I've been thinking that it would be cool to have split cards with the aftermath frame (perhaps with the bottom half mirrored to show that they're different) where the top half is any permanent and the bottom half is a non-permanent spell. Nah, there is nothing wrong with locations, peoples or even entire planes of black, asian or whatever ethnicity of inhabitants.
The problems are changing existing characters to a different ethnicity, having characters show up randomly as different ethnicities from places previously monoethnic, depicting real world analogue cultures as different ethnicities and, perhaps most prevalent, depicting certain ethnicities as superior beings which have no (relevant) flaws without it being a story beat.

Nta, but it being a turtle gives it some synergy with tmnt, and birds are a common enough type and has some support. Its a a toughness 1 mana blocker that has some relevant text as the game progresses. I wish it had a more fantastical name, but that's one of the problems with UB in general.

It used to be that you were *literally* summoning those creatures/planeswalkers hence the old legend rule. When they changed the legend rule they retconned the lore so that you're just summoning mana constructs based on your memories of them (or something like that, I don't really keep up with the lore), which in turn makes loyalty counters on planeswalkers not make any sense anymore.

1: Loyalty was how much they liked you- reduced it to zero, and they fuck off, and some things they like to do and some things they don’t.
2. Mana cost is your payment to call them in, with their starting loyalty and list of abilities being what you’ve negotiated them to do.
3. You can’t have multiple versions of the same person, just multiple different load outs
