==ARTILLERY GROUPBUILD==
Build a mecha or vehicle that uses long-range heavy-weapons such as Cannons, Missiles/Rockets, Railguns, or any other type of siege weaponry. Some clarifying rules
>The weapon can either be placed anywhere on the build (Shoulder-mounted, under-slung, etc), or in a separate side-build (Such as an artillery system utilized by a larger mech).
>Side-builds can include things like howitzers, self-propelled artillery, missile platforms, and the like.
>Alternatively, the mech can act as a spotter, loader, or some other role to support Artillery fire.
>Despite technically being a long-range weapon, Sniper Rifles are a no-go.
Send your entries to gunplaplamo@gmail.com with at least 5 photos of your finished build along with any WIP photos and a description of your entry.

Made a very inadvisable impulse purchase from USAGS yesterday during their Juneteenth sale, 20% off the RG Akatsuki isn't as good as 30% off stacked with a 10% discount from previous purchase (I couldn't use the 10% off anyway because they somehow thought it was expired despite me being within the cutoff window), but $18 for a RG GP01 is a good deal any way you cut it.
Delpi's website also sells aftermarket joints for RG Strike-type kits, I'm kind of tempted to get two since I have a RG Aile Strike + Skygrasper with the third-party Perfect Strike conversion kit, even if I plan to only ever display that RG Perfect Strike on an action base. I'm already going to be buying a shitload of waterslides as it is, so this only adds like a drop in the bucket. After that, wait for the P-Bandai Shiranui kit, and the Chinese third-party Zeus Silhouette bootleg.

>>11463286Part 2 of 5 of purchasing waterslides for my kits. The description for the Akatsuki hip joints replacement says that it comes with two sets so I should only have to buy it once to have enough to modify both the Akatsuki and Strike, and if not then I'll buy another one next time.
The "rough" part with these first two purchases was prioritizing the low-stock stuff, and hoping/praying that the waterslides on my wishlist don't go out of stock while waiting for out-of-stock ones to come in stock. I'm pretty sure that their "e-mail me when this is back in stock" notification functionality seems to be broken or not working, since two previously out-of-stock waterslides were in stock when I manually checked today and I never got an e-mail about them.
I'm sure I'll repeat this whole song and dance in a month or so, while I wait for them to reprint shit like MG Crossbone Full Cloth and RE/100 Nightingale. But for now, everything on my wishlist that's in stock has a decent amount of inventory, so odds are low that they'll get bought out within that time. There isn't going to be just one MG Tallgeese Flugel waterslide left when I look and I happen to buy the very last one.

>>11464721That's just a recast of the 2.0 RG
>>11464278I still don't understand why the GoldyMarg is an RG and the Choryujin is a HG. The GoldMarg is not complex in the slightest, is it just because it combines with the RG GaoGaiGar that they had to put it in the same line??
>>11464824There's that and maybe the fact that it transforms without too much partsforming. With Choryujin you have to take both apart almost completely before putting them together
>>11464788yeah but it looks pretty good and does not seem to have any issues from the reviews that are coming out of it
Hoo fucking boy, there goes another chunk of my bank account. Well, sooner than I expected, is what I should say, since I'm going to be bulk buying from Delpi at least another two times. It's just a matter of hoping that they reprint a few of the waterslides I need that are currently out of stock, before the sale goes live.
So today i learned, they don't make any waterslides for build series, so if you want to make one look cool, youre either fucked or have to buy generic waterslides + some generic waterslides for emblems.
I did find a pretty good knight waterslide set though, with chess pieces, and crosses, so i might put them on this guy whos been rotting in the backlog for 7 years.
Just finished my RG gramps 2.0 and posing it feels.. off. I'm having a really hard time getting both feet to rest solidly on flat surfaces. It's like one leg is ever so slightly shorter than the other, or the articulation just doesn't want to stay in place when I try and put it in a standing pose.
Anyone else having a similar issue, am I just bad at posing it, is there a building mistake causing this I may have overlooked?
I bought a huge set of sanding sticks with many grades and I wanted to know what grits you would mainly recommend.
Made myself a custom desktop drill press out of a beefier version of my micro drill. Not a Proxxon obviously, but will do nicely for most modelling needs.
>>11466176I should make myself one of these some day, the one I've been using is an industrial grade hulky piece of shit that's like 30 years old, weighs at least a hundred pounds, and is the size of a garbage bin. Way too overkill for modeling purposes, but like so much of my modeling hardware I obtained it basically for free from my retired dad who's an engineer with access to all sorts of machinery like this.

