What happened to that original road trip horror idea that an anon came up with weeks ago?
All I recalled from the thread was:
>Giant ominous highway that never seems to end
>encountering wild monsters, cryptids, towns, etc
>somehow go to Hawaii, Alaska, Europe, etc.
>Ghost Car, anomalous cars and drivers, the running man
>Reasons why the players would stay would be because of being obsessed journalists getting big pay
Can we continue the idea?

Gee, if only you could use 4plebs or any other archive, find that thread and read it, instead of making this thread...
And then bump the idiocy of it for the next 3-5 weeks, ofc

Who cares? You're never going to use it in a game. You won't reply to this or any post in the thread and you're not a real person.

God forbid we have a discussion about traditional games on this board.

Or bitching when people call you out for your aimless thread about nothing in particular?

The roadtrip idea was coherent enough to make me think that OP was actually thinking about it as an actual campaign idea, but he only had the rough outline, and wasn't sure if he could develop it from there. Talking to /tg/ about how to expand on and get the most out of ideas didn't used to be so rare, but it is now. Mostly because people get drowned out between the dozens of "tell me about the last sandwich your character ate" kind of threads, which are legitimately about nothing and very much exist to spoof activity and make this place look less dead.

You can start discussing traditional games at any time but you have yet to actually do so.

Feels like a great excuse to do fully-episodic games, where you can fill seats with 'hitch-hikers' and do monsters of the week, small towns, wasteland expanses, camping, scarcity problems.
I actually started watching Supernatural recently, and it's shit, but it might be good as a model.
Anonymous No.96899104 [Report] >>96902996

Consult Small Towns, the tail end of the period when /tg/ was still making games.
I can repost it in about 2-3 hours, when I will get home

It really shouldn't be difficult to describe the last meal your character ate in your game, if you actually have one.

Every weird place has an exit. There's no jumpscare monsters that run really fast and scream at you. The Long Road is governed by a certain sort of dream logic, though someone may not understand it at first. There are maybe a few old travelers who have passed through some parts of the Road, but there's no organization or agency or business that is attempting to monetize the weird road trip zone.

>Supernatural
I stumbled across an open directory, took the first three eps, and it was down before I decided I was willing to suffer through more of it.
I've not even watched the third episode, to be honest, but the framing conceit seemed workable, and MotW shows like that, Buffy, X-Files, Fringe etc. are decent Delta Green fodder.

>>96907353
>>96905195
Night Shift was happening before I was into that sort of UA/DG stuff, it just seemed like a lot of "wouldn't it be fun if weird stuff happened?"
I think this 'Long Road' idea is a lot more gameable, you can do different social feelings and biomes and shit, and you don't have the classic dungeon design problem of "why don;t the orcs in room 4 just kill the bears in room 6?"

>>96907664

This is very good, Delta Green and Supernatural as ideas for it for the foundation and basis.
Long Road btw, I like the name. But Long Roaders?
And the night shift, is it Stephen King we’re talking for that or? Cause I also love the dream logic and could work on surrealism somehow crashing with realism for a solid story.

Maybe have this be a Mouth of Madness with Azathoth being responsible, tie it in with the delta green roots?

>gas stations are always deserted except for other road trippers
>lights at the gas station flicker on as dusk approaches

sounds pretty comfy desu, maybe would work well with CoC or something

Night Shift, as in the /tg/ project, which you could have figured out just from reading the thread, gpt-san.

Night Shift is a lot of fun for one-shots. We played several and tweaked it to our liking too. It's an awesome little thingie that /tg/ made.

I saw but didn't get to read much of the old thread. Are we just spiralling ideas that fit the concepts or are we actually trying to work on a setting and/or system? If a system, is it bespoke or a hack? Is it intended for one shots of spooky fun or longer form games?

Anyway, here's an idea I'm stealing from a friend from a game he ran. A farmstead where the residents are caught in some time-bullshit, weeping angel from Doctor Who style. They aren't statues, they're just frozen in time when you look at them. But from their perspective, everything still moves as normal, so to them outsiders are the weird ones (they don't trigger the effect on each other) who look, move, and sound human (when you can't see them but they can see you) but can suddenly turn into indistinct blurs (as what you see as them frozen in time is but an instant from their perspective because they don't experience being frozen).

You could also take it the other way. You don't turn into indistinct blurs and they experience all the time frozen at normal speed, but they think you're the supernatural threat or witches or some shit because you can freeze them in place with but a look.

That isn't a question anyone who actually plays games cares about at all. it's not even a topic of discussion. It's just vapid prattle to make the board look like it isn't dead, largely done by people who are suspiciously incapable of holding a real conversation about real hobbies that they actually have an engage in.
