Even if we take that as true, they're a military from 40,000 years into the fucking future and should be compared to their opposition. A fucking Somali pirate with a rusty AK-47 would do well against an ancient Roman soldier but that doesn't make the Somalis an elite military force.

Sure there are some relatively elite guard regiments like the Cadians, but they still have to deal with shitty equipment, incompetent generals, outdated strategies, a lack of logistical support, a lack of air support, and terrible attrition rates, and they have to fight alongside feudal worlders who have never seen a lasgun before in their lives.

I have 2 space marines from my honored of the chapter kit I bought almost 2 years ago. I have no desire to finish them and I realized it's because I suck at painting regular loyalist marines. I don't have a technique or a point of satisfaction with them.

I don't particularly like edge highlighting loyalist marines because it looks odd, and I don't edge highlight much anyway. Does anyone have an alternative technique they can recommend? I like ultrasmurfs painted in the old blue and red gun style. I usually do layering but SM don't have the abundant crevices for shading and instead have big areas of roundness or flatness. the shoulders and legs are particularly difficulat parts for me.

I think their main issue that was the over-riding hunt for the fallen was never really that interesting, and now that 'traitor loyalists' have become overwhelmingly more common (and ACTUAL openly Horus-supporting traitors to boot, not just a planetary secession movement) Dark Angels have utterly lost what was once seen as their core motivation and fluff gimick. Honestly, I'd say they're the Chapter that's most in need of a full overhaul of their role and function within the setting. And with the Lion back, there's even a guy around who can do that.

I'd suggest that the 'Ravenwing' formations need to be either reincorporated into standard chapter structures, because the Hunt for the fallen is effectively going to end now that the Lion is forgiving them, or else spun off into a new Successor Chapter and given a new name and a new mission. This allows the Dark Angels themselves and their abilities/resources to be more focused around the Deathwing and a 'spearpoint' relentless Terminator Assault.

My advice without rebuilding your list:
>drop the terminator captain for more terminators in a big 5 or 6 model brick
>drop the shield/melta character for another blade champion
>replace the jetbike shooting with missiles
>include a unit of sisters if you have a spare 40 points
If those are all the models you have then just swap the bike weapons. You have essentially no anti-tank weapons and will struggle against them.
I'd strongly suggest more terminators; a big brick that splits up into individual units is hard to screen against and your opponent will be forced to play around it.
Your dreadnought is going to struggle to get close to charge range and will get chewed up by AT shooting but can make for a good distraction carnifex.

I feel like no BL writer or codex writer has stopped to consider just how powerful ,medusae are. They allow someone who eats their brains/fruits to see through the eyes and know all the thoughts someone has who is in their large radius. You can't block it you don't know when an archon is seeing your past thoughts and seeing what you saw. It's even more powerful than just mind reading.

If they want to maximise gains, they would turn each member of the court into a separate small blister that can be priced at the absolute maximum an individual plastic model can be sold at, and/or turn the unit concept from something that gets bought only once per collector, to something that can potentially be bought multiple times
