>Playing ESO and I thought tips in the style of elder scrolls loading screens might be a good way to sneak a bit of world building in when I don't have a decent image to post on occasion.
It’s a good way to establish the basics of an idea, and once you’ve got the basics down it’s much easier to flesh it out further.

>Funnily enough this is basically the Empresses plan as I was thinking it as well.
Yeah, I think we talked about it at one point.

>I do wonder who beyond the empires borders would buy from them. But I suppose there will always be someone.
Hyrule is trying to fly under the radar, so they might put some effort into convincing others to trade with them. If that doesn’t pan out, there are always trading clans that would be willing to buy minerals from Hyrule under the table.

>Though thinking about it the empires probably lousy with arrays of various kinds. big and small.
I was thinking the same thing. Arrays are something that mortals can learn to use, so Hyrule would have a lot of research and development put into them, and array crafter would be a common profession.

>Tip: The first Goldenwood tree sprouted from the ground on which Hylia stood when she ascended to divinity. Goldenwood is very receptive to enchantments and arrays, and with a basic alchemical treatment hardens to become as strong as steel while retaining its usual weight, making it a popular choice of building material. Today, all paper in Hyrule is made from Goldenwood.

Fair I could see there be some hesitant trading. With some convincing from hyrule... I pity the Hylian diplomat though.

>I was thinking the same thing. Arrays are something that mortals can learn to use, so Hyrule would have a lot of research and development put into them, and array crafter would be a common profession.
Definitely, its a way for a cultivator or a crafter in general to leave a mark long term potentially to. So I could see them being popular.

>The first Goldenwood tree sprouted from the ground on which Hylia stood when she ascended to divinity. Goldenwood is very receptive to enchantments and arrays, and with a basic alchemical treatment hardens to become as strong as steel while retaining its usual weight, making it a popular choice of building material. I like this one aside from all paper necessarily being made from goldenwood. I could see it being heavily preferred but to make all paper out of it would probably require replacing a lot of preexisting trees into goldenwood ones. It'd harm the diversity of hyrules ecology a bit overall if all paper was made from it.
Somewhat relatedly I wanted there to end up being some magical tree growing in Talfein eventually. (The fief) once venti gets it.

The wood itself is an odd mixture of sacred and mundane. Sacred for obvious reasons, mundane because Hylia wanted it to become a part of daily life, not something that was shut away and treated as something only the worthy could have. The end result is Goldenwood is used as the primary material of both priceless treasures in the Imperial Palace and the table in a peasant’s shack.

>I was thinking of having venti and midna visit here in the second stage to obtain just a scrap of Time essence. It'd be a good place to visit.

That does sound in line with the image for hylia thats been painted. Consider it "Canon" for whatever this is.
She is the prime example for the Hylian cultivator

>The one risk is others will have the same idea, so you might find plenty of Time essence has already been harvested from there.
True. I was thinking perhaps its such a sacred place and special that it produces small amounts of time essence ambiently. But even then I imagine its a obvious place to go so perhaps its been disallowed by the temple's keepers. It might still be cool to visit though anyway. And maybe it could point the way to somewhere you could get some.
I like to think its not really in the capital but a ways away on a plateau potentially sort of like breath of the wild. Some less developed area thats tried to keep a air of naturalness and serenity to the area.

So, game-plan. Travel back in time to the 700s AD, dismantle the ORT Cloud and a few nearby solar systems for raw material and turn it into a giant space-warping apparatus. This machine will functionally shrink the Solar System down to the size of an eye-ball by warping the space around it to fit within such an area. I'll then build a sphere around that eye-ball sized area to contain the solar system and freeze time for everything in the sphere, which I'll attach to a necklace I'll be wearing at all time.

Then just, have fun space adventures for ten years.

I could see that. Its a lesson venti will probably have to learn a bit. But its a good one.

>It’d make a good place for you to visit on your pilgrimage.
Yeah, thinking on it. I think the pilgrimage would be good right at the beginning of the fourth stage. After defeating a demon lord and narrowly avoiding having his body and soul utterly obliterated I could see venti being a bit more, philosophical and or trying to seek wisdom in a way he usually wouldn't.
So it'd be a newly minted immortal essentially travelling around Hyrule on foot until he encounters the disguised Hylia.

