>>11479348>If it aint ewte it aint ryteInstead of feeding immigrants to gators how about we go back to feeding you shitstains to lions?
>>11479377Instead of needing China to make everything why can't Americans bring back slavery and force immigrants to make the toys in shit holes like Boston?
>>11479348It's cringe alright. Honestly they would fare far better just hiring a guy cosplaying as Cobra Commander, full helmet and all, advertising their shit.
>>11479384Hopefully with people getting let go across all industries the big dogs make the right decision and start to hire people who give a shit
Well well
Hiya definitely upped their game.
Unlike the first releases the hands finally able to stay on the wrist pegs without them constantly falling off. And the figure overall felt a lot smoothe than Cobra commander
I really have to say after getting a few 6 inches figures, I still prefer the old 3.75.
I can't wait for the troopers
Much happier with the retro Viper after replacing the hands and gauntlets.
>>11479337 (OP)These are the same people who mocked everyone who couldnโt get a cobra trooper at Target right

>>11479343As an offering I think it's impressive especially at the same price as the HISS, given all the economic upsets we've had over the last few years. I'm still not 100% sure I'll back it, but I've got a month to decide whether or not to. It could all come down to vibes. I live in Connecticut and it kind of sucks that I have no way of knowing if winter 2026 will be a good year for snow or not because that thing and the figures beg to be photographed in real snow (Farmer's Almanac says 2025 is going to be dry and lame).
Even though snow toys have generally not been my thing, I did buy Snowjob and the non-retro Snow Viper when I had the chance, so maybe if they make an arctic Snake Eyes and Snow BAT then the Snow Cat would be a good excuse to build out my arctic warfare collection. I could see myself buying some softgoods winter coats for some of my characters, too.

