Malk won't get off this werewolf paranoia. Usually she's pretty reliable, but we've been keeping our eyes peeled and there's been no sign of them. The guys our host had us take care of sure as shit weren't werewolves, just weird paramilitary types. Still, we've decided to make a break for the east coast to shut her up, it's closer and more importantly very population dense, so it should hopefully assuage her werewolf fears. But it also means contact with other Cainites is more likely, especially Camarilla types that don't like our kind. Priest is already talking about needing to make emergency ghouls once we're past the blue ridge.

Wish us luck on the roads, we're leaving Fiendtown.

Your local lunatic isn't wrong. The wolves ARE watching you, but they aren't watching *you* exactly. They are watching your shadows from the space between light and shadow, watching the snarling curse that rides alongside our souls.
Odds are, they want to know if giving you all the Final Death would do anything useful in their eternal war against humanity's avarice, or if you are just trespassing where you don't belong.
Avoid anything reflective that is large enough for an angry dog to leap through until you put a hundred or so miles between you and where ever your oracle started freaking out.
I would HIGHLY suggest against making any ablative ghouls as well. They might not like humanity, but they hate us even more, and watching your pour your curse into another might flip the feral switch and send them moon mad after ya.

Got anything more actionable than "avoid mirrors", Mr. I Know Everything About Werewolves? They're magical savages, not noble savages. No such thing. I know silver is the only way to put them down short of hitting one with a truck and backing over it three times. Got a 12-gauge loaded with silver shrapnel right now.

Everything? Hardly. I just know more than most. It's not just mirrors. They were moving between worlds before mirrors existed, you know. It's any reflective surface. My first 'friendly' encounter started with them stepping out of a very shiny glacier cave wall I was hiding in.
They aren't savages either, even if they are savage. Nothing is stopping a wolf from dressing up like a Toreador going to Elysium or having a PhD. Do not think them simple beasts or brutes, even if they seem it.
Yes, silver is your best weapon against them, but your best defense is simply being beneath their notice. They have far better things to do spending their short lives on. You are making the best move and getting the fuck out of there.
That is really the single best move you can make if you suspect, even vaguely, that a pack of wolves is sniffing around you. Leave. Very fast and very far, before any of them decide to step out of a particularly shiny puddle.

Why do I keep coming here, every night it's some new flavor of 'hey, this might fucking kill you if you even think about it in the wrong way'. Jesus Christ.
Ignoring the whole eternal war on avarice thing, because I should probably annoy my Sire about elevated concepts, it's her favorite thing in the world to be high-concept, what actively would piss a werewolf off more than just being a vampire in their vague vicinity does? What specifically to avoid doing if I don't want to get their attention? It's probably not something in my control at all, since, again, my Sire's in the picture, and there's other vampires around, so I'm probably already not very interesting to whatever werewolves might be around, but just in case.

What, it actually for real works, like in fucking fairy tales? I guess that explains a whole lot about my Sire's decorations of choice. So much silvery shit. Even her fence seems to be made of the stuff. She doesn't seem to mind huge mirrors much, though; is there any way to make a reflective surface not let werewolves through?

Yeah but that 'most' still leaves a good window for original content, provided you act reasonable and don't make a hundred Methuselahs out of thin air. Besides, it's WoD, information is always flawed and most things are adjustible based on player and ST preference. Only a very deranged man is going to try to make Totentanz, Kuei-Jin, Mages and Mummies fit together, for instance. And ultimately, even splats themselves conflict about information, depending on the perspective. Look at how VtM treats the Beast vs what woofs say the Beast is. Imo if you're making a story, there always is going to be a narrative spot for an extra Methuselah, even in fifty years when there's a total of 500 named Methuselahs in official content. There's lots of options to make that work without any sort of canon bending and fuckery, too; for instance, check out the Feast of Folly, when Cappadocians got culled. 12,000 Cappadocian vamps, in the fucking Middle Ages. 12,000 vamps! From one clan! Sure, most of them were probably pretty fresh, and most of them died, and this was expressly an inordinate amount, but surely there were hundred of potential future Methuselahs there. And it wasn't even the full clan.

Update. Just got out of daysleep. Fuckin' hungry. Tried to make the argument we need shovelheads not ghouls but it didn't work. Which isn't surprising because it's a bad argument, I just don't want to be feeding a bunch of mortals. It's my blood and Ghouls piss me off. Disgusting junkie sycophants.

We're well out of the mountains now, can't even see the blue ridge anymore. Malk's partially calmed down. Hence why we need the ghouls. This is vampire country; we need protection against those who know how to hit us when we're asleep.

Nothing about last night made any sense. We stayed with that Tzimisce for three nights. We 86'd the world's best funded and worst trained hunters on the first night. Everything was silent for the next two, we know they didn't get a chance to signal for help. He'd held that domain, very unsubtly, for at least a century. But less than an hour after we leave and his haven is lit on fire? And it's a bad burn, turned into a small-scale forest fire before firemen put it out. Source: the internet. The timing is too specific to be a coincidence, but none of us saw it coming. Even the seer looked surprised when we saw the fire creep over the ridgeline, despite her harping on about not tarrying around the wolf. It's not even like that Tzimisce's domain was close to the mine, it was practically the over side of the state!

We're all headed out now to find ourselves some Renfields.

Now that is surprising! Is Paragon perhaps some form of mystical Terra Incognita? Should you desire something to occupy your time, Monsieur Shark, mayhaps you'd be willing to retrieve something from the Tremere chantry in Jacksonville? A small, oval gemstone about the size of a quarter, brilliantly green and perfectly smooth. It was embedded in the body of the late Prince/Sheriff and I'd like to study it.

Speaking of Princes, Harry and I managed to reunite with Baron Christopher and Monsieur Wu, whereupon we met with Prince Vigo. For a Gangrel, he's rather charming, even somewhat posh! Most of the talk was rather uninteresting: affirmations of a united front in the face of the Sabbat threat, discussions of resources that can be called upon, those sorts of things. Our next stop is Jaxport: Christopher received word of a boat that is due to arrive which is believed to be carrying additional weapons and fighters for the Sword of Caine. Since Jaxport is territory granted to the Giovanni by the former Prince, it would be unseemly for members of the Camarilla to be snooping around, so Christopher has offered to handle the situation as a gesture of friendship. Voyons ce qui se passe.

Sorry about your group disbanding.

Ignorance is bliss, but knowledge is power. Would you rather know how bad things really are before or after everything goes horribly wrong?
As for what actively pisses wolves off: The despoiling of nature. They worship the Earth Mother, and look at what humans, and by extension us, are doing to Her. Show you aren't about raping and pillaging the mother of all, and do a little ecological terrorism. Blow up an oil refinery, destroy a lumber mill, sink a fish trawler. Stuff like that.
Another tactic is to keep to the rhythm of life. We are static beings, locked in the moment of our deaths, unchanging and unnatural. Try to change, try to grow, try to act like you still have a heart beat and a belly that hungers for bread, not blood. Do not fall into the endless night routine like so many of our kind. The wolves can smell the pattern weaver upon you, and the second thing they hate the most is the pattern weaver. The pattern is also why your sire doesn't worry so much about having mirrors: The more static and stagnate a place is, the tighter the pattern between worlds, making it harder for the wolves to step between. Not impossible, but check if those mirrors are the classic silver backed sort. That's an extra layer of nope. If you want some subtle protection, get yourself a fist full of silver rings to wear. Both stylish and practical.
>>96700794
God forbid I share the experience I have with the young and ignorant about one of the few things lurking the night that even Elders shudder at the thought of. I have a very well earned respect for the eight foot tall walking murder machines, and you should too.

Waste of good goddamn blood... we got five mortals tied up in our temp haven, got them dosed with the first round of vitae. Two more nights of this crap and they'll be worth something. Nights like this I just feel the clan curse in the back of my throat, I wanna hit something.

>>96701053
English clearly isn't your first language if you think I'll need to worry about the Tzimisce. Fire that big? He's ash in the wind. That was an intentional burn, with clockwork precision right after we left. Final Death, no doubt about it. I'm trying to figure out the who and how. Also, we're well out of the mountains now. No more fucking werewolves. Now we just gotta be worried about Camarilla ghouls trying to torch us during the day.

>>96704016
God forbid you stop acting like an arrogant know-it-all is more like it. I've been Nomadic Sabbat for multiple decades, I know the basics of Werewolves. I've even had brushes with them before, one actually went violent. They're fast, they can come out of seemingly nowhere, their claws rip through almost anything, they don't fight fair and love jumping. Stay mobile, avoid anywhere with short lines of sight, avoid close combat. Silver bullets, the bigger the better. Best if you can single them out. Better if you can avoid them entirely. I respect them insofar as I respected a grizzly bear in life. I respect the threat they pose, but I don't respect them.

But this noble savage eco warrior crap is laughable. Besides which, if it actually was your tree-hugging dogmen behind the torching of our old host's haven, why the hell would they do an uncontrolled burn through an old forest? Doesn't make any damn sense. Cut the crap or shut the hell up.

Again, I don't know it all. But I know more than most. My knowledge is pretty out of date, been half a century and change since I had my last friendly encounter, but their traditions have remained mostly unchanged since the era of sharpened stone and agriculture being a novel concept.
You are quite correct in the best method of fighting them, but we both know fighting them is an absolutely horrible idea, only done when there is no other option or you have stacked the odds so heavily in your favor that only a fuck up of literally epic proportions could turn it against you.
And they are most certainly not noble savages. They are warriors fighting an endless war with no chance of victory, because no matter how much they rip and tear, humanity's industrial might is something that a few angry hounds simply can not overthrow. No matter how many lumberjacks, roughnecks, miners and other despoilers of the earth they rip apart, there are an endless tide of humanity ready to replace them.
As for why they would torch the forest, when was the last time that forest caught fire? Because forest fires are a natural part of the world, and there are many plants that actually rely on them. Certain evergreens have cones that ONLY open when they are exposed to a forest fire. Cleansing the undergrowth allows new life to spring forth. If a tree can not survive the inferno, it will topple and allow saplings the chance to reach the sky.
These are not green peace flag waving hippies preaching peace and love. They are the embodiment of the phrase "Nature is red in tooth and claw."

