Look at Dusty, Shipwreck, Torpedo, Quick Kick, Bazooka, new Firefly, Slaughter, Hawk, etc. There are so many "classified" versions of figures that might as well be a retro recreation. And meanwhile, we have retro versions of characters that are so half-assed that they shouldn't have even bothered, like the Cobra Trooper, or are instead cartoon accurate, like Cobra Commander, Cover Girl, and the BAT.

This set is an SDCC exclusive, like Once a Man Cobra Commander, which they are more likely to overproduce because of the drama last year surrounding OAMCC's lack of availability.
It could go either way, but I'm betting they made more Cold Slither sets than they have for SDCC shit in the past (they've gone balls deep marketing this shit for months, too) but the demand will be generally lower and people won't be able to scalp it, it won't ever sell out, and it'll be on sale by December.

In most cases, the Valkyrie neck ball was too small for the ML heads. They do sell replacement neck double-ball joint things of various sizes on ebay that you could use to fix this, but I'm a little paranoid about making semi-permanent alterations
So what I use is this, based on a suggestion I got from here or somewhere else years ago, where you slip one of these things over the Valkyrie neck ball joint, snip it off the excess rubber with scissors, they blast it with a hair dryer until it conforms over the ball joint
With some of the heads in the pictures I had to add 3 layers of that shit, going up a size or whatever each time, but most of the time 1 or 2 layers will do.
And there's basically a lifetime supply in this specific pack that I bought. I've made quite a few unmasked Cobra troopers, and I'd love to make more but I've kind of exhausted the Marvel Legends pool, and I've experimented with Star Wars Black Series, but those heads kind of have a shinier quality that doesn't match the Classified style in the same way that a good ML head does.

And as a side note, my favorite of my valks is this one, using the head from Valeria Richards.
This is the only one where I had to make permanent alterations because the neck ball joint used for that originally figure was shockingly small and the cavity inside the head was so shallow that I had to scrape out a good deal of the inner plastic to make it fit. This was the first one I "completed" and there's probably a simpler way I could've done that, so this one basically is a permanent change more or less.
But that Valeria figure is pretty cheap these days and I've gotten an extra one for posterity's sake.

Am I the only one who doesn't give a remote shit about the Cold Slither push? It's a perfect exclusive, but the eoisode was shit. The whole gag was the Dreadnoks didn't even want to do this and it was that era where Cibra stopped being competent. They're a "heavy metal band" written by Kinder & Bryant who I am 100% sure had never heard a metal song in their lives when they wrote that stuff. But now we get this set, Super7s set, some d-lister metal musicians(couldn't afford anyone with talent, Hasbroke?) doing a shitty album, and a comic. And some cross-branding on the packaging for that failed doll line which is never coming back because "muh shared universe" or something that no Joe fan cares about(does anyone even remember that? I think Breaker was kind of a big deal in the early comics. He kind of dropped off later though. No idea about his role in the cartoons. But he was one of the OG's so not too surprised he has fans.

I agree that Cold Slither is retarded, but the episode is one of the most famous episodes of original cartoon and one of the few that is famous and not because of it being nightmare fuel.

That being said, the costumes are easy to make and you don't run the risk of something that won't sell, since everyone loves all things Dredknocks and not run the risk of pissing people off by making a key character/fan favorite a SDCC figure the bulk of your audience will never own.

You have to remember, his first figure was also an exclusive in the early Classified days with short availability. Making his single release also an exclusive was just a dick move. If they retro card him as an exclusive again, that's just asinine.

Ordered Kibbey Gets canceled bc target employees are hoarders. Now says local target has 4 in stock. Won't let me use pick up or ship/deliver to my house. Do they fucking hate money.

I guess I'll have to start checking my Target to see if they get any Breakers in stock. They have actually been getting GI Joe again recently and they've been selling out pretty quickly compared to before, when they'd get like 20 Roadblock two packs in stock and they'd just sit on the shelf before moving to clearance.

The reason I didn't buy the Tiger Force 2 pack is because I already own Tripwire and the Tiger Force version came with half as much stuff.

I feel like there has to be a retro card Roadblock eventually, and I hope it's sooner rather than later. It literally only has to be a redeco of the Tiger Force version, which is a redeco of Heavy Artillery Roadblock but with the correct weapon. We were almost there just a few years ago but they had to give Heavy Artillery Roadblock that stupid ass Fortnite gatling gun. How hard could it possibly be to crank out some Tiger Force Roadblocks but with the old Heavy Artillery paint job, slap them on cardbacks and call it a day?

I wouldn't exactly call a figure low price if you can't get it for less than $50. Although having said that, the worst offender right now in terms of not being able to get any version of him at anything resembling a decent price is Zartan. He's even more deserving of a reissue than Roadblock but I guess the only way to do it that would make sense would be to bundle him with the Swamp Ski vehicle.

Thought I missed the Cold Slither set since Hasbro Pulse put up a listing in advance with "sold out" status until it opens in two days.

My top convention exclusive want is a box set of Shadow Ninjas. Bonus points if they can make them color change but if not I wouldn't mind if they made them like the Power Rangers Lightning Collection metallic armor figures.

Finally got Tripwire after nearly 2 weeks, guess they're really backed up with Rattler orders. Always wondered why I wasn't quite satisfied with the TF version, and now I realize that they left out the neck guard on that one. The rat's great too
