I was already looking at this exact theme last night and it's so prohibitively difficult to build lol. fun fact: there are 620 cards with "lifelink" in their Oracle text, and exactly ONE of those cards is in Izzet identity (and more than one color), see pic. it doesn't even work in an Izzet deck because you need a Plains lol.
I think I can still make it work by including multiple copies of Staff of the Flame Magus and Staff of the Mind Magus as the main enablers and then making sure every other color has literally zero lifegain cards. then I can rely on colorless "lifegain matters" cards for the payoffs, since no other color pair will be able to use them, like Well of Lost Dreams and Aetherflux Reservoir. but I'm not sure if it's enough and would appreciate any more tips here

Basically all decks are tribal decks. You pick whatever "archetype" you want, then fill in the rest of your deck with generic staples. See the world championship: https://ygoprodeck.com/tournament/yu-gi-oh-world-championship-2025-3425
#1 is running the "vanquish soul" archetype, if you look through the decklist you'll see a bunch of cards that specify synergies with other "vanquish soul" cards. But there's not enough strong "vanquish soul" cards, so you fill in the other slots with generic strong effects and in this case some cards from the "k9" archetype. Compare this to MtG deckbuilding, where there's also tribal decks that jam all the good elves or goblins or whatever, but you have much more flexible deckbuilding. The bogeyman of Vivi Cauldron for example relies on Vivi and Agatha's Soul Cauldron, which synergize very well together because of how their mechanics work, not because they refer to each other by name. They could be played in different decks, and it takes some consideration about how good they synergize.

Eh, I think RW fits for the cycle of two color uncommon hybrid legendaries of more minor characters. Plus, R/W is the most Rebels color combination, and one thing Jet definitely is is a Rebel.

Not sure who the BR or UR ones will be- Mai COULD be one of them, since there's definitely the intention of building a Grixis Fire Lord Azula deck with both Mai and Ty Lee in the 99, but I'm kind of blanking on characters that don't already have cards. I suppose Zhao could be a good fit for B/R (since the jumpstart version of him is mono red) but honestly the most U/R characters I can think of are the mechanist, who isn't important enough to get more than one card, and Sokka, who not only already has a UR card, but has three standard cards already.
