Anyone think its weird that being good at videogames is its own seperate perk? I think so. The way I see it, the idea world ones can't physically exist on their own since they're just ideas, and would need a person to act as their vessel. The spirit realm ones could probably physically exist, but are restrained by their world not yet overlapping with ours so they need an anchor to keep them here.

For Tomaki, in my writeup I'm doing right now Kakito's voice is carried on the wind at times as he just randomly antagonizes him as long as he carries his tooth. Other cases like cursed objects could just have to exist. I mean look at the haunted journal. Avatar would probably be the best bet for Idolon Spirit Realmers physically showing up though.

Some of the creatures, like Yokai, are mentioned to be 'very real'. Then stuff like Ghosts and Apparitions can appear 'in areas with strong emotions' (Though Ghosts implied to be their own source).

5 is the best one (depending on how 'super' is the intelligence it grants). It makes 9 redundant, since a super-genius would have no trouble making money. It's also superior to 4, since you can only be in one place at a time to heal people whereas if you apply your intellect to medical research you could discover all kinds of cures which could be used all over the world.

8 is potentially the most powerful, but it's very ambiguous as to what counts as one 'thing' you can change, e.g. could I change it so the Sumerian civilisation survived to the modern day, or would that require a bunch of things to change? Also, if the two interacted during Itsuki's break in, Reiji would try to hire him after seeing what he did to a bunch of his security detail. As for the fight? Matsunaga kun goes around with one of the blessed boken from the school, and is a very direct kind of fighter (this also applies for Takemikazuchi). As for the fight? I think hed be most likely to stop Itsuki, but then confiscate the cursed shinai and bring to the student council.

Depending on how Itsuki fights, i think Matsuunaga could either hate him or respect him in a sort "Facing each other with all they have" way.

As for the similairites they have I'd also like to see your interpetation! Cant wait to read it!

I think everyone technically has an idolon since the time their consciousness forms, but they're normally entirely locked to the idea world. Because things have started spilling over, some people have been able to fully manifest theirs through awakening. An argument could probably made that the more spiritually aware builds have known of their for a while despite being unable awaken before recent events.

Answering all those questions:

In the old version, I dunno if I remembered to put in the new one, the supernatural stuff started to happen circa 3 years ago in the setting, so 1997.
But supernatural/superstition/strange events have been going on for centuries.

Awakenings can vary., some people can just awaken one day, or they undergo traumatic events, which forces an awakening, or when they are in a pinch and need that extra OOMPH, which causes an awakening.

Those two last types nearly, almost every time, spawn a bleeding zone to worse when they awaken, overflowing their area with Idea World energy and forcing them to spawn.

On another note, Yokai/Another Idolon can just scout people who are predisposed to awaken and form a bond to awaken them without traumatic or serious events.

Itsugi is pretty much a violent fighter; his fighting style revolves around hurting people and mauling them rather than any sort of martial prowess, sportsmanship, or show of skill. It is pretty much goal-oriented: he wants to defeat you; this is all that matters to him in a fight, defeating the opponent through any means he can find.

He always fights with everything he has.

Also, Itsuki himself has a Cursed Shinai too, so they have this dichotomy going on:

Itsuki, someone who lost his world and gave in to violence and vengeance to fill in the hole in his heart, and wields a cursed shinai (sometimes), and Matsuraga, who lost his world, but chose to soldier on and do the right thing, wielding a blessed Bokken.

Well, I guess you don't have any problems with Matsuraga winning or losing, yes?

Actually, it gave me an idea. Itsuki still storms in the tournament, but is intending to steal it for Momo, since she just wields a normal Bokken with Masamune written on it. He beats up Reiji's security and then gets recruited to get the shinai for Reiji instead, with Reiji bluffing his way into recruiting Itsuki.
Basically, he says he can help Itsuki on his quest and has the resources to do so, totally praying that this person with the soul of a Chihuahua does not see through his bluff. Itsuki doesn't, and ends up on Reiji's payroll for the time being.

Yeah, I was already brainstorming an introductory convo between Reiji and Itsuki, though mine would have involved him going to Itsuki first and revealing that he'd been having his guys track Itsuki ever since he killed Nobody Gangmember (a plant who was secretly working for Reiji to get info on the gang Itsuki took out.) Basically, Reiji would give him a full list of Itsuki's personal information that would be extremely difficult for most people to uncover, and get at least in the ballpark of Itsuki's motivations. Then he'd offer to use the same resources he did to to uncover that info to help Itsuki in his quest.

I think you could still include a lot of that for your idea. It would just be less of a bluff and more like some quick thinking after a potential asset came to Reiji a little sooner than intended. Whatever you decide should probably be fine though.

It is not that different from what I thought.

My current plan is for Itsuki to get over to Reiji after Reiji and his cronies manage to get into the vault to get Shinai, but then get cornered by Itsuki.

Itsuki beats his security, and Reiji cuts a deal. This can help it greatly, as now I can have a more concrete idea of what Reiji will offer/give Itsuki to make him relent, and they to strike a deal.

Then Matsuraga notices something is weird, and comes knocking since he stayed until later doing club activities.

Reiji uses Matsuraga's intrusion to slip away undetected, while Matsuraga notices Itsuki taking the other Shinai, and a brawl commences.