>>11479654They made an Arctic BAT years ago, but they were kind of hard to get. I think they're supposed to be doing a re-release of it sometime.
>>11479654Totally get why people aren't crazy about it, but I love it, first Haslab I'm backing. Hopefully we'll get some more arctic reveals at SDCC.
>>11479348>>11479384>>11479387Who are those people? Link to video?
>>11479849https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aISwXR_KrZM
Same people that have done every livestream reveal for years, where have you been?
>>11479859Apologies, I don't personally collect GI Joe, I thought that was perhaps a famous wrestler or actor.
>>11479379 Because Yankees don't keep slaves.
Boston bankers build factories.
also Johnny Reb can go fuck himself after he finishes fucking his grandma.
>>11479415 April is great.. although I dunno about her alt sex doll head.
>>11479679 It's great and the amount of shit for setting up a camp is nice.
I'm all about the "extras" and wish Star Wars and other figs also just had cheap sets with crates etc.
Sure they are available through 3rd parties but it would be nice to see that support.
>>11479415and they wont put this out in america because...?
>>11479415Damn, that facepaint is rough. He's walleyed as fuck. I'm assuming (hoping) the goggles are functional, because I couldn't live with that.
I'd still consider getting some, because they otherwise look alright, if there were a way to actually get them without the headache. Maybe I'll have to check some of my LCSs, since they sometimes get some of the more oddball stuff like this.
>>11480127>Yankees don't keep slavesno, they just paid the italians and irish 5 cents on the dollar
not unlike what most slave owners were doing during the decade before the civil war...
>>11479379Ethics aside it's because building the infrastructure to manufacture on the same level as China would offset the costs against any savings in labor for the next two decades, minimum, and lets face it: If anyone at all in power was concerned about any frame of time longer than the next election cycle there's a shitzillion issues they'd actually consider fixing before us buying toys from China.
>>11479557I found it odd you preferred the old Viper. I find the new one an improvement. The old stripper boots are odd, and they always seemed too skinny. The muted colors do look cooler, though.
>>11480303NTA but I like them all about equally
and slight color changes allow me to army build without any internal autistic nagging, same with swappable heads on BATs and shit like that
>>11480303You know they make a cream for cats with dry and cracked paws anon, they get used to it but it's more comfortable for the animal if they're not
>>11480319I wouldn't say there's anything to worry about unless it's a purely inside cat
>>11480303It just feels like a more cohesive design. Functionally the new one is better (except for the lack of horizontal hinge on the support grip), but the lack of color breakup on the gauntlets and helmet, plus the shitty rifles really irritated me. If they go on sale, I may pick up another and do the same swaps.
>>11480328Maybe
Not a lot of people know there's a cream though so I though I'd bring it up
>>11480319>>11480328He's 100% inside cat, but his paws seem fine to me. I'll mention it in his next vet checkup.
>>11480303>>11480330>>11480339I want them to make a female viper so badly.
>>11480417Nice, this makes me want six Range Vipers
>>11480449I'm satisfied with the one and the Fire Team variant, I have that one with my Hiss Tank, but they're killer figures. I'll be interested to see what they do for a potential retro card one, since the current one is super similar and the shade of blue is only slightly darker.
But then again the figure got scalped to fuck instantly so they could just release the same figure again and most people wouldn't complain.
>>11480176Yeah
Unfortunately they screwed up the eyes so firefly now has backstory of being a inbred
Consider everything else I can over look this flaws
Though I have add while the backpack stays but it does move around so do use a sticky tack
>>11480519so you're saying it's another Hiya figure that's generally worse than the Classified analogue and also came out 3 years after the original
Does anyone make dioramas?
I'm in the middle of making a Cobra checkpoint. Based on a Far Cry checkpoint. I need to texture and then do three levels of paint before I start to do details. I'm going to fill the gaps and give it a Soviet era concrete texture. I have a LED kit to add lights, but I want to add a weapon rack and Cobra recruitment posters.
Any ideas for small details?
however they're shipping the rattler, it seems like a clusterfuck
apparently all the late buyers are being prioritized, there's multiple reports of people who bought more than one rattler at different times during the campaign, and the latest order is the one that shipped
there's people within a city/general region who are getting theirs but people 15 minutes away aren't
I don't know much about shipping and logistics, but it seems like they're shipping them out individually or something rather than in bulk
oh and people on the hiss tank forum have mentioned talking to hasbro customer service and they were completely unaware the rattlers had even begun to ship, as of now there's still no official announcement that they're being sent out
If I hadn't bought one of these fucking things on day one I'd be able to laugh about it
>>11480813also
people are getting theirs without any shipping updates from hasbro pulse
and there were people who got theirs delivered the day hasbro put up the unboxing video
>>11480211 Well fuck the wops.
and the Irish.
When does the cobra troop with the outpost shack that can be turned into a wall come out?
>>11480997The Trench Viper set? Its supposed to be September 1st according to the listing on Pulse.
>>11480997>>11481013It'll probably hit mid august, it's been listed for september 1st since they first put it up in like january and they've been on ebay for months already
>>11479337 (OP)They really do have a look of apathy about them.
>heres the new haslab.....i guess
>>11481019I'm sure it'll probably be anytime, because you're right, they've been on eBay for a while now. But they actually went up longer ago than that, because my PO says I ordered them in October last year. Usually, they've been getting all this shit super early. I don't know why it is taking this one so long.
>>11481022I think the Snow Cat was an economic decision.
All the Rattler marketing referenced a tank and I think the readouts on the inside of the cockpit show a mauler targeted with missiles or whatever
Then mysteriously this past month they started dropping a bunch of references to snow and coldness and shit like that, they probably scrapped a plan to do a 400 tank Haslab thinking people wouldn't be willing to drop that much money (even though I think people would)
but also I'm schizophrenic
>>11481027They must be having issues with certain larger sets the CLAW was first shown off like over a year ago, then dozens of figures were announced and fully released between then and when it finally went up for preorder
The night force beach head & quick kick 2 pack is in a similar spot
>>11481028Nah, that thing takes way more than a month to design. They've been planning to do the snow cat all along. I think they've realized they fucked up when they started seeing all the reactions online when they first started dropping hints though. Also major layoffs were going on at hasbro when they filmed that video. They probably were either sad someone they knew was let go, or worried they were next.
>>11481032Then they definitely shouldn't have made the Rattler being a "tank destroyer" such a huge part of the marketing campaign because that's what everyone was expecting for like 11 months
>>11481022>>11481032It's like you guys are insane or something. If you watch the video they're goofing around and laughing and shit throughout the whole thing.
>>11481033Genuinely think when they saw ramen toys making a tank they decided to pivot to try to get more sales with a different vehicle, feels like its the same reason we haven't seen a skyhawk despite it being a perfect small retail vehicle. They aren't stupid, they watch what other companies are making even if they don't like to admit it cuts into their market.
>>11479337 (OP)Why did this have to be so big. They should have done the Havok instead.
>>11481022Itโs not apathy, itโs disgust. They have open disdain for the guys buying these.
>>11481034They genuinely are. Lenny has been the biggest cheerleader for this line since it started, but these spazzo's acting like he don't even know Joes based on a single crappy screengrab.
>>11481033....they didn't? The marketing for the Rattler was mostly a "counter" to the Dragonfly which was a "counter" to the HISS Tank. The Snowcat has always been the most expected choice for the next Haslab for a long time, people just *wanted* to see the Mauler or MOBAT. Snowcat is in no way a surprise or last minute decision or whatever other insane theory people with no interest in Haslabs make up to twist reality to fit their weird sense of logic.
And I'm saying this as someone who has always hated the Snowcat and was hoping for a Mauler, I am not surprised things turned out this way because it was pretty much expected.
>The Snowcat has always been the most expected choice for the next Haslab for a long time, people just *wanted* to see the Mauler or MOBAT.
No, one of the fucking patches says "tank destroyer" or whatever and there's multiple other references to Joe tanks including within the rattler's cockpit
Everyone everywhere arguing "mauler vs. mobat" for nearly a year
Don't be a fucking shill
>>11481070>the Rattler was mostly a "counter" to the Dragonfly which was a "counter" to the HISS Tank.HA HA HA, no...
>>11480780How did you make that? My bro and I made some dioramas back in the day. I'll post them tomorrow if I remember. I like the rails you did and everything looks good
>>11480780I have nothing to add but this looks sick. Also the posing on Shockwave jumping the rail is chef's kiss.
>>11481013Thanks. I wanted to get like 3 but needed to wait.
>>11481071>>11481074https://youtu.be/31tOHg1b8-Y?t=151
>The air to air defense turret rotates 360 degrees and features light up HUD display perfect for targeting those pesky attack helicoptersWith a halfassed google search this is sadly all I can find, but still more then any kind of mention of Mobats or Maulers. Dragonflies are all over the video while Maulers barely appear at all. Please find me all this marketing for them teasing a tank as the next Haslab?
>Don't be a fucking shillI don't want the Snowcat, I don't *like* the Snowcat, why would I shill the Snowcat? Hell, if anything this whole experience just makes me mad I didn't back the Rattler when I could because I forgot how fantastic the set actually looked.
>>11481131>Please find me all this marketing for them teasing a tank as the next Haslab?Wow, it's almost like they were synergistically advertising a product that was releasing/about to release with the Dragonfly, as well as teasing a future product at the same time.
>>11481139>target acquired: mauler
>>11481145>Demonstrate your fidelity to Cobra by affixing these Squadron Patches to a flight jacket or other item from your personal wardrobe. The Cobra Airborne insignia patch with motto is donned by all successful recruits. Will you be assigned to the 84th Squadron Flyswatters charged with eliminating pesky attack copters? >Or do your skills align more with the Cobra Fighter Command Z06 Squadron โ The Fearsome Fangs โ who specialize in rending tanks asunder? >TANKSIt should also be mentioned that it is specifically advertised as a GROUND ATTACK jet, just like the real-world plane it's based on, designed primarily as a tank neutralizer.
>>11481139That generic tank is most certainly not a Mauler or a Mobat, but thanks for pointing out another very direct reference to the Rattler being a counter to the Dragonfly.
>>11481145>Specifically mention Rattler being a counter to Dragonfly in promo video of Rattler."Nu uh, never happened, you're crazy!"
>barely visible, kind of have to squint to see it easter egg on the console of the inside of the product 90% of collectors will never really see"See, this CONFIRMS they wanted to do a Mauler as the Haslab!!!"
Guys it's like you're not even trying.
>>11481153......did you not fully read your own post, because your post very clearly demonstrates the Rattler was marketed as an anti Dragonfly vehicle.
>>11481156>That generic tank is most certainly not a Mauler or a Mobat>uh ... w-well who cares if they literally mention the Mauler? that doesn't mean anything!kill yourself, retard
>>11481163And they also teased the Rattler for like 6 months before they announced it
Not for less than 1 month like they did with the Snow Cat
>>11481131So you're logic is because he said that one sentence it was designed to counter the dragonfly. What about the very next sentence where he says its perfect for putting holes in parachutes? Or the next scene after that where it shows the plane destroying two tanks? Did you stop the video the second you got what you thought you wanted out of it?
Theres a Mauler on the back of one of the recent boxes
>>11481190Your entire argument is based on the theory that while promoting one Haslab, Hasbro SUPER SECRETLY started promoting the NEXT Haslab. One that wouldn't even be announced for another year let alone produced. And the entirty of evidence that you can provide for this fact is on a SINGLE super specific easter egg image on the inside control panel of an item most people here will never own and ONE single second of B roll animation in a five minute long trailer that features more Dragonflies then any tank.
>very next sentence where he says its perfect for putting holes in parachutes?Like the ones the two Paratroopers who come with the Dragonfly would use.
>the plane destroying two tanks?Far more Skystrykers and Dragonflies get blown up in the vid as in the OG show the Rattler was always Cobra's main multipurpose fighter jet. There is an ENTIRE segment of the video showcasing the Rattler as an Anti-Dragonfly vehicle, yet *I'm* wrong for saying this thing was marketed as a counter to the Dragonfly? There's all of ONE second in that video dedicated to showing off the Rattler taking out tanks, yet that is enough evidence to prove that this thing was *entirely marketed* to be an anti tank vehicle and proving the next Haslab was infact a tank? Hell by your logic the Slugger was always going to be the TRUE next Haslab because it had far more screen time then the two burning tanks.
