This is one of the best things Hasbro has put out in recent years.
>>11510091The animals are the best part of the classified line IMO, no one else is offering anything like them.
>>11510091Any old Joes that had a giant Praying Matins or giant Spiders?
When they said it'll be three years minimum before Haslab stuff is reused, they meant the vehicles right, not the figures as well?
>>11510236I would assume so, since I think the time between Mickey Mouse CC and Retro CC was less than a year.
They have also reused parts/weapons of the Hiss Gunner for other figures so there's no exclusivity to specific pieces of figures, it seems
And the Dragonfly Haslab figures reused a lot of previously released mass market parts too
>>11510244IIRC, Retro Scarlet was reveled before the Dragonfly, with Glenda, even shipped out. So the reuse seems to lie specifically with the vehicles and not the figures.
>>11510263ripcord also comes with a lot of the same shit as the deluxe paratrooper
I finally opened Sergeant Breakfast.
>>11510307I'll never understand people who go through life with unopened figures sitting around their house
It's one thing if you're a MoC autist, but whenever I see someone being like
>I finally opened my Dragonfly and it's great! It just weirds me out
>>11510344I'm too lazy to clean.
I don't have space.
I bought toy specifically for a display i want to make, but don't have the other piece/part/toolazytosetup.
Don't want to just place it into a box right away, because it's too cool to hide.
I'm too lazy to clean.
Current shelf spaces too cool to break down.
I'm too lazy to clean.
Need a new storage box because figure requires special storage condition
I placed it in a corner and forgot it existed.
I'm too lazy to clean.
pic kinda outdated. I've since opened Firefly, but Constantine still in box, because I don't have anywhere for him to shine. The Legend of Galactic Heroes spaceships are forever gonna be in their box, or until i get my lazyass to paint up some spaceship models i bought to display them with.... i also have a giant backlog of models, including gunpla.
>>11510364How does not wanting to clean matter?
Or do you mean to dust off your displayed figures like every two weeks
>>11510373>every two weeksooof... you don't know how lazy I am. Maybe every 6 months.
I don't clean my shelves if i constantly move shit in and out though, since dust can't build up, but even those need to be cleaned once a year.
And i have really deep shelves (16"), so there's usually books in the back, so the books need to come out to get dusted, which requires moving everything in front too.
See pic for example. Every month or so i need to insert more paper or more ink, so everything in front NEEDS to go. Perfect time to swap out the display for new toys... or the old shit goes back, and any new shit i have laying around doesn't have a chance to be propped up.
And by cleaning, i also mean organizing, which can also apply to the books/dvds/bds/games in the back. Finding where to put a toy for storage can be a chore, especially since it means moving boxes around in my closets. So i might leave shit up just because i don't want to take out Figma box that hasn't been touched in 2 years, thus under 4 other boxes.
>>11510401I'm going to start spending hundreds of dollars to try out shelves with glass doors because I hate dusting so much, but it's still not THAT much of an issue
>>11510402i have 15 shelf... furnitures. Not everything is cleaned or used equally, so there's varying priorities and me noticing that shit needs to be cleaned.
It's a lot to keep track of or not to keep track of.
And if you're constantly buying shit, you tend to lose track of your purchases, so things tend to go into a corner somewhere until you can actually enjoy it, INSTEAD of just opening the packaging forgotting you bought it.
So if i open the toy a year later , what's it matter, as long as i enjoy it?
I'm not someone who likes delayed gratification nor seek it out, but it just happens. I tend to buy shit, because i know that shit will become harder to buy in the future. So i'm constantly buying shit, which makes me a bit of a hoarder.
I mean, i bought the first A Game of Thrones sometime in the early 00s, so the cover has generic KNIGHT ON HORSE fantasy art on it, but i didn't begin reading it until there were rumors that it was picked up by HBO... and had already bought the sequel books when the covers for those changed to the house emblems too. Of course, i tend to do quick reads of the first book before buying sequels.
And why not read right away? Because I'm fucking busy, which makes me lazy when shit doesn't need to get done right away. Hence not wanting to clean shit either. Let me be lazy, man.... which i say, while procrastinating from work on 4chan.
>>11510344Sometimes I just like opening up things and I'm not constantly spending money so sometimes I save things for later
You shouldn't care enough to comment
>>11510419>You shouldn't care enough to commentit's tuesday night, man
I got time on my hands and I can only buy so many power rangers figures on clearance just for the unmasked female heads because only like 4 of the 20 that exist look any good
Is this from anything (comics, references to older figs) or is it an OC? I'm not that up to date on Joe lore, but I thinking of putting this guy as OC New Republic trooper stand-in
>>11510449That's Sci-Fi, who first came out in 1986. When they did the 30th Anniversary line they gave him an extra head with a fully-enclosed mask, similar to that one there.
