What are some different and interesting ways of mechanically handling sex magic? I'd like to include it in my campaign, but I'm playing in a system where spellcasters are already very powerful so I need to avoid giving them more of a combat advantage. Some ideas I've come up with,
1) Ritual Sex Magic. The spell itself is ordinary, but uses "sex energy" as the fuel. A spell is chosen, ritual sex must happen, and the spell is cast after the ritual is over. A powerful spell might require numerous participants, with large orgies being a hard requirement for very powerful spells. A lone masturbator or a single couple might be able to cast the weakest spells this way. Probably the most mechanically balanced, orgies are hard to organize in a typical setting.
2) Sex as Mana Recovery. Straightforward, the act of cumming replenishes the casters mana/spell slots/magicka/etc. Probably the most mechanically unbalanced, as one female can orgasm an incredible number of times per day. An alternative could be tying the depravity of the sex act to the amount of mana restored, with basic masturbation restoring very little and something like triple anal penetration from the rest of the party restoring loads of mana.
3) Sex Magic Requires Special Training. The mechanical benefits are restricted to a certain class/set of feats/etc. This can create a spellcaster that can't cast spells normally, and has cumming as a requirement to cast anything at all. Maybe pretty balanced?
4) Anyone Can Do Sex Magic. An interesting alternative, probably best paired with rules for ritual sex magic. Anyone can gain the mechanical benefit of sex magic. A warrior can cast a weak healing spell on herself with some rubbing for example. Gives spell casting ability to anybody, probably best restricted to only the weakest of magic.

If you've got a lust/arousal system that makes you vulnerable/weaker, lewd magic both requires you to have high arousal and increases it. Maybe combine with requiring you to cause a certain amount of lust in others, so spellcasters have to be hot slutty cockteases to get their spells off.

If magic is villainous (sword and sorcery type shit), sex magic is about seducing the strong or the pure to take their lewd power. Gives a reason for capturing virgin daughters or pretty princesses or sword saints beyond just getting rocks off, and lets you have evil seductresses and barbarian amazons in chainmail bikinis.

I'd tend to lean towards 4 over 3 myself. If everyone can do sex magic you can get a lewd world without the tropes that make it fall apart once you play it two handed messing it up.

Otherwise, I'd suggest the following (assuming this is LA):
a track where you need, say, 2d4+4 successes to get through the village, and 1d4 to get through the tavern. you roll very difficult stealth checks in the streets, but when you fail roll on an appropriate scenarios table (street sleeping, B1, B2, E for village; tavern, tavern party, service for inn) and gain reputation (avoid with social checks?) instead of considering it a real failure. alternatively you can stop along the way to steal clothes to avoid reputation gain but risk being caught in a crime

What makes a good lewd ttrpg?
Yeah there are ttrpg with lewd elements but mechanics for sex and such feels a bit moronic like trying to make mechanics for social interactions, beyond skill checks? I don’t bring this up to be mean or anything, but a genuine question when designing these kind of games. I personally just use an edition of d&d I like and if my PC gets defeated she gets non-con and that’s about it or just roleplay other lewd stuff. Just guiding myself with an Oracle seems enough I think. I dabbled with the Kill Team lewd rules for KT21 both the old one and a new one an anon made. They seem like extra busy work where just rolling some dice at the end of the game to know if an operative got captured and plapped seems like enough.

Just play with enough rules for it to be solid, as few as possible and give it a go. If at the end of the day you feel like it's lacking, add a bit more. Keep adding rules until you notice your time is mostly spent rolling dice and looking at numbers than feeling turned on by the story and dial it back a bit.

There can be guidelines, like prior editions of d&d where morale and monster reaction influenced by charisma score can set a scene for social interaction but there isn’t a whole gameplay mechanic around it. I partially agree, I myself barely use any game mechanics for sex. I make a single roll to see how long a character can screw before cumming, optional rolls to try and last longer, and a pregnancy check if any creampies happen. It's pretty minimalist. I don't see much benefit to messing around with penis sizes and vaginal circumference the way FATAL does. I used to use mechanics for tracking arousal, where a character would get some penalties for getting horny and ignoring their carnal urges, but eventually stopped using the rule.

I had a chance to playtest my silly little sex magic system, it's hilariously overpowered. It quickly became obvious that every problem was a nail and that sex magic + masturbation was the hammer solution. I added another rule to it that makes a sex magic user pick and choose a single spell of each spell level , which they can cast with their sex magic for the rest of the day. For example, Tina the Rogue wants to heal Stacy the Barbarian, so they use sex magic and 69. Their "Sexual Potency" score is 3, high enough to cast a 3rd level spell; but Tina is restricted to 2nd level and lower spells by her character level. Tina chooses cure light wounds as a 1st level spell. For the rest of the day, Tina can use cure light wounds for as many times as she can fuck and use her sex magic. Later that day, Tina uses her sex magic again for a 0 level spell and again for a 2nd level spell; the maximum of her daily selection. On the next day her choices reset and Tina may select different sex magic spells, but need not choose them in advance.

