Space marine chapter creation.
Okay, I need some story and combat doctrine ideas for this new chapter.
Basically, it's a Space Marine chapter based on the stories of the Musketeers.

Chapter name: Sons of Aramis.

Yes, sounds better

By the way, the name of the chapter is due to the fact that the home world is called "Aramis".

Chapter Master Porthos and Inquisitor Athos would absolutely work. Richelieu as an antagonistic radical Inquisitor could fit, since he's on the same side as the Musketeers legally speaking but with his own standing army, spy network, and even trying to hurt the queen and her lover.
In the book, Aramis ends up leaving the Musketeers to become a clergyman, though I don't remember if he did drop his romantic escapades. Maybe this chapter became secluded after a crusade?

>Unknown gene-seed (suspected to have come from a traitor primarch).
>The Sons of Aramis are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter known for their savage tactics and brutal efficiency which is counteracted by their restraint and iron-bound discipline. Of all the Space Marine Chapters, none exemplify the virtues of martial honor and strict self-control more than the Sons of Aramis. Are paragons of the warrior creed, and ardent supporters of the Emperor's intention to unify the galaxy.

ok, An important crusade or an unknown crusade?

I don't really think said crusades importance matters in terms of importance, just that whatever it was it caused their seclusion

Basing them off the real Musketeers of the Guard and the movies and books
>no primaris
Musketeers were supposed to be noblemen and primaris don't have the established ancient noble lineage
>no separate scouts company
They learn on the job like d'Artagnan.
>no distinction between tactical and assault marines
Musketeers were named after their use of muskets but are now famous for their sword play so all Sons of Aramis carry bolters, bolt pistols and rapiers allowing normal ranged fire as well as ccw, however, they never use jump packs because it might scorch their tabards, and they can't carry heavy weapons
>they use a lot of bikes, assault bikes, no attack bikes
Musketeers were historically cavalry and infantry, and no one wants to be carried as a passenger like a little girl. Speeders are probably okay.
>proportionally lower amount of devastator squads and armour support
Musketeers were a king's guard, not a siege force or an artillery regiment. Sounding a bit too White Scars with this and the bikes but that can't be helped.
>Their veterans can be equipped with up to four missile missile launchers or heavy bolters like devastator squads. Even they heavy weapons guys can still hand to hand with their rapier and bolt pistol combo
Because there was that one old film where the retired musketeer used a mortar. Mortars go boom and missile launchers go boom.
>Forces which are mostly mounted on bikes or speeders usually have whirlwinds or other guess weapons
Because of that one old film where the retired musketeer...

Their relationship with the ecclesiarchy is "complicated" and they don't play nicely with the guard very often but they're very happy to work with the Sisters of Battle. Units may often arrive late because they're drunk (their geneseed is fine except for their Oolitic Kidney no working on alcohol, this same defect is why they always slightly smell of cheese) or too busy fighting a duel in which case they'll charge the enemy to make up for lost time.

I came up with a chapter of dark blue colored space marines with alligator theme who are bestest and everything and can totally beat your chapter and love wearing albino alligator skins. Their favorite tactic is massive "death roll" drop pod assault at enemy's weakest point. They are based on post-apocalyptic full-night ex-hive bayo world and have "corax" genesed with a quirk that makes them constantly stream tears aka "crocodile" tears. I've yet to come up with a cool name for them: Primal Bortherhood? Blue Reptiles?
