I made the MGS1 cast. Got the trenchcoats off ebay. Some pieces I erased the prints with an eraser, mainly Snake's vest and the back of Gray Fox's head. I think my brick build larger sized Vulcan Raven might need a bit of work but I still like it

It's based on the Schumacher films and has a mix of minifigs from both Batman Forever and Batman and Robin. That's all we know so far, only update we got was from a leaker that this set is still coming.

I guess lineup will be Gordon, Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Dr. Chase, Riddler, Two Face, Mr Freeze, Poison Ivy and Bane and some guard.

It boggles the mind that Lego hasn't made an updated version of the Tie Defender, it's been 15 years and there's been a number of remakes of Tie models that didn't get sets in a long time since then.

They only recently did remakes of the Interceptor and bomber after 20 years of absence and those are way more iconic and marketable. It's a miracle we got a TIE Defender in the first place.
Also since Episode 7 dropped it's been non-stop movies or shows each year, all of which they have to make sets for. Also they've been focusing a lot on clones the last few years because it's selling like crazy apparently.

We'll probably get one after they do the TIE Avenger, whenever that may be. Give it 5 more years and this will be considered an "iconic retro piece of Lego history" and we'll get a new version

Absolute favourite and extremely kino set. Something about a more mundane setting for a set that most non-city stuff lacked even by the mid 00s, having peasants for my knights to defend etc. I sorted all the parts and rebuilt it last year, most of my old sets I use for moc parts or adapt into mocs but I can't do that with this one, I love it too much, though I've changed the minifigs a bit, i don't like the female faces from that era.

Both Nexo Knights and Space Police are also up there for me, though it might be more interesting to get a theme focused on spies like Spyrius or Blacktron rather than more Space Police. Ultimately the theming of Space is superficial; as long as they're cool spaceships, I don't care what the setting is.
Nexo Knights was always great, but the 2018 wave was wasted potential since the villains mainly had vehicles rather than monsters. If Nexo Knights were to become a long-running theme where both sides had mostly vehicles, that would be a sufficient Space substitute for me.

Can any technic specialists or good builders help me figure out the best way to build a support for my elevated monorail track? I have it running directly over the train track so the support beams have to be off to the side. So on pic related the 2x2 bottom of the support beam is placed 3 studs to the left of the 2x2 connection point on the underside of the monorail track. A couple more pics incoming for more reference. Any guidance is appreciated.

Its approximately seven bricks up from the top of the support to the track. This seems to be as close to the proper angle as I can get but its not right. I should have paid more attention is geometry class.

Well I can't support it directly underneath. There is got to be a good way to do this. I did just find the correct angle with an 11L technic beam but any heavy downward pressure on the track makes the technic build disconnect from the tall supports. Does anyone know any sets where builds like this were attempted? Should I just try to support from both sides?

Pic related for me, the “Coast Watch HQ” - it took some googling to find that name and photo, lol, it’s set 7047 for the curious. Awesome little set with a cool baseplate, the helicopter (which is a really great simple build, I remember it well), the speedboat, the control tower with a radar dish and screens and stuff inside. Some nice pieces in there too although I mostly kept the set together and just added things onto it. It ended up being “the base” for my guys for years, whatever those guys were at any given time. Good memories.

I noticed a lot of people chose a playset or a base as their “defining” childhood set, there’s something kind of wholesome in that imo. I feel like Lego had a shortage of good playsets for a while, at least until recently, but maybe I just got older and didn’t care.

Your hypotenuse can't be 9 as you have it here (the number of holes minus 1, because it's the length in bricks between the pivot points).
Two bricks wide is 5 plates, so 1 brick is 2.5 plates wide. Considering this, it's easiest to measure everything in plates. Your hypotenuse here is 22.5 plates. Based on your pictures it seems what you need is a 5 brick width, ie 12.5 plates.
The most suitable triple I can think of is (5,12,13) = (5 brick widths, 30 plates, 13 brick widths) = (5 brick widths, 10 brick heights, 13 brick widths). You'd need to attach multiple technic pieces together to reach 13 (remember that means 14 holes) and use a shorter support but I think that would make it more structurally stable anyway.

You need to focus on making the support itself sturdy. Those 2x2 pin bricks have vertical technic axles iirc, so combined with the pillar pieces you can fasten them more securely with technic axles. For a larger support four of them in a square could be cross-supported using 2xsomething technic plates.

It’s been a few years but I remember the theme didn’t receive a whole lot of marketing and was released during some of the more “Golden Years” of a bunch of licenses like Star Wars. Outside of Scooby Doo, family friendly horror/mystery is a very tiny niche. And then of course it was discontinued the December before the first wave of Scooby Doo . There have been a lot of original IPs that were just prof of concepts for licenses. Like that one dinosaur theme that preceded Jurassic Park that used the exact same molds.
