was destroyed. Curze was too useful to be punished like lorgar he was just isolated which was the worst possible thing to do to someone spiraling like he was.

Sevitar only had that conversation about konrad not trying any other way deep into the heresy while they where fighting the dark angles. Way too little too late. Sevitar only pushed back on Curze long long after he could have course corrected. Sevitar was absolutely complicit in the destruction of Nostramo and curze's downfall. He didn't stop Curze from destroying the homeworld and he didn't stop him from joining chaos.
