I can not fathom getting angry over wishing for something to get better. Truly black/brown mentality.
It's an objective fact that MDs have gotten better over the years while FAGs have basically stagnated with minor internal upgrades that MD already had for years. FAGs have never received parts upgrade kits, blank face kits, and most variants are the exactly same thing with no improvements.
I simply want FAG sized kits with MD tech but I guess you SEA monkeys can't comprehend that.

Not yet. Hopefully they also use white and black limbs on the actual girl, it would be a shame if we finally get good base bodies and the alternate limbs don't match anything. I suppose a gunmetal set would be fine if slightly uncommon.

>There is also no point comparing Witch and Magical Girl to Alice or Red Hood when they are substantial upgrades
You're the one that brought up how it's so "uninnovative" to re-use parts.
They're all just recolors with different weapons reused from separate kits and no upgrade to functionality.
Having a different hairstyle doesn't count dumbass.

>As for Asra, it's 11.
They made11 whole kits with the exact same base parts. lololol

No, I don't autistically pay attention to corporate decision making. I imagine they focus on MD though at one point FAGs seemed to be the frontrunner. FAGs were cutting edge in 2016 but it's very plain to see that the line hasnot kept up or adapted to the innovations that are/have emerged, which sucks because I prefer the 1/10 size and I'm not going to buy chink kits.

You either
1. Spray the knee while it's separate -> assemble and seamweld -> mask knee -> spray everything else
2.Assemble and seamweld->pose theleg in a way where most of the surface on the knee will get sprayed->spray->move pose->spray remaining area

Also, a little bit of grinding will be needed so that the leg's surface touching the knee doesn't scrape off the coating

Frame arms girls are adapted from artwork submitted to the modeling team. If the modeler wants the girl to be accurate to the art, which they do, look how long it has taken them to make Katsuguchi, and how early we have full art of Shingen and Ray Falx, consider that with so many artists submitting such varied designs that having uniform modularity would not be possible.

Megami device on the other hand is essentially just Busou Shinki. You have a base body that an artist is required to conform to to an extent. Development is significantly quicker, and changes to the base body can improve everything down the line.

Super easy. But for small stuff you will want someone with a resin printer rather than a filament one.

>>11462153
I don't sell prints but if you're going to print a lot of stuff, I'm pretty sure it's more cost effective to pay one time for a printer and print yourself vs having to keep buying prints from sellers. Even paid files/patreons are probably cheaper in long run. If you want to profit, I guess it depends on what you're selling and how much demand it has. Many patreon creators require a higher subscription tier if you intend to sell their work. And you shouldn't sell stuff you didn't get permission for. So you will have to sell enough to cover fixed cost of printer and variable cost of files and resin/filament plus packing materials.

Strictly as an action figure Fuma wins pretty easily. Green's skirt is obtrusive, even if it can functionally get out of the way. She does get two swords and the big dress, and she can even go without the dress if that's what you want, then she's just as articulated as Fuma. Fuma is a lot more novel, with some pieces that differentiate her look vs the first few releases of the line, so that's also a plus if you've got some of the older ones.

Ultimately, go for whichever you like best, beyond those.

It's this guy:
https://katanazu.booth.pm/items?page=3
He's got a few pages of stuff. A couple of normal things, and then a whole bunch of weird shit for people who want... I dunno, monstergirl futa or something. As for model files, I don't remember any of the creators off the top of my head, but you can just search up "penis STL" and other such stuff. Something'll pop up pretty quick.
>>11462069
Exceptionally easy. You pretty much just get the 3D model for something, pop it in your desired modelling program, and quickly rescale it. Takes like, a minute. Granted, you have to know the actual measurements you want IRL, but that's not exactly hard to do. It's basically just a couple of steps of busy work overall.
>>11462153
3D printing is EXCEPTIONALLY cost-effective long-term so long as you actually learn to use the thing properly and where to get files from (there's STL piracy groups on Telegram that let you get around paywalls for a lot of the good stuff for example). It's even more cost effective if you either learn how to model parts yourself, or at least pick up on how to rip specific parts off of pre-existing models. For the original topic, this is actually how a lot of people get their futa dick models. They find some of those futa statues on the Telegram channels and rip said dick off of the model, then print it. Overall I've saved literal thousands of dollars over my past 3 years of 3D printing. Granted, 60% of that is because I printed out Warhammer 1-1 model scans for pennies on the dollar instead of paying GW's comical prices, but still.