>>11510462Bro's name "Sci-Fi"?
>>11510469short for sciid & fiid
>>11510469Yeah. He's a geek into science fiction and has a high tech laser as his weapon
>>11510596Flash was the other laser specialist. It's funny that they had these characters and then the cartoon just made everyone shoot lasers because it was a kids show. In the cartoon everyone was also a fighter pilot and underwater fighting man and what not. It didn't really care about specializations.
Also funny that lasers are considered less "violent" than normal guns. In real life if you killed someone with a weapons grade laser it would be grim. Similar effects to using a flame thrower which I think is considered a war crime nowadays. Even Nazis tried to get it banned because they thought it was inhumane.
>>11510449I think the only OC in Classified so far is Wolf Spider and the upcoming Ghost Viper. Everything else are preexisting characters.
>>11510802This is why Mole Rat is still in stock
>>11510344Its a lack of display space for me. Ive had a figure i havent opened in 8 years BUT there is a reason behind it. Having boxes of unopened stuff has really helped curb my collecting itch. Very few of my figures are unopened for any potential value reason, its honestly space or in some cases like wwe, i prefer them in their boxe for some reason.
>>11510823Hes pretty ok, closest we have to a monster so far and i like that old horror movie my bloddy valentine. So its fits a specific taste i guess.
>>11510802Wolf spider is dope. I really like him.
>>11510802there's also the mole rats, but there have been zombie cobra trooper types in the past
the ferret driver and cobra airwoman are also new
and if you want to be pedantic female cobra troopers were never called "valkyries" before, but they did make lady trooper figures in the past
Mad Marauders Sgt. Slaughter is $17 on BBTS
Huh, Scorpion is only $44 on Walmart but $46 everywhere else
>>11510855Ironic that Sarge would call everyone maggot only to become one himself in real life. I'd wandered why his first figure eneded up at Ollie's thought for sure he'd sell out everywhere, then I found out about his irl self.
the retro troopers are a little bit underpriced right now so I bought two more and did this to one I already had.
Bit of a work in progress but the extra skull head from the Fist Ninja Marvel Legends fits pretty well on the neck ball joint, no alterations needed, and the helmet is about as snug as it is on the regular trooper's head
Without the web gear the body also looks considerable slimmer which I think works for a potentially fully skeletal or generally decomposed body
>>11511017Isn't there gonna be a Monster Force zombie that's just a rip off of the Cobra Trooper design
I mean, nothing wrong with making your own and those are vaporware units released so
>>11511069I only vaguely know what Monster Force figures exist, but I also have autism about cross-brand shit. I use do use a lot of Marvel Legends shit when I do Classified kitbashes but I feel like that's exempt because it's the same company.
Plus, aren't those Monster Force figures supposed to be like 40 bucks each or whatever?
I was captured by the hobby of kitbashing mostly because of how many female MLs had really face sculpts and were also huge peg-warmers and thus cheap.
>>11511075On one hand, they're exclusively made to go with Classifed figures, so it arguably works better than Marvel Legends
On the other hand... yeah. They're $37.99. So yeah. They might be $30 if they didn't have so much paint on them, but try saying that trade off is worth it to a toy collector.
>>11511084have any of these actually come out?
they seem like hiya figures where people just post the same promo shots and renders every time
>>11511084It's interesting that these went from $35 to $37, and Hasbros deluxes are going from $44 to $47, but Super7, who has to be bigger than Big Bad Work Shop and making things with less joints and less paint, went from $55 to $64
I'm sure this isn't actually comparable at all
>>11511093Only the first wave. I got the Heavy Weapons Gas Mask Nazi.
It's JUST a Classifed figure with a backpack you can customize. Which is all I wanted out of it
>>11511100This is what I mean by these things having a ton of paint on them, you can only see what color the leg plastic really is on the knee articulation cut
Retro Flint in stock at bbts.
>>11510307He's solid, wish he was a little more than just a retro Duke repaint though.
>>11511084I am excited for the two girls they showed off at SDCC, they aren't Baroness (kill me), but the prototypes looked cool.
>>11511155Was this posted in the threads before? I only recall them showing off the goofy Bigfoot
>>11511158There's one with a lesbian haircut just like all these lines make and a skeleton thats proportioned like a real skeleton and not whatever the fuck Mystic League or whatever its called does
>>11511164Mythic Legions, you uncultured twat.
>>11511155Why does she look like Rosario Dawson
>>11511168I'm not complaining, but like is it supposed to be her or just "inspired"?
>>11511155I feel like this line should have more monsters
But I guess it has a lot
>>11511158I definitely shared these from a different con a month or two ago.
>>11511182Here's the other prototypes from that one as well since you missed it. I am looking forward to 6" eagle force figures.