Anyone notice they did some Voldo shit with one of the Slice promo pics?
>>11481195>>11481197Neat, hopefully that means the NEXT next Haslab is a Mauler because I would love one. It's one of the few classic Joe Vehicles I've never owned in any manner and getting one in Classified would be amazing.
>>11481028I deal with literal soul grinding depression. I couldnt get the rattler but thats a really cool touch, could a vtol do artic weather?
>>11481034Ive really never watched any video where anyone describes a toy. Not being a jerk, just never really done so but, i have watched a few videos about lore or development or similar subjects.
>>11481056So resellers or investor types or just a normal pay pig type fan?
>>11481222Screw G.I. Joe X Street Fighter or G.I. Joe X Mortal Combat, I want G.I. Joe X Soul Calibur.
I just wanted to use a screengrab of the whole package and thought Lenny looking directly into the camera was funny. Guess I should've used this instead
>>11481218That anon wasn't me, the original schizo talking about this.
>a SINGLE super specific easter egg image on the inside control panel Yes, it is VERY specific, these references to upcoming products typically are within this line of toys, such as future figures and vehicles being teased in the background of promo pics months ahead their official announcements.
>of an item most people here will never ownWhat is your point here? The Snow Cat is most likely going to pull worse numbers than the Rattler for several combined reasons (I know this part is difficult for you to grasp, so I'll lay them out: it's a snow vehicle, it's less iconic, its functionality is based in part around the GI Joes having cookout rather than a battle, everyone salready has a Flint and a Jaye, and probably several lesser reasons as well), so I guess by your retarded logic it's too "specific" and "most won't get one" which means it basically doesn't even count and we should stop talking about it completely. But if you're critiquing Haslab as a concept and that the FOMO of poor people who can't afford big vehicles will cause them all to commit suicide eventually, that's an entirely different point and it's not relevant. Stay on topic.
You're also ignore the other references.
You still haven't addressed your retarded statement where you said the tank on the specific tank-smasher patch could be any kind of tank and that the cockpit readout showing the plane to be locked on to a mauler is totally unrelated, and so is the copy in the campaign add saying the rattler is perfect for killing helicopters and tanks, and that in your opinion these references "don't count".
>>11481234The pic with people give it a better sense of scale because the Snowcat on it's own doesn't look too impressive, it's not until you see it next to other Classified vehicles that you realize how massive the damn thing is. Like, it's kind of stupid huge for what it actually is and I don't really get why it had to be so big. Though I do LOVE that it has a removable bed cover, that is something the Snowcat should've featured decades ago.
Still not gonna bother with it though, never liked the damn thing and I don't have enough winter guys to make it worth it. Even with the ME stuff, I barely got any of the snow themed dudes, of all the environmental specialties, Arctic themed figures are easily my second most disliked theme (aquatic being my most disliked because scaled boats are hard to come by).
I'm glad they did the SnowCat, as it was a no-brainer for me to get. Everyone likes GI Joe in their own way, and for me, I really couldn't care less about the "generic" military Joe vehicles like the Mobat, Mauler, and even the Dragonfly. Those are easy passes for me because they aren't exciting. I'm way more interested in the uniquely GI Joe vehicles like the HISS and the SnowCat (which is why they're the only two I've backed so far).
On one hand, it kind of sucks that they can really only release one large vehicle like this per year, but I can understand why, as it might stretch people a bit thin releasing multiple big, $300-$400 range vehicles per year on top of all the other figures and smaller vehicles/sets they release.
Wonder if it'd work to do one Joe and one Cobra Haslab each per year, though. I mostly just want the Cobra stuff, so it kind of sucks having to wait a year or two to see what the next vehicle even is. I skipped both the Dragonfly and the Rattler, and only got the Cat because I liked it so much as a kid.
>>11481257what they should do is open up that 200 dollar "made-to-order" that they did with the Marvel Legends Dragon Man for Joe shit
The Thunder machine would be perfect for that
>>11481243Well it is a Combat All-Terrain vehicle so just pretend that the Joe's had to bring it out of its natural habitat to be used in other environments due to supply issues or something.
>>11481257there's no such thing as an "exciting" joe vehicle imo
they're all either just generic real world shit or they're total nonsense
cobra vehicles tend to ride the line way better, and their aesthetic works more cohesively for the outlandish stuff
>>11481226Cobra Island Cobra Trooper was a huge shitshow and they pointed and laughed, basically. So โusโ
>>11481304>cobra vehicles tend to ride the line way better, and their aesthetic works more cohesively for the outlandish stuffProbably, yeah. But there are some Joe vehicles I did like, but for me as a kid, I came in mostly at the Battle Corps era, so there were plenty of middle-size vehicles I did like, like the Mudbuster, the Badger, etc. Cobra vehicles did seem more outlandish, but still reasonably believable.
I guess for me, it really kind of comes down to the shape, the design elements, the color, etc. SnowCat I like because of the shape, the missile turret and the missile racks in the back, etc. I like what they've done with the back so that you can take things out and make it storage and/or transport for other figures. Also, some of the fun and goofy little details, like the kitchenette section that can be pulled out with a grill and cup holders and whatnot.
>>11481311Cobra island subline was a disaster, but they still ended up making the CI troopers and the Vipers more abundant in other ways through the re-releases, so it wasn't like you couldn't end up getting them.
>>11481311>basicallySo they didn't?
>>11481337at least the new bludd coming out clears up the final mistake of that era
but they need to do a new better zartan
>>11481339give me a zartan with his luxurious cartoon HAIR and I'll buy it again
otherwise no dice hasbro
>>11481342I just want better posability
We'll probably get a ninja force one before an updated "standard" one though
>>11481338>what is brevitykys
>>11481347>still no proof No
>>11481349Feel free to scroll back through their videos, Iโm not spoon feeding your faggot ass.
>>11481351>what is burden of proof
>>11481234It's okay, we have some people here obsessed with the people who present these things, you should have realized that, so next time if you have to use them, censor their faces, or use a face replacement tool to make them people from 80s movies, as 80s movie actors won't scare them.
https://youtu.be/2C8zYFArnKY?si=smJWS8uVTSH8Dw2A they should be dressed warmer but I guess it's not THIS cold
>>11481338They never laughed at "us" but they did fully expect to put out more Troopers eventually and told us to be patient. The whole Cobra Island situation *was* a shit show though, but mostly because Target way underordered everything and Hasbro couldn't just pump out more because they were store exclusives at first so they had to get around that. When they did, they put out so many Troopers and Vipers that you can still get them both, often at a discount. That Viper three pack, despite it's potential "QC problem", is an amazing set that sells for dirt cheap while Cobra Troopers came out in Infantry, Officer and Retro flavors. You can still get the Officer and Retro Troopers from most online shops, and the Viper pack is everywhere on discount, so in the end the problem was way overblown.
Bludd is really the last character from that era to not get a re-release and he'll be everywhere soon enough. Now if only the classic Range Viper could get that treatment, but that's a problem of Wal-Mart's doing this time around.
Long story short, brick and mortar stores are awful and ruin everything.
>>11481388Army builders should never, ever, be an exclusive. Particularly brick and mortar exclusives. Particularly ones as admittedly based as that figure was.
>>11481391Trooper and Baroness was a problem of a CEO at Target liking GI Joe and paying for the characters he wanted to be exclusive
I have never seen that CEO mentioned in threads since Cobra Island days so maybe it's not a thing anymore so I don't know the Wal-Mart ones
>>11481391It definitely sucked that the Cobra Troopers and basic Vipers were Target exclusives. Though, they did make it possible to get ever-so-slightly different versions of those figures later. They also seemed to realize their mistake, because all the PP and TF figures were pretty easy to get, and those were also Target exclusives.
>>11481395>so I don't know the Wal-Mart onesWalmart has had a lot of exclusives, but for generic troopers just off the top of my head they had the Range Vipers, the Crimson (PoC-themed) Alley Vipers and the Mole Rats. None of them were super easy to get, but the latter two were a lot easier than the Range Viper and go for less than he does on the aftermarket. The problem with Walmart's exclusives is that I don't even know if they ever even made it to stores. I legit have never ever seen a Walmart exclusive in a physical store. Never even saw the space for them. I at least saw all of the CI figures once, and still saw space on the shelves for them, even if that space was empty.
I mean, I guess technically they did offer the Range Viper again in the HISS fireteam 3-pack. I mean, that was just a good army builder set too, and it is still available in some places.
>>11481403I remember seeing walmart employees post pics of full cases of range vipers months after they were supposed to be on shelves and after they were already going for like 80 bucks on average, that figure was just a clusterfuck
>>11481403>Mole Rats. None of them were super easy to get,It's still in stock on HP
>>11481408Yeah, you're right. I think they briefly initially sold out, but then they got more of them, and they just didn't seem all that popular, for whatever reason.
>>11481409Isn't it like a new design or something? New designs always lose nostalgic buyers. Also people who hate the Transformers gimmick. Like I get it
>>11481391I agree, stores do not. They specifically *want* figures like that to draw people in. That is the whole point of exclusives after all. But this is Hasbro, and those figures were never going to stay exclusive for long. But shit like that is what happens when toy companies are victims to the whims of corporate retail machines like Target and Wal-Mart.
>>11481417at least we don't have to deal with that shit lego store does where you have to spend like $160 on one order on their online store to get an exclusive ""free"" set that sometimes you still have to pay for
>>11481420As much as I love Lego stuff, I am very frequently glad I do not actually *buy* Lego stuff.
Valabots out in full force, utterly seething
Anybody got some good prototype pics
So the Moray should be the next Haslab right ?
>>11481654I'd love a moray but I think the next one needs to be a Joe tank. Especially if they give us two color options on it, forest green and desert tan.
>>11481662The next one needs to be a cobra vehicle.
>>11481654Eh, id like copperhead to have a boat. But i want deep six and sharc first.
>>11481654Emphasis on should be. Who knows what it will actually be now. Luckily even the specialized cobra vehicles are more based than anything the Joes had so it won't be a dud like the snow cat regardless of what they pick.
>>11481685the only misstep they could do with a cobra haslab is get too specific
I've seen people say they want the full despoiler but that wouldn't do as well as a standard vehicle
>>11481654As awesome as that would be, I can see that being way too large. It was a bit toy for 1:18 figures, it'd be massive for Classified. If anything they'd do the Moccasin with a Retro card Copperhead, Lamprey and Baroness in a Scuba suit or something. It's also the last vehicle remaining for them to do a full on massive Tiger Force re-release of previous Haslabs.
Next Joe vehicle after that will be the Conquest so Joes finally get a jet. Just as iconic as the Sky Stryker, but at half the size. And with it's fixed wings they could easily do the fold up wing feature again.
But forget Haslabs, what's gonna be the next general release vehicle in the line? I think it's high time we got ourselves an Armadillo, which could easily see a remold into a Slaughter's Marauder's rocket version. Or maybe go full on year of the Dreadnoks with a Thundermachine, Air Skiff and some sort of Motorcycle.
Past the '86 stuff things start getting pretty weird though, so I doubt they'll go too deep into the line. I can't see a lot of demand for the Recon Sled or the Road Toad or the Buzz Boar.....though I would very much buy me a Buzz Boar if they released it. Over time things just get sillier and sillier, especially the smaller vehicles, so they might not translate as well to a "collector market".
I mean, I would love to see them go full on crazy with vehicles and such, especially smaller ones. But I doubt they'll go that hard because in the end Hasbro is run by a bunch of lame-Os.
>>11481691The Despoiler could easily be a standard release but the D.E.M.O.N. was always pretty lame. I mean it does have some cool concepts and the triple cockpit is nice, but those dinky treads and it's pop up feature and with how awkwardly wide but shallow it is always made it more silly looking then fearsome. I'd much rather see a modern Dominator as it's gimmick is pretty cool, though it too does look fairly silly.