Ikr. At least the main ant girls all basically use the same body shape as do Gourai and Stylet. Baselard being different from the early earth girls makes sense as she's essentially a gundam, maturing into Rayfalx, and since Wilbur is stolen ant tech she has the ant body shape. The somewhat random body shapes for other girls comes from being built by many different countries. The Vulture/Wyvern would similarly be ant style since they are from what I recall a refinement of the Wilber-Nine + Hresvelgr reverse engineering.

That's Suruga ya. It's not uncommon for them to do free shipping for two out of four weeks in a month. They do it so much they might as well just make it permanent. They'll also semi-frequently have a 20% off coupon you can slap on orders of 8k or more. Good shit when they actually have what you want.

I always found amiami to be the highest, but they're also the best for packaging their stuff, nicer for statues and more delicate items than model kits.
HLJ at least give you price estimates up front and easily let you ship a bunch of stuff at once, they've a fair few different shipping methods as well, which is handy..
Amazon JP gets some weird shipping fees at time, they only ship through DHL, but they must have a pretty nice contract with them, just as an example, HLJ want 14k yen to ship out a Auv Ame No Uzume Sunshine through DHL, but AJP only want 6k yen. Well worth nosing around between the two sites to see if you can snatch a bargain.

had to check this but Iโ€™m pretty sure if correctly interpreted as โ€œparts and accessoriesโ€ (9503002900) rather than the default action figure / doll category (9503002190); they will have 0 import duty. Iโ€™m gonna drop a message to ami-chan asking her to label my order as โ€œplastic model kits- assembly requiredโ€ so it should be fine. Even if this fails, 9503002190 has a duty rate of just 4% and thatโ€™s only if whoever tf is checking isnโ€™t certain that the goods originated in Japan. If they correctly mark the Japanese companyโ€™s goods arriving from Japan as โ€œJapanese originโ€; import duty will still be 0% even in this iffy situation (due to our EPA with Japan). So I donโ€™t think reducing the chance of import duty is worth splitting the parcel- especially since I would likely need to split it three ways to get all under 135ยฃ. But this is the first time Iโ€™ve ordered a parcel over 135ยฃ, so please say if you have experience to the contrary.

Newfriend here, got some newfriend questions
1. I get dark spots after removing nubs (like the ones on the thigh and the knee, they are barely visible because my camera sucks ass), is there any way to remove them? The nubs are basically flat at this point so I can't remove any more plastic
2. My 1200 grit sandpaper leaves noticeable scratches on dark plastic (skirt here), should I get something finer? Or maybe some polishing compound?

Dark spots are discolorations from injection process, you cannot really do anything more about them except painting over. 1200 grit can inteed leave some scratches, I often finish with 2000 or something around but, truth to be told, grits varies wildly between producers so just pick something marked as "fine" or "superfine".

You pay a gaijin tax when ordering from the global site. All prices have been jacked up by ~30% or so.

Yeah, ordering directly from Japan will still be cheaper, even with Surugaya global jacking up prices compared to the JP site.
But like I said, even with the gaijin tax you can sometimes get good deals. Once I found a figure that was cheaper on their JP site than elsewhere, and even with the increased prices on the global site the total came out cheaper than on other JP sites due to the free shipping.
Anyway, that's how the "free" shipping is possible, i.e. it's not really all that free, but you can still get good deals.

I'm sure there are plenty of ways to do it.
>get some green stuff and sculpt it directly on the head
>get the dimensions and sculpt the hair for 3d printing or hire someone to do it for you
>take an existing hair part and add to it via either of the above methods
>buy a fodder figma/shf/etc. that has the hairstyle you want, tear it off the head, and modify it until it fits

In leafland EMS is actually the least expensive besides boat, and averages about 6 days for me when DHL is 4 or so. Then again the import taxes aren't as much here as say Europe. It's the most 'your milage may vary' service since it will be only as good as the postal service in your country.

I once tried making braids with green stuff, even posted it here once. Mediocre effect at best but on my defense I'm not experienced with sculpting at all. Probably should make wireframe first with some more rigid material and build around it. When I watched recently videos on making anime figurines with clay artist indeed harden core elements first and add layers of material over existing ones.

Knees were fine. Elbows are a little sketchy, like the pin feels really tight until you get it all the way home, then it's fine. The pin being on the shorter forearm part doesn't help, so just be careful not to ham hand it. If anything I might have to sand the shoulder balls a little bit. Mostly I hate that the microphone boom is molded into one of the hair parts, seems like it could get bent or broken off during assembly if I didn't watch carefully where it was sticking out. The head 'core' being two pieces that don't attach together and only stay in place once you sandwich them between the two main hair parts was just dumb. Overall no particular problems during assembly, though. The kit is pretty solid and Toki a cute.

