To answer a question in the previous thread, I am pretty sure these are 3d printed. I got them from a custom seller on ebay but I haven't seen that seller in years, pretty sure these aren't even listed anymore

I missed it by a very narrow margin. It's weird because I've been into Bionicle for most of my life and that was also a little before my time.I have the Mega Dragons movies in my watchlater so maybe watching it jog memories. In terms of sets and designs I like them and if I had the money I would buy some of the sets. Which are surprisingly still cheap on Ebay; well, at least the war chests are.

Genuinely the best toys a kid could ever ask for. People hype up lines like Halo and CoD but Dragons was a thing unlike anything else. They kept innovating with it, trying all kinds of risky stuff and releasing unique sets left and right. The small "plasma dragons" series were super nice quality and still some of my favorite toys to this day. The full eggs that came after are core memories from my childhood and I regret it still that I threw them out in my teenage years. They were stuffed with features too like the collectible cards of each dragon, the crystal with the funny liquid inside and the pure SOVL promotional CDs. I'd argue that even back then Mega had better figs than Lego due to sheer cool factor. All factions were great and collectible (except those weird Orcs with the sprues from the very early days). The theme peaked with Metal Ages but even after that it still had standout releases. Truly depressing that we will probably never get anything like it again.

The saddest part is that aftermarket is severely lacking too. Most stuff is super hard to find be it sealed ir loose. I've been trying to hunt down some of my dreamt of childhood sets I missed out on but the low saturation is making it hard.

If there is a God he'll make Mega do a nostalgia bait remake of the theme before they die for good.

Was picking up sets on sale over time but wasn't motivated to build; dying days of my time off and suddenly I felt the urge. Still have the Floodgate Anniversary, two Arbiter's Quest Banshees and the Elephant, plus some other non-Mega stuff, we'll see.

First up is the Fleetcom Warthog from the rubbish show, Recon Getaway Mongoose and Gungoose Gambit. The latter two are basically the same, other than the differing front parts. The Warthog uses the latest suspension system of purpose-made block pieces fitted with pegs and rubber bands, the fifth (I think) design they've gone through over the years. It comes with two different rear bumper attachments, one with jerry cans and one that can serve to carry that Forerunner artifact mini-build also included - it's nestled in the terrain pieces rather than connected, a clever play feature. With well over a dozen different Warthog sets produced, it's probably as streamlined as it's going to get without dumbing it down Lego-style, something the instructions have already suffered I will say.

The Arctic Burn Wasp is probably my favourite from the lot, while at the same time the biggest frustration. Though I've not played any games where it's available to fly I really like the design and it's a significant improvement over the old Hornet.

My issues with the set are entirely with the colour scheme, for different reasons. On the technical side, they opted for two-toned parts to create the camouflage effect; unfortunately they didn't get the shades of grey on those parts to match up well enough with the solid colour parts and it takes away from the effect some. Is neat that the set includes a code so you can unlock the scheme to use in Halo Infinite, if the game was worth playing anyway. The Mega emblem on the side is a nice touch, too.

My other gripe is that this is the Arctic-themed aircraft I've been waiting for since.. *checks notes* 2012 when Series 3 blind bags included an Arctic Pilot figure, with Series 4 adding an Arctic Pelican Pilot right after... and it's a mix of greys instead of Arctic White.

Lastly there's the Renegade Banshee and Wombat Overwatch. Don't have it to hand but I imagine the original Wombat is barely any different from this one, the difference being the figures included this time around. Never been a fan of the stubby-wing Banshee first introduced in Halo Reach but this is a decent enough execution of it I guess.

Since I'm never touching the show I'll just assume the other Spartans can be whoever I want them to be, though the Fleetcom ones have numbers on their armor like the Chief, who was of course immediately relieved of his non-canon head and fitted with his helmet. Will grant Mega a point for adding little paint apps to the backs of his hands to reflect that he does have armour there.

The UNSC figure included with the Gungoose is labeled as a Marine in the instructions but is wearing an ODST helmet, make of that what you will. The Wombat is more off in that ODST Buck is the included figure when it would be more appropriately Dutch or the Rookie; any of them being issued an AR like the set fig is odd in itself, though I do appreciate the red Plasma Rifle for the Brute.

I really don't like that design of the Jackal, makes them look like they have a retard's over/underbite but I do like the inclusion of a marksman headpiece on this one, helps mitigate the issue some. Guess that's it for now, may or may not get to more of the pile later.

I'll never understand why people sell their collections outside of desperation for money. When I look at my toys I see memories. I still remember my first Mega Bloks Halo sets; my parents were furious with my aunt (who bought them) because they said we couldn't have Lego or any derivatives because my youngest siblings could choke on them. Despite this, they didn;t take it away like they did with our large Lego sets. I have memories like that for a lot of my toys.

I need money sure, but space is paramount. If you have to move, the less you have to take with you, the better. You can always buy this stuff again if you need to, but sometimes you need to get rid of 3 large bins of shit.

Glad people remember these. These basically define Christmas for me. Back around 2001-2002? my dad got me a few of these sets for Christmas when the line debuted and it was a big deal. I still remember seeing them under the tree. I would take some of the mini figs with me to school. my dad would occasionally surprise me with the booster box tins that came with randomized troops. my dad got me a ton of stuff growing up but when I think of Christmas I always think of those. I have other stories regarding those and they are a big part of my childhood memories.

The dragons were well made, and the sets looked good on display. The modular terrain pieces were ahead of its time as well. The only flaw is that the dragons had magnets which degraded over time and leave metal dust everywhere after 20 years. If I was to get these again NIB Iโ€™m not sure if there is a way to get rid of all that shit easily or seal the magnet. A lot of megabloks older toys have magnets that degraded over time. Really shitty because the toys were S tier

My buddy and I got out some dudes from our collections and played, with the 2005 Brikwars "QuikWars" rules.

On my team, Robocop, the Dragonborn (Who was made a dark elf), a dark elf mage on the Silver Surfer's board, and a brotherhood of steel paladin

On his team, Sam Fisher riding on top of a lego batmobile, Skeletor with an axe, Predator, and some kind a active camo spartan.

Robocop fell to the spartan, then the Dragonborn took Sam off the Batmobile, Skeletor took him down, the mage killed predator, and then the mage and paladin duked it out with Skeletor until eventually we came out on top.

Anyone else use their mega stuff for Brikwars?

You could probably throw together some X-com type teams vrs Aliens.
Like xenos could be...I dunno Xenos (sorry)
Halo Spartins OR Grunts could be Mutons.
Okay... I started this in my head with CoD guys.. but the Halo marines work well for Xcom as well.

i collected over 280 different super articulated spartan figures over the years. i remember filling out some of this collection with clearance toysrus sets.

but the last half of my collecting consisted of mostly ebay scalper purchases because you cant find this shit anywhere. now if you go to target, mega construx is just the pokemon lego brand.

any tips on selling these? its just not fun anymore, but this is such a weird autistic collection to have, just the spartans, and so many different ones. i have another bin full of their guns and accessories and spare armor and bodies, too.

I do have a pretty big collection of xenos from those eggs. That could be fun. The quikwars rules were very simple, but with the proper rules you can get a bit creative. I'll have to see if my friend wants to put a little effort in and we can probably have some cool battles. Would give me an excuse to make more terrain too