>>11511183Oh right
I thought these were lizard men but they were from a black and white comic
More birds in this scale is good
Only the skeleton was shown off at comic con as a reveal I think
>>11511191The proportions are better than Mythic Legions but that means you can break it accidentally a lot easier
>>11511191>>11511193Aren't those just the Fwoosh skeletons?
>>11511183A couple more women planned but don't have prototypes yet.
Starting to wonder if these things are out of limbo yet because they have a lot of wave 3 production samples but wave 2 isn't out yet
>>11511198If they are then I apologize I don't know what that is
I'm gonna steal this vest and gun for one if my Joes. Also I'll stop posting these sorry for the spam
>>11511193>>11511200>>11511201I wish classified would do more wacky stuff like this
>>11511187I dont know about the comic, but it was a whole line of discount Joe toys in the 80s. I know I had a few.
>>11511202Battle nun with vagina bones is funny
Wonder if she'll have cross weapons
>>11511204They kind of are! Remember we're getting giant mutant scorpions, zombies with rock growths, and fear gas monsters with green fart dogs
>>11511204they made Crystal Ball into an actual wizard and now there's Vipers who can summon ectoplasmic animals or whatever. Plus giant mutant scorpions. And they're really hammering down on Cobra-La stuff.
We're getting there.
>>11511084That price tag is the only thing keeping me from going hard on these guys. I would LOVE to build up a Red Shadows faction out of em because I've always been a fan of the idea of multiple evil organizations existing for the Joe team to combat. As is, my Joes will be dealing with Cobra, MARS Industries/Iron Grenediers, Hydra and Aim and a random assortment of Fortnite and Star Wars goons.
>They might be $30 if they didn't have so much paint on them, but try saying that trade off is worth it to a toy collector. As someone with an extensive collection of Mythic Legions Legion Builders, many who were bought for less then $20 a pop, I would absolutely be willing to make that trade off. Get one or two highly detailed main characters and fill the background ranks with cheap fodder figures.
>>11511213Yeah, I've passed on most of the troop builders because of the price. I have all the named guy stand ins preordered though. Hope they don't all drop at once.
>>11511215When Wave 1 hit it was the full wave, so I think that's all you'll have to worry about
Speaking of troop builders. Imagine if they dropped this guy at a lower than classified price.
>>11510401>>11510416If we talk about figures of Robots, androids and Cyborgs, the K-Tron is the David of Michelangelo of all
>>11511222I don't mind having to headswap the first two to get proper Red Shadow leaders, but putting that helmet with the zombie werewolf is kind of fucked. No way to make him really fit in with the line. The non zombie ones come with proper redshadow trooper heads too.
>>11511155>>11511182Oh snap, those are news to me.....does that bib boobed lesbian have a sword?
>>11511172It does when you really think about it, but they're all "Monsters" in that they're just people with funny heads. Zombies, Wolfmen, Vampires, Invisible Man some sort of Goblin dude, Frankenstein etc etc. Nothing really too off the wall, outside of the Veteran Williams reuse and the new Sasquatch with the stink face.
>>11511198That's not the Fwoosh Skeleton because it doesn't look like shit. Closer to a Bossfight one, but probably an original mold.
>>11511200I really hope that hood is soft goods, cause she's an instant buy from me. Getting some really strong Armitage III vibes from her, may have to track down a tiny red leather jacket.
>>11511203No need to apologize for encouraging actual discussion about cool upcoming toylines. I know I personally appreciate the pics and info.
>>11511225I mean if you're getting the first two anyway you'll have a normal extra head
>>11511226>Sasquatch with the stink faceI'm so fucking conflicted about that because otherwise it's a home run figure
>>11511222one thing I like about what they're doing is how all the face portraits for their figures are someone recognizable, either a different character so you can make good stand ins, or straight up real life actor portraits. Pretty sure they have all the Bonds done on one figure or another. Get a bunch of suit bodies together and you can have them all. Eyepatches and goatees not withstanding.
>>11511228Yeah, but the zombie trooper doesn't have normal or gloved hands, and has that weird rotting battle damage all over him.
>>11511225I wish more lines would flirt with being sued when they don't own the copywrite like this though. It's fun.
It means you have to spend more which isn't fun but I don't mind the attempt.
>>11511232Each figure comes with so many extra hands that's not an issue unless you wanted everyone to be holding a gun. This is one of those things where if I say "maybe if they had less hands they'd cost less" and people would rightfully get mad because it's less options.
But you're right about the battle damage. I guess you could take a red gundam marker to it and a blood effect and just have it being a grunt being shot
>>11511231I love that too
I ordered the multipack because I wanted the HP Lovecraft head (I wanted everyone in that wave anyway though) so they should give us more random heads of people we know. I'd love a Clint Eastwood
I got action force Eclipse off ebay on a whim because it was under 50 dollars and I've always been mildly curious about the figures.
