I mean, surely if someone decided to drop a life-changing amount of money, you would sell, right?

I cant think of any toy i wouldnt sell other than a childhood plushie that's long discontinued

Yeah, you're really shooting your own thread in the foot here with "any amount of money". If someone offers me a million dollars, they can take whatever they want from my collection and I'll just rebuy it. More realistically, even several times the current value would get me to sell just about any figure, rebuy it, and pocket the profit. Only exceptions I could see some people having is irreplaceable stuff like customs or older toys that have sentimental value because they're from a deceased family member or something.

Plus you could just buy another one with the money you get unless it's some truly one of a kind thing

Generally I think customs will fall under that category for many people. There are one-of-a-kind figures out there that represent someone's ideal look of a character that will probably never be made. People have contacted me trying to find out who bought custom X so they can try to offer that person money for it, only to find that person won't part with the figure for 4x the price they won it form

Can't imagine anyone would want those ugly sluts regardless, but Capcucks have notoriously low standards.

I'd sell literally all my toys for 100k, nevermind more than that. Even the toys from my childhood (Mummies Alive, TAS Spider-Man, etc.) don't hold enough sentimental value for me to outright refuse such an offer

Yea monetary value kinda ruins the intent of getting the actual answers OP is trying to get.

Here's perhaps a better variation: What's the one toy you'd save from a house fire in your collection? Assume you won't be buying any more toys after the fire so the resale value doesn't matter, you won't be trading the one figure for a bunch of other ones as a "cheat". The one you saved is one you'll keep forever.

Is more autism being autism, which is something to be expected considering we're in 4chan. The spirit of the thread is pretty clear, the question is "what toy for you has a sentimental value far greater than monetary value?". Ignoring specific reasons (because out of production, because dead relative, because waifu-ism, etc), anon just wanted to show how much he values his waifu toys. Whether that's worth of a thread or not is a whole different discussion (we get, OP, you have good taste in waifu), it does set an interesting discussion. I was half expecting someone showing some vintage toy they for literal years, but looks like I was aiming too high.

As for me, when I finished the school, I got some money which I spend in pic related. I don't have her at hand, but is one of the first figures I picked when I moved with my wife and probably will be the last thing I sell if I ever need money. Not only because isn't worth that much, but because is a graduation gift.

Anyway, this thread remind me the fire threads. "If I fire breaks in your home, what toy would you save first?"

"Uh, I'm so smart I'm saving my life and my dear ones first, toys are mere plastic".

OP should have simply asked, "What figure is most important to you?" and he would've gotten a bunch of better answers. Because the thing is, there ARE material objects people are unwilling to sell for significantly more money than they're worth or would risk grabbing during a house fire. Easily replaceable toys just aren't in that category for most.

Anyway, for me it's probably this Griffith. He's one of my favorite anime characters(he did nothing wrong)and was my first figma 13 years back now. He was also one of my first imports in general other than some Kingdom Hearts Play Arts figures I picked up from my local comic shop back when I was in my early teens and not so much collecting as still playing with toys.