>>11481097I was using him, the other figures, and the van as a scale reference when I was in the early stages.
Helix is driving Frank's Van while Bazooka is firing a rocket out the back. If you have the room, the ramen vehicles have been solid so far. The Hell Charger moves back and forth from my Ghost Rider display to the Joe shelf. The Van has been harder to fit.
>>11481699Oh I totally forgot about that one.
I had a rerelease of that when I was a kid.
That would actually be sick, and easily someting they could put out for 100--150.
>>11481691I feel like the Cobra Arctic Wolf would be a good counter to the Snow Cat but I think it's something they could get away with as a retail release. It's just barely small enough that it wouldn't feel overwhelming to put on a regular toy shelf for $100.
>>11481691>>11481699Sorry I really just like the retarded things GI Joe does sometimes

>>11482763You're welcome bro, make sure to take pics with your Classifed when you get them, they're in scale
Just kill me anons, please, I give up. So, I've never bought or even really looked at G.I. Joes before, then I see this picture of an amazing looking femme fatale figure. Find out it's a Baroness, but of course, it's one that comes with a fucking Haslab campaign and will be impossible/cost hundreds to get. Why is this just always the case in this hobby? I've been looking for a figure just like this for ages, black, sleek skin tight gear, akimbo pistols, Lazarus comic book like and when I finally discover one, it's basically unobtainable. I'm depressed.
>>11482931Anon, are you familiar with the term capitalism? You see, Hasbro is a capitalist company and they want to maximize profit on any investment they make. They invest on machine molds for this figure so you can guaranteed they are going to spit out several version of this. Might have different accessories, colors, or same color but missing accessories. Eventually you can buy three mainline figures using these mold part and rebuild this figure as you see it. Just don;t die in the next 12 years. Or you can get lucky and they pull a retro card CC.
>>11482931The Haslab Baroness is actually mostly dark blue.
There will probably be a scaled back version of that figure releases separately later, though it might be an even brighter blue to match the cartoon.
There are multiple solid black suit Baronesses out already, though they are slightly armored up compared to normal body-suit. But the articulation on those is pretty gimped compared to the female Classified figures that came out immediately after.
There's also the Crimson Strike Team version (pic related), which is red and also armored, and does have better posability and three different face options, however some don't like the garish/stylized makeup used on that figure's face.
The Haslab figure definitely has the best face, but the past figures all have pretty solid faces imo. Part of the reason I jumped head-first into Classified was because they had for the first time ever managed to make a Baroness (and any other female character) that wasn't ugly because of the larger scale to the figures.
>>11482931I managed to nab one for $100 the other day, just keep checking the listings. Once more people get their hands on it, price should settle down a bit. But yeah, they will reuse the mold.
>>11482940>retro card CCI honestly consider the mickey mouse one superior aside from the chrome helmet.
>>11482959It's insane how close to perfect this is for what I've wanted. I surrender, it's over.

>>11482946Even though I have given up and am tying the noose right now, I appreciate the suggestions anon.
>>11482967shame about the face
>>11482987Yeah it's not the best, hopefully she gets a new one if they do an arctic version
>>11482994I actually really like the lighting and angle there, the panface of that Scarlett figure is pretty much gone.
>>11482931She came with the Rattler haslab, which only just started shipping to people. Give it some time, the prices on the figures with the other Haslabs sank quite a bit as time went on.
I think her price will still be high, but it shouldn't be nearly is bad if you're wiling to wait for a year or two. Hell, as other people have mentioned, there might be another, similar Baroness out by then that is way easier to get.
>>11483221that gold paint looks awful

I hope someone designs a cabin cap or some sort for the Snow Cat. I love the idea of there being sleeping bags or cots or other stuff like that in the back, or having it as a full on arctic armored personnel carrier. A cloth hood would look great too although it obviously wouldn't provide much protection other than from wind.
Pulse is having a sale too btw. Retro Trooper is a dollar less there than on amazon's primeday sale.
>>11484384Grid Iron is probably working on all sorts of shit right now. The Gi joe team likely saw how 3P like to make addons and have been making the vehicles pretty modular and easy to upgrade.
>>11484599I almost bought another IG but... I have two already
>>11484761Same, but I only have one. They just doin't feel troop buildy to me. They over designed them for classified I think. I hope we get some sort of retro one in the future and I can use my current one as an officer.
>>11484599I got premium like a retard, so I went ahead and ordered Tripwire. Considering the Big Ben and Starduster I ordered over 2 weeks ago are finally arriving today, I'm guessing I won't see him till August.
>>11482946Crimson Strike Team Baroness is by far the best overall quality Baroness Hasbro has been put out. She can properly shoulder a sniper rifle with no issues and her head sculpts are about as close to perfect as you can get. The one catch of course is that she's got a variant color scheme which understandably is not going to be for everyone, but Baroness is a character I don't mind owning multiples of.

>>11484622I've also been thinking, it would be super easy to design some kind of base to put the turret module on and have it be a defensive structure for the campsite. Even though I was apprehensive about the Snow Cat at first and was disappointed that they weren't doing a tank, I think the value proposition on the Snow Cat with all its accessories and the overall quality is carrying it hard.
I've also been thinking, with the Ramen Toy "pseudo-MOBAT" on the market this year, I wonder if Hasbro feels like when they do a tank, just doing a MOBAT isn't gonna cut it. I'm sure people would have bought it, but I think they want to do something a bit grander than just "we did basically the same thing as Ramen but slightly better." The Mauler would be an even more impressive environment to display Joes around, with two driver seats accessible without removing the turret, as well as a gunner seat on the turret itself. I think the image Hasbro wants to show it off with is a re-creation of the G.I. Joe #1 cover, and that tank is too big for just a MOBAT to play the role.
>>11484876Look at the new one though. Maaaaaaaaaan....
>>11484876She's my favorite one so far, I expect the Haslab will take the number 1 spot for me whenever it fucking ships and gets here, but I do still use the Retro Card one in my main Cobra display since it's more "classic" looking.
>>11484833Yeah, if they make a classic design these will fill the void for that easily
But since I have two... am I retarded enough to buy four retro ones
lmao Joecels get cucked again

>>11479337 (OP)>the short fat one on the left who's not old enough to have been around to be a fan of the series in the 80s when it was new is the marketing department manager, and the boss of the other two. >Haslab Cobra Rattler w/ Wild Weasel, Baroness, & Rattler GunnerI just want the Baroness, and fuckers on Ebay are asking $170+ for it, which is bullshit. Well if Hasbro's OK with spending all that money on a low-production single-use mold, then I'll have to be OK with it, too.
>>11484931175 is like half the price of the whole set, you would've been better off just backing the Haslab, and selling everything but the Baroness
>>11484937I'll just wait and see if Hasbro blows off the Baroness mold as a single-use low-production mold, or if they'll reissue/recolor the figure for wider availability.
>>11484915It'll be a fucking shame if that Wild Weasel head sculpt never gets reused.
>>11484945They probably will, potentially even sooner than any of the Dragonfly characters get a rerelease, since Wild Weasel and a "normal" Baroness with double elbows would definitely be in higher demand than Wild Bill or any of the literally whos from the Dragonfly.
The Retro Card Cobra Commander came out like 6 months after the HISS shipped.
You'd think a figure with 90% reuse and a deluxe price tag would include a stand.
>>11484915Really hope the standard releases of the Dragonfly figures are better.
>>11484945I doubt they'll let it go to waste. The costume detailing is basically her MASS Device arc look and they're already doing a push for that stuff in the line now. I doubt they'll pass up the opportunity to put a blue and gold version out in the mainline. Hell they probably already had the factory run it through while doing the Dragonfly version.
>>11484955>You'd think a figure with 90% reuse and a deluxe price tag would include a stand.I know he's a meme but the Scott Spector guy did what I thought was a good video about why companies don't often include stands, even if it was just to bitch about Max Spider-Man and his main example was a Toy Biz one from 30 years ago
Anyway I agree he should have came with one but I have him hanging off the Dragonfly
>>11484908That kind of logic left me with a shit ton of different Vipers and not enough space to display them all.
>>11484937>>11484945As that shitty paint job showed earlier. They clearly molded in her cartoon textures on this one for a reason. We're 100% getting a retro/blue baroness out of this mold sooner or later.
>>11484998I'm the guy with the IG shelf so I do have a dedicated spot, I'm only fucked if they make a vehicle
>>11484998No that's good logic, it's space that's the issue. I bet you have a kickass collection just with no way to show it off.
Now they really need to do with Range Vipers like they've done with the BATs
>>11485000At no point did the Haslab Baroness have a shitty paintjob, but there are clearl differences between the promo shots, the SDCC prototype, and the final version.