Anyone know of any squeeze to open nippers? Figure it'd be cheaper to buy one of those than a godhand or whatever.
Finished my first ever RG, Gaogaigar not long ago. Do all RGs use this dumb articulated polycap hand gimmick? Because they keep popping off at the slightest provocation along with the ABS back of the hand armour part.
Is there a wiki or encyclopedia for the Wataru mechs?
I used to be able to find one a while ago but google search is trash now and only returns amazon and yahoo results.
I'm looking for this, IIRC, Ryujinmaru with tank treads and normal military gear. I think it had a combat knife and a submachinegun.
>>11469485They did on early ones but most of the new ones have fixed hand poses
>>11469171Normally closed ones? Dunno if they exist but probably a bad idea since 2 metallic surfaces touching each other encourages corrosion. That's one of the reasons normally closed tweezers use stainless steel .
11463191
I would go for the MkII, honestly. Charโs Zaku is cute and it does lots of neat things but it is severely limited I. The articulation department. The MkII is just an incredibly solid kit all around.
I admittedly donโt own the ZโGok
>>11469171>squeeze to open nippersSo you apply force to open them and then some kind of spring closes them? In other words you control the opening force, but not the closing/cutting force? In what universe is that a sound concept for a cutting tool?
I've been seeing alot of nipper discourse lately, and wanted to clear some stuff up
>do i need a godhand
No. I use rui tool because they are cheap and because i am rough on my tools.
>nub marks
Even god hands wont fully get rid of every nub. Sanding is the only way to fully get rid of nubs. You can also use a hobby knife for quick removal on flat surfaces.
Honestly, even as someone that paints my kits, i dont remove every nub perfectly. I do have the skills to remove every nub, but focus my efforts on what will be visible. Alot of parts can be fully finished with the 2 snip method.
Imo nub removal isn't even 1% of this hobby. Its a day 1 skill, but i'd much rather people talk about painting.
>>11468819But theres no specific hg build sets. Unfortanate.
I want to get into rescribing panel lines before i get fully into scribing, can anyone drop a good video on scribing here?
>>11470259I forgot to add all single bladed nippers are the exact same, and the only difference is god hands are laser sharpened, so they are going to last longer.
Conceptually, single bladed nippers were designed to cut, instead of pinch. Thats why theres only one blade instead of 2.
I do think everyone should have single bladed nippers and amazon has many for under 20$.
>>11470268>all single bladed nippers are the exact sameThat's demonstrably untrue.
Blade geometry, blade sharpness vary pretty widely across brands, resulting in fairly obvious differences in cut quality.
>>11470259>>11470268how many kits have you built, anon? how many nippers have you used?
>>11470528They are not literally the same but they are mechanically the same. Some of those posted, are not single bladed nippers though.
The principle is one end holds the plastic in place, while the other cuts.
>>11470691I've been through 7 nippers. 2 off brand, one green one (i forget the brand but its a common 10$ nipper), 2 rui tool, and 2 god hand. Both god hands i broke, but they lasted me over a year, and i was rough with them.
I used to snap build alot, and re-entered this year with the idea i'd paint everything. I only painted a few kits before that.
Its wild theres no waterslides for this kit specifically
>>11470869Third-party waterslide companies usually only make waterslides for a kit if it makes sense. Build kits are for the most part HG kits that look flashy and cool, not scale reductions of military machines that would actually have labels and warnings like UC grunt suits.
>>11470917Ok but that forces you to use the "fire lord" stickers if you ever want a clean build. Theres no indentation of the kanji, so you're kinda fucked.
>>11471027Gotten alot better at your preshading man. Keep at it, try to get a consistent level with the symmetrical parts and youll be ace. Makes my straight builds look like shit. Good work bud.
>>11471114Do those white stickers come with the kit? Also, did you topcoat those?
>>11471124G rework decals, mr super clear matte grey can. I didnt really start painting kits until a little over a year or so, tried to master a good clean build without painting. Maybe doing a few touches of color correction here and there before that. Good to ask and soak up info from people that look like they know what theyre doing.
Currently doing a kinda preshade but with a metallic undercoat for gundams, trying to simulate a heat treated titanium look, not always the best turnout, but will look a bit worn at least. Need to get around to doing some builds here just had some bs to handle this month.
