No. Being taller doesn't help with offense, it makes you worse at it. And you have less defense if your ratchet is always in danger of being Burst. Shark wants to be as low as possible specifically to target ratchets, you're going in the opposite direction. There's a reason no one ever uses 80-height ratchets, and it's not that people just haven't considered them or tested them, it's because they suck. All of the CX Beys are mid because they're too tall to do anything.

The problem is that the extra height and weight isn't substantial enough to make a difference. Probably the easiest way to understand it is to look at MFB. I'm not an expert in it, not even close, but the extremes in heights were much more variable. The power of something like a 230 height track is that it absorbs blows from low height attackers, since the metal of a low attacker won't be able to reach the metal of a high blade, making it harder for it to take out. Meanwhile, a ratchet is a big, glaring weak point. Making a bigger weak point is like wearing a Kick Me sign. The 70 ratchets sometimes see use, for example on Tyranno Beat, but that's more to take advantage of its contact points.

Okay, so. I just got back from a casual sparring event with a few WBO peeps. They were prepping for the big Chicago tournament happening next weekend, and they wanted to practice. We did a few normal seasons, but I got them to try something WILD: Reversal.

I took the idea from Keyforge. Basically, you bring the most useless shite of a deck you can, and you give it to your opponent to use. They give you an equally shitty deck, and you ride that race to the bottom to see who can polish the shiniest turd. I have my opponent:

It's actually kind of sad to see that B&B is breaking up the first three CX releases to sell as single parts. The x-over beys are more of a collector's item, you're not really supposed to battle with them so don't bother with the reviews, get it if you like how it looks.

If you're a fan of Driger consider getting the Pearl Tiger and Gill Shark dual pack, I hear Gill isn't all that great but it comes with Orb and Pearl Tiger is pretty good if you build it right.

Scorio Spear weighs almost 40g and when it came out it was a consistent asshole in tournaments. just did some tricera testing, and ngl it seems really fuckin good. ofc the saviour ratchet/blade combo of 9-60 and under needle made it super good, but even outside of that it has some potential.

Hasbro higher ups are notoriously retarded, the teams are always fighting them for budget and to give fans what they want.
Takara might have direct control of the quality this gen, but they logistically still have to put hasbro in charge of western marketing, tournaments included.

i saw another person talk about their judge letting their opponent counter pick them, pulled out wizard rod and then the opponent started rummaging in their bag and pulled out dragoon E, judge did nothing.
apparently multiple judges were also told to just skip the part checks to save time, though mine didn't

yup. considering Hasbro did their upmost to convince Takara and the tournament staff that absolutely nobody would attend, it makes sense that they wouldn't bother informing them about stuff like launching tech. I completely understand that someone unfamiliar with beyblade would assume "oh i bet he's not allowed to do that"

anyway, my crackpot theory is that Hasbro intentionally set up Takara into unknowingly letting the tournament be prepared as badly as it was. from the stuff that's come out, it seems like Takara has been hounding Hasbro's ass about hosting Japanese style tournaments, but Hasbro kept refusing because they don't see any kind of monetary profit in it. I'm betting that the reason Hasbro kept feeding them info like "13+ regionals wouldn't be worth it" and "only expect 30-50 people max" was to corner Takara into hosting exactly this, a poorly organized tournament in an expensive location that the minimum amount of people had access to. ideally, Hasbro hoped that these unfavorable odds would make their lies come true, "proving" to Takara that western competitive Beyblade is a pointless endeavor so they'll get off Hasbro's ass. Thankfully, the sheer number of people showing up and showing how many comp communities exist in the US alone fucked over Hasbro, and now Takara KNOWS they were full of shit. I'm probably just spinning a narrative, though.
