I know it's beating a dead horse, but man is the price of Shield D Prime an immeasurable disappoint.
Between import taxes, shipping and currency conversion rates, it'd cost nearly AUD $500.
It's functionally impossible to justify that expense on a single toy.

I know these aren't great examples, and they're 30MM rather than 30MF, but panel lining with markers is very forgiving.
You can build a 30M_ model and have a fun figure out of the box from the get go though, and there's nothing stopping you for doing a pure build and going back later if the mood takes you.

Can confirm, probably one of the only reasons I was able to break into this hobby at all is this. Panel lining is such a simple thing to do for maximum results. Honestly, if you're exclusively working with Bandai models, you could just get by with Gundam markers (I use pour types) to fill the lines in. They work great with the kinds of plastic Bandai usually uses, but be aware you run the risk of melting some other kinds without proper pre-treatment.

It's a great way to make a model really pop and look complete that can require as little effort as just drawing/pouring the lines in and wiping off any mistakes. This was one of my first efforts.

Try the gunpla websites in your local country. they usually have a pretty decent stock of them. Or order directly from a japanese site like Ami or HLJ, and import it yourself. They're cheap enough that you can get a huge stack of them, and save on combined shipping

My Waruder Roars Jaguar arrived today! This is only my second Diaclone figure ever (the first being the Tactical Mover Horus Versaulter that I posted here a while ago), and my first Waruder faction one. I love him - he's basically a Zoid that can transform. I'm also surprised at how big he is - I was expecting him to be around the same size as the Horus, but in either of his two bipedal forms he ends up towering over it.
Not going to do anything too in-depth, just show off some pics of his forms; this one's his basic Jaguar form (with his Waruder pilot). While I wish he had some side-to-side capabilities with his head, he does manage to have some hip movement instead. The black nub hanging off of his chest is the extra connector for his Combined Mode with the Waruder Geist (which I don't own); I just didn't like the idea of leaving pieces in the box.

The first bipedal form, "Saurer Mode". Transformation is pretty simple - it basically just stands upright and the torso swings a bit while the ears/horns rake forward. looks cool, though, and those sawblades on each side of his chest spin, so I imagine he could shred someone pretty easily if he gets them into a bear hug. The articulated fingers are pretty neat, and his head actually can move from side to side in this mode. He also has what looks like wings with big boosters - a jump-pack, maybe?

Second bipedal form, "Deathaug Mode". It's far more humanoid, with the Jaguar head rotating around into the torso and a new one popping up from underneath, while the legs just straighten out to make it taller. The tail detaches to form a whip, and can clip into either hand.
He apparently has another mode where he splits into two separate pieces, but they don't really look like much - just a chicken-walker with a jaguar head and literally a cat's ass that walks around on its own. He also has the previously mentioned combined form with Geist, which looks cool, but I can't do because I don't own him.
Anyway, I thought this guy was neat, and he's definitely one of my new favorites.

If you think that's cool, you should try to get your hands on a Vajra or Geist at a decent price. I feel like the soldier type Waruders have a ton more modularity and customization than the jaguar. And the cool thing about waruders is that you can just keep combining them into massive incomprehensible alien monstrosities

I love how the fan combinations are way better than the official ones put out for the Transformers Wild King line. These can be real fun if you can think outside the box.

I'm surprised at how high quality the MFT stuff is. Plastic is basically the same. QC is a bit patchier than official, mostly tolerances here and there, but it's no worse than you'd get from Hasbro. For 20 bucks, it's a steal.

Check the local websites for your country. I've used Newtype.us and USAGundamnstore in the past. But I usually go with whoever happens to have better stock at the time. 30MM is cheap enough that you might want a small stack, so just compare sites and see who has what you want

Exactly what I intended to do, I thought the Liber Warrior armor looked a lot better than the Rosan one. It doesn't look quite as good as I was expecting, but still looks good I think. Once I panel line it it'll probably look even better.

If they have color photos of Atlas, that means Savage is only about a year out. Since all of the Astrobots are so remold-heavy the pairs have quick turnaround.

With that said, I wasn’t planning on getting this guy but these pictures are swaying me. I like the white plastic they’ve used and the body is very cool.

Their stock of Bandai stuff is always hit or miss, mostly because Bandai themselves don't send them a ton of stuff because Bandai don't want japanese stores offering japanese stock worldwide, so you either get your order in the first 5-10 minutes of them being up, or you're waiting a long, long time for a restock.
HLJ at least do have the Roundnova II in stock for the time being.

You're able to attach the 30MM shoulder and thigh joints directly onto the 30MS stuff easily. The shoulder ball joint is the same size, and with a little effort you can squeeze the thigh joint onto the 30MS 3mm peg.

i can't keep track of all the zoids lines.

They're called 'Sheik mainland Fortishield' and they're diaclone scale. You get three mecha that look like Front Mission or Valken assault suits for $15 and they're sprue kits, full abs. The drivers are $9 for six of them and they're the same articulation/build as the diaclone pilots.

Pilots come with super tiny tools that will immediately get lost and the mecha come with 4 different guns/melee. Really nice detail and they're fun!

if you want to get crazy with it, you can get a set of glass files to sand the nubs smooth. but 30MM isn't really fancy enough to bother going overboard. just a razor blade and a steady hand is all you need. might not hurt to invest in a cheap set of needle files if you really want to