>Would you rather know how bad things really are before or after everything goes horribly wrong?
That's a really uncomfortable question to think about. I mean, I guess I prefer being safer, and I sure am now. But life was easier back when I didn't know all this shit. And I still know barely anything, which is really bad, because now I have a vague idea of just how much shit is out there, potentially interested in disassembling me. Shit's worrying.
And it's not like I can really choose ignorance know, I'm not going to just somehow forget I am a vampire or that there's fucking werewolves out there who would tolerate my existence only if I spent some time fucking with Big Oil and Big Lumber and maybe Big Fish. So I guess knowledge's preferable.
It still kind of sucks. Especially the feeling of relative powerlessness. Like, the first month I was a vampire, it felt kind of great. If I drank enough I could lift a fridge like it's nothing, and even the little bit of magic fuckery I could do beyond that was really something. I don't really have to fight people, but to have that sort of power felt really good.
And I just keep finding out how little it actually matters in the greater scheme of things. Apocalyptic prehistoric vamps, flesh-shapers, blood-sorcerers, fairies who I bet are also spooky, and now werewolves who can possibly gut me through the mirror above my bathroom sink. Obviously, I was even more of a potential victim before I got made into a vampire, and I'm way better off now, but still.
>Not impossible, but check if those mirrors are the classic silver backed sort.
I have absolutely no clue how to check for that, but I can try. Until I do so, I guess a bunch are really old, especially a big one she keeps in her reading room? It's also one of the places where she keeps a shiny, maybe-silver sword, now that I think about it. Can Werewolves see shit reflective surfaces? Could it be some sort of 'don't fuck with me, please' statement?

So they're all for survival of the fittest and nature being bloody, but they also don't like vampires more than humans, all while vampires seem like a sort of natural predator for humans. That sounds dumb, but I guess I'm not a nature-worshipping wolf man so I don't see the spiritual side of things, which apparently is there.
Thanks for the info, by the way, it's all appreciated. I'm definitely better off finding out werewolves exist now, and not when I see one step out of a reflective enough glass door or something.

If ye’ve not friends enough to face a werewolf, ye’d best start makin’ some. They’re brutish things, most fearsome when their blood is hottest, but dull of wit all the same. Easy enough to trick, to trap, and to bring down with numbers. They were a terror in my younger nights, when a gun spat but a single shot, but now? Ye can lace the air with silver before they’ve loosed so much as a growl.

Still, never let them catch ye unawares. Keep to the darkness, better yet, become the darkness, and let the beast wither from within before it even knows yer there.

If the mirrors weren't made in the last century, they are 100% silver backed. Hell, might just be highly polished silver. I'm not sure if wolves can see through reflective surfaces like a window. The space between they travel is, for lack of a better world, entirely based on vibes. Would you consider your vibes to be rancid and in need to cleansing from the world? How fares the countryside outlander? The Lycan have always assumed we are ridden with worms so they are hostile by default. We would probably get along much better if that assumption was disproven.
City folk like myself have been having a lot of trouble recently. the Methuselah has finally been steaked and shipped off to who knows where. It was an 5th Generation Brujah, turns out the coffin was found in ancient lebanon and moved here back in the 70s. It was being kept in the back of a museums deep storage until he woke up, very very hungry. My phone started telling me to HIDE about an hour before, so i heeded the clear warnings.
The city is going to take months to recover, we lost a good dozen or so locals.

Good night to all.

I am posting on behalf of a group interested in locating a Tzimisce fugitive. She most frequently refers to herself as 'Countess Palatine', Palatine for short from here on, because there's far too many Countesses to use that part of her title. She far too frequently goes through pseudonym given names, so listing any would be worthless. We've not thus far managed to tie her to a specific mortal identity, which is unsurprising given that she probably last was physically capable of passing for a regular mortal a long while ago. She still appears to be fairly old. Her latest period of activity dates back to around a month ago, focused on the East Coast of United States, specifically in Connecticut, but following our discovery of her activities and disruption of her efforts, she appears to have relocated elsewhere, possibly not to usual Sabbat strongholds.

The Prince of Bridgeport and surrounding areas offers appropriate rewards, from simple money and other physical objects to favors and such, to whoever provides valuable information on the location of the Palatine, or brings her corpse in. He also wishes to extend a warning to avoid dealing with her, as she's proven to be on the more dangerous and reckless end of the Sabbat spectrum, though I'd imagine that much is obvious. I've been encouraged to answer questions about her habits, her underlings, as well as her creations, if necessary, along with most other topics.

Attached is a reproduction of a portrait from one of her Havens. The original had a pulse, naturally.

The frightening thing, Mark thought to himself, is that Detective Malkavian is actually an okay detective. Sure he’s talking to himself half the time, muttering about dutch angles (abhorrent) and modern media (horiffying), but he’s pursuing leads. He’s interviewing, he’s investigating. The last person to see the necklace, the local pawn shops, the local mystics. As a gumshoe, Detective Malkavian was okay. As a modern day detective, using the electric tools and surveillance, he was hopeless.

Mark didn’t know how old Detective Malkavian was but old enough, was his guess. That didn’t matter much to Mark. He didn’t actually want to solve mysteries, he hated mysteries. The chill up the spine was a clear sign for him to exit. On the rare chance that, despite his best efforts, a mystery found him, he reacted the same. He froze, he was aware of course. He wasn’t passed out. He turned rigid, like a statue. This had been how his sire had taken him, and it was his constant of these nights.

“Detective” He said trying to keep a happy infliction out of his voice “Another Dead End, Eh? Time to call it a night?” But Detective Malkavian was nothing if not determined. “No, we will have to use our enhanced methods.” The Detective nodded “Yes, I’ll need to speak with Tod.” “Todd?” Mark asked and when the detective nodded a second time, "Tod." Mark relaxed. Finally, something normal.

The next day, at the Abandoned Slaughterhouse, Mark realized that perhaps it would not be so normal. When he started seeing the stitched together statues, he realized. It would not be normal. Still Mark, the thrilling spring-steel of his nerves vibrating at an increasing frequency carried on. He would not disappoint his Saviour and sponsor. He stepped forward as Detective Malkavian sang out “Tod, Tod!” which echoed against the steel of the slaughterhouse.
Anonymous No.96715764 [Report] >>96715769

It was then that Mark felt the hand against his shoulder from out of the darkness. He tried to scream but he could not , he tried to run but mark could not. He watched as Tod, walked by him. He looked skeletal but his ribs were too big , they were rent open and bent, moving, like a bug or eventually it dawned on Mark. Like a centipede. Mark watched in pant-pissing terror as the creature looked back, his face bisected. The Top half looking human almost mirthful from his top lip and up. A normal lip, a normal nose, a normal cheekbones, a normal set of eyes, a normal forehead. The bottom-half looked like something enlarged from a national geographic about ants, it was full of fangs, and mandibles and stiff bristling hairs.

It looked back glibly at Mark, seemingly recognizing and chortling at Mark’s paralysized terror as it carefully bringing a skeletal finger to it’s horror of a mouth as if to Shhhhhhh Mark before returning to creep on Detective Malkavian. He took one lurching but silent step as Detective Malkavian called out “Tod Tod” before checking back on Mark, posively gleeful but silent.

Two steps and looking at Mark again

Three steps and then

Mark wanted to warn Detective Malkavian but he couldn’t. The Two long skeletal creature with the Centipede middle leapt on the Malkavian, his middle wrapping about him like a bug his too tall arms. He wanted to help his mentor and sponsor , he wasn’t a coward. But he couldn’t do anything. He couldn’t move, he couldn’t speak.

He could only watch.

Thank you, that is appreciated. In the case your Calliente, whatever they are exactly, doesn't recognize the title or the portrait, they may recognize the Palatine's handiwork, a thing called Mutihorn. It's still alive, if Tzimisce warbeasts count as alive. I'll need a bit to get the image we have of it, and censor some very particular elements of it. The thing is very, very conspicuous, and I personally suspect that she must've either had help making it, or at least bragged about it to other flesh-shapers of note, given how much trouble it gave me, the Prince, and my coterie every time any of us had the misfortune of encountering it.
>>96707453
On the subject of horrifying beasts, do you (or anybody else with experience in the matter) have any pointers for attempting diplomacy with werewolves? I believe I may have to do some in near future. Fleeing is not an option for me, and neither is trying to throw numbers at the pack in question. Do offerings of notable ecologically-damaging individuals, or some sort of specific items, help? Blowing up oil rigs and so on would be a bit much, but I think me and mine can manage to find a sufficiently replaceable oil executive or something equivalent.
And what else is there, besides offerings, being less of a problem than something else, and having common enemies?

And here is Mutihorn.
I can offer the following, if lacking, insight in the case you encounter this specific thing, or ones made with it as a template, which is a fairly concerning probability. Overall, high ground and tight spaces are an intuitive, yet sort of advantage to use against it. The thing is flexible enough to force itself into small buildings, strong enough to break through very thick, strong walls, and it can leap to frightening heights, along with bending its limbs at angles sufficient to, if violently and destructively, scale buildings. Its flesh regenerates with horrifying speed, its 'mane' and 'tail' are prehensile, usually at the worst and least expected times, its eyes operate individually, letting it focus on threats from all angles, and the gut-arms can open. Also, the fluids it spreads are a sort of alive acid, a mess of microorganisms that seek to dissolve flesh to multiply. It is very prone to charging at things if it can, so it is somewhat possible to bait it into doing that. Once it picks up sufficient speed, 70 or so miles an hour or more, it seems to struggle somewhat with steering. Which is usually a problem for whatever is in its way, not for itself.
It is not very pleasant to deal with.

