What do I need to know? What should I do, what should I avoid?

The silver plastic part that the ratchet connects to has slight mold variations ranging from A1 to A8, with A8 being the newest version. On the A8's, the six little nubs on the connector are the thickest and longest. It grips the ratchet tighter and gives it a stronger lock. There's a noticeable difference in feel between an A8 and earlier molds.

The Japanese players have been talking about it for a couple of months now because they minmax everything they possibly can for tournaments, that's how I learned about it.

1-60 doesn't have any cons. Its shape gives your Bey a chance to escape the over zone and gives anything it's on a crit point. It's one of the top 3 best ratchets in the game. Tyranno Beat is a two-sided blade, it's one of the best users of 1-60 because it throws all of the weight into one side. Every other hit is going to be a crit. 160R is the most effective. most common build TB is seen on in tournament results.

Opposite of meta, what's the most fun combo? Just the thing you slap together for a good time, not essentially to win tournaments.

I think it's only Silver Wolf with such a wide range of molds. However, Scorpio Spear has the same type of ratchet connector, so there might be variations of it too eventually. Mine is only an A1, but I've had it since release, so newer ones might be different. I don't know of any other blades with this kind of connector.

The other anons have given good combos, I've found the extra weight of 5-60 rather than 3-60 on LF gives it an extra kick when it get a solid impact. Pretty much everyone will be at 50 or 60 height for this tournament if not lower, so you need to focus on using the blade as a hammer, rather than a scoop to snipe ratchets, which means aggressive bits, and the extra weight, as small as the difference is, will make yours hit harder and recoil less.
I'd also recommend gear ball as odd as it sounds, it turns shark into a weird high stamina counter defense that plays safe until it recoils and becomes hyper aggressive for a few seconds, like a less stamina hungry gear point. on 9-60 for the burst resistance.

I think Wheel is probably doing a lot of the work though, it seems to fix some of the general CX issues. It gives them more stamina because all the previous ones have trash stamina, and it gives them more weight on the bottom half, which mitigates the top-heaviness.

It looks like there's a design flaw with Flame, though. Two different people have had the plastic part of the blade crack from impact because of how exposed it is on the metal's edge.

I played around with Unicorn 1-60GP and it sometimes makes insane moves, x dashing multiple times and being very hectic. Is this a 1-60 behavior or the GP? I can't seem to consistantly reproduce it. Launching at an angle usually results in a straight line and then resting in the middle while drop launching might have this behavior.

Today was expensive, found all of this in my local Target.

I was actually using Spike for a Mammoth combo that used the tilting to tank hits. It has beaten the likes of Phoenix Wing 9-60/1-60 Rush and Dran Buster combos in tests and in tournaments.
It sounds like Wedge does something completely different.

We still don't have the blue Wizard Arrow with the blue Ball, or the green Knight Lance with the lime green 3-60, but we sure do have re-packagings of the same color Hells Chain and Dran Sword that they've already released in other packs. Re-evaluating this. Ended up taking Hover to a tournament in place of one of my usual attackers and found it wasn't as strong as solo testing was. It hits like a truck, but it's so recoil-prone that it's not consistent enough for me. It's not reliable enough when you need it to be in a tight spot.