Maybe part of what enables you to win is your Air affinity means the demon’s wind attacks don’t have much of an effect on you, and you can even pull Air essence out of him when you focus.

>I could see venti being a bit more, philosophical and or trying to seek wisdom in a way he usually wouldn't.

>Maybe part of what enables you to win is your Air affinity means the demon’s wind attacks don’t have much of an effect on you, and you can even pull Air essence out of him when you focus.
I was thinking something along similar lines. They share a affinity which lets venti resist it a little better. Combine that with Venti being a tri cultivator and being more then the sum of his parts cultivation wise. I think it'd be enough to squeak out a win. Probably have the breakthrough to the fourth stage during the fight.

>Makes sense, nearly dying and ascending to a new state of being are both events that could cause Venti’s personality to change somewhat.
Definitely. From questions about his own humanity (Well hylianity? at that point), to just the sheer amount he's changed in the 700 and change years it took to get that far., The scale of a immortals life, To... whatever it is in the future he still can't see even as his vision becomes clearer in the realm of dreams.

1000 CP - Horrid Vigour

“We set it on fire. It lived. We cut off its head. It lived. We fell to it, one by one. It lives.”

The mightiest beasts of Duskmourn rarely truly die. As the daydreams of Valgavoth, their existence recurs. And now, so does yours- your body has grown as resilient and regenerative as the mightiest of Cellarspawn. No loss of organs or limbs will reduce your combat effectiveness by the slightest amount, and no amount of damage will stop you from fighting. Any damage that is not immediately lethal will be simply ignored for as long as you continue fighting, and even outside of combat, it will take hours for the pain to set in, nevermind the actual consequences of the damage. In addition to this, you heal extremely quickly when you aren’t moving, with an hour of rest being enough to heal from half your body being burned off. Even, should anyone bring you down, your regeneration will continue regardless; should they not finish the job and destroy your corpse even further, they’ll find that in a day or so, it might not be all that much of a corpse anymore.

I have a couple more questions about your worldbuilding if you don't mind.

Since you're going with a somewhat different cosmological structure for your setting, what are you going to do with Nothingness? You've mentioned demons so are they the same demons as in Triune or more normal demons? What about the Deity advancements, such as the one for going into Nothingness to get a Divine Name?

Also since Hyrule is ruled by Zelda the Second, is she a Deity or a Grand Immortal? You did mention before that the world Hyrule is in would be roughly analogous to an Immortal Universe, so are the Triune Deities mainly hanging out elsewhere?

I believe the idea is they’re more normal demons.

>Also since Hyrule is ruled by Zelda the Second, is she a Deity or a Grand Immortal?
Grand Immortal. She could have become a god a long time ago, but she remains so as to better rule the Empire.

>You did mention before that the world Hyrule is in would be roughly analogous to an Immortal Universe, so are the Triune Deities mainly hanging out elsewhere?
Yes, the idea is gods don’t fit in the mortal realm. They can look in and create avatars, but focusing down to the level of a mortal when your existence is as vast as a god’s is hard. This is why the gods mostly talk to cultivators who have reached the Immortal stage, their existences are greater and so gods can focus on them more easily.

Thanks for the answers.

I remember you were going on about having the Midna expy as a waifu, which makes me wonder if you were thinking of fleshing out marriage traditions for Hyrule, as well as things such as whether monogamy or polygamy is more common.

Also since the Triune methods are very open ended and designed to let the cultivator develop their own things, is creating new artifacts, plants, spells, and such a common practice? For example the fancy Goldenwood you and the other anon were discussing earlier. I mean it does take a lot of effort and time to actually create new techniques and spells and the like or at least that's the vibe I got from the Triune Methods doc Nyanko wrote, but with 8 million years I'd guess there's plenty of inventors even if they aren't common. Which does beg the question of what the "tech" level in Hyrule is like. Personally I like the idea of creating entire elaborate systems through a merger of Elemental Essence, Ki, and Mind spells to do stuff like creating a custom form of lifeforce to spread around and increase people's lifespan, which could then be tied to a specially designed tree that accumulates lifeforce by converting ambient energy into it and grows fruits that give a massive amount of extra lifespan to those who eat the fruits, which would obviously be mainly useful for those at the first stage, or maybe the second or third stages if a cultivator hasn't bother making themselves ageless for whatever reason.