>>11483221
>>11484997Didn't all three previous HasLabs fund in the first day?
>>11485030Yes but this is for a niche vehicle and half of the people who normally buy them don't have the weather to properly enjoy it.
The last thread talked at lengths about why this is a poor choice that might take till the end to fund with no goals reached
But it will fund
>>11485011I need to leave this thread, I am just torturing myself staying here.
>>11485032Blame all the retards bitching about the economy, Hasbro clearly went with a b-tier option to keep things cheaper
I just hope they know Cobrachads aren't poor and we can magically and miraculously save up 400 bucks to spend on a toy that doesn't suck ass every two fucking years
>>11485043>Hasbro clearly went with a b-tier option to keep things cheaperBut it's bigger than the HISS
Shouldn't they have picked something smaller
I also see the stretch goals as a response to people mad about locking new characters in Haslabs, which from the turnout here, will show them no, they need to keep doing that
>>11485048the size of the thing is irrelevant, that's not actually where expenses come in, but the interiors are less detailed than the HISS, Dragonfly, and Rattler
There's also less functionality, it's almost more comparable to the VAMP and Stinger outside of being bigger than those.
And if you remove the food gimmick shit, the figures are bland as fuck in terms of accessories.
Compare the Snow Cat roster to the Dragonfly where most of them had layers of crap you could put on them and remove.
>>11485059Wait how is details on the interior plastic more expensive than how much plastic it's made out of
>>11485062because it costs way more to mold an intricate control panel with articulated control sticks and shit in plastic than it does to make a big long rectangle
Mezco put this up today, $325. Don't see myself buying one but I think this is way cooler than the snow cat.
>>11485065Wouldn't all that fit on the same steel mold or is it different colored plastic
>>11485068Just looks that Valor mom minivan
>>11485069it's interlocking pieces of plastic, like the control panel and chair with buttons and moving control shit on the arm rests vs. the inner shell are all different pieces, but the point is that it's all militaristic/scifi bullshit
As are the Dragonfly and Rattler interiors, whereas the Snow Cat is a car dashboard with a steering wheel and normal looking car seats
>>11485073Yeah its interlocking pieces of plastic but if it's all the same color it's probably on the same steel mold and wouldn't cost any different then if that steel mold was just making a big long piece of plastic
I'm not trying to argue I just don't think I'm understanding right
>>11485078It looks like this.
The control stick and the throttle bar or whatever it is move, the harness slides in/out as if it was on pulleys like the real thing would be.
The point is, doing THAT is expensive. Little details and pieces and shit like that.
Making the big outer shell isn't. Plastic is not expensive in general.
>>11485068>>11485071Looks a little cooler than Vala's, but not $325 cool, and I have no interest in the included figure.
>>11484978I'm surprised the retros come with foot stands honestly. Those NBA figures got some basic aerial stands, I don't see why flying characters and vehicles can't get some beyond the multi hundred dollar haslabs
>>11485270Hasbro is notorious for not including stands when they should.
>>11485270I'm surprised the gold stands that came with the Crimson Strike Team had their names on them.
>>11485276I forgot about those, super nice. Shame that set sold so poorly
>>11485284I am genuinely tempted by how deep it's discount price right now, because it is a nice set, but I just can't bring myself to actually buy it. For starters, I would also need two more Guards because I only have two and it would be lame to have more commanders then troops for them to command. I also don't know what I'd do with the original Baroness (the one that came with the bike). I'm already using the movie version as Chameleon, who leads my all female Valkyrie surveillance unit. But I don't feel there's enough mold differences between the OG Baroness and the Crimson one to treat them as two different characters.
>>11485295At this point I have multiple versions of so many characters that I've started second and third displays with only sub-teams and variants.
>>11485011Kind of like the right two over the left one, which is great but not my Baronness.
>>11485097It's a lot better than Vala's. I have rhe Vanguard, and regardless of the minivan style, it has few details (in and out) and the plastic quality is awful. It looks and feels like a 50 bucks cheapo car toy. Not worth it at all. I do like his figures thought, have quite a few and they're ok.
>>11484945theyll reuse her
>>11485310Yeah, same. I just have a separate Crimson/Iron Grenadier shelf split down the middle with PD Destroy standing in until they do an actual IG Destro and Crimson Baroness in the lead of the Crimson side. Snake Supreme CC is the centerpiece.
>>11485313that hairstyle is just a swappable thing, that Baroness has three separate hairstyles and a flight helmet.
>>11485330I was fooled! She is just like a real woman!
>>11484946For photography purposes I could see myself using Wild Weasel's head for Snake Eyes without a mask.
>>11485376True, I'm in love with her, but I'll never hold her.
>>11485402That would be a good use for it.
>>11484915I still plan on doing some touch ups on my Firefly figures. I think two of the biggest problems they have is that 1) the subsurface scattering is too strong which makes them look uncanny with overly soft details, and 2) the surface finish is way too matted which also flattens out the details. I've gotten the best luck with a mix of satin and matte varnishes on my custom joes' heads and I think that would help the Dragonfly pack ins a lot, and especially some gloss varnish on the eyes would lifen them up a bit. I might try some washes and drybrushing to help bring out their details a little more, too.
>>11485071no, it looks like an actual armored vehicle used by the military unlike the valavan
Should I play waiting game for this like the falcon 2 pack to go on deep discount? Rambo quick kick is pretty neat.
>>11485755that shit is going on discount for sure
>>11485755We're not at Power Rangers fandom levels just yet, so I think you can wait.
>>11485755It could go like the Falcon pack, or like the Range Vipers. I've been burned too many times to wait, the value seems to be there so I'll just pay regular price.

But what if you're right...
>>11485755If they had updated Beach Head at all instead of going with the nonsensical vintage "flannel" then I could see this being a little more in demand, but as is, it's likely to go on discount before the end of the year.

Also, Beachhead could easily be another generic Joe with a simple headswap.

If all three tiers unlock then it will absolutely be in the same class as the Hiss offering, which was the same price.
I hate Classified if for no other reason than because it brought in all these casuals that don't know the history of GI Joe and then make terrible takes on the lack of knowledge.

It might end up lower than all the other Classified Haslabs, but I predict it'll hit around 18K-20K, which will be significantly less than all the others, but still way more than the stretch goals. All of the speculation and doom and gloom will have been for nothing.

>>11486474The retard crying about Beachhead
>>11486612I think you'll be surprised to know how many GI Joe "die hards" have a general dead zone in their brains for most of the 2000s stuff, because it was total chaos where they were rereleasing o-ring figures, making new o-ring figures, while also making non-o-ring 3.75 inch figures, rereleasing vehicles from the fucking 80s, making new ones, doing repaints of both, on top of doing shit like Sigma 6, and then doing the 25th anniversary line which also eventually got cut into by live action movie figures that often weren't even based on anything from those awful movies but were still going for a lame "realism" aesthetic
>>11486602>They're really jumping the gun on this. It'll probably crawl to its funding goal, and maybe even the first tier unlock, and then it will accelerate right at the end. That's what happened with the other Haslabs too. Reaching the initial goal gets a confidence boost because people are more comfortable backing when it's a sure thing that they will get it. Every unlock attracts additional backers after that because it sweetens the pot further.
>>11486621All the other GI Joe Haslabs funded to the base level in like a day
>>11486619The early 00s is a deadzone because there were a bazillion re-re-re-re-re-releases and most of them weren't even good. The GI Joe Vs Cobra line (from the beginning to Venom vs Valor) was also pretty meh, with some weirdass proportions, so it's no wonder most people tend to ignore most of that era.
You really need to dig and search into that era to find something worthwhile, aside from the comic packs.
I have a shit load of GI Joe vs Cobra figures, but i probably haven't touched any of them in almost 20 years now. Like, they're all in two boxes and they haven't been opened since the 00s.... aside from some really nice figures, which never went into those boxes and are stored with my modern 1:18 lines.
Figures like Dr Mindbender in doctor clothing and that Resident Evil wannabe were pretty great. Also, this Snake Eyes is pretty fucking amazing too, because he's basically a 25th prototype.
Second half of the 2000s isn't a deadzone and people actively search for and buy those daily.

>>11487021There is merit in wanting a big uncaring corporation to fail, but when it fails it results in people not getting something they were willing to put down money for. It results in a toy not being brought into existence. For some reason people treat this as a good thing because it means a company that makes money anyway won't make a product.
"It shouldn't cost that much!" Yeah I agree but it does and they won't release it cheaper so we all have to deal with it. They've made like 20 of these complaining about it has resulted in no change, so either stop or switch up how you're complaining
>>11487021>they got two correctEngine of vengeance and the rancor? Man, what blunders
>>11487045The irony of the Engine of Vengeance failing was Ramen
>>11487046The Rancor was a failure from a mile away; it had lame unlocks. The Charger, meanwhile, was not at all a Ghostrider Haslab.
Yeah, it had Robbie and his charger, but it also had an Xmen villain gooners and X-Men fans wanted, and Mephisto, a supernatural character that wasn't tied to Robbie as a rider all that much. It wasn't worth the price and Ramen Toys put out a cheaper car.
>>11487021Ive only wanted the sky striker to fail. I really liked the retro line and when hasbro killed it to roll out these o ring throw backs pissed me off. Those figures are too expensive and look cruddy imo, i do enjoy the arah stuff and the corps but these throwback tribute figures dont look good.
>>11487131As someone who regrets missing out on Galactus, Hisstank, and Rattler, I don't want anyone to get left out. I legit feel for people who wanted the Rancor but got fucked over by hasblo market team, I got fucked out of both the Charger and Mephisto. I'd rather they had made the haslab a Ghost Rider Haslab rather than whatever that was.
>>11487180Rancor was something I wanted just because I always loved that monster, and I have the other toys of it I just wanted a bigger more articulated one.
I felt like the odd one out the whole campaign because the unlocks were a huge sticking point for a lot of people, because they were shit, but, I just wanted the Rancor, so I couldn't really care less they were shit
>>11487188With the Classified Haslabs, the tiers have always felt worth it when you consider the price of the figures is $25. So, one of these coming with 3-4 figures feels like you're really getting the vehicle for about $200 in the end, so it sweetens the deal quite a bit. For a lot of people, the stretch goals can mean a lot.
The stretch goals for the Rancor were honestly an insult. I don't collect SW, but the fact that one stretch goal was a cardboard cutout, and one was a handful of bones, and one was a peg warmer that you could get off the clearance rack WHILE that Haslab was active was a joke.
>>11479343These things are all way too fucking big, who has space for this shit?
>>11487194I have two shelves for my Cobra shit and the Hiss is on top of one, and the Rattler will go on top of the other.
>>11487188It was dumb not to do the Keeper as a goal. I'd have done Keeper, Door, Luke. Pile'o'bone and Cardboard backdrop would have been base pack ins.
I don't even like Star Wars beyond the monsters, Mandalorians, and vehicles. I backed the Rancor out of wanting it.
>>11487192I love the Classified team making this stuff. I wish we got the tank or the apc, I was poor as a kid and always wanted this stuff. Now I make good money and love buying those things I could never get.
>>11487192>Classified Haslabs, the tiers have always felt worth it when you consider the price of the figures is $25. So, one of these coming with 3-4 figures feels like you're really getting the vehicle for about $200That made me just think the Star Wars licenses made it unprofitable to include more figures, so they included the cheapest shit they could because it really would cost that much just for the Rancor
Maybe that comes off as pro Hasbro when I don't mean it to, part of me thinks they had a reason to make the unlocks something they already had tooling for, cardboard, and some plastic scraps

