Great layout. Your castle is sick. I'm Happy you have the funds for all those parts and the imagination to come up with it all. What's your build process? Do you 8magine it all and just order parts you think will work, or do you use that digital program to build with first? Pr do you just have an insane collection of parts to pull from at will?

I already had the big Disney castle a couple years ago when I was given another one for my birthday and decided to MOC them together into a huge castle.

I'm an architect so most Lego I can do in my head but sometimes I'll do some sketches and order Bricklink parts if I need them. My Disneyland castle was 2 of the new recolored Florida castles plue 6 BrickLink orders to complete.

Because it was a replication of a real building I just looked at pictures. The biggest challenge with Lego as a medium besides cost is getting the proportions correct for mini figure scale, especially with their limited selection of windows.

Restate my assumptions: One, Mathematics is the language of nature. Two, Everything around us can be represented and understood through numbers. Three: If you graph the numbers of any system, patterns emerge. Therefore, there are patterns everywhere in nature. Evidence: The cycling of disease epidemics;the wax and wane of caribou populations; sun spot cycles; the rise and fall of the Nile. So, what about the legos? The universe of numbers that represents the brick population. Millions of hands at work, billions of minds. A vast network, screaming with life. An organism. A natural organism. My hypothesis: Within the legos, there is a pattern as well... Right in front of me... hiding behind the numbers. Always has been.

Thanks guys. The backside is largely unfinished. The "gatehouse" there is not really a gatehouse, it's just there for the sake of symmetry and just a keep-like tower. The gate will be filled with a rockwall that hides a secret entrance.

I kinda completed the gatehouse and put in mechanisms for the drawbridge and the portcullis. The portcullis has a one way gear, so it doesn't come back down when pulling it up and a quick release button.

Had what?

Here's the interior of the gatehouse. The brown wheel on the left is used to crank up the portcullis. It turns the large gear which turns a small gear that is connected to the axle with the winch. The differently sized gears make the portcullis go up faster. The grey piece with the yellow tile sits on a pin and is the one-way gear stopper. Pressing it down releases the gear and lets the portcullis go down. Primitive, yet effective.
