Payment links have been taking a couple of days longer than usual, but they have a notice on their homepage about shipping delays due to them being at full capacity with Japan Post because of the suspension of DHL shipping to USA. HLJ is also taking ages to ship from when payment is sent, so I think it is just that Japan Post is totally overwhelmed right now. I haven't shipped anything from Mandarake or Genki to see if they are slower than usual.

It's a recolor of a figure that was released back in 2020, but this one comes with a big ass throne. He has just as much detail as Mihawk and much more plastic used overall in making him yet still comes out costing less. I don't think whether it's a new sculpt matters? Egghead Luffy is a brand new sculpt and costs $35 just like the other Luffy's

You realise the amount of plastic used doesn't mean shit. Using a mold you've already made your money back on is free real estate. I'm only guessing, but the throne looks like it will be hollow and doesn't require HPIM like a figure would, or need assembly. It has the illusion of added value because it is big.

Economies of scale also matter in this scenario, so comparing a main character that they will sell 50,000 units vs a b-lister they will sell 10,000 units is a false equivalency. Not to mention that they will probably reissue Luffy a few more times until the molds wear out if the demand is there.
And we already know they often treat main characters as loss leaders to lure people into the line.

Why bandai still releasing them? It's literally same design with zero chest/abs articulation over and over again and price keeps going up and up. There's no way people actually buying them enough to make it 9 shf in just over a year. Even JJK had more unique designs with overall black/dark blue uniforms. Most toys like this are seen as promotional products for the show and manga, so probably whilst it’s airing they make them as part of that advertising/merchandising campaign, not really based on how popular the figure line is with collectors. Buying S.H.Figuarts today is a gamble of scam.

Ive had 1 defected figure and it was Chainsawman Power. Her hip peg is fully stuck so she cannot do the splits. Its like the fuckers put in glue there. I have even open up her leg fully and could not fix the her. Its super glued to the hip.
