Yeah, 2 heads for the Tomb King and 2 for the Royal Herald , 3 right arm options (Khopesh in 2 poses, axe, and pointing hand), and three left arm options (axe, shield, and BSB) means you get a lot.

The Liche priest kit I don't have a picture of, but you could also make theoretically 24 different priests there too (4 heads, 3 arms, 2 staves, and mounted versus on foot)

Amazons don't precede the old ones, they were made by an old one, rigg, "mother of amazons", who's the only old one referred to as a female in lizardmen plaques.
She's considered a renegade old one, but it's up in the air whether she's a renegade because of the amazons or made the amazons because she went renegade.
This origin as a separate human species made by an old one seems to clash with the fluff that would have them come from the norscan women that fled into the jungles and found some lizard trinkets for themselves, but it's possible that the norscan women joined the local amazons, or inherited their stuff after finding their ruins.

The enmity with the lizardmen isn't always present either, they've joined forces in multiple instances and they're the only beings other than the slann allowed to bathe in the emerald pools the slann use to rejuvenate themselves.

A few threads ago, someone had posted a pic showing all remaining Fantasy models that are still lingering in AoS, yet the image was too small and blurry.
I recreated it in larger size and updated it.

That event coincided with the army getting a new book and new models, so take it with a grain of salt. Kroak is a separate kit from the normal slann, dropped a while before the rest of the range refresh. You forget the salamander which they replaced with the spawn of chotec, razordon got dropped completely iirc. They also retired the tetto'eko model which was used a skink starseer in aos. and they can supplement the loss of some later units (ripperdactyls, troglodon, ancient stegadon, bastiladon) with stuff like the dread saurian or the introduction of old models as new units (tichi huici riders as skinks riding on horned ones, 5th ed salamander as an ancient salamander, 6th ed kroxigors as ambush kroxigors) or stuff you have to convert (sacred spawnings, coatl, arcanodon, thunder lizard, great pteron, unridden dinosaurs)

I’m of mixed opinion on the prospect of coming back to TOW. Cause on one hand I’m saving a lot of money on them not being involved, but on the other hand it really would be neat to build an army instead of small painting projects. The first Cathay AJ had a lot of their history with the Ogres and the Sky Titans and their range has new Ogres in it for the cannons. They’re on someone’s mind in the design team, but only time will tell.

The issue with Frost Wyrms, the elemental bear and Incarnate of beasts is that they would probably all require a Wizard to be useable for an army, either Ice or Hag.
Bears aren't big enough to be considered a 'centerpiece' and they don't traditionally have anything that'd really be considered a 'centerpiece' even in WH3 outside those units.
I could maybe see Kislevite heavy war sleds as a centerpiece unit.... at a stretch, maybe have 2 variants one for Heavy War sled with gunners one with a mortar on it.
Really i'd expect bears to be extremely limited to Lord mounts and Heavy sleds to begin with.

I coud see them toning most the ice stuff down considering Katarin isn't in power and most the narrative of the Great War revolves around the gryphon legion, so there has to be a army of infamy at some point with Gryphon Legion and Knights Panther in it. Also unlike Cathay there are no illustrations in the rulebook even hinting at the elemental bear and no flavour text. I think the ice sleds will probably be large enough to be centrepieces, remember they are pulled by two bears.

I think they should include the "current" Gryphon Legion commander as a named character for Kislev, and you could contrast him with an Ungol character.
I wouldn't mind if they didn't include the Ice Bear yet, and went for the War Sleds/Little Grom and Warbear Riders instead since I feel like Kislev would need a more fleshed out army than Cathay to work.
I'm not sure a Gryphon Legion AoI would be particularly different from a standard Kislev army. I think an Ice Court AoI and a Ungol tribe AoI would be more interesting.

Thoughts on running a chaos warrior deathstar with 28 warriors with shields, halberds, the war banner and the taskmaster's scourge on the champion, a chaos lord (CoEC, Pendant of Damnation, Sword of Might, favour of the gods, enchanting aura), aspiring champion (bsb, favour of the gods, icon of darkness, diabolic splendour), sorcerer lord (battle magic, skull of katam, power scroll, spell familiar, favour of the gods), and an exalted sorcerer (daemonology, spell familiar, tome of the dark gods for fleshy abundance and acquiescence)? I know it's not competitively viable, but surely with this much investment my chaos warriors will be able to accomplish something, right?

What do people keep using the ongoing War in Ukraine as an excuse for GW delaying Kislev indefinitely for the Old World? Nintendo only delayed Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp for only about a year when they realized that the war was not going to end after a year. aside from the stuff in the battalion box, largely high elves look fine. I kinda wanna get into them, but I dont want GW to suddenly update something that I spent money on like a month or two beforehand. I'd be fine if its just a hero that gets rug-pulled on me, but ellyrian reavers, the chariots, really any of the more mobile stuff for high elves, I hope never gets updated.