It seem like they kind of suck. If they were the same price as the average Classified figure and readily available anywhere, it would be one thing, but as it is the only thing I like is the weapons.
>>11511238The whole Lovecraft head thing has soured me a bit on this line. It was originaly shown coming with the cthulu guy, but they took it out and put it in that all in one pack instead. I've also noticed that when showing off their general figure prototype they only show three of his head at conventions. Never the Generall Flagg one. Makes me wonder if it got cut too. I think the final product on a lot of these is going to be a lot less than what the renders show, both in amount of accessories and over all quality and detail.
>>11511226>No need to apologize for encouraging actual discussion about toysThat's good. Also I guess it does say Military General in the OP
I wont go hog wild but I will say it looks like they fixed the fat neck of the MIB agent that shows up on the BBTS page
https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/254920
>>11511241I was hoping Classified would eventually do some kind of G-Man figure in a black suit and tie for the anniversary line, and it would be just like that where you'd have a white head and black head and you could pretend they were Agent K and J.
>>11511240>general figure prototype they only show three of his head at conventions. Never the Generall Flagg one. It's not removed from the BBTS page yet, so that's strange isn't it
Is there any way to ask them?
>>11511198Those are not Fwoosh Skeletons.
>>11511240They didn't have the HP Lovecraft head or any of these
>>11511222 at the convention either
Maybe Comic Con is too high profile for these "toys of things we don't have the rights for"
>>11511243I really do hope they do rip off J and K heads later
Crimson Moon is the Red Shadow Line right? Anyone know who these guys are supposed to be?
>>11511251yeah that black guy looks more like when Samuel L Jackson was Shaft, though the white guy does kind of look like when Josh Brolin played young K in MIB3
>>11511240The lovecraft bait and switch sucked, but you're wrong about the General heads. They had all four out at Joefest. I am concerned how lanky the body is. The heads look too big for it, and it looks too small to fit in with classified stuff.
>>11511164Spoken like someone who doesn't have a buff skeleton
>>11511260Then maybe it is
>>11511248Although I think they look fine, but I was gonna use this for a Hulk display
>>11511263I mean yeah, that's clearly a Thunderbolt Ross head, to go along with the General Flagg, Joe Colton, and Mac from Night Court heads. You can have the same figure in multiple displays.
>>11511247I get that pricing for figures has less to do with plastic and more to do with paint and how many steel molds it takes... but if these are gonna be $38...
>>11511257Don't look like any of these expect Destro.
Hey isn't it strange there's two companies making toys of these?
>>11511225I would just sell it for a few bucks under retail while keeping the helmet
>>11511240>I think the final product on a lot of these is going to be a lot less than what the renders show, both in amount of accessories and over all quality and detail.https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/251655
The funny thing is the brain man seems to be the complete opposite of your worry, because his render doesn't have the suitcase or the blast effects
>>11511328The gas canisters on the mask being removable but having a molded in knife seems like strange priorities
>>11511266Well I'm only buying one!
Surely Hasbro will make the other two eventually
>>11511218I think their SoF line is really boring visually but I know it's appealing to like Action Force buyers
>>11511202Oh fuck yeah, this is as close to a Adepta Sororitas in 1/12th as I'm gonna get, I'll take it.
>>11511247>>11511226>That's not the Fwoosh Skeleton because it doesn't look like shit. Closer to a Bossfight one, but probably an original mold.If it's not the Fwoosh mold then they sure as hell cribbed their homework.
>>11511200>>11511202Just been looking for these and I can't find them, where did you get those images?
>>11511439I don't know how much you can copy homework for figuring out how to articulate a skeleton and make it look angry
>>11511439>>11511452That's gotta be the same mold, it's got the thick ribs, fat wrists, and same cracks in the skull. Maybe Fwoosh just sold it to them
>>11511460>Maybe Fwoosh just sold it to themWouldn't be the first time something like that happened.
>>11511447bigbadworkshop facebook page
>>11511439Oh yea no, I stand corrected, those are most certainly the shitty Fwoosh skeletons.
I didn't see
>>11511247 earlier, but in a solid color with a clear picture, it's far more obvious. But even in
>>11511193, which I did see, but honestly didn't look too closely at, that skeleton even has the same awful weapons as the original Fwoosh piece of junk.
And just to be clear, I'm not one of those to go hating on Fwoosh just because they're Fwoosh. I actually liked their Ninja figures and thought their samurai were really well done. But those skeletons were just dreadful, just felt bad in the hand, had awkward joints, strange proportions and just was not fun to mess with. With how many other options we have these days, their figures were a step above random halloween decoration crap you'd see at the drug store.
Cold Slither set arrived today. Haven't opened it yet, though, worked late and was tired.
>>11511541>ear, I'm not one of those to go hating on Fwoosh just because they're Fwoosh. I actually liked their Ninjadidn't those shelf warm real bad?