>>11487276Thank you anon.
>>11487276I think that looks good

>>11487278If the Snowcat was some $150 online exclusive without all the extras or electronics and maybe 15% smaller, I'd probably would have actually been excited for it despite not even liking it as a vehicle.
But as a $300+ Haslab with environmental specific cartoon versions of previously released characters, I literally could not care less. I mean I'm glad for those who'd want it and hope it happens for them, but that is something I am in no way excited about.
Call me when they drop a Classified Basilisk.
>>11487335>If the Snowcat was some $150 online exclusive without all the extras or electronics and maybe 15% smaller, I'd probably would have actually been excited for it despite not even liking it as a vehicle15% smaller? I'm not sure. It'd have to be like, similar to the VAMP right? That's their retail size it seems. Is that 15% smaller? It'd have to be smaller than the HISS at least
>>11487338>that's their retail sizefor some reason they haven't figured out people would be more willing to buy three/four 150 dollar actual mid-size vehicles a year than a single haslab
and both in plenty of cases
>>11487347Actually
>>11487194 I think they see comments like this more than anything, so that's why they do their current model rather than three things a year that might take up space quicker
I think there is probably room in there for at least one or two vehicles a year between the smaller $100 vehicles, and made-to-order $300+ large vehicles that come out once a year.
I'm still kind of surprised they didn't do a stripped-down version of the HISS and took out the electronics, lights, figures (except maybe the driver) and some of the other accessories, maybe painted it blue and tried to sell it in a $150-$200 range.
They'd probably make a killing do that. I would buy another one or two at that price point. I only backed one, and I don't really want to pay $500 for a second one on the aftermarket.
>>11487364basically everyone into this line had to start worrying about space by the second year, that's never been something hasbro gives a shit about the size of the haslabs and bigger mass-release vehicles is always used as a selling point when they do streams
It's just compartmentalized teams who either don't pay attention to like the Marvel Legends made-to-order Dragon Man doing pretty well or don't care and think the way more obsessed GI Joe autists wouldn't BTFO that experiment's numbers if they did the same thing with the Thunder Machine and like a Zanya figure or something
>>11487370I already don't give a shit about the flashing lights, I had batteries in my hiss for like a month before I got annoyed that any time I picked it up I accidentally hit the button and had to press it 10 more times to cycle back to turning them off
And then I changed the batteries in my tv remote and the batteries had started to leak and I remembered that's a thing that happens and took the batteries out of my HISS and I won't ever put any in my Rattler
That whole functionality needs to be dropped, they're just using it as an excuse to inflate the cost and they'd be better off just including an extra palette swap trooper
>>11487370I have no idea what difference there is between the Ghostbusters gun thing that was a Haslab and the one they're releasing now so maybe they won't actually strip out much
So being new to these things, how often do they do waves/their pulse streams? Is it basically the same as Legends and Black Series?
>>11487407Yes.
Though last month was "Yo Joe June" or whatever but they kind of dropped the ball.
>>11487370If they released a stripped down version of the Hiss, all the Joe Haslabs would fail as people would wait for the stripped down versions. They would be morons to do it. I hope they do it because I passed on the Hiss, though.
>>11487412Wonder when those riot officers will go up...
>>11487422That's kind of a wild assumption. The HISS is probably the most recognizable vehicle from anything GI Joe related, and it is an army builder. You'd assume they would make it different enough to preserve the "value" for the people who backed it. It is also why you can sort of surmise that they would strip some of the elements out and maybe change the color to make the Haslab version unique enough to still owning it.
And there's really not necessarily anything to indicate they'd do that to every vehicle. People not backing future Haslabs because they think they'll just get re-released as some sort of cheaper version later down the line would kind of be dumb on the consumer's part. It doesn't even really make sense for most of the other vehicles. Potential alternate color HISS tanks just make sense from there being several colors to begin with.
Sure, in the old lines vehicles were recolored, but they were kind of put forth as totally different vehicles.
>>11487422Nobody would give a fuck if they did it in a year or two.
The amount of people who want a toy and would wait 4+ years to get a worse version for 100/200 dollars less isn't large enough to cut into the Haslab sales. Especially not for GI Joe shit. There's assuredly more people who bought 1 HISS tank and regret not getting a second one because it turned out so well.
>>11487440>>11487451I hope you anons are right, because I missed it, but honestly it doesn't seem like it's going to happen.

>>11487488Yeah mine is still pending and not shipped yet
Crazy isn't it
>>11487338I'd say it should be bigger then the Vamp but smaller then it is now if it were to be a "retail" release. But I also think the Haslab version is just *too* big for what it is. And not because of "space" issues or anything like that, but because it's just a two seater snow truck and was never a huge monster of a vehicle. I don't remember it dwarfing the HISS tank like it currently does, and it just seems odd that it's such a massive beast of a thing.
>>11487370I would love to see that, and honestly expected it to happen by now so I'm sort of sad it didn't. A "basic" HISS Tank would be a great addition to the line and would actually be a good compliment to the Haslab version as you could share gear from the original one with the more "basic" version.
>>11487373Anyone complaining that "1:12 stuff takes too much space" wasn't a 1:18 collector to begin with. I have *multiple* three foot long vehicles for my 1:18 figures, both Joe and Non-Joe made stuff. There's a huge chunk of my basement that's just storage for all the 1:18 vehicles and buildings I've bought over the years as my toy room is too small to display them. G.I. Joe, no matter the scale, is a space hog of a line, and the longer it runs the more room it'll eat up in your collection.
>>11487422That's like saying Kickstarters will fail because everyone will just buy the figures when they hit retail. But if no one funds the initial project....the toy will *never* get made in the first place. Not backing the initial project because you assume you'll just be able to get it later is some straight up ass backwards thinking.
>>11487470My anger for not backing the Rattler grows with each new image that gets shared. Not only because of the fantastic new Baroness, as I'm sure she'll see a retail release eventually (here's looking at you Retro CC and Scarlet), but because the Rattler has always been one of my favorite Cobra vehicles and I hate that I missed out on it.
>>11487532>(here's looking at you Retro CC and Scarlet)Retro Scarlett was announced and shown well in advance of the Dragonfly and Glenda, in that case it was actually them reusing a normal release mold for the Haslab, though nobody seemed to care at the time.
Everyone hates Glenda now though, and every other Dragonfly figure. It's always great when not giving a shit about the Joes pays off.
>>11487535Really? My mistake then. I thought I remembered Glenda being revealed before Retro Scarlet but I honestly wasn't really paying attention to either the Dragonfly Haslab OR the Retro releases back then.
But why the hate for Glenda? The Retro Scarlet mold is good and Glenda looks like a fantastic use of it. She was honestly the only figure I wanted from that whole project, mainly because female Joes are sadly pretty rare.
>>11487484I legit love both the vehicles I have gotten from Ramen and wish I had gotten the tanks. Ive been supplementing my Marvel, Joe, Cobra, shelves with third-party stuff. I even have a Fumbles/Trouser Snake on my Cobra shelf.
>>11487535>>11487586Glenda was revealed in summer of 2023, retro Scarlett was revealed later in the fall, but Scarlett released in Spring 2024 before the Dragonfly shipped out.
I love Glenda though, I'm glad she was made.
>>11487586>Why the hate for Glendaher face sucks ass
Just like Retro Scarlett's, and Glenda's honestly looks worse since all the Dragonfly figures look like they have faces made from play doh whereas Retro Scarlett's bad face looks more like a bad call someone made along the line
And here's a more appropriate comparison since most likely you're gonna be looking at this thing on a shelf a few feet away from you.
...Glenda still looks worse though

>>11487665>>11487654She looks like a frigid bitch
>>11487684yeah, it's weird because Jaye is generally supposed to be the more straightforward, tomboyish army chick, but now 2/3 of her Classified figures are heavy on makeup

>>11487665>>11487696Yeah, eye shadow may be a bit heavy, but I'm happy overall with how it looks.
>>11487046It's understandable with those two, as well. The Engine of Vengeance was overpriced for a car toy, it should have been $200. The Rancor also looked like dogshit compared to other large format monster toys, it needed better engineering and a better sculpt. They learned some hard lessons from both of those campaigns. Their Haslab vehicles have offered way more bang for the buck since then, and if you look at Giantman and other large scale figures, there's no comparison with that weak ass Rancor figure in terms of detail and engineering.
I am still saddened that the Heroscape campaign failed but ultimately, that was a stupid idea in the first place. Doing a limited crowd funder for a tabletop wargame basically was Hasbro's way of saying they saw no future for the game before it was even out other than maybe another Haslab expansion in a few years. You weren't going to see people playing Heroscape in game shops because there'd be nowhere to buy it. There'd be no expansions, either, which was a huge draw of the original. I backed it but I understand fully why it failed and thought doing a Haslab was misguided. Wargames are an ecosystem that asks for a significant upfront investment from the potential player, and Hasbro was not showing confidence in it.
>>11487665Good resting bitch face

>>11487814I recall them specifically mentioning Heroscape would have a retail version, the Haslab just offered more stuff upfront with a lot of exclusive bits. I was actually tempted to jump into that because what they offered was actually pretty impressive, but I don't really have the social circle to make use of a game like that often enough to have warranted the purchase.
But still it's a shame the project failed because it kind of reinforced their fear that there wasn't a market for the game.

