This is an “it is what it is” kinda thing and I certainly don’t wanna sound like I’m making an excuse, but they definitely don’t bring their A-game on the retro figs. I don’t know if the retro aspect lowers their standards or if they have lesser talent working on them or if their sales just warrant poorer paint etc. but these do kinda miss the mark in a way that isn’t entirely unfamiliar or unprecedented.

A few of their retro figs that come to mind are also obviously not sculpted to be realistic, so that caricature effect can be a bit of a crutch or excuse to not nail a likeness.