Although I guess that kind of elaborate creation would be difficult IRL to find much inspiration from and thus wouldn't be written much into the setting.

>I remember you were going on about having the Midna expy as a waifu, which makes me wonder if you were thinking of fleshing out marriage traditions for Hyrule
Venti Anon and I talk about a lot of ideas, that’ll probably come up at some point.

>as well as things such as whether monogamy or polygamy is more common.
That would be a case by case thing. If you love three women and they’re all fine with sharing you, go right ahead, but if you love just one woman, don’t feel like you have to keep several others around.

>Also since the Triune methods are very open ended and designed to let the cultivator develop their own things, is creating new artifacts, plants, spells, and such a common practice?
More than common, it’s actively encouraged. Creation is seen as a virtue, from a Grand Immortal forging a mighty artifact to a peasant child in a small village using a basic textbook on arrays to create an array to help keep the house during the summer.

>Which does beg the question of what the "tech" level in Hyrule is like.
Renaissance level, but with some outliers – Hyrule’s focus on making life better for mortals and the prevalence of arrays means they’ve also got magical smartphones.

>Personally I like the idea of creating entire elaborate systems through a merger of Elemental Essence, Ki, and Mind spells to do stuff like creating a custom form of lifeforce to spread around and increase people's lifespan, which could then be tied to a specially designed tree that accumulates lifeforce by converting ambient energy into it and grows fruits that give a massive amount of extra lifespan to those who eat the fruits
Interesting idea, but overcomplicated. Divine Delusion can deage people before the end of the first stage, and Soul Compass does it soon after. Arrays that can make someone young again are also a thing, and their use is available to mortals.

Huh, I thought that kind of thing only happened at the second stage, that's good to know.

Makes sense that creation is encouraged.

On the topic of lifespan, does non-Triune cultivation take longer than Triune cultivation to reach immortality? Most xianxia have a lot more escalation before they reach Immortality proper, but Triune cultivation already reaches it when a cultivator's power reaches the scale of whole planets.

Then again I'm not sure if you're gonna flesh out non-Triune cultivation much, so it might not be a particularly relevant question.

Non-Triune cultivation isn’t something Venti Anon and I have talked about, so all I can offer is that under the Triune Scriptures, you become immortal (as opposed to just being able to deage yourself) at the end of the third stage for Divine Delusion, for God Body your aging slows as you progress until you reach a point where you heal aging faster than it can happen somewhere in the third stage, and for Soul Compass I’m not really sure, but Nyanko’s idea was that you’d become immortal around the third stage in each path so SC presumably does that as well.

There was a terrible light. There was a terrible noise. There was a terrible place. When you came back to the world of the living, there was a monster hiding inside your skin. It was everything you wanted to be, when you were at your worst. A savage beast, freed from the anxiety and weakness. A malevolent mastermind, who can finally show them all. A thing of might, so much all the world felt like a puny thing for you to break whether with your fist or a plot or some strange power. But the reality is everybody's got a little bit of ugly in them, and you've learned to live with yourself. You can use that strength to fight villains while minimizing the damage, or maybe you've cracked a few cures to diseases everyone once thought were going to be a part of life forever. Being a monster who can shatter mountains doesn't mean you can't be a hero. Even if the people fear you. Especially then. You know what it's like, to be so very small, hoping the angry giant doesn't notice you. So maybe you can forgive them for it, and that matters. These acts of mercy, whether aimed at a small-time crook or the nemesis who dedicated everything to tearing you down, change things. Maybe they become a hero like you, or maybe they live a good life, but you can be confident they'll no longer walk the sinister path. For those who haven't erred, acts of heroism will inspire them to better themselves. Even if man is less good than he imagines or wants himself to be right now, maybe we can change that one day.

Come to think of it, regarding the demons, they're just supposed to be generic evil enemies or something, just without the massive existential baggage, right?

