The last week of august is here so it's time for the collage anchor posts. I'll try to post one every thread this week. If you've finished your character model you can submit it here by replying to my post. As always I'll look through the archive too but this is the best way to not get missed. Deadline is midnight the 31st est.

There has been some complaints and suggestions about the september vote. Kitbashed character is in the lead to win and some are feeling that it's too close to the current theme and that it should be vetoed for the runner up. I don't like to take decisions like this since I feel the decision should be with the thread but I think I've found a solution that works. I'll change the "kitbashed character" option to a more open kitbash theme where you can submit anything kitbashed. That way the people who wanted to kitbash a character can still do so while those wanting something more fresh also get their way. Feel free to share your thoughts on this, thanks guys.

The points values for literally everything in the game are about 20-30% lower than what they should be minimum. Except the stompa, that's probably the only unit in the game that's genuinely overcosted.

Gretchin are without question the strongest army in Warhammer 40k. People just refuse to admit it because it hurts their ego. Marines cost too much, Custodes fold to weight of dice, Knights are just walking victory points. A hundred grots on the table is the endgame. They drown the board, steal every objective, and laugh while your elite golden boys swing their shiny weapons at models that cost less than your morning coffee.

Every single grot is a hidden MVP. They force you to waste turns and firepower while the green tide wins on points before you even notice. Grots are not weak, they are misunderstood. The truth is that every other faction is a distraction from the real meta, which is filling the battlefield with angry barefoot goblins until your opponent has a breakdown.

Grots are the future. Everyone else is still stuck in the past.

The whole point of the Alpha Legion is that ever since Alpharius died and Omegon fucked off to who-knows-where, the entire legion has practically fractured and any plans there are.
Basically big part of the Alpha Legion went 100% traitor and drank the Chaos Kool-Aid, other 30% stayed loyal and rest 20% started to do whatever they wanted after their primarchs disappeared.
But all sides are so mixed in so many schemes, trickery, plans, subterfuge, subversion and whatever other secret plots that it is a giant cluster fuck at this point and no one can really even tell which way the wind is blowing and what to do. It's literally the case of "Who is subverting who now exactly?"

Which has just made Alpha Legion as a whole into paranoid fucks who can't trust anyone, not even themselves, while they are all also a self replicating splinter cells that do whatever and act like an virulent malign cancer that infects everything.

Anyone that'd even have a semblance of understand as to what the over all goal and plan is, would be Omegon himself, but where he is, or if he even alive anymore at this point is completely unknown.
He might be Cypher, he might be a Custodian posing around in the imperial palace, he might be hanging with DEldar just because, he might even just be a farmer on some uncontacted backwater planet with Vulkan. Nobody truely knows.

I've been meaning to pick up a a Dark Eldar Combat Patrol for the last couple of months and when I finally got around to it over the weekend, I found that all the normal sites I buy from were out of stock.
Last night I found a site that claimed to have them in stock, at less then the standard GW price (but more then where I normally buy from), so I bought it.

Also there are hints that on top of this the Emperor himself is protecting Titus. You see this in SM2 at the end after Titus took hold of the power source and tore it in half with his hands.
When he is regaining consciousness there is a disembodied voice talking to him telling him to "rise". People assume it was Calgar talking to him based on the voice, but you realize that Calgar was not standing close to him at all in the cutscene when voice played, and the people standing next to Titus were Chairon and Gadriel.

It's so common to see people here straight up stating their headcanon as fact. I don't know whether they're lying on purpose to try to make their headcanon get traction with people who don't know any better which means they're trying to prey on ignorance, or whether they're so delusional they believe it themselves.

Enough faith in the Emperor does in fact make you immune to chaos. If your faith is strong enough, you can walk through a nurgle plague without so much as a runny nose, or you can see right through a tzeentch deamon's mirror image and simply shoot the correct one because illusions don't work on you. The reason these sorts of things work on most people is because most people don't have the level of faith required to overcome them. Your average random guardsman is going to turn into a zombie or shoot wildly. But someone who believes in the Emperor simply trusts that He will guide your hand, and sure enough, you aimed at the right mirror image, or you believed that the plague won't affect you because the Emperor's will is stronger than Nurlge's plague. It actually works, because faith is real in 40k, and the stronger you believe, the better it works.

This is the foundation of the SoB's supernatural element. It's represented on tabletop by acts of faith, and the army wide 6+ invuln save represents the lore that some sisters' faith is so strong, it literally bends bullets away from vital organs because she just believed so strongly that the Emperor would do that for her. When you pop an act of faith to gain more shots or ignore cover or these gameplay effects, that's literally a manifestation of their faith bending reality, because the Emperor is that powerful.

So no, it's not true that "it's actually common for SoB to fall, they just cover it up", it's not true that SoB fall to khorne so often they're "known for it". Absolute bullshit lies and headcanon. I've read every SoB related book and I play the army.

It doesn't. Inquisitors get corrupted on the regular and they take every precaution they can to prevent it from happening.
And again, Chaos sisters are known to exist even before Ark of Omen thing, they existed.
In the Arks of Omen, it was just the first time where GW just straight up outwardly says "Yes, Chaos sisters exist". The entire fleet Quartus gets completely corrupted by Khorne, all marines, sisters, guardsmen, techpriests, etc. All become khorne worshippers when the beacon was destroyed by Angron.

Also we already know that Chaos sisters are much more common than people think thanks to Iconoclast.
She is a sister who became corrupted by Khorne because killing in the name of the Emperor was no longer enough and satisfactory.
It is also the short story where we learn that the Ecclesiarchy just covers up everything. They go so far as to where theyuse groom children and use surgery into turning them into doppelgangers to take place of any of the sororitas who go traitor.
In that story it is the revelation that the protagonist who we follow happens to be the very doppelganger was created to replace Iconoclast when Iconoclast went originally traitor.

We have a very well known story which started due to shit like this.
It's Siege of Vraks, cardinal Xaphan was a faithful man of the Emperor and he became corrupted due to his fanaticism.
It has never been a guarantee of anything.
The faith exists to just bind the Imperium together for a common cause and a goal, which is usually enough to keep most people in line and not make them ask questions above their paygrade.

Only way you can truely safeguard yourself from Chaos in 40k is your own will power and nothing else.

Arks of Omen had that happen when Angron destroyed the mini-astronomican when Khorne channel his very own power through Angron to destroy it.
The destruction caused a massive psychic backlash that instantly drove everyone within the fleet quartus insane and corrupted them to service of Khorne.

You are incorrect. Every time chaos tries to corrupt someone, it's a battle of their faith vs chaos's effort. That effort can take the form of khorne making them bloodthirsty, nurgle trying to infect them, or any number of things. I love celestine but I want the huge angel from Soulstorm. I have a kitbashed one made from the celestine statue kit but I haven't painted it yet because I'm scared and REALLY want to do it justice. I'm really proud of the kitbashing working I did. In fact, I'm considering having it commissioned. I've used it in a casual game unpainted though using Daemon Prince w/ Wings rules because that's the perfect profile for it. My store was really hype on the project but I want it painted nice.

I think it's also why Orks have both genuine Warp powers and all their weird little phenomena. Their "faith" isn't directed towards a god/gods, or possibly because their lives could be considered worshipping Gork and Mork by fighting, so it manifests around them in little miracles that allow them to have "red wunz go faster", but much like how some faith powers aren't affected by psychic blanks or null, a lot of the Orks stuff isn't either.
Maybe the Old Ones were deliberately engineering a mix of tech/psychic/faith into Orks.