Thank you for your advice and assistance. If I do not get incenirated by werewolf claw within a few months, I'll probably have this place to thank for that.
>I am sure you've got the coin to achieve such.
Easily, I was a yuppie in mortal life and my Sire insists I maintain that lifestyle and the income. My accountant will not be content with me buying a random piece of, let's say, Maine land for 'recreational purposes', especially since it'd really be just a dead weight I'd be best off eventually signing off to some sort of wildlife charity as to not have it hang over me uselessly, but getting chewed out by a mortal is an okay price for having a bargain chip with the werewolves. I'm surprised just bribing them with nature preserves isn't a more common strategy of dealing with them, if it actually works.
I guess they don't quite tolerate oil spills trying to game the eco-warfare system. Hopefully it works out at least once.

May you return safely.

She's somehow worse in-person. Those little spider-bug legs have to skitter a lot on account of that her 'dress' is a weird, flat slug-like foot concealing extra limbs and tools. At least while I had to deal with her, she put on this slightly whimsical, noble lady routine, especially when talking about her magic unicorn. And the hat talks. Mostly gibberish, but still. Our Prince considered trying to goad the werewolves into solving this problem for us, but unfortunately, they proved extremely annoying to even try contacting, and given some of the things the Mutihorn did, I'm starting to worry them being more reclusive than usual, while we were dealing with the Palatine, was a matter of experience and a lack of desire for further casualties.
>>96720683
Oh, hopefully she does know something, then. No matter if she does, please, offer her the kindest regards from the Kindred of Bridgeport, and an apology if our history with the Palatine upsets her in some way.
>Quite the Vohzd!
I am not entirely sure it is exactly one of those; while I am fortunate to not have seen any Tzimisce things in-person before dealing with the Palatine's, I've gone through some archives and documentation. There are some differences from the usual Vozhd template. For starters, it had a sort of intelligence, howling from its mouths to mimic voices, though it had only so many vocal chords to work with and didn't seem to wholly understand how speech works. We've seen it feed on Kine. Its teeth and horn at times hurt Kindred flesh as bad as fire does. Maybe the thing is a Vozhdt built on a frame of a vampire, or with werewolf pieces, or it's just what happens when a Tzimisce labors on a Vozhd extensively? I'm unsure.
>i think you could possibly lure the hideous mess over a canyon? let it go splat perhaps?
There's very few usable places like that near Bridgeport. We tried to hit it with a freight train, and that mostly slowed it down for the time it needed to repair itself.

That's useful information. Thats about 30-60 MW of energy and from the sounds of it, forced the creature to its knees (well ahh arm enwrapped subfaces) until it could recover. How long it took to repair itself would be useful. Presuming the lower end for Freight trains ( as I doubt you have convenient trains loaded to the max with iron ore) and the attack being the one it liked has the most resistance to normally unsupernatural blunt kinetic force, you could likely get away with weapons in the 3 MW range repeatedly striking it. Or perhaps even one attack with a more favourable damage? I doubt it loves fire, 3MW is roughly 100 lbs of dynamite for example. Its guesswork but that's a very doable number. Even if its a ton of dynamite, still very much in reach with only basic logistics. at 100lbs that's roughly five stingers or maybe 25 RPG-7's. Hell most air to surface missiles should be able to roast the thing.

This is what I dislike, all of that suffering for what. To bully people on foot? Peasents. Would not your effort have been better directed to just embracing an emotionally disturbed delinquent if that was your purpose? Hell a handful of ghouls would do better. Instead we have this Eyesore and Masquerade breach wandering around because some idiot from the 17th century couldn't get over hands.

It's tiresome. However, it does bring to mind a certain question. Given how in human warfare, dominant air power is, Do kindred keep an Airforce? Sure everyone loves the party van full of ghouls in maxtac outfits, but at the higher levels of military coordination say the wing or company. How many do you have stuck in ready to pull a heatseeking missile for you in the middle of an urban zone? The military for all its faults, loves the sun. Sure ghouls, but still. A private kindred Airforce. Has charm.

So quick asks if anyone knows this for sure. But say a vampire gets frozen solid during the depths of winter. To the point all of the blood in your body freezes and your flesh goes full on ice mummy. Will a vampire die if that happens to them? Or will will just go into torpor or be paralyzed and awake the whole time we are frozen?

Also if we are frozen like that and we live what happens to us if we get touched by fire in that state or get exposed to the dim rays of the winters sun? Do we still burn to the finale death like normal? Or is our body so cold and solid at that point we can not burn anymore as long as we stay in our frozen environment and condition?

Or something that has most likely been tested and experimented with more often by our more underwater inhabiting kin. If we are fully submerged under water like in a pool do we still fear fire as i know at that point we will not be burned by it? And will the sun still kill us if we are submerged in clear waters?

Is water truly our best defense from fires of all kinds? Or is that just a dead end for research and i am just wasting my endless time looking for protections that are just not there to find?

I mean old Lasombra was a sea born pirate for many many years before he got tired of the waves. And he still ventured under water to the depths of the seas all the time for long periods of time if the old stories the elders tell about him are true. What was he looking for in the waters of the world if he spent so much of his unlife on or under the waves away from the blood of humans and his fellow kindred that he needed to even keep on existing?

Does water have any magical powers to protect us at all from the wrath and rage of the flames? Or have the waters of life truly left us for dead?

I mean at a certain point the Fiends will have fucked up there victims bodies so much that there is no way for them to survive without our blood flowing thru what is left of the poor fuckers veins. So they have to be gouled at that point at least. And the Tzimisce will never stop with there experiments with the flesh and blood of others until even a ghouls body gives out. So at that point if a Fiend wants to keep going even further with that pile of meat it has left it will have to turn it into a vampire to keep working with it.

Now that real thing to ask is if a Tzimisces art project that it was working on since the poor fucker was still human but died and was turned into a vampire by the blood of the Tzimisce ever learned enough flash crafting from what was being done to it by its sire that such a broken soul was ever able to fix its self enough to regain enough control of its own life that it was able to save its self from its master and run away and escape and make a new life for its self as a clanless Tzimisce vampire?

>So quick asks if anyone knows this for sure. But say a vampire gets frozen solid during the depths of winter. To the point all of the blood in your body freezes and your flesh goes full on ice mummy. Will a vampire die if that happens to them? Or will will just go into torpor or be paralyzed and awake the whole time we are frozen?
I am relatively certain you would not die if you were completely frozen, though it would not be an enviable position to be in.

I am, however, quite confident that a frozen vampire will still burn if touched by the light of Ra,.

>Or something that has most likely been tested and experimented with more often by our more underwater inhabiting kin. If we are fully submerged under water like in a pool do we still fear fire as i know at that point we will not be burned by it? And will the sun still kill us if we are submerged in clear waters?
You will still burn even while underwater, should the accursed light of Ra fall upon you. The lightless depths offer sanctuary, though you will probably have trouble finding sustenance. Monsieur Shark can probably provide more details on a watery existence. Whether the sight of fire induces Rötschreck even underwater will most likely depend upon the strength of your will, as it does with every vampire.

Going to the 'burbs was a bad idea. Making a bunch of ghouls was a worse one. Even though we've been moving around it seems that many disappearances in a not totally shitty county caught the attention of a vampire. Werewolves might be big and scary, but nobody understands how to kill a vampire better than another vampire. We're out of our element, Nomads that we are.

Malk and I were out on a midnight stroll, scouting for signs of Camarilla activity incognito. Priest said that we'd been at each other's throats and so needed to work it out. As we're walking across a bridge, we see three people in decent clothes, kinda preppy. All of them looked alive. Blush of life is a bitch. Right as we're walking past and I'm debating on if they're good prey, the one in the front says something like "excuse me sir", I turn to face him, meet his eyes and he says "could you STOP MOVING for a moment?" he didn't scream the stop but it stuck in my end. I couldn't move, I stood there mesmerized. His cronies, a man and a woman, jumped my packmate in the same motion. Man held her down, woman gouged her eyes. I wanted to rip their fucking heads off, but I couldn't. The Ventrue, I know that's what he is, gave me this shit eating grin as he pulled a short blade from inside his coat. He said some shit to me, I can't remember the details, then put his boot on my packmates' forehead and cut clean through her neck.

Her blood, I'd tasted it dozens of times before in the vinculum. This time it smelled so sweet. I wasn't hungry, I've been feeding just fine I swear but something in me snapped. I felt the beast overtake me in a way it's never overtaken me before. I came to under the bridge. They must've knocked me off it to escape my frenzy. She was afraid of wolves in the dark and it was some whelp ventrue bitch fuck that killed her! This can't stand. Nobody fucks with my pack. We'll burn the county to the ground to avenge her if we have to.

I've got three jobs pending on upwork but I can't get to them because the dickhead self-appointed leader of the coterie has decided that tonight's a good time to scope out a neighbouring Anarch domain for any "opportunities". Whatever he lacks in forethought he surely makes up for in hubristic ambition. As the group's sole and esteemed thinblood, I've been tasked with driving everyone to said Anarch domain later this afternoon. It's about a four hour drive so we'll have to leave early and if all things go well, we'll get there by sunset.