>>11481242My problem isn't with the snow cat itself but that Hasbro has neglected the arctic theme for five years in Classified. Releasing only two snow joes with Snow Job and Arctic SS(that's based off of Ninja Force SS), and expects people to pay money for a haslab with that kind of support. Especially since the leaked 2026 retail listings for Classified imply that the line is having a drastic cut in the number of it's yearly releases. Unless there's more leaked retail listings that are going to drop later this year. However I doubt it because by this time we usually have the full leaked retail listings for the next year.
If they had a polar battle bear announced, Iceberg, Windchill, Blizzard, and some more I would get it. But it's looking highly unlikely if those 2026 retail listings are all we're getting next year. Who knows, maybe we'll see more at SDCC but I'm not gonna put money down on a Snow Cat if all we're getting is Iceberg and that's it.
I guarantee if they had done a Mauler it would have funded day 1 and we would already be at tier 2 unlocks. Why? I dunno maybe because there's almost 100 joes in the line and support vehicles you can pair it with versus fucking two snow joes.
It would go a long ways if they would come out and say.
>Hey we know there's not many arctic themed joes. But we got some in the pipeline to go with the Snow Cat. They're not ready for us to show off but they're gonna be really cool to go with it..
>>11488704It doesn't seem like they're doing the Haslab tie-ins anymore like they did for the HISS, they didn't do shit for the Dragonfly and there's been nothing announced or leaked that would fit for the Rattler.
I think they just went with the Snow Cat thinking the lack of utility wouldn't be a concern for people.
>>11488704It isn't like the line is ending at the end of the year or anything. In the future, I am sure there will be more snow-themed figures. Also, I guess you forgot that the Cat itself is coming with (assuming it hits all stretch goals) 3 Arctic-themed figures too, so that'll be 5 figures, and it probably won't even hold more than that anyway.
Plus, there are Arctic BATs and two different versions of Snow Serpents, so there will at least be themed bad guys for it to fight.
>>11488706It does kind of suck that they didn't do add-ons for the Dragonfly and Rattler, but what else could they have done? Guess they could have done some ground support guys, but the HISS DLCs made sense, since one is a trailer with missiles, and the other is just a ground troop set.
>>11488714I don't really feel like there even needs to be an excuse to just put out more Cobra troops of various types, and they've kind of done a bad job of it thus far.
But as far was what could pair with the Rattler, like just a 1-for-1 of what they did with the HISS, they could do a three-pack of a mechanic/air traffic control guy, a paratrooper, and like blue Technoviper redeco, and then a separate set of a small missile-loader vehicle with just a bunch of different missiles you could swap with the ones with Rattler comes with and a driver.
As it is, I'm gonna put my Trubble Bubble and the CLAW next to my Rattler, but I would enjoy dedicated Rattler DLC sets.

How many different Vipers do we have at this point? 8 or 9? And all of them except the Frag Viper and Saw Viper have repaints. The base Vipers even probably. The base Viper alone has 5 or 6 repaints. There's like 5 different versions of the BATs, the blueshirt cobra troopers have probably 8 or 9 different repaints, and there are plenty of other Cobra generics like the Night Creepers, Iron Grenadiers, generic red and blue ninjas, female troopers, and probably others I am forgetting.
I mean, I would certainly love even more as well, but I'm not really disappointed at what we've gotten up to this point.
>>11488789They've only done 3 releases of a generic male trooper in 5 or 6 years. The two different cobra island ones (which were hard to find) and then the retro carded one which doesn't match the blue of the other troopers or the standard cobra commander (or any other version of CC).
There's the Valkyries, but that's a two pack and I doubt most people would want their cobra troopers to be 60% or more female.

Kind of assbackwards marketing but that's nothing new from Hasbro. I can certainly see them dropping the PBB and an Arctic sub-themed Joe set at some point, probably when the second run of Arctic Bats starts rolling out.
>I guarantee if they had done a Mauler it would have funded day 1 and we would already be at tier 2 unlocks. Why? I dunno maybe because there's almost 100 joes in the line and support vehicles you can pair it withOf the current Classified crew released, who would be the best to be on the crew of an actual tank? Not asking to be a dick, I genuinely am having trouble deciding who I'd want operating a tank outside of Covergirl as I have that McFarlane Tumbler with dreams of converting it into a more Joe friendly platform. Just need to figure out who would be driving it and I really can't think of a good crew of three from the Joes we already have.
>>11488706I don't think they really could've done much to "add-on" to Dragonfly or Rattler. Hell, even the figures that come with the Dragonfly don't really "add on" to it like the HISS Tank's specialized crew did as you don't really drop paratroopers from an attack helicopter. At best they could've done a Rattler colored Trouble Bubble set with Air Traffic Troopers or something, but the original is still floating about and I could see very few people wanting a ground team for their jet.
>>11488893There's like 3 different air-based Vipers they could release
Considering how many people are going to put Weasel with all their Cobra characters rather than with the Rattler, and probably also use the Rattler Baroness as their main display Baroness, having more Cobra pilot types wouldn't hurt
>>11488649Can't you just heat up the holsters first?
I decided not to buy anyone.
>>11488662Too big for the holsters but she does look good with them
>>11489043I don't think it's really a scraping issue, the metallic paint just wants to transfer to the softer plastic over time wherever it makes contact.
>>11489111nice, thanks for taking a pic
so far those have only come with shockwave and now the frag viper, but they do seem kind of feminine to me
they should've given crimson bareness gold versions of those instead of those big ass uzis that are bigger than her forearms
>>11488786she's DAT BITCH
how did world war hell get to 124k? $35 a figure for some zombies that don't aesthetically fit either vintage of 25th style figures. good for them, but absolutely shocking
>>11488888The only repaint of the Cobra Trooper I want at this point is a Classified version of the Nightwatch set from the 25th line. Now I don't expect a Classified five pack, but a two pack of just troopers, or even a three pack of two troopers and an officer would suffice for me. It was a cool little original subgroup back in the 25th era and those guys were my main Cobra troops until the regular blue shirts became more common place. They also compliment Firefly really well since they're a team of specialized Saboteurs.
I doubt it'll ever happen seeing how all the other army builder packs kind of linger, but all of them had their own issues so a set like that would probably be more popular.
>>11489462They've really only done four actual army builder packs, the steel corp two-pack, the three vipers, the two ninjas, and the two valkyries
I think the Valkyries probably did the best, since they've actually sold out multiple times on Pulse and gotten refreshed repeatedly, and I can only assume it's because they are generic troopers
>>11489462>Nightwatch set from the 25thI liked how the o-ring version looked more.
>>11489473I still wonder how people would feel if they just did like pulse-exlusive army builder packs or sets. They did stuff like that for Star Wars and Marvel with clone troopers, Storm Troopers, and some ninjas and stuff for ML (I think...) I wonder why they couldn't do that for GI Joe, a property they own.
Could even keep costs down so they could charge like, $15-$18 per figure or something by cutting out the packaging like they did with the above, and just putting them in plain white boxes, and just have it be a figure, a backpack and a gun or something instead of three different guns, different sets of hands, different heads, etc.
>>11489476Eh, that set is far more boring and less cohesive. The 25th set felt far more unique and looked much better as a group. Though did swap out all their helmets for black berets and that made them look far more interesting.
>>11489512I feel like that's what the Green Shirts should've been.
>>11489489what are blathering about
man I hope the SDCC exclusive this year is some sick Cobra shit and not some gay b-tier Joe
>>11490232No I wouldn't mind a really stupid F-tier Joe, just to see how Classifed tires to make him badass
>>11490232It's the Cold Slither set, we've known about this for a while.
>>11490408damn, really?
I thought that shit was put up for preorder months ago.
Last year when it was OAMCC they only showed it like 2 weeks before it went up.

