It was mostly PanO that established a no-flight zone over the Japanese islands to protect the JSA, and then Aleph and O-12 stepped in before the situation escalated destabilising the Human Sphere during the CA invasion. That's why JSA uses a lot of PanO weapons, they are sort of the Ukraine/Taiwan of the setting's Russia/China.
Of course later PanO got backstabbed by the JSA anyway on Shinju, around japs never relax.

Speaking of panos performance:
I have a player in my group who struggles with our hacking/pitcher heavy meta. Even guided is still in use by three people. Now, he plays kestrel and is getting his shit pushed in by hacking. Anyone got a good idea on how he might avoid getting demolished by having his tags and HI made useless t1?
I already told him to just roll good and field killer hackers, to me kestrel seems to be a bit poor in terms of hacking defence.

Yeah, I don't know if there's a silver bullet there. Scarecrow and maybe even Black air look decent enough in vacuum, but they become rather predictable if you field them all the time.

PanO in general is usually quite poor at fielding and defending against hackers. The Scarecrow is probably his best bet, but it's still WIP 13 shit.
My advice is to shoot the enemy hacker.

If you're playing a HI/TAG list against hackers and going second, hold those units back and make your opponent work to get them in pitcher range, ideally overextending themselves or losing some pitcher-launchers to AROs in the process. Putting your big hackable units at the front of the DZ, ready to charge in, just makes them easy pickings for enemy pitchers, repeater remotes, or SK hackers/repeaters.

Then on your turn, drop a KHD Black AIR in their DZ and have them mop up the keyboard warriors.

Yamabushis and Beasthunters. I always take at least two of these. Just send them out to obliterate any weak nerd hackers that are threatening you. If the opponent is going all in on hacking/guided, spending a turn just hunting his hackers with these guys is 100% worth it.

Very much so. To shorten things out, after some Tohaa fuckery, the CA and the Human Sphere are in an uneasy truce kind of situation, without open war.

What on Earth happened? Was there some big time skip or something? I thought the CA was so big that neither the Tohaa nor Human Sphere could hope to stop them outright, which was the whole point of controlling the jump points into Paradiso?

Did anything ever happen to that digester that was hiding on Earth?

Are Tohaa finally coming back? They were some of my favorite Infinity models ever.

War got hot for a while, humanity still couldn't cooperate and was losing ground, and after the Tohaa Illuminati tried to blow up the digester (and the planet it was on) rather than let it fall into CA hands, CA stepped in and said "yo, give us a seat on the council and access to the digester and we'll stop the O12 planet from being disintegrated; we definitely won't ratfuck you" and we said "okay; we definitely won't ratfuck you right back."

So now things are back, lorewise, to more or less how they were when the CA was still this distant entity sending scouting parties at the human sphere: the CA is one player among many, everyone is engaging in covert ops and ratfucking each other, and there's not an extinction-level crisis hanging over the entire setting.

They still haven't reopened the Daedalus Gate and the public is pissed at them for almost blowing up Concilium, so the current state of Tohaa is a small force trying to convince everybody they meet that it was the other guys who did it. Damage has been replaced by Survivability/Possibility of Survival. SR-1 is the same as Damage+1.

And STR is shared between forms now, so it has STR 3 like every other TAG, not double that.

It's a 1 point penalty to the enemy saving roll. When you see a negative in brackets it's always applied to the enemy.

Fair enough. The whole 15 order limit is something new to me, I'm used to Ariadna being a bunch of very effective but cheap dudes with some modest yet respectable medium cost guys, so a TAG will be something to get used to.

But I suppose having to fit 300 points in 15 models for Ariadna is a challenge in-of-itself, which a TAG could help a lot with.

We are forced to play with the same number of units as other faction, but we dont have half of the toys they have.
Ariadna is now probably the least played faction of the game (apart from tohaa). Is FAR behind in power and need a VERY DEEP rework. Simply they dont work in the 15 models limit.

Ariadna was not designed to play in the same terms than the other factios. Since N1, we overcome the tech disadvantage with more numbers. Now that is unfair and "not kosher".
