No, because most of the games I have played in took place in medieval, ancient or prehistory fantasy themed settings, not 18th century america, where paper, printing and being able to read is common..

Yes, beause the game i have played in took place in a kitchen sink setting with a steampunk corner, where paper, printing and being able to read was common.

So we were in Steampunk town and worked for Corpo 1 under false identity to get in a position to screw over Corpo 2, who had the McGuffin we were after. Corpo 2 eventually put wanted posters up that showed our false identities

Isn't it one of those anachronisms people just accept as part of basic medieval fantasy?

GM implied he would put my character one one (for being undead and torturing a goblin in our "hate crime goblins for pay" campaign) then chimped out, gave him a story death at level 4, and kicked me from the campaign without a word after weeks of seething about me in subtle ways primarily for derailing the campaign accidentally

If it's fantasy, how can anything be anachronistic?

I can however accept wanted posters in my fantasy TTRPG campaign.

Yes, but he wore a mask and had a alias. So he did do a stunt of eating by one for shit and giggles since no one could tell it was him.

Whether or not something breaks a person's immersion doesn't determine if it's an anachronism.