spent the last couple hours researching and looking over panel lining options. I think I'm just not going to bother. From what I've seen the simple thin marker ones look kinda shitty unless you have a steady artist's hand, and I don't wanna bother top coating everything to not potentially fuck my plastic with tamiya liner.
This is a barrier that will take some time to cross.
>>11471190you dont need a steady hand, because you can easily clean up mistakes
and pour type gundam markers are good and don't need topcoats at all, i've been using them a lot on bare plastic and had no problems
>>11471203Just don't use them on anything abs
>>11471190Panel lining is the easiest thing in this hobby, and it shouldnt take you more than an hour to panel line even a master grade.
Learn to use a paint brush. Your skill with the hobby will instantly skyrocket, and you will be at least above redditor level. You can use acryllic washes, acryllic paint, or use the tamiya panel liner but that destroys pieces, if you dont follow the proper steps.
I think its best if you start with nuln oil, and maybe buy some detail paints like citadel gold or silver, or whatever other color you think you'll.use.
Overall learning basic painting skills is an essential skill, and even something people like mecha gaikotsu do.
>>11471124Waterslides are an incredible way to make old kits look good, and new ones, crazy good. I wouldn't reccomend water slides until you know how to paint first though
>>11471114Those stripes are cursed, and i tried building the hg dom with spray cans a few years back, and i never could get the stripes to line up correctly. Gave up halfway through.
I was using the bandai decals though. I want to revisit the origin kits, when i'm not finishing this guncannon, or finishing some build fighter kits i bought this week.
If anyone is listening is worried about preshading, its crazy how much your skills can improve over 2 kits.
>>11471403>Waterslides are an incredible way to make old kits look good, and new ones, crazy goodNta but I've got a bunch of kits that need water slides I've been meaning to do, but haven't.
>>11471411Then this weekend is the perfect time to start, and get them painted. You could even start prep work tonight.
>>11471413Nah, working this weekend. I also do some painting, but it's mostly just color correction
>>11471366I tried to tell a streamer about that and he jumped my shit. Had to go get a marker and translate the warning label. I bot a half assed apology and gaslit about what he said, but it was more how he said it anyway.
>>11471407Bandai decals do suck, need some really warm water for them to be anywhere near usable. For an origin kit it really is best to gloss coat before decals, makes it easier to line everything up.
>>11471190Tamiya is actually less harsh than the pour markers, but can crack/break parts. Its ok to use on individual parts or the runner. When it gets into a seam of 2 parts it wont dry fast enough to not damage. The other markers are ok, easy to clean up. Tamkya and the pour types just make the task faster. Either way, as long as you get the liner dry fast enough you wont have trouble, but yes abs and pour types and even the color markers can cause cracks.
>>11471411Get to them when you can. The longer the backlog is on earth the stronger it becomes.
>>11471453>I tried to tell a streamer about that and he jumped my shit. Had to go get a marker and translate the warning label. I bot a half assed apology and gaslit about what he said, but it was more how he said it anywayStreamers and Internet personalities are almost all gigatier shitters that don't deserve the time of day
>>11471484You are not wrong there. I use to like the smaller viewer count streamers but noticed once they get a little popularity they tend to turn into ego driven shitheads. Turns very cliquey and inevitably they find someone to pick on. Not always the case, but is a pattern there. If I stream again I will disable monetization, just do good solid clean work and share useful tips and give somewhat a tutorial on salt/hairspray chipping, blending colors, magnet mods and techniques hardly used or shown off with gunpla. No ego, just good informative work.
That's why I like it here, its not about me, its about the gunpla.
Any suggestions for a good quality scribe tool set? I wanted to buy the Gunprimer Grida, but literally no one has it in stock, and I'm not willing to pay 100 USD for a set of 3 scribe tools from Ray Modeling studios or whatever.
>>11471403alright, you convinced me. I picked up some nuln oil and some tiny swabs. I have some tiny brushing lying around from when I was dabbling in assembling 40k minis. I might get back into that too, but the tiny details are extremely tiring to my eyes.
>>11471579Another option is real touch markers. Hit those on the panel lines, mottle around the legs and wherever, then go over it with a melamone sponge to clean it up and blend it in. Real touch are water based so should not have any problems. Get panel lining plus weathering and a ok matte finish if you dont want to topcoat.

