I like the Black Falcons. They were my favorite of the Castle teams as a kid until the Dragon Masters, and I always out them in the "hero" role when playing.

I built a Castle for my Black Falcons, but I fear its much too small for the army now that the Siege Encampment brings so many more to the table.

When I finish rebuilding my Castle World MOCs the cat broke, I can finish my video series on those and start on this Siege set. I think I can make a fun story about them attacking the Lion Crusaders because the prince is marrying a black woman. The Black Falcons are very racist and only abide Yellows, no Fleshies allowed.

I'm not super pleased with how gappy the top edge of it is, but connecting the clip arm to a clip plate didn't work since it juts out too far so I needed to put it on a brick with a sidestud.

Gunmetal would have been ideal, but I build with what I have, and I don't have any. Maybe after I actually build it in full I can see if I can bricklink gunmetal replacements for the outer shell plates/slopes.
Also, if I do it in dark bley, I can make a Pegasus gate to the same design in light bley (or order silver pieces). I found the perfect piece to use for the digital symbols on that too.

Just got my full racing grid of the mini f1 cars, and was wondering how would yo go about building a track for them? Typical F1 tracks dont really translate well into lego at that scale, like hairpins are easy enough but Chicanes Chevrons and pit stops all are harder, I figured tire walls work well enough for turns/bends and chicanes but anyone got some ideas on how to to vary it a bit?

I only ever got 2 of him. One I kept whole, the other I took apart to mix and match parts. I wanted him for his figure more than the goat itself. As seen here, I got an extra 5-pack of goats for $4 from AliExpress. But my other character I made that uses his face is my favorite Pirate character now. I pretend in my head they are ancestors.

I am mad though a bunch of cunts went around ripping open packs when that figure was in the mix. It made finding one impossible AND ruined the other figures for purchase. But I was glad I managed to get him.

It doesn't really matter to me, some bootleg figs look pretty good, and companies like Citizen Brick make some great quality stuff despite the price. When it comes to MOCs and using bootlegos it just seems sort of redundant to me because, thanks to pick-a-brick and bricklink you really kind of have everything you need. It boils down to if you're willing to accept a lower quality for a lower price, and that's just not acceptable to some people.

Plus there’s the brittle “insert color here” issues.

Add in the constantly increase in prices on Lego these days and you’re really not getting a better product. You’re just paying more for a product that’s familiar and since everyone still pays pays pays there’s no incentive to fix any decreased quality or customer satisfaction. In their eyes nothing is broken. Charge more for less? That’s the game.

This and price are why I use Bootlego. As time has gone by, Lego's quality has fallen while third party bricks have steadily gotten better. Now we're at a point where competition has elevated those third parties and complacency has weakened Lego. Now they meet very close in the middle.

While many knockoff brands are a poor quality, a good number are now just as good if not better than Lego. However, those good third party are generally still priced higher.

That said, the Block Tech bricks at Fove Below are super solid and seem hust as quality as Funwhole

True. Many MOC builders are now working with third party brick companies and actually being compensated for their sets. I bought a MOC made by BricksFanUY from a company named LesDIY and they actually pay a small commission for each set sold. Still reasonably priced too, the set would have cost nearly double if it had been official Lego. However, the windows pieces didn't have the slots for the windows inserts and the trap door frame piece didn't fit the trap hinge so I still had to reorder those pieces. Still cost me waaaay less, but that put a damper on an otherwise great alternative

Bootlego sets also have really useful pieces. Mega has a double sided 1x2 piece, flexible tubing, sloped pieces with studs, and a host of unique colors as well as a bunch of realistic street lights, rearview mirrors, and plants. I had avoided Mega for a while because their sets were so poorly made, but around 2018 their bricks started having higher tensions than Lego. I bought a bunch of their "Inventions" packs in late 2018/early 2019 on post-Christmas clearance for those pieces and colors, and I've used them regularly. I hope the Mattel Brick Shop thing releases packs of loose pieces again; I'd buy them.
