>Destiny (pedophile gooner) becomes a popular streamer thanks to Starcraft 2
>pivots to politics
>basically pioneers and founds Breadtubing as a genre
>uses his clout to specifically uplift and signal boost Vaush (pedophile gooner) and Hasan Piker (literally went to Diddy parties)
Basically, without Starcraft 2 we wouldn't have to deal with people trying to shill concepts like "ethical child porn" or "virtuous minor-attracted persons"

Given how much of it traces to the much larger base of Tumblr Genderspecials, I have doubts. And this isn't really "responsible" given the distance between Blizzard and streaming; SC2's public outreach was aimed SQUARELY at E-Sports instead.

Can you establish a causal factor where Blizzard had any intentionality to Destiny's spewing of bullshit, or are you just blaming them because SC2 is where he HAPPENED to start?

Ignoring that this thread is for some reason about pedophilia apologia and who does it, I think this game looks shit. No, I haven’t read the rules and maybe there’s something clever in there, but the style is amateur-modelled print slop. Who wants to be limited to three factions in a sci-fi setting? Who wants to engage with this paper thin Blizzard lore? Someone shared a bottle of soju with an exec and convinced him to give him the rights so he could make a quick buck off his off-shore 3D modelling office.

I played a lot of StarCraft and I have no misgivings about it, but the style looks like slop. Bad proportions, too nu-Blizzard. StarCraft 2’s aesthetic did itself scuff the clarity of the artistic vision of the first by making everything so smooth. The models they’ve shown renders for look like random crap you’d find online from an independent creator. That’s not ‘everything I don’t like is slop’. Plenty of things I don’t like don’t look like slop. I hate primaris but they looks good.

Hell people that never played SC when they where kid so no nostalgia goggles and started playing the game with SC2 try SC and eventually leave SC2 behind.
SC2 is an objectively worst game than SC, even kids that grew with nothing but modern game eventually stick with good old SC finding that things like the retarded pathfinding of the Goliath or the Dragoon to be a skill to master than a flaw of the game. Which is odd coming from kids that usually get frustrated easily.

You want fluff: a cassus belli, a vibe, a reason to campaign and make /yourdudes/

Lore is gay and cribbed 99% from history which inevitably reads more exciting anyway.

What sci fi or fantasy property ever improved by being fucking expanded upon at the corporate end? At some point you're just going to have to be creative.

People criticise historical gamers but I see more self expression and craft than people just rote following seasons of fucking lore, with its attendant spinoffs, everyquestion answered, might as well just stay in bed.

I mean, I liked BW but it was meant to have a downer ending with Mengsk still in charge, the UED broken, Fenix and Duke dead. Artanis and Zeratul got a win at the end of the Protoss campaign, but with Kerrigan ascendant as the Bitch Queen, all they did was buy some time.
It was a good hook for a sequel.

But man that sequel was such a fucking mess.
Tychus did nothing wrong and didn't deserve what he got.
Kerrigan being the glowing golden goddess savior of everyone despite all the terrible shit she did was just the absolute zenith of bad writing. It was terrifying for a time that everyone expected Blizzard to repeat the Kerrigan bullshit with Sylvanas in WoW. It seemed they actually were but fan reaction forced them to walk it back. But then Shadowlands was easily the worst expansion WoW ever had. And when it's competing with Cataclysm, that's saying a lot.

That said, I am cautiously optimistic about SCTTG. I would very much like a game that can compete with GW's strangelhold. And I say that as someone who plays 40k, Horus Heresy and Old World.

Easy 9 from just 3 big players of every faction, and potentially variations based on the different doctrines the player color factions.

(pic related is the color based factions they made).

Also, SC2 had a bunch of commanders you could retool to be amries. They could have some system that any terran faction has access to core units, but may deploy some specialist units based on the faction.

WoW isn't over yet and judging by amount of retarded girlbosses with pointed ears she have a good chances to come back.
It's still hillarious, how every element of SC2, while looking solid and promising, managed to end up badly because Blizzard decided to bend story to the saviour figure

They are practically identical, except of Celebrates-Broodmothers.
They've already hinted that one of the zerg faction will be Stukov's infested terrans

I do not expect much from a RTS story. Even ignoring that everyone in BW had their IQ lower when in proximity of Kerrigan much like anyone when facing the Tau in 40k, it was a good enough story.
SC2 on the other hand as other anons have pointed out, characters that would be meh at best in any other story like Abathur look fantastic by comparison due to how shit the rest of the story is.
But given credit where credit is due, Wings of Liberty is impressive with how much liberty it gives the player to approach it

Why would it? The reason vidya is popular there is because living space is minimal.