Now, just because I'm thinblooded doesn't mean it's easy for me to drive while the sun's out. I still don't understand why that blue blooded bastard couldn't just get one of his ghouled "captains" to drive us there or why we needed to go there in person at all. I've half a mind to drop his sleeping corpse somewhere bright and sunny. I really, really hope that the Anarch doesn't take this road trip as an act of aggression because I have no idea what the six of us are supposed to do against a pissed off lick on their home turf.

The Ventrue on this site actually convinced me that the Ventrue are all intelligent and strategic vampires who value competence and success. My Ventrue—let's just call him Vinnie—is an egomaniac who just has to have last word no matter what.

But enough self-pity. Does anyone have any advice on staying alive while stuck with a wannabe Prince?

HEAVILY depends on circumstances and that particular person’s willpower/determination. Well, as a Ventrue who is, I guess, aberrant like your Vinnie, albeit in different ways, I would suggest aiming his neuroses in a productive fashion. We're stubborn and headstrong as clan traits, perhaps as some sort bleedover aspect of Fortitude being our brand.
So, you can't fix Vinnie, Vinnie is going to be stuck like this for the rest of his unlife. Therefore, you should just work with what he is. He wants to always win arguments? That's fine. Let him. It being that easy to placate him is convenient, you can give him what he wants, he'll be happy, you'll be happy because he'll be less annoying. He makes risky calls, like that Anarch drive? Not great, but you can still work with that, mostly by way of throwing ideas before him in just the right way, let him think he's come up with them, and also making it so he is the one responsible for those ideas more often. It's hard to manage, sure, but a proper Ventrue feels responsibility, not just a sense of superiority. Your Vinny should have a gnawing in the back of his head whenever he tries to make a call to be there and make sure the call is correct, that the plan he proposes goes through, so on and so on.

It's attractive in its own way, but my fascination with the amount of work and ritualistic complication required to make a death-unicorn is somewhat sabotaged by that I nearly got mauled by said death-unicorn. It went from 'vaguely horse-shaped sack of organs and bone chunks' to 'again running around faster than a thing that size should' in five or so minutes. Bones snapped back in place and reformed from pulverized chunks in maybe half a minute, with flesh reforming slower but still visibly and effectively. I'll try out that strategy. Vinnie seems to think he's a special case. He's let it slip in the past when he was in a particularly indignant mood that he was only embraced around 17 years ago. Forgive me if I'm wrong but that's a bit young for a Ventrue to be running around indepedently isn't it?

Anyways, based on what I've gathered from the rest of the coterie, we're all here thanks to boons that Vinnie (or his sire—probably his sire) accrued over that time and decided to cash out last year. I don't have the full picture yet but these are what I think are the motives of each member of the gang, not their real names:
>Lorna, Nosferatu, 33 years dead—the oldest one among us. Some time ago, she moved out of the city's common Nos tunnels. Vinnie had a role in getting her all the hardware she wanted and access to the internet
>David, Toreador, 27 years dead—pretty straightforward actually, David is obsessed with swords. Vinnie got him a big fancy sword—a Damascus Zweihander, I think he called it—from a master swordsmith back in Europe. That's it. This was back before the big HEMA boom so I guess it was harder to get your hands on stuff like that back then. Sword enthusiasts, please feel free to chime in.
>Blair, Brujah, 25 years dead—Former shovelhead. There was a pretty big Sabbat attack during the turn of the millennium. From what I hear, it was a week long blitzkrieg. The Camarilla managed to finish off the invading pack after taking heavy kindred and kine casualties. The survivors set up an accelerated Adoption and Accounting scheme where any willing ancilla or elder could adopt a shovelhead of their choosing in exchange for a reward from the Prince. Blair was one such adoptee. I haven't been able to figure out who her adoptive Sire is yet though my prime suspect is the current Brujah Primogen. Much like myself, she's here out of an obligation to her sire.
>Diana, Gangrel, 25 years dead—Also former shovelhead, same deal as Blair.

Well, I've been dead for just five years, and my Sire insists on making me operate mostly autonomously with the coterie I am not quite willingly managing. He maintains this approach to a reasonable degree, stepping in during incidents like the Palatine, where he anyways is compelled to act due to his rank. That's all good, by my personal assessment - I am a Ventrue, it is my right and my duty to be the one raising a sword when needed, as opposed to letting somebody else risk themselves by doing so.

While I do not have the right to disclose in-clan proceedings and customs, I believe it would not be a shocker to say that every Ventrue Sire approaches the matter of heirs slightly differently, but there are some pronounced approaches. Some do prefer a sink-or-swim approach, as to build up autonomy and independence and a lack of reliance on Sire babysitting, which is somewhat my case, for what I believe to be fairly good for me in the long run reasons. Some instead prefer to very carefully groom and raise their Childe, letting them act at all in the night only after a decade or two of tutoring.

I've even met a fairly old Ventrue who were raised from actual childhood to the age of twenty-five by their Sire, then Embraced, then taught everything there is to vampiric life for somewhere in the ballpark of fifty years, before they ever walked in the night alone. The result was fearsome, to be sure, and exceedingly wise, as illustrated by that they did survive for centuries afterwards. So, Vinnie, in the grand scheme of things, certainly is a more sink-or-swim sort of Childe. Seems to be either a result of his attitude, or perhaps the cause of it. Could also be that his Sire is just not in the picture whatsoever, and he's just keeping it a secret to avoid letting it be known that he's an orphan? That's a risky thing to be.

People like to quake and shiver at the weird clans with the weird disciplines, but in matters of scale, their mastery of the mind is worse in my reckoning. It's easy to beat up a durable rich kid with hypnotism if you know what you're doing, but these fucks can turn anyone and everyone into a Manchurian Candidate, attacking us with mortals without threatening their little masquerade.
Anonymous No.96736826 [Report] >>96741377

The worst part is that Ventrue do not even need there mind control tricks to get mortals to kill vampires without breaking there masquerade. There real trick is that they know how money and power works better than anyone else in the entire world.

If they want you dead all they have to do is pay a dirtbag gangbanger or a crazy pyromaniac to burn down any hiding place you are hiding from the sun. And there never needs to be any magic of any kind involved at any point. So even if you have set up some form of magical defenses or detection you most likely wont see you killer coming after you as anything more than the normal human it is before they burn you to death in your sleep.

Real power is not about the big shows of force that get you attention. It is about getting rid of problems without making even more problems later for yourself.

Your pride and anger are telling you to say in the city and get even with the ones that killed your pack mate. Your reason and logic are telling you to cut and run from the city before the sky falls on you and the rest of your pack. If you want to live to see the next night you should listen to reason.

Umm look i know you are trying to be proactive about a actual and vary big problem we vampires have to deal with now in this new digital age. And i thank you and the rest of your clan for putting so much time and effort into protecting all of us from the threats and ravages of this new age.

But the problem is that every supernatural being i have ever heard of that manipulates and controls technology with there personal abilities and magics does so by being born with the powers and abilities to mess with technology.

Asking the Tremere to set up blood magic protections on our computers so as to help protect us all from being killed from our monitor screens. Well that would be much like asking an average professional swimmer to out swim the fastest fish in the world in a race. It just will not work out for any of us vary well if we place that bet.

If we were to protect ourselves in the way you are asking us to we would need a entirely new bloodline of vampires to arise that have an entirely new and powerful discipline that is all about interacting with and controlling technology in the ways our fellow night folks do so.

If we can not do that. And i do not think that is a hidden power of the blood that we can ever gain. Well we would just be much like Sisyphus trying to uselessly roll a boulder up a mountain for the rest of time. We will never outmatch those that are born to that kind of power with our knockoff bootstrapped versions of Technomancy.

Sadly the elders may be right once more and it is just for the best of us all if we have nothing to do with and form of advanced technology anymore lest it be used to destroy us. The luddite path may be the only real path forward left to us anymore.

Just got to the outskirts of the Anarch Domain. Blair's taken the driver's seat. Lorna's giving us a brief history of the area. This place started out as a logging camp in the late 1800s. Some time in the 1960s, several manufacturing companies came to town and set up shop due to easy access to the railroad and fresh water from the nearby river. With the factories came the Anarchs who claimed the town as their own. Even back in its heyday, the population of the never exceeded a hundred thousand and that number has dropped precipitously since the 80s. Vinnie estimates that based on current population size, there are probably only three or four of the Anarchs left.

We're approaching the center of the town now, I haven't seen a single person outside the entire time—no cops, no homless, no gangs, nothing. It gives me the creeps. Maybe the people around here are early sleepers? I dont like it.

I've run from threats before, survived on the backroads most Cainites are too terrified to even look at. I was brought into unlife in a mass embrace, thrown at the Camarilla like canon fodder. I know the risks. I'm not going to spend eternity as a coward who let the murder of his packmate by some up-jumped lordling slide. Nossie located one of the ghouls and his house. No sign of the other or the master. We're going to torture the truth out of the bastard, then I'm going to drain the son of a bitch dry, and then I'll diablerize his shithead master.

If that is your way than so be it. Just one more thing then i will stop bothering you. Have you and your pack had a funeral for your lost Malk pack mate or any of your other lost family yet?

If not and you and yours still care about such things do so now. As you will likely never have another chance to do so after this night. And it may be for the best that you dig graves for your selves as well. The Camarilla can never let punk Sabat rebels like you win in the long run. Ever. The rest of the Camarilla will have to put you down or they will lose face. And they can not stand that at all.

I frenzied after she got dusted. Couldn't recover the body, what would've been left after the ashes anyway.

Her funeral will be the butchery of her murderers. We only need his head. We can run to hills where no member of the Camarilla can follow afterwards. That's contingent on getting him before his back-up arrives. We still have him four to one, not factoring in ghouls. I know there's a good chance his backup has already arrived.

But something deep within me tells me I can do this. I've felt different ever since we confronted those things in the abandoned mine. Tougher. Keener. Hungrier. Can't quite explain it. I've been eating more. I've been taking hits that should've hurt me. I'll kill him.