>>11510982I wish I had an Ollie's around here, I bought two of those for my nephews and I ended up paying nearly $40 for each of them.
Oof, 1 month and still not funded. It's a bust Joes. At this point, it's not going to be worth it if all the tiers don't get unlocked. Best to scrap this and try with a Mauler next year with better tier unlocks and maybe a moare scantilly clad female fig like DF and Rattler had. Even HISS lady driver hand some trunk space.
>>11512058Fuck that, Joecels had their chance. They blew it. See you in two years.
Next year is Cobra's time to shine once again and get a fully funded, all-tiers-unlocked Moray or whatever.
>>11512105If they're gonna make a Moray Haslab, it better be less than $200 and come with fire bikini Baroness.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HI8FMYnJnvA
>>11512121They won't launch a haslab for a $200 item.
>>11512121It will be 400 dollars, it will have bikini Baroness, and it will fully fund.
>>11512058I think it probably could make it further, but I fear as the days go by, more people will probably back out since they'll be expecting it won't hit all the stretch goals, kind of becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy...
>>11512058Itโll fund. All the tiers may not be happening though. Hopefully this teaches them itโs time to start making more small retail vehicles instead of giant shelf queens.
>>11512146I think it'll fund to the base level, but that's it
by this point all the past ones were already funded with one or two tiers met.
I'm not even sure why the Snow Cat is doing THIS badly, I can see why it would do worse but this much worse is actually surprising. I guess it's just a combination of all the little things that make it lame, like the snow theme being too niche with barely any past releases to supplement it, nobody gives a shit about the gay cookout playset items, the stretch goal figures are both rereleased characters and in those outfits they won't be as dynamic as the past ones, "I live in Canada" Lady Jaye is trash compared to Sexual Pilot Baroness, Flint sucks in general like during that episode where Cobra BTFO'd Mercer and held him at gunpoint and Flint had to give up like a cuck as CC flew away in a Rattler laughing at him, etc.
>>11512165I think it'll fund, maybe even get Lady Jaye, but I don't know if it'll get much further than that. The beginning and the end are always the biggest jumps.
I still do think it is possible it fully funds. Maybe it can meet the main goal, it could still jump another 4k-6k.
>>11512177the jumps at the end of these things are motivated in part by a desire to get them over the top and unlock the final thing, then that surge is followed by then last minute fomo surge which caused in large by the thing now being fully funded, along with scalpers and some outlets buying extras
This thing has had such bad organic growth that a potential surge would also probably be fairly middling in the long run, people just don't really want this as much
And it's not like it's bad, I'd say it's better than the Dragonfly because all the Dragonfly figures look like total ass and 3/4 of them will probably get rereleased eventually, and the secret to all these Haslabs is that ultimately the figures matter most because half the people who back them end up or will end up putting the vehicle back in its box and sticking it in a closet somewhere to conserve shelf space
>>11511257Dalton looks like a classic not-Blade.
The Face is an old comic character who is public domain.
Spectre is a not-Edgar Allen Poe
Van Helsing is just that.
Commander is a not-Red Skull
>>11512121I think a divesuit Baroness from "Spell of the Siren" is more likely, especially with that short "I THINK THIS IS COOL BECAUSE IT LOOKS COOL" brand manager for GI Joe who might get triggered if Baroness is too attractive.
Anothe possibility is "Countdown to Doomsday" Lady Jaye dressed up as the Baroness, in which she uses the hydrofoil to sneak in to a Cobra base.
>>11512361Your pic related is probably more likely.
They could turn that around into a generic female Eel for a later release.
It would be stupid if they didn't do that.
bait and switch alert. BAttle armor CC is all swirly unpainted grey plastic, not the silver paint the renders and prototype showed. https://youtu.be/nWpl9faoMs0?si=w8X5cQRbPuo99DHW&t=511
>>11512364>It would be stupid if they didn't do that. They throw money away a lot with Haslab exclusives, and they don't give a shit. They're perfectly happy with NOT re-using molds for low-production items to make more just so they can protect the scalpers.
>>11512374>buy a new toy>also gotta order some Tamiya paint to make it look right.
>>11512374You seriously thought this was painted silver? Are you retarded?
>>11512379You're right, they should've done shit like Crimson/Python Patrol Valkyries and winter Cobra troopers and shit like that, which would basically cost them nothing to produce but sell decently because troop builders almost always do.
But then again they don't even double-pack the fucking troop builders in the first place, it's psychotic.
>>11512165>i don't understand how an environment specific vehicle isn't doing as well as all purpose, neutral colored, vehiclesare you female, by chance?
>>11512399They've been losing money for years, have done layoffs, and they just don't fucking get it: SELL WHAT THE CUSTOMERS ARE TRYING TO THROW THEIR FUCKING MONEY AT YOU FOR! Don't lock it away in a warehouse and say "nah!"