I like g rework the best. I get them from newtype, but i think theres cheaper ways to get them.
The hg zaku i is a cursed kit, and theres so many better cheaper kits that dont have seam removal issues (including the origin hg zaku i.) I am begging you, to choose any other kit

>>11471407No i got the goufs from newtype and they are from g rework, and now he lives at my hobbytown
I used micro sol and microset, and there was a learning curve.
>>11471782What impressed me with the decals you used is I canโt see any sort of sheen or leveling difference which is why I didnโt think they were bandai. my biggest issue with decals is even if you hit it with a matte or a gloss sometimes it isnโt enough for it to look uniform.
Also the thickness of the decal looking out of place, yours from that image doesnt have any of that.
Iโve looked at some videos of the hguc zaku 1 and it looks like a decent kit to me for the 15.00 it costs, I already ordered them and theyโre in the mail. The seam lines are kind of an issue but I was thinking with some sanding and some paintwork and a matte coat they wouldnโt be too visible. On a shelf I donโt think I would notice them.
The origin zaku excited name at first but it has a bunch of things going on I donโt like. I really dislike the origin zaku 1 having that weird out of place looking abdominal plate right above the waist. I considered maybe doing a kitbash combining the zaku 1 origin parts I like with the hguc zaku 1 but idk how plug and play that is since Iโve never combined kits before.
Back in the day I made some old hguc kits like the gelgoog cannon, GM cold district, that spcace GM, and I thought they were serviceable. If the hguc zaku 1 is of comparable quality I think it will look good painted. is it the build of the kit or the look that you donโt like?

Jk I understand what you mean now. I have never put decals on a kit before so this is all new to me. I have built 20 or so kits and have pained a bunch over the years but for whatever reason never dipped my toes into decals so itโs a weak point in my skill set. Iโll see if they have any on eBay before I make an account or sign up on another website. I donโt really need any decals right now but Iโd like to have em to make a numbered squad of zakus at some point. Iโm wanting to make some stuff thatโs sort of reminiscent of the sort of units you would find in the ps2 game zeonic front.
>>11471909I looked up the g rework zaku i, and this is the kit that came up. I dont think they'd have the old zaku i, but this works well, either way, but id still tell you to buy the new one