Unfortunately, my clan does not hold a monopoly over stern appearances or good sense of dress. Though that still does mean that Vinnie may have some sort of backing, whether out of Sire-Childe ties or even debt; it doesn't matter which too much, because somebody who Vinnie owes to will still be liable to vouch for him, just for the return on their investment if nothing else. It could be good to try and goad him into revealing more through an egotist angle; discuss somebody's high-and-mighty Sire, see if that elicits him bragging about his.

Torpor.
Sun hits you, you're donezo; especially if the Ice/water is clear enough to act as a sort of magnifying glass. Same principle as why the Livin' get sunburns after snorkling the day away. Now, Murky waters or the alluviel soil just in a lake. That will protect you from the sun. AND be a good huding spot from any air breathing pursuers if things get pear shaped. Most licks are wise to this trick though, so move fast. Especially if it's in the ocean.

>Would you consider your vibes to be rancid and in need to cleansing from the world?
I mean, I guess I am not a very good person. Never really tried very hard to be good, didn't work in soup kitchens or volunteer to clean beaches or something. And my way of not flunking out of college was probably a bit amoral. Outright 'rancid' is a stretch, though, given what some people apparently do in their very long unlife-time.
>Kindred are not natural. We are walking corpses that burst into flames if exposed to direct sunlight, can defy the literal laws of physics with our disciplines, and remain completely unchanged by the ravages of time until our final death. We are a blockage in the cycle of life.
I mean, I guess I can see that, but only if I presume that nature by default doesn't have vampires in it. We're pretty unnatural from a standpoint of nature under which vampires don't exist, as a start, and are a not very scary fairy tale, secondly. But, like, if werewolves, who apparently are killing machines who can step through reflective surfaces and might consider a blown off limb a minor inconvenience, are entirely natural, it feels strange to single us out.

Wait so is that how forest living vampires get away with living outside of city's all the time? A Gangrel will just swim out and down to the bottom of a vary deep lake or river, reach the bottom, then just dig down into the mud and muck or use protein to sink beneath the earth down there so nether the sun or other assholes will bother or find them.

And now that i think about it that must also be how the Nosferatu lived and survived until city's worth a damn were formed that had sewers worth hiding in. The Nosferatu must be the source of all the old legends of bloated corpses rising from the rivers, lakes, and seas to drag unsuspecting folks to there graves with them under the water.

I think nature just picks favorites when it comes to supernatural beings like us and werewolves. It is why the wolves have all kinds of nature themed powers and we do not for the most part. Unless you are a Gangrel. But those guys keep saying that there clans founder was a wolf herself or was born from them at least. Before Cain or the second generation got to her that is.

Now that i think of it. You guys know about those strange humans that hang around the werewolves and do not freak out when they go full killing machine mode right? I think they are called familyfolk or kin by the werewolves. And messing with or trying to feed on them pisses the wolves off the most when we do that. sometimes even more than when we get lucky and kill one of the werewolves themselves does?

Do you all think that the Gangrels clan founder was one of these werewolves familyfolk and that is why she and her clan have so many nature an animal powers and abilities? She was literally supernaturally related and connected to nature like the werewolves are on a blood and spiritual level? At least until she was killed and turned into a vampire that is.

Do not your own elders not know blood sorcery themselves? Like i do not know if this is true or not but i heard that once a Nosferatu gets really old they stop finding snooping and spying on everybody to be rewarding or interesting anymore. And they just leave that work to the younger members of the clan.

These old Nosferatu are still obsessed with finding and hording secrets. They are just no longer interested in the nightly drama and petty politics of there youth. So now a nights they go after the real secrets of the world. Such as the secrets of clan disciplines or magic of all kinds.

So like should not a bunch of your clans elders not be masters of blood magics or other forms of magic themselves at this point? Maybe try asking around the elders of your clan to see if you can shake out some protections from them first. That must be a cheaper and safer way of doing things than asking the other clans to protect you from outsiders and cyber mages and werewolves that can shoot you with plasma guns thru your computer screens.

Here's a basic ritual I've seen be posted and then scrubbed like twelve times by now. It works perfectly well, and I give it as a freebie out of mild antritribal spite, and also because I hate wizards. A strong will can still break through this sort of defense with ease, but you don't want a perfect defense, you want something functional, so here you go.
>ingredients required for optimal and easiest results, as optimal as a minor ritual can get, really: dried blood turned to powder, any seems to work, but human is best, vitae probably works even better but I don't feel like risking mine for this, small paint brush, scotch tape, water, lots of paper, somebody who can draw the same set of symbols and not bitch about menial work. SOME vitae is required as a minimum, to give power to the rite, but you can get away with very little, but in the mass of it it'll add up. This isn't a one-and-done ritual. Stronger vitae seems to boost the effect.
>make a thick blood-paste of sorts, basically blood paint.
>take a piece of paper.
>draw a circle using the paste. You can replace the paste with regular paint or, really, any material that'd jut out from its surroundings, but blood seems to work okay as conduit of vampiric power.
>line the outside of the circle with 'T's, having them jut out of the circle while not crossing it. Actively think of them as of breaching a connection between something, as to grant them meaning.
>Draw two interlocking diamonds in the center of the circle. Cut your finger (the damage is necessary for the ritual). Droplet of vitae (from anywhere, really) goes in the interlocking point.
>Line the inside of the circle with words describing what you need protected from interference. More words can bring specifics. More on that later, if you want me to go into the details.
>Attach the paper to, for instance, a server you wish to protect.
>If it works as it should, the server is now somewhat disconnected from the outside world; Obfuscated, in a way.

Here is a short synopsis, I don't have much time. I've simmered down somewhat from my previous posts. My pack encountered some weird cannibal troglodyte things in deep coal country. We ended up killing them all, but it was difficult, there were like 50 of them. I'm a Brujah Antitribu. We frenzy easily, and during our little operation I was burning through blood quick and frenzied due to the heat of battle and hunger. Apparently, I ripped through quite a few of them in that state. The pack's other dedicated warrior, our Gangrel. Country, not city, got put into torpor during the fight, and the rest of us weren't looking so good. Thus, we withdrew to friendly territory. Our Priest knew vaguely of a Tzimisce in the area, friend of her sire or something like that. I'm not sure if he was "quite powerful", people tend to give Tzis more credit than they're due a lot of time due to wearing their abilities on their sleeve, but he was an older ancilla with a pretty good sized, albeit quite backwater, domain.

He told us we could stay for a couple of nights, but any longer than that and we would need to do something for him. Hunters, he guessed, were scoping his territory out. So we dealt with them. Though if they were hunters, they weren't very good ones. Despite having some military grade gear, there was nothing anti-vampire in their arsenal. During the brief fight, I took a shotgun flush on the chest but half of the pellets didn't even pierce the skin. That's when I first noticed any changes. My late packmate, rest her, got colicky about wolves and we left. Right after we did, a raging fire overtook our former host's domain entirely. 99% sure he's gone.

I'm interested in hearing your "contagion" theory, but it's go time. I probably won't be around until I've drunk the hearts blood of the man who killed my packmate.

Very well. I'd like to first acknowledge that this is going to be a fairly raw theory, built off of guesswork. For instance, I don't know what those creatures you probably ate are, and while I doubt they're some sort of walking power-boosters on their own, and were utterly unrelated to the oh-so-conveniently-nearby Tzimisce, both are not improbable. I'll still discard that for now and build on the contagion theory.

I will start with a historical excurse written with presumption that you return from your vengeance mission, best of luck on it.

Tzimisce are not quite my usual field of interest, and this is more an interesting incident I've caught references to in several places, enough so that I started gathering details and building up a narrartive of sorts out of disparate pieces. Some hunter documentation hamming it up as a near-apocalyptic event they barely stopped, God be praised and so on, notes of another Tremere I worked with, who was kind enough to share that one time a Prince was actually helpful and stepped in timely, that sort of opaque stuff. I am not exactly on the top of the Pyramid, so while I have access to some fun things, I still am reasonably limited. So, keep in mind that fine details are liable to be wrong.

Sometime around Christmas of 1888, in Buenos Aires, some cops raided the wrong cargo boat, and found very strange vials aboard. It was a shipment belonging to Tzimisce cultists - specifically a group of the 'try and bring the Antedeluvian back in some way' sort. They caught it by pure chance, seeking to catch regular drug trafficking, and since the initial discoverers were just corrupt, not ghouled, they didn't know what this strange, bloodlike, thick substance was, but figured it was freaky and worth confiscating.

It proved to be mass-vialed vitae claimed to be sourced from a Tzimisce Elder. Methuselah, possibly, if not higher.
LavenderLevinbolt No.96753026 [Report] >>96753070 >>96755695
>>96752998
Every local group had some cops on their payroll or under thrall, so everybody very quickly heard about the vials, and a huge amount were stolen from police custody basically overnight. The total count of the vials was under a hundred, most likely, and above a few dozen easily, because there's been several dozen vampires recorded as having taken one, but in the chaos and confusion some may have been missed, not every vial was consumed, and many, many KIndred took more than one vial.

But, yes, somebody very quickly had the bright idea to force-feed a vial to a fledgling to see what happens.

The results were fairly intriguing. Drink a vial, you get stronger; a notable edge over Kindred of your own level, albeit not a huge one, but still, it's a great boon. To be even a tenth more than you already are - that's the sort of thing a lot of people are willing to sell their souls for, much less drink Methuselah juice.

