Babes in general became rare in ttrpgs because they were an obvious step towards magical realms. Our current understanding of pronography makes us understand that different people have different tastes and they can all be taken to a point that is disgusting to others. So you have to imagine your own babes on your own time instead of forcing people to hear about your favorite tags.

You could also consider that the diversity of porn moved us from just attractive women being enough to some concept that makes them erotic. Power relationships (dominating, being dominated), context (places or scenarios where sex wouldn't be normal), different taboos (age, closeness, hate). Just having a babe is kinda lame. But making a relationship with the babe sexual in a special way is just magical realms bullshit.

As a company looking at a product lineup I could see dragon age being seen as the "heavy" RPG in the lineage of baldurs gate and neverwinter nights so a tie in TRPG would make a degree of sense. Pretty cheap thing to do as well, easily covered in the marketing budget.

Mass effect was turned into a competitor to gears of war (see the transition from 1 to 2) with tacked on dating "mechanics" (which would go on to become an obligatory feature in RPGs) so it filled a different more normalfag market segment. This is all in the era of "we want the call of duty audience" and "press button for awesome" mind you so it's all very dumbed down to begin with, but talking relatively here.

There are a few reasons. The first is that there are many primitive worlds that don't have blasters and other technology. Second, various planets have different law levels where one might ban guns but be fine with knives other edged weapons. Various cultures also may put extra emphisis on using swords. Third, is that starship crews and pirates prefer them when conducting boarding operations so they don't accidentally punch a hole in the ship when fighting. The last point is debatable given that the ships hulls can withstand micrometorites, but hey, rule of cool! Imperial Marines are trained to use cutlasses in space combat.

The order was wrong. It should've been 2, 1 and 3. ME2 felt like a weird side plot stretched into a whole game where the stakes were much lower than the main quest. We should've started off with humanity expanding into space and colonies going missing while the council does nothing. You get tasked with finding stuff out, discover the Collectors and at the end get hints at something bigger behind them. It'd lead to a natural ramp-up as the series progresses. It'd even be cool to work with Saren for a while, even if he treated us like crap, so when it's revealed he's a traitor and his ship is a Reaper, it'd have more of an impact than starting the whole series with him betraying us and we needing to find proof against him. Once Sovereign is stopped, then we can be told the Reapers have back-up plans and oh lawd, they coming.

There's the offchance that an immediate continuation of the story where they picked the destroy ending (the only one that makes any sense to continue from) and had you explore the aftermath in a semi post-apocalyptic galaxy could have recovered some goodwill if it was any good, but they didn't do that and instead kept quiet and allowed the bad blood to fester.
