The matter of the fact is that red flags don't matter. It's red flags all the way down. You just need the strength as a GM to kick out problem makers, or if you are a player to call out problem makers and to just walk away if nobody wants to kick them out.

My friend has played one (1) male character out of over 50 I remember. All the rest have been female characters with vaguely similar looks (might just be his artstyle) but also very diverse things from monsters to mundane humans. He doesn't roleplay them with voices or anything, nor has he (except once) had his female characters do anything sexual. IRL he is asexual, aromantic, etc. I don't know if I should expect him to come out as trans in a few years. Tbh it's not even really my business but it does make me wonder. I can understand playing a female character once in a while, for me it's a big no-no as a PC, as an NPC certainly, and I do admit enjoying it. It is nice, on 2 steps of removal (both "it isn't me" and "it isn't even supposed to be a proxy of me") to play a female character. It's nice to include cute girls in your setting, as well as just normal women who would be part of the setting and any DM would include. When I used to DM for my dad it was intensely awkward to include ANY female NPCs and I only did so once. Now that I am older, in my early 30s instead of mid teens, that awkwardness is gone. But I still will not play a female PC, nor do I really feel any desire to.

Not even memeing here. In 25 years of playing rpgs probably 90% of the problem players I've ever encountered have exclusively played human male characters. Compulsive powergamer? Always human male unless their build specifically requires some racial feat or something, and even then they'll usually try to get the GM to let them have some special snowflake backstory for why their human male can ignore the prerequisite. Any sort of disruptive jackassery justified by but it's what my character would do? Almost always playing a human male. Creepy ERP weirdo? Usually playing a human male. Zero understanding of personal hygiene? Always playing a human male.

See, people expect themselves from others. If people turn up and do shit that annoys people or derails the game, 99% of the time it can be resolved by just talking to them like an adult.
But if someone turns up talking about all the shit other people do that pisses them off? They're not there to play, they're there to bitch. Lose them.