Is the "Don't paint on ABS" warning just them legally covering their ass from retards or are the parts gonna break if I use my Mr Surfacer spray can on them?
>>11472117The enamel markers will attack the plastic, lacquer is less of a problem but if you flood the parts you can have the same problem
>>11472117Nah abs is meant to be light weight, so think of it this way sugar cube vs spun sugar/cotton candy. The abs is more pourus and allows solvents to get in and break the bonds. Now does that mean one touch and it dissolves like xenomorph blood, no, but the longer it takes for the solvent to evaporate the more chance of damage to the abs. Same for polystyrene and all the other plastics, but because they are more denser they take the solvents a little better. Hope that made sense.
I'm going to dull coat him tommorow.
>>11472071I found something called Microsoft they have something called XP is this any good?
Just messing around. Iโm not to interested in a lot of the accent lines just mainly some good zeon looking unit number decals and the simple zeon symbols nothing too fancy.
There are elements of the origin zaku I really like but as I said they changed it too much for me to want to build and display it the way it is. A good example is the thighs, they have way too much panel lining than I think a simple zaku should really have or need. I also canโt tell if the old style head has better proportions than the new one. Areas like the arms on the new kit are pretty good though. The main issue I have with it is just the chest and stomach which I donโt like the look of. Iโm not telling you objectively that the new one is worse. Just that to me I want something that matches the way the zaku 1 was portrayed in the older games. To me the origin zaku looks more like a zaku 1 variant than an actual zaku 1. It looks like that one has less seem lines which is nice. I may buy 1 to experiment with. Maybe something like
Origin head
Old chest and waist
Origin arms
Old style thighs
Origin feet and shins
no harm in seeing how it looks.
>>11472167If i build a second zaku i, i want to do a fully decaled lime one, from build fighters try.
If you dont like the zaku i origins look, theres pretty much no way to fix that, unless you break out saw and pla plate.
The main seam differences are on the legs. The origin zaku i has no leg seams, while the hg has 2. No matter what you chose, you still have to seam weld the forearms and the shoulder pad. The pad isnt that bad, but the forearm takes alot of skill.
>tfw just scribed 48 feet (about 15 meters) of panel lines
Wasn't fun.
I forgot how shitty Dymo tape was (or maybe it became shitty in the years since I used it last?). It's thin, soft and it leaves black residue of glue and bits of tape when you peel it. It belongs in the fucking trash.
Also my cheap chinese chisel (Dspiae) is going to need replacing after all that scribing.
Guys if I got offered a MG Perfect Zeong for $200 american should I take it?
>>11470528What about a nail clipper hack, with one of its blade filed flat so it become a single blade cutter?
>>11472262That they offered to buy from you, or to sell to you at that price? Because if it's the latter, don't bother unless you really really like the Perfect Zeong.
Not only is it a pre-2005 MG, it's also a literal brick in that it has next to zero limb motion range. Even the arms are worse than the original MG since they strapped extra armor to the bicep area which reduces it to less than 90 degree elbow bending (and frankly, if an MG kit can only bend its elbows 90 degrees to begin with, it's already a failure). About the only thing it has going for it is its sheer size, it's bigger than most PG Gundams and takes up about as much space as the MG Ex-S but without looking anywhere near as complex.
Well fuck, I thought I had more primer left. Gonna have to put metagross on the backburner until I get more in.

Why do I constantly hear about single blade cutters breaking? Are people spastics or are they really fragile as fuck? I wanted to grab these on sale at my local shop, I have only ever used $12 junk cutters for the past 25 years.
>>11475631yes, people are spastics and cut towards the end of the blade instead of close to the hinge. that being said, you still want to use your rougher nippers for removing pieces from the runner to begin with.
>>11475631People don't treat things with care. If you drop singe bladed nippers onto a hard surface you can break them. Or they cut thick nubs/sprues with the tip of the blade and wonder why it broke. I've been using GodHand SPN120s for everything for like ten years now with zero issues.
>>11475744The clear kits will fuck up godhands after a little bit. Ive watched someone build a whole clear mg kit with their 120s and made it through, but next kit they broke.kek
>>11475711Just do not cut at the very base of the hinge. Key is not to slam them closed. Nice gradual pressure, push with the side with the blade not the dull side. But we both know that some people just wont listen and do what they want.
>>11475631>Why do I constantly hear about single blade cutters breakingBecause people who do NOT break their nippers keep quiet about it? For every case of breakage there are 100s if not 1000s of cases of non-breakage that are simply not reported.