Plus economies of scale: the more they produce of something, the cheaper the per-unit cost becomes to produce. So it's just more profitable to re-use molds with color variations and stuff.
>>11512393They could easily make a comic book variant of that being Fred VIII, the Crimson Guard who disguised himself as the now-deceased Cobra Commander, and Baroness (the only Cobra to see CC's face) vouches for him so she cuold use him as a puppet against Serpentor.
>>11512400Learn to read, faggot.
I said I thought it was strange that it was doing this badly, not badly in general.
I have no interest in it, but I also thought the Dragonfly was gay and didn't back that either and it did fine as an ugly helicopter with a bunch of Literally Who characters as the bonuses.
>>11512400Almost everyone who buys this thing is going to put it on a shelf with literally every other toy from this line. No one is getting it to go outside in December, lay on their stomach and kick their feet in the air while rolling the Cat back and forth making vrooming noises like an 8 year old.
The biggest complaint levied against the Cat right now is that there aren't enough snow-themed Joes yet, which is one of the dumbest reasons ever, unless you are literally expecting the Classified line to come to an end the hour the Cat funding ended or something. Like they'll never, ever release any snow themed figures in the future.
Got my replacement Roadpig and Rawkus in- was worried Hasbro wouldn't accept the return (especially as I issued it a few months after purchase and didn't have the packaging anymore) but they were actually really good about it. Annoyingly, Rawkus had the exact same stuck back knee as the previous one- but this time I was able to unstick it with boiling water, which failed on the first one. So now I have a fully mobile emotional support dog to go with my giant retard.
Great set in any case; I love how many options you have for display and how all of them make him look simultaneously terrifying and hilarious.
>>11512427Honestly their best chance for making the most out of it is to release a Tiger Force version, Cobra Basilisk, and Havok Mk. II versions at mass retail.

Speaking of scale, not that I particularly mind as I'm not a scalefag but how tall is Zaranna supposed to be? She's almost a head taller than Cammy here, by 1/12 scale she's over 6 foot! Not that I'm complaining mind, just interesting to note. (Figma Ika Musume is only included because she was the closest one to hand and more scale references are always good.)

As always, but particularly since it's topical, I recommend ARAH #34, as it's a standalone story and it's very action-heavy and character-focused in terms of Ace and Wild Weasel.
Plus it portrays Lady Jaye and Baroness as being annoying nags while the men are doing something important, which is hilarious.

>>11512812108 and change, USD. Rattler Baroness?
>>11512816The three year thing definitely doesn't apply to the figures. They rereleased Retro CC within a year of the Hiss Tank shipping.

>>11512816I'm on the precipice already, you don't need to keep pushing.

>>11512820It still doesn't mean it won't not take three years
But during the HISS campaign they very explicitly said a normal CC would be released later, so it was pretty much going to be produced no matter what even if it failed, so not the best example for this
>>11512812 guy
>>11512829And they've also basically shown that they'll do that with the Rattler Baroness since the costume is a wholly original coloration of this specific look, rather than some pure flight-suit design.

Dat gloss isn't a mirrorshine, but it sure looks like it. Since it's rubbery, i assume it'll degrade within the next decade. Can you believe the movie is almost a decade old?
>>11512436>No one is getting it to go outside in December, lay on their stomach and kick their feet in the air while rolling the Cat back and forth making vrooming noises like an 8 year old.Well they should, it's actually a lot of fun.

>>11513144There's no other K-Tron and joints getting stuck is entirely an anecdotal matter.
I opened 2 figures and they had no problems. If yours gets stuck, just using a hot water+freezer method will unstick anything. Keep repeating until unstuck.
The armor are form fitting rubber, which might add to the stuckness, but again, i have no problem on the two i opened 7 years later (it's been about a year since i stored mine away).
i wish i bought as many as this guy.
>>11512832She wore the helmet in Revenge of Cobra, and they took creative license with a pilot suit for her since her whole body was not shown in that bit, and only from the shoulders up with her piloting the Rattler.
They could reissue the figure in gloss black, and it'd sell out in an instant. Or they could sell it in a lighter shade of blue like your pic, which judging by the Super7 sales probably wouldn't do as well. Either way I think they should make a real effort to reissue that figure, and not years from now.
>>11513487>judging by the Super7 sales probably wouldn't do as wellYeah retarded price and shit quality had nothing to do with that, it was definitely the color choice
>>11513491There are dipshits out there right now paying $150+ for this classified pilot version of Baroness on Ebay.
The first version of the Baroness is just the ugliest. The character herself was pretty much a last-minute creation by the comic book writers because Hasbro in its first year only had generic Cobra troops and officers, and Baroness was created to be someone disctinct for Cobra Commander to talk to and work on evil plots with. Her first outfit was cheap and generic because of it. When Hasbro assumed the role of designing her outfit, they quickly changed it to ehr cionic black battlesuit.
