Yeah, you can tell I don't use HLJ that often. I often never see the preorders until they're already up and most are sold out.
I remember there was a way to get the HLJ links early which was to camp at myfigurecollection and wait till the preorder time starts and someone would post the link and everyone would jump in on it. I got one of the DX VF-31 doing this way but it seems that site is barely used these days.
Also just realized Combatman is limited to 1 per person which sucks, I'll have to order them through multiple sites to get multiple copies of them.

You referring to the Shinkocchou Seihou Ultraman figure? Yeah it's price like that because Shinkocchou Seihou is Bandai's premium version of Figuarts and nowadays that price is the standard price for an SS figure. Not that I agree with it in occasions like the first Ultraman or Kamen Rider The First whose accessories are barebones yet are roughly similar priced as other SS figures that do come with a hell of a lot more accessories such as Kamen Rider Gaim. Ultraman Arc is a mainline release so it's more basic and cheaper in comparison.

It's not exactly the accessories that makes SS Ultraman doubled the price though he does come with a few more accessories than Arc as you can see pic related (The SS Ultraman up for preorder is a reissue just FYI). It's mainly because of the Shinkocchou Seihou line it's a part of which is designed as a high end premium Figuarts sub-line and thus more expensive. The team behind it design the figures by sculpting a skeleton and then a human body over it and then the suit design over it. The idea is that the figure replicates the actual suit actor's body proportions and make it look like it is actually a guy in a suit. The articulation also mostly gets a slight upgrade, incorporating swivel joints in the elbows and knees for more range though personally I never use it and would be fine if they didn't bother. Build and plastic quality YMMV on whether it feels better than a mainline in your hands. Generally from experience I would say they feel more smoother to handle than a regular mainline Figuarts.
I do still think Ultraman's price is a bit higher than I would like but it's much better than Kamen Rider The First who only cokes with hands for the same price (and is P-Bandai to boot).

Bandai's plamo division got a headstart with that ugly as sin Hoshino kit from BFTry 10+ years ago and only got better from there. They even managed to snag Fumikane Shimada the creator of Strike Witches to oversee their 30MM and eventually 30MS line.
Tamashii really needs to hire more sculptors who are well versed in making female anime figures.

To be honest I couldn't find a good source to corroborate the news. Apparently reddit is the only one talking about it but it's reddit and I'm not sure they're trustworthy. This is definitely a behind the scenes bullshit that never gets announced and those on the inside would know. IIRC that was similarly how people discovered Bandai banned sites like AmiAmi and Hobbysearch from selling their Gunpla kits because a cease and desist(?) was leaked revealing those sites didn't do anything to combat the scalpers.

But there's no other way to make him bend more, since his torso is covered by changeable rubber robe piece. Anime designs are pretty hard to capture for articulated toys, what works in 2D may not work in 3D when the figure is assembled from many parts. Onigashima Zoro or Shanks have ordinary robes but it cover their articulated chest anyway, here Bandai could've cut the rubber robe and given more articulation. But Gintoki has more complex design.

My OG Sailor Jupiter's drop-down hips cracked at the hinge and had to be glued in place ages ago but I managed to get the anime reissue from an import shop on my birthday. Holy shit what a glow-up. Kinda miss the satin-effect paint on the clothes and the airbrushing on the hair but she's otherwise a trillion times better; joints feel so much sturdier, skintone is nicer and they even resculpted her legs! The skirt is a bit harder for some reason, but not unworkably so. Definitely gonna replace my OG release Usagi and hopefully get the rest of the Inners.

God I hope that they're still planning to work on more Bleach stuff. But if they're cancelling it due to lack of interest, that's literally their own fault. They're the ones who half-assed the figures. Especially the first ones. The only reason I got all of them was because I was a big Bleach fan, but even I can see that Renji, Byakuya, Kenpachi and Toshiro were pretty lazy releases.
Luckily the last two Ichigos are a big improvement on what they come with at least, but they're Ichigos. Give people another character with cool effects pieces like a Grimmjow, or Ulquiorra, or even one of the TYBW guys like As Nodt or Uryu, anD I'm sure they'll buy into it.

I personally think his best look is his Lost Children armor, and that has never gotten a figure at all. Same for his other Conviction armor set, which is a close second in my ranking. I've always thought the Berserker armor was over designed. I'm not trying to change your mind on it, and yeah the first SHF sucks, but so much of the modern merch (Figma Plamatea, PoP, statues ECT) are one of his Berserker armor looks. If not, it's always Black Swordsman or Raider Captain from Golden Age. I just want a Conviction arc Guts before I die.

Yeah, the appeal of an AY Guts would be that it would be an angular and dynamic sculpt with obscene articulation.
The guy who did the female MHA revos does an okay job, but the figures are pretty much Figma/SHF like in finish, which doesn't provide much of a difference compared to the SHF we got.