Drink several, your own blood fairly quickly grows more potent. What's more, with time, even people who drank just one vial would find themselves changing, bit by bit, with power building up in them. Accelerated regeneration, fleshcraft of an instinctive, basic level, other disciplines they had no right of manifesting. Naturally, things very quickly devolved into a mostly-off-the-record war for the vials; everybody was interested in getting more of them than the competition, either to themselves take them, or to torch them out of fear of what they could do. Most people drank them, naturally. Then, when the vials themselves started to run short, somebody had the bright idea of diablerizing those who consumed a vial, to take it in along with the vampire's own blood.
LavenderLevinbolt No.96753070 [Report] >>96753161 >>96755695
>>96753026
The diablerie craze very quickly turned into a period of panic, as side effects of the vials started to show, especially among the highest in generation and those who took the vials long ago. Some would remember things they really had no reason to, their personality drifted towards the usual dark triad lineup, they grew more violent, at first under good pretexes, but with no reason at times. In some more advanced cases there was even physical warping of features into something monstrous; horns, scales, sinews, the works. The hunter notes features guesswork that a more subtle psychological effect must've been some sort of draw to the holders of the vials, not even users; forcing them together and into the open. That'd explain why very, very few Kindred during the incident just hid from discovery and laid low.

The strangest part was, Kindred sufficiently along the progression of this disease-in-a-vial, either due to time or due to overconsumption, seemingly lost their ties to their clan. A few records outline that a Sabbat-aligned Brujah, down on his luck and on the run from his clique, tried to start a new one, and every vampire he sired and hit over the head with a shovel, as is the custom, came out as a Tzimisce one. Not an ounce of Brujahness to them.

The outrbreak's peak, not in numbers but in notoriety, was when there were only three vial-drinkers left, all turned to vial-Tzimisce things, and all three basically spent every night beating the shit out of each other and locals in an attempt to diablerize people. It got so bad, there were confirmed sightings of several packs of were-crocodiles, who were ignoring local Kindred in favor of trying to take out the vial-Tzimisce, Hunters both local and from North America were heading to Argentina, local Camarilla was trying exceedingly hard to keep this all hidden, and really didn't quite manage.
LavenderLevinbolt No.96753161 [Report] >>96755593 >>96755695
>>96753070
The outbreak ended when the Prince, first, supposedly put on the persona of a catholic huntress-nun, or a nuntress, and led the hunters into being a pronounced, loud distraction. Then she collaborated with the were-crocodiles, managing to take out two vial-Tzimisce locked in yet another fight, and locate the third who was hiding under the city, working on some sort of fleshcrafting project of absurd scale. There was a smaller outrbreak a while later, where a Tremere antitribu used a preserved vial as an air-distributed weapon of sorts. Even a few droplets of the stuff, if ingested, seemed to be enough for the disease to take hold of a vampire in a very slight stage, so he used it to wipe out the Chantry in Córdoba, in a convoluted way.

This leaves us with options for what the contagion truly was, if it happened as outlined.

Option one. Tzimisce Antedeluvian blood, behaving as it did due to its nature.

Not improbable, but somewhat concerning. That'd imply that the vitae is alive and evil, and can take over Kindred to basically maneuver itself back together, perhaps in an effort to become one again.

Option two. Regular-ish vitae of some strength, heavily ritualized upon by the Tzimisce themselves, to make ersatz-Tzimisce as troops, or perhaps a faulty shipment acquired by them under belief that it was option one.

More probable, and less concerning, though the lineup of effects and strength the blood bestowed is intriguing. It's certainly not quite a regular rituals from any of my tomes, at least.

Not a conclusive list, we omit the chance this was an intentful piece of bait to have the local Kindred kill each other off over basically poison, among others.

Your case may well be something like this - maybe consuming altered Tzimisce vitae, possibly airborne, leading to a sudden rise in strength, in new disciplines, in slight mental changes. And the Tzimisce oh-so-tragically dies immediately, and thus is missing.

Any symptoms in your friends?

My knowledge of the native cultures extends to the plains natives and aztec. The coasts are foreign to me. What kind of effects. The natives had some powerful enough magics that even the kine respect their curses. Weird that.

I will now review every clan's women.

>Brujah
Loud, angry, horrible to be around, but active participants. Depends on how well you can tune their bullshit out and pretend to listen.

>Gangrel
The animal features are a big turn off for me. Some have hygiene problems, which is impressive since we don't sweat.

>Malkavian
Basically the same rules as living crazy chicks. Fun for a while, but don't get stuck in.

>Nosferatu
No. Just, no.

>Toreador
Gotta be honest about my own kind. Really pretty, experienced, can push people's buttons very well, and even does the lovey dovey stuff pretty good. However, every Toreador is a ticking time bomb that will cheat on you the minute they get bored.

>Tremere
Freaky and repressed. Most like getting mistreated in the bedroom. Avoid pillow talk, they will report it to their boss.

>Ventrue
If you like being dommed, unironic 10/10. If you don't like being dommed, 0/10.

>Lasombra
I don't know why but Lasombra women are almost always stupid hot. However, they are awful lovers. No joke, unless they want to get something from you, they'll just beat the shit out of you. Not even in a hot way.

>Tzimisce
Not even with a rented dick.

>Giovanni
Sorry, you aren't related, so her uncle (sire) will have you killed for eve trying.

>Ravnos
Pretty good time, but you will have your wallet stolen at the very least.

I refute the Lasombra one, not all are awful lovers but most, read any in the sabbat, are horrible in bed. If you bang an older lasombra, be prepared as she might use some of her shadow tentacles.
>Assamite
most assamite women are already taken and the ones that aren't are usually to be left alone
>Setite
I wouldn't recommend setite women, most will simply due it to convert you or diablerize you, maybe Blue might be different but still, don't risk it.
>Tremere
Tremere are into some weird shit.
>Brujah
depends, most are insufferable but some can be nice to be with
>Gangrel
Is akin to beastiality typically, also a Gangrel will probably bite your cock off for trying
>Malkavian
Don't relax, you could wake up with your limbs gone
>Nosferatu
If you find one that is attractive to you, treat them alright and they will reciprocate. ex was a nossie and she was amazing in bed.
>Toreador
The kinkiest mother fuckers I've met, will 100% do things to you that are well outside the norm.
>Tzimisce
Unless you are on good terms, and I mean really damn good terms, don't even try as it's not worth it
>Ventrue
honestly depends, I'd say 75% is domme and 25% is switch
>Ravnos
pretty good overall, you will get stuff stolen

The majority of my clan see it as a genuinely sacred act of changing one’s form to change the FORM of one’s soul. By adding and taking away senses or appendages one can rise above base creation. Your imagination is the only limit. You want a coat of foreskins, that can be done. A chair of just tongues, sure. A tree that hosts prey and generates blood wine as fruit, also been done. A giant worm from fingers, sure. Just whatever way you wish to learn about anatomy and physiology.

Pity about your Egyptian wing my dear. Hope they at least kept the dynasties seperated. As far as that particular thing, it may have something to do with grandmother spider. The more settled tribes of the west were prolific weavers of tapestries. This is a particularly OCD-inclined hobbie, so maybe that? If I may offer some advice, my boy? It is better to hone your own mind, rather than rely on being spoonfed by unknown vampires you will never meet face to face. They could lie, or worse, exaggerate their own knowledge to come off as more intelligent.

Actually think about your position. You are a vampire, a creature who is no longer truly living but also not quite dead. You must drink the lifeforce of others, that being blood, to sustain yourself. Why on earth would witches not be real? Presume that unnatural beings do exist until given evidence to the contrary.

Now, before you start mindlessly accepting whatever tripe you hear, ask yourself practical questions. "How could this person identify me as a vampire?" "Why would they tell me this point-blank to my face?" "Do they not know how seriously vampires take such things?"

Though a mortal with supernatural abilities of their own is entirely possible, consider alternatives. Perhaps they're a ghoul of another vampire trying to get a rise out of you, or bait you into doing something. Perhaps they seek to get to your sire through you.

Critical thinking is far more valuable than any conjecture delivered to you by the armchair occultists that infest our world.

Witches, mages and wizards in the 'Kine who can do some sort of magic with no connection to vampires, werewolves, fairies or other such things' do exist. For starters, most Kine theoretically can mess with charms, little rituals, circles and so on, if they're trained. Not impossible that your girl is somebody who went on the wrong website and found an actually real and functional ritual to try out. Then there's a more worrisome category, who do have power beyond petty tricks and rituals.

They're extremely rare, even moreso than us, and they're almost always trouble of some sort; either because they don't know what they're doing, or because they know exactly what they're doing.

I would say that you run a moderate risk of being catfished by the world's most mentally challenged hunters, who'd do that sort of stunt instead of literally anything including just shooting you in the face with a shotgun, and a slight yet real risk of her being an actual witch who is either naive and unaware of what sort of risk it is to expose herself so, or her being an actual witch interested in using you as a source of virtually endless ritual parts. Your blood is power, and you can make more of it if given human blood.

Though I think the most likely option is that she's just some goth, or maybe a runaway ghoul, perhaps one tricked into thinking the barest amount of power ghouls get is actual magic, on top of having been taught some basic rituals, or, indeed, a literal nobody who found some sort of ritualistic equivalent of the Auspex discipline, maybe because she found an uncensored text on rituals. It's not impossible. I'd suggest not sticking your dick in that, but it's your unlife, and I've my own weaknesses towards goth women, so I can't blame you, really.

I've already thought the whole thing over to the best of my abilities. I just couldn't decide the wisest course of action. I thought, maybe she's lying and up to something nefarious, that's bad. But maybe she's just a hot chick who hexes people with non-vampire magic, that's new and exciting. I can't ask anyone I know without them blabbing to my sire, so here I am.

>>96761118
In many ways your view on things is a tragic consequence of the recent attempt to "white wash" many subjects folkloric and paranormal. Most cultures believe in some sort of fae-like creature or creatures, yet unfortunately they are generally understood as little saccharine pixies. As a result, they seem ludicrous, even if vampires are real.