>>11513498I still haven't gotten my Rattler and that's a big reason why I spent 65 dollars to get a Rattler Gunner off ebay.
I did always intend to get a spare one to display with the black guy head (and the helmet covering it) but it would've been smarter to wait until I had the one I already bought just in case in ended up being total shit, and because it'll probably be going for more like 45 dollars by next year.
But the figure is great, so that's nice.
I was spamming the checkout button on Hasbro Pulse literally seconds after the Cold Slither set went live and it sold out while I was checking out. I was camping out on the website for literally an hour waiting for the preorder button to go live and now I'm SOL.
Again, someone remind me what is the point of Pulse Premium's early bird offers when a bunch of script kiddies are going to crash the website and make sure I won't get one?
>>11513634Yeah I didnโt get it either. I donโt really know why these arenโt open preorders.
>>11513634I'm on mobile at work and I got the Savage Land set, but the site fucked up and ordered two for me when I only put one in my cart
This happened last year with OnceAManCorncobCommander but I canceled it cause I didn't have the funds for two at the time
The sites just bad
>>11513638Apparently a bunch of scalpers with scripts and eBay storefronts rigged the website with multiple accounts and now they have their preorders on eBay for $100 more than retail. The bots are the reason why the website was crashing during checkout. The website only crashed for a few seconds but that was enough for regular retail shoppers like us to get fucked over.
>>11512832>>11513487>>11513498>Her first outfit was cheap and genericEarly cartoon Baroness was obsessed with Cobra Commander and his ideals in the form of idol worship so I prefer her wear a blue uniform that matches him. I also think the yellow sunglasses are cooler that her dorky black prescriptions.
>>11513654I thought pulse got updated to block the bots? Didnโt work that well.
>>11513654I got mine. I think it went up a bit early. I had 2 tabs opened. One was the item page with the countdown while the other was the new items listing. I opened a new tab for the set about 20 seconds earlier than the countdown and it was already up.
>>11513661My and a friend were on voice chat and it went up early for him. Both of us were trying to preorder and we both got cockblocked at checkout when the stupid ass error message popped up.
I'm still a little confused how there's this much demand for a $125 set depicting a small gag from the cartoon.
>>11513654Did they make a post on Twitter about this? Post the people bragging about doing this
>>11513668It's this drug called NOSTALGIA!!!!!
>>11513673Sadly I don't have an excuse like that, I just think they're cool figures
>>11513629If only the Baroness was selling for that much. People are pretty much expecting free Rattlers after selling off the figures. Hasbro has no intention of fixing the problem by offering just the figures to customers who'd gladly give their money to them even if recolors. That much is obvious with their schedule of releases.
>>11513634Hasbro doesn't mind hoarders only buying their shit to scalp at an inflated price. A sale is a sale, so their capacity to give a fuck is firmly at zero.
>>11513670They don't brag on socials, they just go straight to eBay and try to make some profit.
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=cold%20slither%20gi%20joe%20classified
>>11513657Or it was a generic decision by comic book artists who didn't know that there would even be a cartoon, so they gave her the simplest uniform of a blue bodysuit with some yellow trim, and in a different shade of blue so she stands out from the regular troops.
In 1982 they probably had no clue that the character meant to give CC someone to talk to would even be around for very long, especially since there was no toy of it nor any plans for one (at the time). In 1983 with wave 2, there was still no Baroness figure even though she did show up in the first cartoon. By 1984, they probably felt like they had to produce that figure because across both cartoons and comic books she was a well-written stand-out character that viewers couldn't ignore.
>>11513680>Hasbro has no intention of fixing the problem by offering just the figures to customers who'd gladly give their money to them even if recolors.Well yeah, it was a incentive to get the Rattler over funded and if they released a recolor a month after the Rattler came out people would expect the same for all future Haslab figures like they did with Cobra Commander even though they said the whole campaign he was an exception.
Like it's evil but I get it
>>11513680>no intention of fixing the problem by offering just the figures to customers who'd gladly give their money to them even if recolorsThey probably don't want to offer alternate releases too quickly or too often cause it would discourage Haslab purchases. CC was an exception considering we still haven't seen single releases of the Hiss driver, Wild Bill, Crazylegs, or Ripcord.
>>11513691>he thinks I was justifying why she was blue in canonI PREFER Baroness wear the same color uniform as Cobra Commander to signify her devotion to him and the cause. Plus we already have a black battle suit Classified Baroness. The flight suit Baroness that comes with the Rattler is identical to her blue flight suit look in the first season of the cartoon. Hasbro has ample reason to reuse to mold to sell to Retro fans that want every cartoon outfit as a figure. Like me.