Tamiya nippers to remove them from the runner, leave about 2 to 3mm of nub, some in with a single blade nipper and cut just off the surface of the part. Then use the knife or sand paper or file to remove the rest ot the nub and correct the surface.

Godhand spn-120 is the gold standard but any single blade nipper is fine for beginners. I've used the same base tamiya nipper for my first cut nipper for damn near 15 years, I've had 4 spn-120 in about the same.

For 4-5k yen (pre-owned) and the amount of stuff you get, I think it's worth buying.
I especially like those pearl frills that hide the thigh and bicep twist axis.
As usual for Koto stuff, most of the little details need painting in.

If you do plan to get her, a word of warning - her twintails are on very small ball joints. They WILL break if you do a straight build.
Please remember to sand them down a little before popping them in the hair, or even replacing them with a different joint all together if you feel like being a bit more advanced.

Happened to me, and i had to drill a hole from the inside of the hair to get the ball out from the socket.

Plamax and plamatea are both really weird. Some plamax kits are very good like the guilty princess/ bunnysuit planning/ godz order kits. Then there are stinkers like the racing miku 22, which baffles me how strange some of the design choices are.

Plamatea doesn't have as much out yet, but Birthday Miku is very very good, the Licorice Recoil girls have strange shoulders but are otherwise normal, Ballsack has lumpy eyes and oddly light plastic... then Miku 23... is just dog shit.

It'll likely be available again as people cancel or closer to the release date (or after), but ordering from Amazon jp only really makes sense if you're buying a number of items, given the shipping costs and upfront customs. So if you have other things you would have ordered at the same time, you likely won't be able to combine them.

That's right, unfortunately.

The good thing about ordering from Amazon, like you were saying, is that they handle the customs charges ahead of time (that you of course pay for), so it ships fast and straight to your door with no fuss along the way. They'll even refund you if the package doesn't end up getting hit by customs.

yeah thats what i'm looking for. but it makes more sense for orders over 150โ‚ฌ (shipping included). if it's over that i have to fill out an industrial import form, it's retardedly complicated and long. god knows why they make us use that form, it's literally for importing industrial shipping containers or barrels. gubbermint cannot fathom retail consumers purchasing things that cost more than 150โ‚ฌ from a foreign country, these fuckers
anyway i placed my order with HLJ, can always cancel and it's quite a bit less than 150.

I use an unholy mix of mark setter first then microsol if needed (all after gloss coat of course). Mark softer is quite weak, and i have found it insufficient to get (hasegawa) decals to lay flat on curved surfaces. Instead i use microsol, which has more kick to get the decals flat. It doesnโ€™t look great when wet, as the decal soaks it and can expand, but it does dry perfectly adhered to the surface by the end. Conversely mark setter is great because it has a little glue in there to help decals adhere better. I have had decals peel up on me multiple times using microset. Good old Mr Color Super Clear III UV Cut through the airbrush rounds it all out nicely, though testors dullcoate also works, just be sure to mix well to avoid little matting chunks.

This happened to me back when the MG Gouf 2.0 was released, in the end they had to send me another one as it was clear someone stole it.

I still have no fucking idea how those bikini tops are supposed to work. The way those straps are designed COULD be functional if they actually had any breasts to really loop around under, but with tits that small they have nothing to really grip onto from that angle.

Just get a hobby brush like tamiyaโ€™s or dspiae and give things a dusting right before you coat. I have cats and this has worked quite well as long as i donโ€™t drop the piece. You can also use your airbrush to blast things off if you see any stragglers. Lint free wipes like camera cleaning wipes also help when you need to clean out your airbrush. typical kitchen towels and other wipes constantly shed fibers

Not like the scalpers will let you in the first place.

It's not like Bandai wants me too, either. With the million-accessory-pack sales model they're using they really need to spin up domestic availability in other countries so I can walk into a store or at least have UPS drop off a few bits and bobs I just decided I wanted without pre-ordering. Too bad Bandai is taking no action to do that. I can't see myself bothering with the Sisters unless I moved to Japan.

Even in japan scalpers have become a problem, hobbyists had to take matters in their own hands to fuck with them however, they used social media to hype up an HG kit (forgot which) that was just an old shitty mold with a few new bits, scalpers bought them in bulk and found themselves with mountains of unsellable crap

Gods above, she's one hell of a desirable kit, but in reality, I only want her hair, faceplates, and chestplate if I can't afford her as a full set. Where the hell can I find that? I can buy a base body elsewhere for my cute chubby failed witch made out of her, but damn, she's jacked in price to hellโ€ฆ