>>11488786When they reveal Ambush they better give me her as well.
>>11490446I think they'll try to sell that shit for 100 bucks, and it won't do well.
If they go 75, that'll do it.
It is 4 figures, so I can see why they'd go for a full 100, but there's also only 4 accessories in the whole set so hopefully it'll land at the SMS price point.
>>11490460Depending on how many pieces the drum set is made out of I could imagine it being more
>>11490460You're forgetting that it's an exclusive. Every Classified exclusive has had a dumbass price point. Serpentor was fucking $80 and that was years ago. I have no doubt the set will be $100, if not 10-15 more
>>11490469Serpentor is still one of the best figures in the line, and the chariot is easily top 5 in terms of vehciles, not including Haslabs.
That price doesn't bother me, and it's a better deal than getting the red technoviper and the artillery trailer for the same price.
It's also better than the Stinger.
>>11490469I think the tooling for his Chariot factored into a lot of that more than him just being a exclusive
How much was Mindboner I don't remember and I'm making soup
>>11490484I'd be more willing to accept the price if he came with some hands, faces, and a flight stand for the chariot. As is, I never felt like it was worth more than $60. Breaker and the RAM was $40, but I guess that was fairly barebones and they ended up reusing that a couple times. I just don't feel like that's an excuse though, as there are plenty of toylines putting out stuff at reasonable prices that never get repainted/reused
>>11490488Mindbender and Chuckles were like 42, arguably worse deals.
>>11490469It just would've been a no-brainer to at least give them all hair-metal redecos of the weapons the original figures came with
>>11490460It's going to be well over $100. Picrel is the black series one and it's $110, I wouldn't be surprised if Cold Slither is $150 or something retarded
>>11490460It'll be $120 minimum. I wouldn't be surprised if it is even more.
>>11489476>I liked how the o-ring version looked more.>>11489533>The 25th set felt far more unique and looked much better as a groupI think the RAH Night Watch had a great paint camo design on their pants and overall looked great. a classic style. and I also liked the 25th version because the shirts made them look darker and unique. they're both cool
>>11490675I'm extremely impressed by the Joefandom who are buying these expensive giant figures and keeping the line going. the price and the space required for them are a lot
>>11490698>6" figures are "giant."What are you, fucking 5 years old, or something?
It weirds me out that people act like this. People treat 1:18 as if they're warhammer miniatures and only take up a fraction of a fraction of the space 1:12 do. Reality is, you're probably only using up half the space if you collect 1:18, but you're probably buying twice as much so you're spending the same amount, and it ends up being a wash anyway.
And the average GI Joe collector, regardless of scale, just stands hundreds of troopers all in rows in the same pose anyway, so what does scale even matter at that point.
I asked ChatGPT to analyze Heavy Duty's weapon rig to see if a human being has any chance of being able to lift it (the straight answer is pretty obvious, but I was still curious). The analysis it gave me was pretty entertaining and it has me wondering if I could design some kind of exo enhancement rig for his legs to give him a better chance.
>>11490460>>11490613I think $100 is reasonable for 4 figures. They might get away with more since some of the accessories are pretty big (namely, the drumkit) which could put at least one of the figures in the "deluxe" pricing range. They might get away with $125 but we'll have to see what they price it at.
Between the Battle of Heroes set and the Cold Slither set I'm gonna be pretty broke after SDCC. I just hope I get in fast enough because knowing my luck one of them will be sold out by the time I make my move.
>>11490728>It weirds me outnow you sound like the child. keeping joes in cabinets, boxes, and regular storage was easier with the small joes. you must be a complete retard if you think boxing up six inch figs or displaying them is the same. and what about the vehicles or playsets? again, try to cool your tits next time before you spaz out
>>11490778If you've got so much shit you need to worry about putting most of it in storage, you've literally made my whole point.
>>11490781>if you want to collect a large assortment of figures you like then you shouldn't get the tall figures>if you want vehicles you shouldn't get the tall figures>uh durrr I make good point and I argue wif uso no shit, you are a fucking retard
Half the shit got delayed this year, I wonder what the logistical problem is. They managed to get the Haslab out early but it's a shipping shitshow.
Meanwhile everything from single figures like Crystal Ball to big-ass shit like the SNAKE Armor had definitive shipping dates but ended up pushed back.
Why even set yourself up for failure like that?
>>11490739>it has me wondering if I could design some kind of exo enhancement rig for his legs to give him a better chance.Attach a rotor to his back to complete his cosplaying as an attack helicopter.
>>11490778I wonder if this anon wouldn't have gotten so mad if you
>>11490728 didn't call him five years old first, he fired back with like three insults
I do think at this point if you collected the original line it would take up more space just due to all the cool giant vehicles, but we're getting there with classified. And I mean displayed not in storage
>>11490876>They managed to get the Haslab out early but it's a shipping shitshowI'm almost assuming they only got like 10% of them in, and just decided to ship them so they wouldn't have these giant things sitting around for a month
>>11490918I think it would have to be more than 10%, I've seen a lot of Canadians who've gotten theirs, and there are plenty in the US so far.
But it's just a weird trend where it seems like they might be prioritizing later orders for some reason because 9 times out of 10 it's a day 1 backer complaining that there's hasn't shown up yet.
>>11490935Yeah I'm day one and it still hasn't shipped
>>11490935based on the HISStank forum posts, and my own experience, I suspect the early backers weren't logged in the same way later ones were. It seems as if every day 1 backer got their order updated to "confirmed July 9th" last week on the 9th, whereas last-minute backers are getting theirs shipped somewhat normally.
So Hasbro might've swapped to some new internal system midway through the Rattler campaign and everyone who ordered before then got shafted and those aren't automated or something.

>>11490912Reminds me of the sad Inspector Gadget-inspired helicopter "vehicle" they gave the GI Joe version of Matt Trakker. That would be perfect addition to Heavy Duty's rig for maximum silly. Either that or a propeller hat.
>>11490728A lot of us actually play with our toys though, and "storage" = your own closet, not some rented warehouse space.
If you want to do cool shit like this, it's not really possible with 1:12, due to how much space it takes up. All this would fit on a single shelf, whereas in 1:12 scale, you can maybe fit 4 due to volume.
On common Ikea furniture like the Kallax, you can split those cube shelves into two with a popular shelf insert, so it suddenly becomes 2 large 10' tall rooms for 1:18 figures. So you effectively have twice the space despite the size difference actually being 50%.
So furniture and storage cases also plays a role in how many figures you can fit in the same amount of space. With a tackle box, you can fit an entire 1:18 army into one. Whereas you'll have trouble putting a squad into the same box, because the box is only 10" wide. You can make two rows of 1:18 figures, while only one row of 1:12 figures. Yeah, there's head space too, but again, that space works out better for smaller figures (16" long = four 1:18 figures, vs two 1:12 figures).
>>11491837It would take me 10 minutes to set up nearly that exact same diorama up with 1:12 figures. I just don't have any paper backgrounds to stick onto the shelf slot I'd use.
But other than that, I have literally all those figures and accessories in one form or another in 6 inches, and they all look better too.
What a terrible example you used.
>>11491837>>11491838Here you go.
Takes up like 40% of the space one level of my 45 dollar shelf from Target.
>>11491837>>11491838Right side up this time.
Only 50% of the shelf.
>>11491838Kinda missing the point.
Yeah, you CAN recreate the same setting with a bigger bookcase, but you can create BIGGER settings for 1:18 with that same bigger bookcase.
I used the Kallax as an example, because it's super common and very easy to visualize due to its grid nature. You can see how easy it is to fill up with 1:12 figures, where just 4 figures inside the same space starts looking crowded. For 1:18 figures, the same space are two 22'x19' conference rooms (instead of a single 15'x13' bedroom with a massive 13' ceiling).
So if you wanted the same amount of space for 1:12 figures, you'd need a book shelve with deepass shelves and now the bookcase takes as much space as a bed. Do you have space for bookcases that big and who even makes bookcases like that?
And i already pointed out how storage boxes affects how much shit you can actually store, because of how storage boxes are actually sized.
On paper, there's only a 50% difference, but due to the nature of how shit is made, there can be a 2x difference.
>>11491886Except people more commonly have regular ass bookshelves that are 3 or 4 feet wide, like 15 inches deep, and 6ish feet tall
Those dumb ass square grid Ikea-style ones are much less common

>>11492007Like i said, if you have a bigger bookcase, you also increase the amount of shit you can do for 1:18. So now you can do this on your shelf, whereas you couldn't for 1:12.
Or you can put two vehicles chasing each other, which would be impossible for 1:12..
And 99% of bookcases aren't 15 inches deep, and not even 3 feet wide. They're like 10 or 11 and rarely get 2 feet wide (hence Kalllax's popularity, since they're bigger and not much more expensive).
And i agree, the square grids are dumb, but they are super common, hence a bazillion clones. And the closer you live to an Ikea, the density of kalax owners increases.
I actually own bookcases that are 18"x28", aka filing cabinets, because i wanted deep bookcases, since it allows me to store my DVDs/books AND also have a decent amount of space for displaying my action figures. Plus, i put oversized artooks that never fit in normal bookcases without sticking out. These bookcases needed their own room because of how much space they take up.

>>11492615I have no less than 6 of the same shelf from target that were 40 dollars each, they are all 2 feet wide, 1 foot deep, and 6 feet tall.
I use plastic risers for display, so when I'm displaying just figures, I can get conservatively 3 alternating rows of 7 or 8 figures.
