When will the moderators enforce their policy against spamming/flooding and extremely low quality posts against the redditor puckee, who has been shitting up /tg/ for 5 years?

Sarcasm aside he did it because he was mad at our party (mainly me) for derailing by doing new player bullshit and 2 players torturing a goblin together making his favorite npc leave the party. The CR5 boss didn't even kill me, I was killed without initiative in an instant lose situation as a "story death."
That said shitposting is always acceptable in shit threads

5 years? I've been away for a bit so maybe my memory isn't much to rely on but I don't recognise this name from a few years ago. That said, whether it was him or not, ten years ago people told me I was too late to enjoy proper /tg/ and it's only been downhill from there thanks to no-engagement spammers. I keep being surprised by how low this board can fall. Real shame

For the past few years, my hidden threads have stayed anywhere between 130 and 140; the only times I've had less than 100 threads hidden during this time is after a few days away from the board as a result of hiding literally every thread on the catalog.
Having said that, there's still no better place to discuss games.

I don't know for certain but I think he was afraid of confrontation and telling me no for anything until the very end (like if I can play what was essentially a Dhampir wizard in 2024 5E), then kicked me & another player out in the middle of the night. In his defense I think while we used to get along our personalities clashed and I needed him to be blunt with me about things, which he refused to do, instead agreeing until he personally got burnt out but only sporadically putting his foot down, instead all his statements seemed wrapped in either sarcasm or banter so it was hard to tell what was serious and what was shitposting. He ended up wanting to TPK and rewrite the entire campaign by the end, which he had done once before. The other player he kicked was the one that was in the game the longest. He also gave the advice to multiple players that if they were a "control freak" they should DM instead. He was a great writer, but clearly struggled with DMing.

A number of low level enemies that they can easily beat, and then one enemy that is just slightly above their level but with an easy escape route for them to get away and have to fight it another time. Like a nest of goblins and then troll that they can wound but not finish off their weapons, or a bunch of skeletons but then a vampire spawn but its during the daytime so as soon as you get outside it can't follow you.

The goal is to let them farm some xp, but also give them something that makes them recognize that they are not yet strong enough to just assume they can win EVERY fight and they will have a greater sense of accomplishment when they get a rematch a few sessions and a level or two higher from now.

Good point.
That's why I like gnolls.
Have the party travel with some buffed up caravan guards between two towns, they get attacked by gnolls. The PCs gang up on like, 1 gnoll, as level 1 PCs. Maybe 2. The caravan guards deal with the rest. Then have them fight a couple gnolls at level 2 and have a hard time of it. Then level 6 or 7 they can fight a whole fortress full of gnolls and effortlessly dispatch them.

Very context dependent:

>Medieval Bumfuck Village
Wolves. Bandits. Goblins.

>Urban Centre; Medieval
Thugs. Corrupt Guards. Rabid Dogs

>Wilderness
Bandits. Wolves. Military Deserters

Basically, whatever isn't much more than a basic damaging attack and an HP pool (and maybe some very limited tactics).

This, of course, is all about reasonable enemies that the party is expected to be able to defeat. If you want to throw a 'fuck you' at em', the sky's the limit. Even if you aren't being uncharitable, you could probably still get away with a strong enemy by knocking down its most potent tools with some justification (just got away from a dangerous fight, cursed by an evil wizard/god, weak after a time period in hibernation/torpor/hell, et cetera).