Rolling for a skill check for a social encounter is fine. The issue here is not “winning or losing” in a social encounter, and if you’re playing solo, nothing is stopping you from fudging dice rolls either so the argument that anyone wants to “win” when playing solo is idiotic itself. Not only that but social encounters can still be handled through an Oracle to substitute DM roleplaying. If a game has skills and includes social skills then sure that’s fine. Once more, older editions of D&D didn’t have a skill system so you wouldn’t be able to just “roll to get what you want because you sunk a lot of points into persuasion” because by the same token, if I wanted to win at social encounters, I could just do that. Instead in older editions of the game, or in something like Old School Essentials which is a retro clone, social encounters would play out by having player and DM just roleplay, with the attitude of the NPC based on a reaction roll and modified by charisma of the player. So no, the point of the previous point of mine isn’t, “man I hate gameplay mechanics, they won’t let me have fictional sex with an elf” but rather “man, these rules are convoluted and really go out of their way to make having sex in a sex ttrpg not that fun” I brought up social encounters in normal ttrpg but very rarely do they add excessive rules for social encounters. For my own fantasy game, for my fantasy game I use "Let's Talk" and "Keeping Contact" for relationship mechanics/romance (I enjoy the game aspect of LT), and for sex I use my autistic scripting system AIM. Last I was tinkering with it, I was trying to find a satisfying balance for "second rounds" with NPCs and situations like group sex, still not terribly pleased with it: similarly, I can't really figure out a satisfying way to incorporate foreplay.

For the game of Mothership I've been playing more recently, sex combat is just the combat system reskinned; kind of boring comparatively, especially since MS's 1st edition is mother-may-I when it comes to combat.

The "basics" of it are pretty simple, just do an 2 purple roll with the appropriate skill, with a talent giving damage for ranks in the skill. I guess you could do a Knowledge (Sex) skill too, but I don't see much value in it outside of this purpose so I haven't. The defender has a Soak equivalent coming from Willpower and a pleasure threshold. If a lewd skill is used on someone, all non-lewd skills have the difficulty increased by one. They'll have a harder time negotiating while also having the sex done on them. I guess you could also just do an upgrade, but I don't care enough to figure out if it's balanced yet. Since I like the idea of fucking someone into submission, I let the overflow from pleasure threshold spill into Strain, and then it's just the normal social compromise/capitulation rules. There's also turn on/offs, mirroring Motivations.

The jank comes from me trying out different things for maneuvers, because there's not as many mechanical reasons to use them because rangebands don't exist. I'm also adding new talents as I think of something neat.

The best part is I can call it Genesex if I ever release it.

I enjoy Lewd Attack. It's a good premise, and I've had some fun times playing it. Triumphs, awkward sexual moments, and defeats. It's all there.

But also, I have critiques. I think the thing that's the biggest problem with the system is the amount of tedium that it creates. Sometimes the number of adventure segments you have to go on can be a lot. That in itself wouldn't be so bad, except that combat can really drag on. Rolling dice for the attacker and defender repeatedly means that getting into fights can last a long time, which is exacerbated by the presence of lots of mook enemies that want to gang up on you. Rolling to hit and then block/dodge/parry back and forth, then counting and comparing the successes against each other so you can do the math, just becomes a lot of stuff you have to do. Depending on how the dice fall, you can find yourself doing a lot of combat, and doing a lot of this. Especially if you're playing a character with good defenses, but not an overwhelming amount of power, you just have to repeat too many mechanical actions to determine outcomes.

Also, enemies are tempted to come at your character, and you can lean into it to try to make them easier to fight. You can fight with lewdness, effectively. That's part of the conceit of the game, but also some enemies just get harder to defeat when they're more riled up. The backfiring this causes actually rubs against that premise, which can discourage players from wanting to use that option.

Randomized the terrain I was going into as well as how many hexes it took up. Randomized the weather (daily and every time you cross into a new biome). Adjusted the odds of finding someone/something when exploring.
I'm the sort of person Wilderlands of High Fantasy was made for (and I rebuilt its random tables from the ground up once as well).

When encountering any creature or npc, I do a very simple set of rolls for attitude, reaction to the pc, and what action they are currently doing. I like that labyrinthus has tables for all of those and I don't have to mess with them (much).

NTA but Fog of War etc is the least important thing you get from a VTT (but is not that hard to set up, at least on foundry). What's important is the automation of many aspects to speed up the session or just the possibility to have anything you write down to be easily accessible with a click. Yes it takes some time to prepare everything but once done, it's worth it and you then have more to actually roleplay. For example I use Foundry to play Labyrinthus and the pre-made world has a macro for randomly generate npcs and one to roll their attitude and reaction

I don't think all of these things are necessarily mutually exclusive. You could have a fairly grounded setting, but in a particular instance, you could have a powerful entity (a god, as an easy example) bend, break, or reform the rules for a period of time.

To highlight what I mean, imagine you have a group that's travelling. They come across some ruins late in the day and decide to make use of them as shelter for the night. However, they first have to clear them out as they have been infested with whatever.
So your group gets to killing - but wait, those ruins were part of a temple to a deity/spirit of fertility. Turns out said deity is not so happy with you lot murdering shit on their front lawn. In response, they force their will onto reality and tell your group that nobody is leaving until someone is knocked up. It doesn't care who, and doesn't care how, just that it's done.
You now effectively have a scenario where lewd logic is applied to an otherwise grounded setting.