If you cannot trust your own sire when you are but two months dead, then you have a tragic unlife ahead of you, my boy. I know not where this apparent epidemic of godawful siring habits has sprung from, but it will only end when every single irresponsible or glib sire is beheaded as an example. The reason I advise caution is that, especially among the ancillae (the most odious of all stages of unlife, in my humble opinion), there is a horrid tendency towards exaggeration of things largely unknown to Kindred. Highly dangerous lupines become unstoppable gods of war who could slay the very Antediluvians if given the chance. Mortal mystics become inscrutable beings capable of making the very earth itself stop spinning upon its axis. I speak with the weight of 400 years of curious unlife behind me, these claims are quite different from reality.

I believe we exaggerate and distort the truth of the other denizens of the night because we are so used to being the ones with the information advantage over mortals that the inverse terrifies us to our very cure. We become fixated on these distortions while missing very real, far more insidious secrets hidden directly under our influence.

I find it comical to look at somebody who needs basic information about the world we are in, lest they get turned into a vitae tap by an occultist who managed to manipulate him by his dick, and proceed to drown him in paragraphs of 'my boy' and 'oh be careful, stoves are hot, don't put your hand on them' instead of practical, usable answers. If you want to help somebody who doesn't know things, tell them things. It's that simple. But I suppose one does not get to a few hundred years of age without convoluting things as a hobby.

A major aspect of your new life is that you, to a degree, get to coast on a reputation built up by vicious and cutthroat vampires over many centuries.
Overall, most things in the world that know about vampires would know we're dangerous and predatory and are best avoided, equally as we are best off avoiding them. Keep that in mind - if something strange is seeking you out, something's wrong - either with them, or the world around you.
But no, werewolves are not Gangrel. You can backread a little to get more details. In short, they're nature-obsessed killing machines that are usually worried about things of a higher scale than a fledgling vampire. To werewolves we usually are a blight, but one to purge from the world at a later point, far as urgency is concerned, because there's far biggers problems than a fledgling vampire. Very much avoid them. While mages, witches and whatever else in that category are a constant source of danger, but sometimes can be lucrative to work with, in the absurdly rare circumstance you establish a balanced deal with a competent mage, a werewolf who doesn't want to rip your head off is a strange werewolf. Ones I know of, who outright work with Kindred, are very disturbed.
Fairies are also not a metaphor, but they're extremely weird. We and them mix poorly, from all I know, so they avoid us, and we usually return the favor. But they are out there.

Ah, behold the malnourished fruits of "modern" education. Do not encourage one to think, simply deliver information to be memorized, without regard for context, intent, or ulterior motive. Is "give a man a fish, feed him for a day, teach a man to fish, feed him for life" still in common parlance? All this easy access to knowledge you children have, and yet this age produces so many dullards.

If the boy were to listen to the tripe I see bandied about here, he will meet final death in short order. It would be hypocritical then for me to tell him to accept as rote my information. It seems his sire has taken a lax approach to his education, and moreover he is a victim of what passes for mortal education these nights, as are you. Now you would do well to actually think things through, young man, rather than simply absorb information you read on the world wide web.

I have been a vampire for a little over 400 years. My life and early unlife were during what is now called by most scholars to be the "early modern period". The end of the renaissance and the beginning of the enlightenment. I find it quite flattering, at the time people did not see it as anything nearly quite so grand. Even in life I regarded myself as a futurist, so I manage as best I can with these computers.

It is a paradox, I know. These nights are so advanced in so many respects, so many marvels not only extant, but easily accessible. However, critical thinking has entered a sharp and sudden decline, most concerningly among those who have undergone higher education. I believe it is the fault of how people are taught. I assure you, as well as I can, that this belief is not simply the result of "rose tinted glasses".

Good evening, fellow Kindred. I come with an inquiry, specifically regarding lupines. It appears that this may be a bad time for this specific question, however, the situation is urgent.

I do not seek general knowledge of their ilk, nor conjecture about their "true nature in the grand cosmic order" or some such debate. I understand, as well as any of us do, the basics. They may shapeshift at will. Their frenzies are far more extreme than ours. Mortals struggle to recall details about them if attacked. Harming them conventionally is ineffective, they regenerate so quickly that one would require extreme physical trauma to kill one in such a manner. Silver bullets slay them with the same ease regular bullets slay big game animals. They possess a host of other abilities, specific to the creature in question, not unlike us. It is best to avoid them entirely.

Now that the obligatory is out of the way, my real question. Have any of you heard of an account of a lupine, without any previous contact, intervening on the behalf of one of our kind? I was dealing with an incursion upon my domain and to my shock, a great black wolf, mangy thing that it was, attacked one of my assailants and dragged it away into the night. There have been no further sightings of the beast, even accounting for distorted mortal memory. It has, near as I can tell, vanished entirely. Any response would be appreciated; these are uncharted waters for me.

The track and field out behind the town's only high school was the only place in town with their lights on. We pulled over a block away from the school and went the rest of the way on foot, trying to avoid any unwanted attention. As we reached the trees that lined the perimeter of the stadium, we could make out the murmuring of a large crowd periodically interrupted with sudden uproarious applause.

On the far side of the field, there was a platform lit by floodlights. In front of the platform there was a small crowd and a much larger crowd a little bit further off from the stage. I don't know how many people were in the large crowd but it must have been at least a few hundred if not thousands of people given how they filled up most of the football field.

There were ten of them on the platform, all clothed in robes and standing completely still. One of them stepped forwards and with a booming voice called out a name–Rita. A woman from the small crowd, Rita I assume, stood up and climbed onto the stage. The Robed One drew a knife out of his robes, slit his wrist, presented his bleeding wrist to the crowd and then commanded Rita to drink from it. The crowd blew up when Rita drank. Then, with a swift jerking motion, the Robed One pulled Rita towards him and bit down on her neck. Rita flailed wildly before going limp in the Robed One's arms.

It was only at this point that we realized that the ten robed ones were probably the Cainites we were looking for. After the lick had his fill, he let Rita's body drop to the floor. Their applause halted, replaced with anxious silence until Rita started moving again whereupon the crowd erupted into cheering once more, tapering off as Rita, quivering, made her way off the stage. The Robed one stepped back in line with the others and another Robed One stepped forward and repeated the process.

Unless these guys were total neonates, there was no way we were going to take on ten vamps and their mob of followers.

We booked it back home in the van. The coterie's still arguing among themselves over whether or not we should report this blood cult to the Prince. If anyone finds out we witnessed a giant masquerade breach without telling anyone... well, you know.

On the other hand, Vinnie's more concerned about someone else taking the credit and the territory for cleaning up this mess if we report it to the Sherrif. He's convinced that we can take on the blood cult and secure the domain as our own. He's managed to convince the two ex-shovelheads(they weren't treated very well by the local Camarilla) and he's trying to win our nosferatu and toreador over promises of greater independence.

On the drive home I asked him why he thinks we can take on a whole cult town and where we'll get the resources to clean up afterwards. Sorry for the delay, had to dig up the notes.
Overall, as stated, the vial-Tzimisce were in a slowly-evolving state, so separating individual stages is mostly pointless.
The most interesting are the furthermost-evolved form, which appears to be a Tzimisce warform taking on a permanent state. It was no doubt not the furthest it could go, just the furthest observed. The last three survivors were about equivalent in power, and they were also constantly using their fleshcraft in combat, altering themselves on the fly and absurdly fast and expansively, but overall the description of them in a state of relative calm or pause is fitting to most advanced warform traits. There's no knowing if they were stuck in the warform, or just kept it on out of intense paranoia.

>Resistant to fire
>Claws and teeth induce a rot in living flesh and a dustening of sorts in vampiric flesh
>Entrails are a weapon of their own, acting autonomously if torn out, plus if attached the vial-Tzimisce had a strange ability to shoot them out to entagle
>Extremely fast reflexes and overall speed, suggesting Celerity, along with other physical traits suggesting solid mastery of physical disciplines
>Bodily fluids excluding vitae are acidic
>Vitae itself is not described in any way, suggesting it is somehow worse
>Psychology is nigh-unfunctional, with ones observed in combat being in a semi-lucid Frenzy of sorts, while the project one was obsessive and initially even ignored itself being gutted so long as its project, growing bit by bit, was not disturbed
>Brief lucidity periods still present, even in those the dark triad traits are pronounced but not overwhelmingly so

Same way you learn magic inside the Pyramid. Sometimes from the same people, just at more competitive rates since they get less of a monopoly, if you can try and seek out Sabbat antitribu, Anarch antitribu, or random-asshole-in-a-trenchoat antritribu. It's just a matter of having something valuable to offer, ultimately. You, however fresh you are, still happen to have value. A fresh set of eyes, little true ties to anybody, an unaccounted for man - that's useful. And you can make it so you're worth more, to people.
>>96767824
Ah, yeah this answers my question, didn't see it in time.
Overall, there's several different reasons why a wolf may have chosen to do this. You are wise to point out not harming you, because that probably rules out just purifying the night as the cause. I doubt you're much of a nature enthusiast, so it probably doesn't just kind of like you.
Overall, I've had heard a lot about Sabbat in some areas, in some strange way, procuring werewolf mercenaries, while I was shopping around for ingredients. The mercenary variety of wolf is usually actually fairly mangy, apparently, and don't really offer their parts for sale, and when they do, they're usually not quite as usable as regular wolf bits. This Sabbat getting kidnapped mid-assault does make me wonder if somebody hired the wolf - either specifically to protect you, or to take out the Sabbat attacker. Maybe it's inner-sect conflict, or the attacker didn't pay what he owed to the wolf? Could also be that the guy who got wolfnapped did something to offend the local wolves, and this was personal.
I'd need descriptions of the wolf and some local politics gossip to guess with more accuracy.
Marcher Lord No.96767938 [Report] >>96768072
>>96767842
Certainly. Though I will keep some details hidden, operational security, I am sure you understand.

