Are you surprised when art dump threads get killed off when they reach image dump limit? Part of the fun of these threads is being able to post elf art. Once that's done you kinda pass out unless someone's want to world build.

I'll world build.

In my world, elves originally come from an island called Fhinnaire, but dwarf explorers dug a tunnel connecting the island to a nearby continent, many elves decided to colonize it. This lead to the main three races of elves on the new continent of Dromgea; the dark elves in the north, the high elves in the south, and the Moon Elves in their sanctuary valley. That sanctuary valley is the birthplace of their goddess, who's sat on a throne on the equator where she performs miracles powered by moonlight. Over the centuries the elves of Dromgea lost their antlers, the main difference between them and the elves of Fhinnaire.

To the south of Fhinnaire is the island of Alviae, invaded by humans seeking refuge from an immense volcano and setting up the kingdom of Pritany, a kingdom mostly composed of half-elves.

The dwarf tunnels connect a worldwide network of dwarven fortresses, so elves were able to travel the world before humanity's ascension. This spread Elvish craft, culture, and philosophy across the world. Before the age of humanity Elves were at their hegemonic height, but would fall to humanity as their long lives make them risk-adverse and their new homeland is hospitable enough to maintain their lifestyle. In the north a human empire called Veskala is expanding rapidly, at constant war with the dark elves.

This is my drow OC, can I play at your table?

>Quarnolu (born Izzrak Auvryndar) was born in the Year 1440, Nightal 16 as the fourth child of a lowly house, which was barely worthy of a footnote in the grand design of Menzoberranzan.
>The father was an unknown half-drow and the mother a mere merchant, dreaming of living a bigger life.

>They grew up in Duthcloim and, despite being more tolerant of other races than the rest of Menzo, the young drow could feel the judgement and whispers behind their back.

>After turning 16, they discovered their 'gift' (Blessed of Corellon) and truly started to feel the crushing oppressiveness of Lolthian society.
>For years ' Izzrak' tried to hide themselves, especially weary of any Priestesses of Lolth or their close relatives.

>As a Blessed of Corellon their mere existence was a threat to their society.

>One of those days in 1492 they came across the flaying of an Eilistraeen priestess and then her sacrifice. With her final words (being praise to the dark maiden) ringing in those ears, the young drow was impressed by her devotion. They ditched the Underdark and arcane studies, scraping together what they could to get a more experienced scout to show them the way out.

>After wandering through the Underdark for a while and finally reaching the surface, they changed their name.
>Expecting Silverymoon they instead were smuggled to Luskan, but with their meager savings already at its end, there was little choice but to stay.

>For a while they worked in the service industry and due to their nature they attracted many patrons, but despite their popularity the feeling of alienation didn't lessen.

>After making enough, they left for Glimmerwood and joined the drow there in their worship of Eilistraee.

just like there has to be a area where things are clearly elves despite not being called that (GW will never officially call "aeldiarie" or whatever space elves, but they clearly are) there has to be an area where something that's called an elf clearly isn't an elf (like this truck)

Fingolfin would never get around to dueling Feanor in the first place. Feanor was high king of the Noldoli and Fingolfin understood and respected his place in that hierarchy, that's why he was such a good brother.
You see, Feanor wouldn't even have to fight and he would win. The only thing that stopped him was all the combined forces of the powers of hell at their peak fighting him at once.

I am willing to go that far. The Eldar are unironically in my opinion, the most unique and coolest take on the concept of elf out there. They manage to elevate the concept beyond just "humans with pointy ears and magic abilities" to a more interesting and unique idea both in terms of their lore and aesthetics.

>>96948116
The Eldar of 40k have basically nothing in common with Tolkienian elves besides using the term Eldar and being elves.
Their aesthetics, and lore are wildly divergent from Tolkien's elves. Tolkiens' elves are essentially monotheistic idealized humans, who, while inherently magica, still more or less create and produce tools, societies and ways of life comprehensible to humans, whereas the Eldar are polytheistic superhuman beings that were made as psychic warriors whose psyche is fundamentally alien to humanity, and their tech is essentially all weird pseudo organic psychic shit that humans can't even use.

Elves are mythological, their attributes are fluid and ill-defined. All of those things are Elves, depending on your definition. Dwarves, Fairies, Santa Claus, Gnomes, and the Finnish are all Elves depending on who you ask.
