Justify why your mercenary female rogue or bard character is not also a prostitute.

People keep pestering her for sex and she has a very oppositional personality. So she stabs people for money out of spite.

Prostitution isn't actually very profitable. Most clients only want to pay the minimum and expect a lot of work for it, and the good money from whale clients takes even more effort. Plus all the associated dangers. When you look at objectively, slaying monsters turns out to easier money.

Because prostitution doesn't ever come up in any of my games; I play fantasy games with a focus on exploration and combat, there's no place for prostitution out in the wilderness or in undead territory or barren lands of lava and fire.
That aside, my characters wouldn't do that for any combination of reasons depending on the individual character and the world she lives in:

Pretty much just cater to the rich who want transactional sex. Even then, most try to create an emotional attachment so they'll see repeat business.