What about demonic beasts that are fairly common in xianxia, IE animals cultivating and gaining human forms? They would definitely be a thing for non-Triune cultivators, but from what I recall Nyanko never actually included that kind of thing in his setting. Are you changing that? It does kinda feel like Hyrule would make it standard to uplift everything in their territory

They call them Spirit Beasts, and yes, they exist. The idea of deliberately uplifting animals hasn’t come up, but a regular animal can eat mystically potent objects (likely plants) to become a Spirit Beast, and if they eat enough to achieve human intelligence I expect they’d be welcomed into society. Uplifting everything probably wouldn’t happen, but I could see there being more potent regions where everything is a Spirit Beast, and farms where all the animals have been made into Spirit Beasts.

Knowing this will happen, you'd probably intentionally designed your mind to run as efficiently as possible on normal human brain/the Original Mainframe hardware, so I'm wondering how much of an intelligence boost that would be?

I feel like having more computational resources would lead to superlinear returns on intelligence, so if you get the Enhanced Processors/Quantum Computing perks your base intelligence could be substantially better than that as well.

Number One + Bloodbending makes me the best water bender alive, with blood bending on par with Amon.

Circus Freak means I can dodge basically any attack considering I can now do like 5 backflips in the air. It also gives me the super op martial art where I can paraylze people with a few strikes of my fists.
Badass and Icy Hot means I won't lose my composure in dangerous situations.

Slowing down entropy. But non triune cultivators are basically a net neutral for them. They don't have to deal with the nothingness demons. I could see hyrule only really considering the nothing originated demons "True" demons.

Alright well I'm spit balling here and its not really a refinement to improve on the cultivator but. I was considering (Having some trouble thinking of tribulations/refinements that'd improve the taker a bit.)
. What if tribulations at least in the mortal stage are sort of created by the cast-off mortality a cultivators shed to get to that point? It coalesces together to create a sort of pseudo-demon connected to the cultivator at the peak of the first stage. And hangs around throughout the rest of the mortal realm. Trying to test its cultivator. Tempting them or trying to get them to give up. Painting what there pursuing and themselves in the most negative light as possible.

The first tribulation would essentially be the third in the world doc. Showing the cultivator basically outliving everyone they know and love as the world changes around them. And the cultivator having to resolve to keep living on and making connections and building despite that to succeed it.

I’ve got an idea, but it would conflict with your idea in both the stage it happens in and the function it has.

There are the beginnings of a solid idea here, but it needs some more work. Why would Hylia and the Golden Goddesses want people to face such a challenge?

I think some of them are cool but others I don't like so much. Like immediately getting locked away for basically millions of years when a immortals life before that point is probably still sub a million. And the second stage feels a little trapish to me with it lulling people in to relax a bit. Though I get the idea a little bit.
I'm not opposed to some of them but I'm still seeing if I can work this into a better shape one way or another.

so my first thought is perhaps maybe it helps give closure to mortal life? If your forced to embrace these truths on the onset or early on. It might make life in general for a immortal (Well pseudo mortal/cultivator) a little easier to adjust. But honestly I'm not sure.

Here’s the basic idea, which I’ll probably tweak some more for my own writings.
>The First Refinement: The Ritual of Rebirth
>To become a cultivator is to dedicate yourself to a greater pursuit. Thus, to prepare for the neverending journey, one must formally cast off their old selves and embrace their new identity. This Refinement is unusual in that it is carried out by the cultivator themselves, and may be performed at any time after they start cultivating. To carry it out, the cultivator must fill a vessel with water, some of which must be taken from each of the three great rivers (if their water is unavailable for whatever reason, a substitute may be made via simple alchemical means), and then dissolve five Heart Containers in the water. Additional Heart Containers may be dissolved if the cultivator wishes, and the effects of any such additional Heart Containers used in the ritual will have their effects doubled. After this, a final alchemical mixture is added to the water, and then the cultivator climbs in, speaks their name aloud, and submerges themselves. They must remain underwater for ten seconds before surfacing, and when they do they will find themselves an entirely new person, with a new name on their lips. Body, face, mannerisms, and even race may be changed.

I don't write stories, but I've found myself writing glorified essays on how my travels have gone, sometimes writing out a scene or two if it's important. Specifically because I like to plug my jumper character sheet and a summary of the "story" on his current jump into grok and then either roleplay or get some more story beats. [Fate/Grand Order redux]

Grail and Elodie sat opposite to each other in Chaldea’s canteen, the former’s eyes almost literally burning a hole in the latter. There was a time when Elodie would have mustered the righteous contempt to raise her Bounded Field, or let fly a Phoenix Force Falcon, or just stab something, but after the intellectually and physically taxing events of the last few days all she could do was silently raise her mug of coffee in surrender.

