What is /tg/ opinion on Chtulhu Dark? Anyone tried it?
I have to run a one shot for some friends, 3 of which are women (who in my experience are not really able to follow more than 2 rules of an Rpg if they are not already into rpgs) so the narrative focus of cthulhu dark is excellent.
The lack of a wound/harm systems is kinda offputting, but I think I can improvise something.
Does anybody have experiences/tips/resources/forbidden knowledge to share?

No real tips, have a similar plan with Darkship to use some of the Mothership modules.
Its got a wound system that doesn't seem like it'll get in the way too much but still be useful. I'm inclined to have it increase mishaps to being on a 1-2 instead of just 1 but not sure.

Haven't played it, but I just read the rules.
The failing rule sounds like a good way for players to get annoyed with each other. This sort of thing seems like it would do better as the Keeper rolling a die for failure if someone is working against the player for that roll.
The rerolling rule sounds like garbage, specifically because the rules say that even a roll of 1 gives a success.
If I was trying to tun the game, I'd make the above two changes.

Yeah I forgot about those.
Totally agree with you. I mean I get one reroll by adding insight die if it was not already rolled (similar to push a roll in CoC), but infinite rerolls is stupid.

is this like CoC?

There are 3 good Ctulhu-ish games, and CD is one of them.

Wounds are best left out of the game, as it is as close to HPL as you could be with more than 1 protagonist.
Use one of the scenarioes in the full game.

You don't get infinite rerolls.

Not particulary, even if it clearly stems from it and you investigate a mistery.

I like it a lot and have been using it for lots of different setting. In action-oriented games, I replace Insight by Stress.

Interesting. You mean action-horror or something more akin to pure action?

I'm currently running an MMA story set in Japan with expanded combat rules, and I also ran some Miami Vice / Max Payne inspired sessions with Stress instead of Insight.

This is like the last concept I'd consider for this game, but more power to you.

By the rules you do

Any tips about things to avoid or way to direct an investigation?

Nothing really specific to Cthulhu Dark.

Wait until I run a Battletech game with it.

Right, this is the newer version. Still, it makes sense, because you risk Insight overload.

Name the 2 other good Cthulhu games please.

I also like Cthulhu Deep Green, a Delta Green hack Cthulhu Dark which allows a bit more action.

Trail of Cthulhu and Lovecraftesque.
Anonymous No.96772892 [Report] >>96776014
Is there any medieval hack for this? Googling is a pain since it just gives me Cthulhu Dark Ages as results.

Shit taste. Everything else you've said can be disregarded.

Anon, your character is literally composed of a name and a occupation. What is there to hack and make it "medieval" or whatever historial period?
