this looks good just straight up despite the complaining about leaks, I'll take this shit over nighthaunts garbage control aura 10 times out of 10. Practically 1 point per turn for every unit, last through the entire round, foot heroes and your cannons dicking around in the back are extra points to spend. Spell is strong, prayer is strong.

Model wise, I have 0 faith that GW will make new Ogre models fun to build or kitbash.
Rules wise, a rework similar to Nighthaunt would be welcome
Sabertusks and Yehtiis are definitely getting cut from the book
Firebelly will either get a refresh alongside butcher and slaughtermaster or be moved out as well
I would appreciate if maneaters got a refresh

The spell is insane. It forces most other factions to play at your speed or at least have the threat of them being forced to do so. Which is oddly flavorful. Getting a good cast off can suddenly cause an enemy to have been overextended and made into easy pickings.

I'd buy two; I'd wanna reinforce my blunderbusses, I'm sure at least one variant of centaur will be good, and by some miracle it looks like we've got good wizards *and* good priests, so I'd want at least one of each.

It's from Soulbound, Ruins of the Past. Barak-Kling, a port in Ghyran, was ruined in the Necroquake. Parts of it crashed, but a few endrin-powered estates are still intact and suspended above the wreckage. Most of the port's denizens were killed, and of those many still linger as piratical gheists called the Dreadwind Buccaneers. There's kind of a low-intensity war being fought between the Kharadron ghosts, the Nighthaunt who ruined the port, and the Sylvaneth trying to save what's left of the small glade that was crushed under the falling debris.

I mean it works for most armies in AOS. The only ones where it really doesn't for one reason or another would be Seraphon (no biological sex), OSB (sculpted bone constructs with no sex characteristics), Skaven (females are exclusively breeding sows), Greenskins (all male), and maybe Gargants(?). But I don't know how Gargants reproduce so maybe.
Every other faction either already has females in it or has no reason to not include them. Even the Dwarfs have historically had at least one female model back in Fantasy.
Anonymous No.96487175
>>96487006
for glittermaw I can understand in a way, they already did the same special character once with greasus, so diversifying a bit sounds good, plus the archetype of a spoiled brat could be an interesting one to explore, a character bedecked in gold doesn't fit that well in a faction so otherwise lacking in decorations and apparently reverting even more on the cultural level, so by making an intermediary you can take compromises with that so it fits instead of ruining the extreme of the background character or having it be a sore thumb, finally by keeping it in the background it feels larger than life

BUT this is a game where people routinely field gods and demigods, an ogre pimp is hardly something that inspires legendary awe, gw doesn't have the balls to make female characters with purposeful flaws, let alone stereotypical ones, and the decision to make genderswap greasus and genderswap golgfag, but not genderswap skrag because women couldn't possibly belong to the kitchen, is evidently just a way to force gender equality in a faction where noone was asking for such a thing

Think of it as local gods trying to stand up to gods that embody core concepts. I also looked up the alleged reference to the great maw in one of the call of archaon short stories

the story is not about the maw at all, it's about some khorne warriors and then a gaunt summoner redirects ogres, who were summoning maw-portals to appear next to the khornates instead of wherever they were going to, making a mention of how this forceful redirection makes the great maw groan

>[the gaunt summoner scried] a while through the Realm of Beasts, a thousand scenes of strife and horror passing beneath its hands. In a land far away, it found what it sought. The ogor followers of Skargut burned to avenge the death of their master at the hands of Baudrax.
>They massed around their cook-priests, who at that very moment offered up the choicest offal to their hungry god, beseeching him to guide them to their foe.
>Maw-portals opened, red and glistening as gullets. The ogors screamed out their
desire for revenge and poured through.
>For one such as the Many-Eyed Servant, it was a small matter to manipulate such
simple magic and send the ogors where it willed.

>Somewhere far away in the Realm of Chaos, the Many-Eyed Servant heard an angry, brutish bellowing, but it paid the complaints no heed. The Ravenous One was feeble. Tzeentch was not.

It's not so much who said it in this case, it's that whitefang gave it a like. Wf doesn't post that much themselves, half the shit we know is by piecing together like and confusion reacts.

>Cravenhold, the seat of Kurdoss Valentian, can be found to the east. Ringed by beheaded effigies of its ruler, the Craven King, it is a lowly place even by Dolorum's baleful standards. In the Gallery of Ignominy, row upon row of mocking statues commemorate Valentian's greatest failures, rendering his entire stronghold a monument of derision.
It was someone's job to decorate that place. Someone was given the job of decorating an entire fortress to make eternity more miserable for one specific resident. No matter how bad your life is, at least you aren't Kurdoss Valentian.