“Look, I know this is-“ she began. “I hate you” interrupted Grail. “I know, I know. All I’m saying is that-“

“You’re a conniving little brat who plays the victim while playing other people against each other”, said Grail, looking out the window at the not quite bleached Earth as she started to file her fingernails. “And you let other people fight your battles for you before you stab them in the back”

“That’s not fair. I gladly risked time dilated imprisonment in one of your black holes to take you down with me when you tried to destroy India. I fought you for a month without rest at the Azure Galaxy while survivors evacuated” said Elodie with quiet venom.

Grail stirred her coffee. “Yes, and? I was listing all the reasons why I RESPECT you more than Wonder Woman in spite of all that”. She sighed, taking a sip. “No, I hate you because you’ll always be his favourite”

“…oh” said Elodie, thrown. “Well…If we’re being honest? I always thought one day I’d have to save Anon from you”

Grail laughed mirthlessly. “You’re the one who spent thousands of years trying to kill him…and you think I’M anything but happy to be his weapon. Out of every wrong in the greater multiverse, his greatest betrayer just HAD to be the one exception to his wrath”

“H-hey. Don’t sell yourself short, he let you hold the Equation didn’t he?”

“…true”

Alarms blared in Chaldea as another Singularity was forming. “Mashu Kyrielight, reporting for duty-oh, i-is this a bad time?” she asked, sensing the tension in the air. Behind her, a very clumsy President of Earth was getting stuck in the doorway and swearing bloody vengeance on Chaldea’s contractor architects.

“Not at all” drawled Grail, getting up and cracking her neck. Throwing a baleful look at Elodie, she said “If you’re going to be a fixture, you might as well be a useful one. It has been a long week. We’re dealing with this. WITHOUT bothering our master”

“Sure but-deal with this?” asked Elodie, confused. “I thought you guys were worsening the Singularities on purpose to sabotage the Human Order or something”

“It’s a case by case basis thing” explained Mashu. “Senpai prefers boots on the ground to recruit potential comrades, or resources. We herald the cauterising purity made in asnwer to the Human Order’s gangrenous apoptosis”

“Aw, you memorised my propaganda drafts!” said Grail, ruffling Mashu’s hair. “Attagirl”

“…so are we just Rayshifting in or-“ asked Elodie as a Boom Tube erupted. “No. We are, in fact, using a far more technologically superior means of accessing displaced realities” said Grail smugly.

“I SEE. And we’re NOT going to use the typical traits of a Boom Tube to suddenly scale up to New God sizes and just pick up the planet like a marble-“ rambled Elodie as all the usual steps of investigating a Singularity were skipped in favour of just arriving at the crisis zone.

“Not a thing anymore in my time. And even if it was I wouldn’t. I like fighting dirty, but I like FIGHTING more” said Grail as a horde of screaming Illyas ran up to them

Elodie wondered for a second if she was going to have to stop Grail from massacring innocent Ilyas, when suddenly all of them went floating into a big ball. UUUU-Olga had forced herself into the party.

“Ha HA haha ha HA ha!” she laughed atonally, “NEVER fear my citizens, with my superior might I’ll be able to deal with these unsightly rebels with a snap of my fingers!”

“Hooray! The sweet mercy of death!” said the nearest Illya.

“Or I can…save them…uh, voters what should I do?” she asked.

“Well, I vote we drop a Genesis Box on this mess and reduce it to a bag full of QP” said Grail sourly.

“I vote we investigate further” said Elodie cautiously, with Mashu timidly nodding behind her. Grail scowled. “Yes, that’s one reason he wants to keep you around. More lateral thinking. Fine. Lead the way, PRINCESS”

UUUU-Olga declared she was ready to carry out the will of the people while the people followed either Grail or Elodie’s lead (it was not clear who was actually in charge) to locating the source of the Singularity. At it’s centre, it appeared that Miyu had changed her Saint Graph. And also gone mad with isolation, become the leader of a cult, and contacted an extradimensional reservoir of milk-like magical energy she was converting into Ilyas with which she intended to repopulate the sorta-Bleached Earth with.

