The next set from my collection of Lego classics is a 1999 walking machine with a drill, from the Rock Raiders series. 4940 The Granite Grinder consists of 109 elements and 1 minifig. The construction of the machine is like a mech with a large cabin, engines placed at the back, a large drill at the front, and everything can move thanks to two legs that can be moved alternately. The figure is a good-looking miner. The colors are typical for the series, i.e. dark and light gray, brown, yellow and turquoise. The whole is complemented by well-chosen elements with a print, plus equipment that is mounted in several places on the machine. A play set, characteristic for its construction and elements. Worth recommending to collectors of classics and fans of the entire Rock Raiders series, which, despite the weak end of the 90s for Lego, is really interesting.

star wars became too stylized after 2008 and stopped being lego star wars and became star wars lego
harry potter had a awkward phase for a while where the minifigs looked really jank but the 2018 reboot captured a little bit of the soul of the og 2001- 2003 sets, which is not being 100% based on the movies and having more creative liberty with the sets
the 2024 re-reboot also seems to be going even further in this direction

Qman's standard pieces are alright but Mixel balljoint sockets fucking crack worse than Lego's to the point where entire chunks of them would come off.

Bluebrixx was surprisingly solid, brick-wise, except, as usual, the Mixel sockets. However, my Mad Max V8 Interceptor was missing two 2x4 plates and the Galactica Viper had two different types of light saber hilt pieces.
Some connections were also flat out retarded and "somehow put it on and NEVER EVER TOUCH IT AGAIN"-tier.

Xingbao was some 2.99 unicorn for my sister and the quality was meh. Worst part was the flowers it was holding which also neatly showed one of the biggest issues with Chink-brands: almost everything is made out of ABS, even parts that shouldn't like the stems and petals of the set which simply didn't fit together because the original Lego version made of soft materials was designed with the stem being squeezed into the petal-hole in mind - good luck doing that with solid ABS.
You were also supposed to put one of pic-related on the stud of the stem piece which isn't even physically possible due to the geometry of the parts.

Waiting on a few orders of those 1x1 bricks with studs on all my sides to start my 'gate. The plan is to have 39 of them linked with long soft plastic tubes to form the inner ring, then work outwards from there. Discussing some bionicle what ifs in their thread because its fun, but something I find a real shame is that we never got a recolor of Lewa’s axe in any system set, looks pretty good but unweildy for most builds I guess, also no proper pickaxe being made for weird mining vehicles

In terms of sets? I think they're pretty decent overall and with how many themes Ninjago has consoomed over the years, there's also quite a range to choose from, up to and including pretty massive and pricey Ninjago City sets.
In terms of story? I could be biased, but overall, if we take all seasons together, then not too much if you're an adult and haven't grown up with it. Much of the content in the show feels so kiddie-like and the plot development tends to be so blatantly obvious that I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have made it without playing at higher speeds most of the time and forwarding by 5-10 seconds pretty often. It has some good quips and jokes here and there that made me laugh a bit, I'll give it that.
At the same time the quality varies by season and, like I said before, the newest seasons consistently seem to try a bit harder when it comes to writing, possibly not enough if you have triple digit IQ, but at the very least I don't recall wanting to blow my brains out while watching them, which is something compared to eg. season 11. Dragons Rising overall is a second and much more comprehensive soft reboot so theoretically you could also go through summaries for seasons 1-15 and start there without that much loss.

The characters' personalities got completely raped and nobody know what was up with the fucking sharks.
