How many slaves (ghouls, or whatever) do you own?

Two ghouls. More than that, and I start to feel tied down.
In terms of bound wraiths, though, I’d have to look up the exact number but it’s probably around three dozen.

I've heard Vampire's Dark Ages V20 ruleset is better than the modern v20 a few times.
Are there a few specific rules or disciplines that are better in dark ages or is it lots of little things all over the place?
I did a little googling but mostly just found people saying that they liked the dark ages setting better, and that obfuscation is better in DA, but nothing else
Anonymous No.96417148
>>96417049
No, sorry, I was asking more about the setting. I never read too much about it here, but my group and I haven’t played anything but v20 Dark Ages for close to a decade.

I was wondering about its broader popularity.

Mechanically, it’s probably the best system that exists*. It’s no surprise that people adapt its rules into today.

*I don’t know about Requiem. I never played it. If it’s better, let me know.
Anonymous No.96417244
>>96417130
It's a bunch of little things, imo.
Like having to pay for rituals instead of getting them for free. How some powers are better developed (Presence 1, for example).
If it was just a couple things, people would port it over to their favourite edition.
Also, powergamers try to not so subtly use DA generation - that goes all the way down to 7 -instead of modern generation background.

So let me get this straight. We have
>Old Clan Tzimisce (no vicissitude, true black hand, space AIDs)
>Old Clan Tzimisce (normal Tzimisce that either didn't join the Sabbat or don't care and still live in run down castles in the middle of nowhere)
>Old Clan Tzimisce (actually just Kolduns but people call them old clan for some reason)

Are there any other Old Clan Tzimisce I should know about?!
Anonymous No.96417906 >>96417913
>>96417863
no those are the 3 big groups but according to transylvania by night "old clan" for the tzimisce just means "tzimisce who didn't go with the times and or clan direction" so basically everyone who deviates from the current tzimisce norm is a "old clan tzimisce" to the young kids

Hey /WoDg/ I'm running a Mage game currently and realized that altho I've done a lot of world building for the Mages and their society, most of the other npcs and locations are pretty sparse. Could you give me some ideas to fill my towns with or just fun local in general pretty please? I'm running a modern game set in October 2025 in the Greater Boston Area.

Obviously you’ve got Salem to your north, plenty of restless spirits there.
Rich, pseudo-blue-blood jerkoffs in Belmont. You could take them up to Lawrence and see if they can survive in Mass.’s version of Detroit.
You can have some pointy-headed, aging commies in the People’s Republic of Cambridge. Charlestown, full of white working class Fitzies and Sullies.

I just realized, if vampires are full of blood inside but only a portion of it counts as vitae then their bodies are full of inert blood they could upchuck on command. How's that for blinding an enemy in a fight?
Anonymous No.96418508 >>96418536
>>96418438
I’d allow it, but not unlimited shots. I’m not going to look it up, but doesn’t something like Scorpion’s Touch cost a certain quantity? Something like that maybe?

What I liked to do in V5 was use Unliving Hive to host a swarm of parasitic wasps inside my body and use them like a blinding cloud.
Anonymous No.96418536
>>96418508
Yeah, of course. Methinks older vampires can just concentrate or preserve their vitae better instead of having more blood in them. Be pretty goofy if you can house dozens of pints of blood (1 vitae = 1 pint as per the book) in a human-sized body.

The combat rules are better imo, celerity is less overpowered.

Everyone gets only one attack per turn and instead of celerity straight up giving an extra actions you can only use multiple actions for an additional attack for half your celerity rounded up (Cel 1 gives 1 extra attack but Cel 2 also only gives 1 extra attack) and your dice pool is still reduced for those additional attacks but the difficulty of your extra actions doesn’t increase.

Nos (nick)named Shark because he’s an infamous loan shark. He’s Low Gen (7th) and fairly well rounded, but in particular is very cunning and extremely well financially connected. He only makes good deals (for him), and everyone who’s anyone knows he’s a pretty good guy to have on your side, and not the worst person to owe something to. He’s a loan shark in the sense that if he trades you anything, he’s getting more than even in return, whether it be money, favors, magical artifacts, or just straight up mage blood (more than you could take in one sitting, so a reoccurring blood draw every two/three weeks).

He is remarkably resistant to manipulation, mundane or magical, probably because of some kind of artifact he owns. Anything the party gets or gives should probably come back to bite them y necessarily in a direct way, but Shark makes good deals (for him) and is a reliable, easy, but obviously mercenary way for players to get resources and minor relics from. For added fun, no one knows he’s a Nosferatu, his illusions are remarkably difficult to detect.

He’s always seemingly caught in the epicenter of anything bad that goes down but also simultaneously always walks away completely unharmed. If interrogated or asked he has 0 idea of the supernatural or anything being weird or unusual. He’s a 9-5 office worker with a wife and a kid on the way.

Mechanically he has Dark Fate, Nine Lives, and the Guardian Angel merits