“Ahhh welcome, my faithful…ENLIGHTENED… CULTURED…brethren” she babbled madly. “Have you heard the good news about our Lady and Savior Ilya?”

“N-no?” said Elodie as Grail frantically tried to discourage her from engaging with a gag character. Miyu took this opportunity to start ranting about how being told to go on holiday for her mental health was bad for her mental health. And about Ilya.

“…so, what do you do now?” asked Elodie. “Violence” said Grail grimly. Elodie held out her hands for a time out. “Let’s all be reasonable here. I think…I THINK I can get Ms. Edelfelt to see why she might be, uh. Wrong”

“Haha, what? Did I just catch you disrespecting the holy name of ILYA?!” raved Miyu.

“But I’ll need some help” added Elodie, “from all of you”

Mashu, who was secretly happy for everyone to be friends again, eagerly contributed by summoning a shadow Servant of Chloe in the midst of Elodie’s Noble Phantasm. UUUU-Olga, who just wanted to be liked, high handedly and grandiosely supplied the mana (“Presidential-class NUCLEAR mana!”). And Grail, who Elodie couldn’t help but notice by now seemed to be testing her, stood aside and acted moody but silently started wiping black Grail Mud off herself and flinging over her shoulder when Elodie actually asked for some.

The darkened magical energy went brr as it touched the conduit to the Ilyaverse, percolating together like delicious chocolate milk. Suddenly many more Ilya-based Saint Graph magical energy signatures appeared, and forming into the Ilya subspecies known as Chloe.

“Hi everyone, it’s me! Chloe von Einzbern, the incarnate magical energy of Ilya!” said all the Chloes at once.

“ILYAS FOR THE ILYA GOD” screamed Miyu, “ILYAS FOR THE ILYA THRONE!!!”

“And I am also” said the Chloes, leaning forwards, “The Calamity of Editing”. Miyu froze in place. “E-eh?”

“Miyuuuu” said the Chloes with eerie synchronicty, “have you been working on your manga? Your MANGA, Miyu? How can you call yourself a MANGAMAKER if you haven’t even written a single CHAPTER in all the weeks you’ve been here?”

“W-well, y’see, I’ve been distracted by…?

“By…?

“…Ilya”

With a sudden messy implosion, all the Chloes fused together into a GIANT SWIMSUIT WEARING CHLOE which due to it’s connection to the Ilyaverse also had a giant Ilya hanging out of it’s torso. The CALAMITY OF EDITING stomped around punching the Ilya sprouting out of it like a punching bag, smashing through the ritual implements of the cult and destabilising the Singularity.

“Waaah I’m so sorry for everything I see now Ilya can be a force of great destruction as well as hugs and cuddles bweeeeh save me Chaldeawomen” wailed Miyu.

“And now all the local crimes against ontology are amalgamated into one place, we shoot them” explained Elodie, “all at once”

Grail turned to Elodie with a look of contemptuous disbelief. “THIS was your plan? Crossing the streams? Really?!”

“Hell yeah! You in or what?” demanded Elodie, raising her crystal. With a snarl of disgust, Grail let fly a twin pair of Omega Beams just as a golden blade of Lumen magic, a blast of stabilised space-time from Mashu and a presidential black hole hit THE CALAMITY OF EDITING at the same time. A wave of chocolate milk washed over the entire Singularity.

“Oh hey, you guys solved the Singularity before I got there” I said casually, waiting outside as it collapsed. “And I see you’ve both SUCCESSFULLY recruited several new Servant Saint Graphs while working together, yes?”

“Yes, Master” chorused everyone dutifully except Elodie who said “Yes, Anon” instead.

“We don’t have to talk about what happened in there. We are NOT in fact going to talk about what happened in there. We are, instead, going to learn a valuable lesson about teamwork making the dream work”

“Your will be done” said Grail passionately, “with NO further betrayals”. I patted the shaved side of her head. “Good job. And hey! I appreciate you” I said, walking off to politely give everyone the pretence I wasn’t aware of their every word.

“I’m going to be riding this high for a whole week” said Grail dazedly, touching her scalp.

“Grail, I hate you right back” said Elodie, brows furrowed, ‘but I also just lost some respect for you”.