do mr. surfacer numbers correlate with sandpaper grit? that's always been my understanding but i now think that might not be the case
usually i do 240 grit -> 600 grit -> surfacer 1000 -> finishing 1500
>>11477787Mr Primer Surfacer 1000 covers scratches from 400 grit or even 240 grit just fine, you're wasting your time sanding 600 grit.
>>11477789what about for removing excess 1000 before the 1500
>>11477787>usually i do 240 grit -> 600 grit -> surfacer 1000 -> finishing 1500Do you usually paint large 3D printed nude figures? Because that looks almost exactly like my workflow for Rei (except I started at 180 grit).
240 grit is way too rough for plastic and Surfacer 1000 will fill/soften surface detail, so you want to avoid it unless you are dealing with large smooth _heavily_scratched surfaces. For 99.9% of plastic kits Surfacer 1500 is all you need.
If you do end up using Surfacer 1000, you spray a good coat, then you sand it down smooth. At that point you probably have patches of bare material, so you spray a thin coat of Surfacer 1500 to cover the bare patches. If you don't have any bare patches after sanding, you have no reason to spray any other Surfacer.
>>11463529Slick gouf. HAIL ZEON
>>11472912First kit looks good dude, got the standard nubbies but that is okay. the stickers are cool, enjoy it and use tweezers
>>11477787>do mr. surfacer numbers correlate with sandpaper gritIf you scratch some abrasive particles off 1000 grit sandpaper and fish some filler particles out of mr surfacer 1000 and put them under a microscope, the particles will look about the same size. That's as far as "correlation" goes.
If you spray mr surfacer 1000 on some plastic, when it dries it won't be as rough as 1000 grit sandpaper, it will be smoother.

>>11479532I dump the jar into a bottle. Then pour thinner into the jar and give it a good shake, dump that into the bottle and then about half into the jar to wash it out completely, then add that to the bottle. So about 1 to 1.5, maybe 1 to 2 if the jar wont come clean.
>>11479619Ok i added 500 2:1 ratio, and it stopped working, so i guess i'll try 1:1
Local store only has 500
>>11479635For 500, iโd recommend more thinner than paint, maybe 70% or more. Just keep adjusting while mixing thoroughly until it sprays without sputtering (too thick) and without spiderwebbing (too thin), if that makes sense. All surfacers i have tried use more thinner than paint, and iโm spraying 1000+, so 500 will definitely need a bit more.
>>11479635>>11479669Just so you know Mr Surfacer 500 is not designed to be sprayed as per Creos documentation. It is a liquid putty.
>>11479556Did you notice a ring of sheet metal attached to the top of the head inside the body. Magnet slides along it.

>>11479806Right, but anon has what he has, which is 500. I use it as a gap filler myself and spray 1000+. I have talked to people who are involved in mr hobby about this exact question. There is no real formulation difference between the surfacer grades, just the amount of goopyness. He used that exact term. Sometimes they sell with โdissolved puttyโ on the label, sometimes they donโt. I donโt know which anon has, but it shouldnโt matter much. If you add more thinner, you should be able to make it work in the unfortunate case of not having access to 1000+
>>11479959>you should be able to make it workDefine work.
You could probably make it sprayable, and it will clog the airbrush like crazy (thanks to larger filler particle and extra gluieness), but I don't know why you would want a coat of putty on your model? In most cases you want the primer to be as fine as possible so it doesn't mess with surface detail, even Surfacer 1000 is not what you want in most situations, why would you possibly want 500?

