This happens to every copy of the set, without fail. Even the opaque ones like the Hasbro Dark Saber. It's an engineering problem, the pommel post is too short which allows it to easily lever and crack the port, and the walls of Jetter's thrusters are too thin which causes those to crack too. Later copies of the set were retooled with a longer pommel post which helps a bit, but not much. Mainly just keeps the blade from falling out WHEN the pommel cracks.
Funnily enough the only copy that doesn't have major issues is the Kabaya version because it was shot from completely different tools and the minor differences are enough to prevent breakage, but also it feels like a cheap knockoff. And that's the set these new ones are most suited to replace as the opaque white deco.

Welp, got 4/6 Devastator parts and issues have finally cropped up:

-No ratchet on the arm, so it can't support the weight fully extended.

Not sure if we're talking about the same thing but on mine the problem was the "U" clear plastic part that connects the hilt to Sonar, pic related. Seems like it was pinned barely off center in such a way that in flexed when transforming and when leaving it at the back of the robot mode. I have the Energon Saber too and on that one there's enough space for it to move around easily and no pressure in any position, so it's still in one piece.

Also the handle peg on the gun is very short and yet the hole in the hand is so fucking shallow the handle still dosent go all the way in. Very strange. Super Ginrai already is very heavy by itself. With Bomber on, he is a brick. The rachet joints barely holding on to the additional weight. It is not that the individual part of a joint is breaking up, it is more like the plastics as a whole are being bent.

I'm not sure how you would engineer it, but a bit of forward backward movement for Devastator's feet would have made balancing him a bit easier, he's stable in straight leg poses, but if you try to bend his knees too much he does seem like he would fall backwards due to the backpack.

Still this is the first time I've had an opportunity to get a big Hasbro G1 Devastator and this one is not obnoxiously huge compared to every other figure like the Combiner Wars version is. I also really like this Devastator's shade of green. This set also has pretty nice individual robot modes if I don't want to display them as Devastator all the time.

He's fun, especially if you have some other Junkions/Weaponizers/Fossilizers to mix him up with.
I prefer to fanmode him as an angry Junkasaurus instead of using his actual robot mode, though. Incidentally, you'll be able to do the exact same thing with Wreck-Gar, since there's no new parts or transformation scheme.

its commercial grade software so it's pretty expensive but you can pirate it in some places. There's also a program called Plasticity that I've been wanting to play with that's pretty cheap and supposed to be easy to get into, and it can do assemblies too.