“Wow, however will I recover. OH, I know!” said Grail, radiating smugness, “Have I mentioned that BECAUSE of the power imbalance between Anon and I, I also get to FUCK him while you’re stuck in the doghouse?”

Elodie gawked at her in speechless, disbelieving, confused horror. “WHAT?!”

Nta, but you could say the same for most immortality options, or general ultimate power options, ever, the teens protagonists having plot armor and the villains being stupid isn't a detriment to the power by itself.

Oh, bullshit. This wasn't something Voldy caved to because of unique teen powers or the power of friendship, this was something every teen in the setting could do with enough motivation.

The thing with Horcruxes is that you can absolutely be safer with them then Voldemort was (he could have just kept them hidden in a random beach and never told anyone where they were and they'd probably never have been found) but if you do that, you lose on a big benefit of them (the fact that the item has power and influence on its own). Malfoy took a big risk when he gave the Diary to Ginny, but he almost got Hogwarts closed when he did so. Horcruxes are both phylacteries and magic items, and if you focus on one of their uses they're by default going to be worse at the other.
Anonymous No.96409714
>>96409674
Not really, it isn't something any teen could have done, it was needed a lot of external support and circumstances, and, again, they had a lot of plot armor to stumble in things they needed (like the cup wich Bellatrix, who they randomly met, hinted), and his own stupidity (like Riddle exposing the basilisk, whose poison was one of the things capable to destroy the book), the literal power of love, and a lot of luck.
Horcrux are a trash way to be immortal, because unlike what fanfic authors believe they don't spontaneously resurrect the user, reducing him below a ghost.

> he could have just kept them hidden in a random beach and never told anyone where they were
He basically did tho. The locket was hidden in some random cave that nobody except Dumbledore knew about. And even Dumbledore had to spend significant amount of time searching for it.
The ring was in a random dilapidated shack that only Dumbledore knew the significance of.
The diadem was in a room in Hogwarts that few people knew how to work, nobody knew the diadem was there, and even if they did it would take a very long time to search. The only reason it was found was due to an absolutely absurd coincidence.

The most fucked up thing about the whole cracker barrel situation is that they had major investors literally telling them for like two years now that the rebranding was a massive waste of money and that it was going to backfire on them and the CEO and the board of directors just flat out ignored the people giving the warnings. Honestly I think the CEO and members of the board should be held legally acountable for their actions and potentially even see prison time. They had a fiscal responsibility to their share holders, some of whom made it very clear that the changes were going to backfire and wipe out market value, and then the exact thing they were warned about happened when they ignored the warnings. Iirc to paraphrase one of the major investors of Cracker Barrel "if you had put $100 dollars in Cracker Barrel stock five years ago you would now have $30 after the incompetence and mismanagement of the board". They also pointed out that the issues Cracker Barrel was having had nothing to do with image or branding and everything to do with putting butts in seats, an issue that basically every restaurant chain had been struggling with since 2020 and the start of covid hysteria, and instead of addressing the root issue they decided to blow 700 million on woke rebranding & political activism instead and it blew up in their faces exactly as they were told it would.

If the shareholders who didn't want this were really that concerned, they should have voted the board of directors out beforehand, instead of holding onto their shares throughout the entire process (meaning they would have financially gained if the plan worked) and only starting to do things after realizing that they'd bet on the wrong horse.

For Kara no Kyoukai's Risen Legend, would this be a viable method of immorality? Bounded Fields that when set, resurrect the user if they're killed while in the boundaries of the field, removing all injuries and restoring their body to the state it was when they first set the field. The resurrections are infinite in nature until the Bounded Field is removed or destroyed. Bounded Fields if not disturbed will last forever as long as there is ambient mana to draw from in the area. Further mastery of Bounded Fields allows the user to create a mobile Bounded Field around the wearer, this Mobile Field resurrects the user once before fading away. To maintain the mobile Bounded Field, once must dedicate a flat percentage of their mana to maintaining the field (roughly 25%).
My logic behind this setup is that Living Legend grants you an immortality option on par with Touko's Puppet Immortality. Since I went with the Bounded Fields that Souren Araya specialized in, I assumed it would be feasible to create Bounded Fields of Immortality. Thoughts?
