nostaliga, people that grew up watching the bay trilogy are adults now and to them Bayformers IS Transformers, and lets face it, both RoTB and TF:One flopped so they just going back to whats works with that nostaliga bonus, after all this whole brand is built on it.

As for the actual movie, probably will be another Bayformers, he might do something interesting with it or just go on pull autopilot, I hope it's the former because he has done some cool movies in between TLK and now, but either way if it does well then we'll see a lot of toy sales which is a boon for Hasbro, if not eh they'll shelv the IP for movies for like 5 years, the toys will still come legacy and SS86 does well enough, plus we got the Skybound comics which are awesome.

the brand was doing fine before bayformers, bayformers just propelled it even higher, anyone dooming that TF is dead in the water is an actual toddler who hasn't actually experienced when it was dead in the water in the US, ie end of G1
