1. There is no set date, it lasts as long as anons have interest (JITE) or as long as it keeps being posted (MHA). The average MP can last from a few weeks to a few months.
2. Mix of both. Sometimes a cyoa gets posted out of nowhere and people start playing, sometimes anon pitches an idea and people make plans before the whole thing launches.
3. Personally, no. I would like a change of pace, demon eyes' premise of school kids in magic shenanigans the adults don't notice would be too close to the deceased JITE.

Highly variable. But for those that aren't stillborn, usually around 3 months, I think. You can browse through threadslave rentry and compare between first and last writefag or something.
We can have more than one cyoa at the same time, but depending on the population even 3 might be pushing it.
MHA is an aberration that went on for years, but it's hibernating right now as it tends to have activity cycles. It still gets posted because having a single cyoa is a bit annoying to threadslave, and a core of our population is MHAfags that still hold on to hope of it returning.

Mythic lands is about ruling over places, not exploring/colonizing them. Plus, Fairy Tail is actually doing this with the 100 Year Quest saga, so it has a basis in the setting to be built off of and just needs stuff to support it.

Parts you did well on: characterization. I feel that every character was pretty accurately represented and that all of them felt quite balanced, even considering that Kaoru was the lead. Quite impressive given the character amount. I also felt that you did a good job with pacing, and the story beats didn't feel particularly rushed. I didn't spot any grammar or spelling errors beyond a single accident, though I am tired so there could be more. Not like perfect spelling or grammar is required anyway. I also enjoyed that a relevant theme to multiple buids was explored: the theme of trust. It may be actually possible for anons to work together to actually explore this theme!
The few parts I feel need work: the combat scenes were alright-to-meh. That's a thing I noticed a lot: "and then they did this". Less like reading a story, and more like reading leaked spoilers for an upcoming chapter of a manga if that makes any sense. Fight scenes are quite difficult however, and I feel like few (if any) anons do them well. While the fighting scenes suffered the most from this, I feel like the karaoke scene suffered from that as well, like any segment where a character was about to sing. Obviously, this is not a small writefag, so I believe the culprit is the amount of characters. Maybe in the future you should try and reign in the amount of characters involved? It's quite difficult to juggle all at once, and even when successfully doing so- as I feel you did here- it can result in the writefag suffering overall. Finally, I feel like there's a lack of 'impact'. Maybe if the emotions and reactions of the characters were detailed more, more impact could shine through? Not so sure on that myself.

Good work. The standout factors were Kaoru's byplay with her Idolon, and her growing bonds with Takaishi and Ai.

One weird part is where Shu questions Kaoru on her mark. It was already established with Mei and Sayaka when they saved thay bystander that the mark can appear on anyone, not just Awakened, and they even mentioned it during Haunted Home Visit, so the infection theory is narrowing the scope of the mission for the sake of giving Kaoru more mental anguish, which was unnecessary as her struggle with her dual identity was already well developed.

But outside of that, it was nice. The fight was easy to follow, the karaoke moment was cute, and my build (Momo) was in character when featured, so nice job.

Parfaite's pretty casual about religion and spirituality, revering the Kami and the Buddha as most do, but also having some things she's picked up from her travels mixed in. Momo went from believing in them during her childhood thanks to her grandma's stories, then started thinking it was nonsense as she grew older, then had no choice but to believe again after she awakened. As for how she feels, decidedly unworried because Simply Red can kick yokai asses if they try anything with her. Madoka didn't particularly believe in them, mostly because she felt some cues from the adults around her growing up- that they were pretending rather than serious... but that also means she grew up with the mindset that the supernatural is something 'fun', like a game being played. She'd find things like Shu's house quite fun as a result.

Kukurihime made it a point to drive home that Yokai are mostly actively evil, which put a damper on her spirits and forced her to take them seriously. She's still got a somewhat light-hearted and mischievous outlook though. For example when she prays at a shrine for new years, she'll be cheeky like she's talking to a peer rather than with the reverence you'd expect of someone who thinks gods are a real thing now.

In fact, Devil's Hands ends with her taking a pretty big L from the heroes and resorting to the puppet to study those responsible for that L to develop a better plan.

Being a projection isn't necessary, but I felt like it would be more fun and personal than just another possessed person.

I think Reiji SUCKS! Unlike Alyona whose main base of operations was the school, the character placed himself in too high of a position in his own hierarchy to the point he was isolated from Higan. And it tracks because all he's done so far is be a side quest dispenser to Itsuki. He was already spiritually an NPC. His only saving grace would be Idea World quests, but if 50% of the build is a miss, it sucks.

Tbh that's what makes him interesting to me and why I hope his anon comes back. If he goes villain, I think he will be way more of a threat in the real world than the supernatural one. If he goes hero, it will be from real world friendships and him realizing that he's actually not above it all. He just has to do more stuff for either to happen.

Shu glaze has gotten out of hand. I don't care for ship war nonsense but when 3/4 of the supposed antagonist faction is giving him verbal sloppy poppy while they try to kill him, I cannot feel much tension in the story. Nicknaming him as clark kent is laughable because he is supposed to be a bit of a loser in some continuities, not Mr gigachad. And even superman has his flaws.