I am loyal to the Camarilla. My assailants were Sabbat, nomads almost certainly, there are no permanent Sabbat strongholds in the area. I must admit they caught me off-guard at first, so far from the frontlines in that particular war, I was not expecting a large and seasoned pack of Sabbat nomads to arrive upon my doorstep. I do not have any particular enemies among that sect, but the Sabbat do not care about particularities. All outside their deranged cult are enemies.

>>96767889
How vile. My condolences, cousin. If there is any justice in your city, the offender should have his hand cut off and cauterized. No Kindred should suffer such an indignity.

>Camarilla who's knowledgeable-ish about werewolves, so maybe not a fledgling
>Seemingly not psychotic, maybe one of the reasons why there's no Sabbat in town
>Assaulted by an out-of-town, large Sabbat pack, potentially one arriving to establish a foothold in a new area
>Got to witness a strange, mangy wolf attack this pack and leave him entirely alone
>And then it just vanished, as werewolves who are doing a hit job prone to do at times
Oh, man, this is great. I'm placing whole one dollar on that the wolf belongs to a cleverer-than-usual pack that correctly identified you ast he lesser evil, twenty bucks on that it was a mercenary who had some sort of split with the pack who hired it to be extra spooky muscle, and fifty on that the nomads upset this guy's pack in some way and he went out of his way to fuck them up while they were busy with you.
Marcher Lord No.96768135 [Report] >>96768239
>>96767929
>>96768072
Lupine mercenaries? Hmm. You would figure the Camarilla would have an easier time procuring them, we pay better after all. The wolf itself was unnaturally large, standing a bit shorter than my height at its shoulder. I'm tall, but not prodigiously so. Its jaws were, as mentioned, large enough to grab and hold a grown man and carry him off. The beast's coat was dark, almost matte black and patchy in some places, with a skin nearly as pale as ours.

As for local politics, what can I say without making myself a beacon for other Sabbat marauders... I occupy a position within my local Camarilla that not every domain or even region has. Marquess. I have also heard "Satellite Prince" or Margrave be used. Let's say you are a Prince who has a city, but quite a lot of that city's population actually lives outside of the city limits. Or you do not wish to allow Sabbat or Anarchs to fester in the more rural towns that inevitably orbit large cities such as yours. The answer? You grant domain, including semi-autonomy in enforcing the traditions, to a younger vampire that is loyal to you. It prevents dissention from the young by rewarding enterprising neonates, extends your influence and thus eyes well past proper cities limits, and provides yet another check to the Primogen council's power. In America, where I unlive, we have many suburbs and satellite towns and thus, this is our solution. It is not an American invention however, from what I understand it's something of a dusted off and repurposed pre-Thorns practice.

My domain is near the countryside, but I have never had even a peep of lupine activity. The proximity to the countryside is why I educated myself on the basics of lupines. I suppose it is good to have my suspicion confirmed that if they wanted me slain, they would have attempted to do so. What still eludes me is this: Why kidnap the Sabbat? It could've split him in half with those jaws, but instead it carried him off into the night.
LavenderLevinbolt No.96768239 [Report] >>96770614
>>96768135
While I've been extremely lucky to avoid any and all personal encounters with wolves who sell their services to the Sabbat, I've got enough second-hand testimonies and descriptions to overconfidently say that you really don't want to hire the sort of werewolf that sells their services. Too destructive, too sadistic, too absurdly violent, too prone to fuckery. Everything you don't want if you want to keep the peace and avoid things going on fire.
>The beast's coat was dark, almost matte black and patchy in some places, with a skin nearly as pale as ours.
Almost definitely the sort that sells their services, they have a habit of looking utterly diseased.
>Why kidnap the Sabbat? It could've split him in half with those jaws, but instead it carried him off into the night.
Oh, that's easy, torture. Or interrogation. For all their bloodthirst and brutality, the mercenary werewolves tend to be exceedingly sadistic, and if this Sabbat pack, for instance, hired some wolves for a task, only to dip out of town and move to somewhere else (to your domain, specifically) to avoid having to pay, under the delusion that they could fuck with hired werewolves like that, a reprisal would have to be exceedingly gruesome. Just killing the pack while they're attacking you makes it so it could seem like you got them.
But here you are, retelling this story in relative public, and here I am, guessing it might be werewolf mercenaries upset with their clients. Having you see the kidnapping only adds to the effectiveness of the message being conveyed.
Though a grudge or offense of any other sort also could be the cause, obviously. But the culprit is probably one of those mercenary lupines.

This sounds stupid but i have got to ask. What is the physically biggest supernatural being any of you have personally seen with your own eyes?

Like the biggest thing i have ever even heard of is the War ghouls of the Tzimisce. And as big as those things are said to be in the old stories they are just supposed to be big truck sized right? Have any of you ever seen anything that earned the title of giant in your eyes? Or is everything supernatural just mostly human sized for some reason?

How big would something have to be to count as giant? I've personally seen the inside of an old world Fiend's watchtower and I'm convinced the whole thing was alive, just covered in a layer of stone-like scales. It was eight stories high and about 13 yards across at the base. Every now and then, I swear I could see the "stones" shift and then return to their original position like the damn thing was ever so slowly breathing.

I don't fault anyone for not believing. Heck, I think Blue posited a theory that it was "Just" someone's Nightmare of Zarahowever You Spell it, made real by the Ravnos mojo running rampant. The Bishop warned that might be true waaay back in 2000, s'why my post-Victory plans involve hitting up India, making god damned sure. The comparison to a force of Nature is apt, but it didn't move like a typhoon. More like a predator on the hunt, one large enough to fill entire streets where it pursued the other nightmares and snuffed them out, then stopped rooted around before seeking out it's next victim.
Course, when I "saw" it I was on the top floor of the Chatterjee, looking down at the path of the devastation, and I don't remember much after I made the damn fool decision to try to get s better look with Auspex.

I want to give my take on this fully, after dating a bunch.

>Brujah
Will not shut up, and are perpetually wound up. But if you get them to unwind, angry sex is 10/10

>Gangrel
Distant and smelly. Too much of a loner to date.

>Malkavian
Do not date my clanmates. She is insane, i dont care how good she is in bed.

>Nosferatu
A coinflip between someone so internally beautiful you could spend eternity together, or just as ugly inside as she is outside.

>Toreador
Nothing but contempt for them. She will nearly breach the masquerade hunting you down if she thinks for a second you were unfaithful. Not worth the effort.

>Tremere
Somehow rival the Roses in terms of freak nasty behavior. I know what they did, and what they are into.

>Ventrue
Abusive and controlling. Amazing if you have no self respect.

>Lasombra
Beautiful, terrible in bed, and deeply insecure about their appearance.

>Tzimisce
TEETH.
TEETH.
But if youre in a platonic Nonsexual relationship with one, theyre quite nice. Results majorly vary, especially the hardcore sabbat ones. Shes actively trying to make herself into a creepy flesh monster, and youre a distraction from that.

>Giovanni
Smells like death, calls you daddy a bit /too/ enthusiastically.

>Ravnos
Kleptomaniacs. pretty damn hot though.

Also I want to mention the Former Clans

>Cappadocian
Smells even more like death. Cannot stomach being near one.

Listen man, you've got around three options. There's variances within but they're all in three categories.

Option 1: You get yourself some patrons. Either someone higher up in the chain, or you find some "benefactors" to start paying you. Remember that your vitae is addictive as hell.

Option 2: Own some shit. Maybe directly. Maybe under the table. Maybe through some various shells. Get paid for controlling some shit.

Option 3: Crimes. Break into places and steal things. Roll some people on the street. Rob a 7-11. Do some shit.

It's very simple. You spend ages denied what you once took for (relative) granted and you start to crave it. You're never going to get the rush you get from feeding off of kine food. If we could eat food normally, no one would ever choose to unless they needed to uphold the masquerade.
But it's the fact that you can no longer have it that makes you crave it. Especially now that you're surrounded by constant reminders of it, due to things like advertising. You start thinking about the taste, the texture, the sensation. And it eats at you because it feels so absurd. It's right there. And you can't have it. And even if you can, it will taste like ash.
Also, speaking personally, I want to know what these sodas taste like. They're everywhere, so they must be good, yes?

A while back, before I attained my autonomy, my Sire took me and some other Childer out to the Rockies for a fairly complicated, prolonged ritual meant to let us tap into what was, apparently, a long-abandoned werewolf place of power.

Actually finding the place was fairly difficult, as it from all accounts migrated - and maybe still migrates - around a large, mountainous terrain by means unknown. It was certainly not the wolve moving it, because that's not how their places of power normally work, plus the tribe that clung to it was long gone, and Garou overall did visit the area, but not very intently. So, we basically had to loiter around national park territory, making do with risky lodgings and local wildlife for sustenance, all while hoping that we'd not run into any Garou.

It was on the night three of that expedition that I started to notice a fucking mountain follow us.

It was subtle yet impossible to miss once you knew what to look for. In the clearest nights, there was nothing; but in the foggiest, the dimmest, it was a cragged, sharp peak, 'circling' us, a mile or two away at all times, using other mountains for cover. For all of its absurd size, it was utterly quiet. It drew closer and closer as the fog turned heavier, and retreated as it turned weaker. As is the law of such things, the fog got the thickest around the place of power. The thing got close enough that some sort of switch flipped, and we could hear it - the absurd weight of millions of tons of rock scraping about, groaning of the earth underneath it. It got very rowdy when we started the ritual, but that is more private than I feel like disclosing.