Please help a shitter out:
I currently have a MG ZZ Ver. Ka, and am planning to buy the upcoming reprint of the MG FAZZ and eventually the P-Bandai Enhanced ZZ expansion kit (if it ever shows up on the US webstore), to build this big beautiful motherfucker. Problem is, I also want to properly do the decals so that instead of Pegasus III and FA-010A markings, it has the proper Nahel Argama and FA-010S markings; and there is apparently no such thing as custom waterslides for the Full Armor ZZ (or at least none that I can find, the Daban color-molded version still has the original FAZZ markings). Additionally, as a bonus, I also have the MG Zeta Ver. Ka and MG Hyaku-Shiki 2.0, and will eventually order the MG Mk-II 2.0, all of which I also want to properly decal to match; the Zeta has Argama markings, and some of the various AEUG markings use the "Government" version of the acronym.
Since it seems that my only option is to somehow do it all myself, and a lot of the decals are going to be in white and gray, is there a service out there to order and print custom waterslides? I'm certain that I'm not the only person who has thought to do something like this, so surely there must be a way.
>>11482861We don't know you, and if you are actually a Snap"shitter", the mg fazz ver ka decals with a kitbash, should be the last place to start.
Theres tons of g rework decals for high grades. You should start with atleast one of those. I think you should learn to paint first desu, and follow zaku aurelius's beginner series.
Theres like 10 decals companies. Most popular kits eventually get decals, and if they don't theres plenty of generic decals.
Currently i'm reading both of ghosts' books, so i reccomend g rework for generic decals. They work fantastic, no matter what you do to them
How do I best paint shit like this?
It's the leg/thruster of a Dra-C. Basically a clamshell with a grey thruster part in the middle. Can't remove the thruster once it's snapped together. I would really like to weld the seam and paint over the seam but I also don't want to prime or paint over the grey part.
Do I just try to mask it? Prime over it and try to paint really carefully? If I cut the thrusters pegs I could slide it in and out and just glue it in afterwardsโฆ
But this seems like a really common problem, so I think I may be overthinking itโฆ
>>11483528Id paint the gray part first, then apply liquid masking to the exposed areas. Then place it in that part and seal the seams. Paint and pull masking. Tape would work too but the liquid is probably a little easier to remove in that situation.
>>11483818Well I don't have that stuff, so it would have to be tape.
This thing also has a real shitty shape for masking. It's all ridges and bumps. I guess I could build like a tape tent over it allโฆ
Also same question about the head and arm. Though given that parts like this appears in every HG I assume the answer here is pretty cut and dried? Just mask them?
>>11483883>I don't have that stuffLiquid masking is not expensive or difficult to find and it will be VERY useful.
>>11483927Yeah, but there's no physical stores selling hobby stuff anywhere near me and shipping single items costs quite a bitโฆ
I'll think about it though. Any brand you would recommend?
>>11483883it looks like there's enough surface area for glue to stick to that you could just cut the pegs off the thruster part and then put some glue on the purple part where the thruster part touches it then slide the thruster in

Hello anons, I picked up a Saint Armor Oracle recently. Does anyone have any experience with this kit? If not, any thoughts you have on it?
Also, how much do you guys hate snapshitters? I'm kind of ashamed of never having done any customization at all... besides maybe a bit of panel lining.

I mean, to me the biggest part of this hobby is building first with customising/kitbashing/color correction being a "if you want to" thing rather than mandatory.
Hell I've been building for years and this Metagross was my first attempt at a full paint job and I've been posting my non painted kits and progress for a while.
>>11484377>how much do you guys hate snapshittersHate is not the opposite of love, the opposite of love is not caring. Most of us don't care much about people who snap together their kits and call it a day.
So you can post your work as much as you like, you're just not going to get a lot of attention for it.

Haven't shopped at Mandarake in a while, so when I went to grab another Zeon crustacean for the next time I get a gunpla craving, I also got a couple of Koto kits.
I was always curious about the Grande FAGs, so here's one. I expected the literal 200% resize of the FAG runners, but it looks like they did add some extra detail: the hair appears to be more detailed, the face plates have some extra detail compared to the regular FAG (although I'm not sure why they went with the yellow for the smiling face's lips, gonna have to fix that), the bare feet have toenals, not sure about the fingernails for the hands though, it's hard to tell through the bag.
So I guess next will be Venti (1/3?) and Trenta (1/1?). Sure look forward to seeing that.