>>11513668Completists want every last character and costume variant from a given movie/series. And GII Joe has a ton of them. Those Cold Slither Dreadnoks just flat-out look retarded, and that episode plays out like the people who made it never heard punk or even rock, but were counting on kids never hearing it either. But hey completists will pay a retard level of money for one because.
>>11513657They knew that her blue outfit was shit, and what they had to do to make her to be an alpha female in the series.
>>11513697>>11513698>>11513708Baroness is a main villain character same as CC. Every version of her sells gangbusters except for the lame Snake Eyes movie version. Hasbro should not cater to exclusivity fags when it comes to Retro Classified. They exclusively get the Rattler and it's pilot and that should be enough.
>>11513668there's more interest from scalpers for sure
I doubt it'll work out for them in this case
>>11513716Not relevant. As the newest Haslab shows they consider repeat characters that have already been released normally more up for grabs for Haslabs then new characters. Which as you can tell by it still not being funded is a mistake.
They will see this as Haslabs needing new characters only, mark my words
>>11513707>to signify her devotion to him and the causeDid you even watch the cartoon or read the comic books? She was on her own side, and often manipulated CC/Destro/Serpentor against each other for her own gain. And it worked. In the last issue of the original comic book, CC and Serpentor are dead, Destro's spending the rest of his life in a secret prison, numerous original Joes are dead, and Baroness is sitting on the throne of Cobra as the queen bitch of everything.
>>11513716>Every version of her sells gangbusters except for the lame Snake Eyes movie version. The SE movie version isn't the only shit version.
>>11513730I wanted the blue version of that Baroness on the right so fucking bad as a kid. Never did get it sadly
>>11513730>>11513746these baroness figures (and all other female figures in that scale) being horrifically ugly is why even as a child I could never fully commit to GI Joe
Thankfully Classified is in a scale where pretty faces are possible, and so far they haven't botched any of the Cobra girls
>>11513716>the lame Snake Eyes movie versionDon't even get me started on the movie Baronesses. Either of them.
The makers of the live action movies don't get Baroness at all. They just don't seem to understand that she's supposed be a total psycho. She wears these glasses because she doesn't care if it makes her look dorky. She's not about being cool or fashionable, she's about murder, war crimes and terrorism.
They keep casting actresses that just look too soft and weak to be her and they make them wear "cool" shades like she's Trinity from Matrix or something.
But I guess they're partly getting it from the cartoon, which already softened her compared to the comic character.
>>11513730God, the one on the right looks like she drunk too much and vomited on her own breasts.

Some details are wrong about the origin of Baroness.
GI Joe started as a Nick Fury Jr, Agent of Shield comic pitch by Larry Hama as Nick Fury would be revealed to have a son who just became a Shield agent and would be fighting a reborn Hydra, led by Madam Hydra (who at the time had rebranded herself Viper but who Hama was going to revert back to her old name).
Marvel rejected the series pitch, but when Hama was assigned to work with Hasbro to create lore and a comic for the 80s GI Joe toy line, he wholesale recycled the premise for GI Joe with Nick Fury Jr becoming Hawk and Madam Hydra/Viper becoming Baroness and Hydra became Cobra. However, he knew Hasbro would not want a female villain, so he created Cobra Commander instead and Baroness became his second in command.
In the early years of the comic, there were only like three Cobra villain toys (Cobra Commander, Cobra Trooper, and Cobra Officer) so Hama created comic exclusive villains like Kwinn the Eskimo, the Cobra Officer called "Scarface", and Doctor Venom. Destro doesn't show up until the second year and Major Bludd and Storm Shadow not until the end of the second year. By that point, Hasbro wanted the OCs killed off and if not for Sunbow deciding to include Baroness in the cartoon, Baroness would have died when Cobra Commander blew up her HISS tank. She was then written out for a couple of issues, coming back just in time for the release of her action figure.
Also, Baroness NEVER gets a happy ending in GI Joe lore. In the original Marvel Comics, she ends up mindraped evil and never freed from mind control. In the Devil's Due lore, Baroness is forced to basically give up trying to take over the world to raise her son, who she spends most of v2 trying to rescue from Cobra and has to watch Destro go on trial for crimes against humanity, for war crimes that Destro's bastard son committed in his name after helping Cobra Commander steal his father's company from him.

>>11514207>TIL Hama originally wanted Baroness to be the main baddieHe always tries to pitch that same character does he?
In the 60s and 70s he collaborated with Wally Wood on a bawdy comic strip called Sally Forth which had a space pirate character who was like a proto Baroness (if Baroness spent all her time walking around with her tits out)
>>11514505the comedic tone of late stage cobra commander makes a lot of sense now that I look at those strips

>>11514207>In the early years of the comic, there were only like three Cobra villain toys (Cobra Commander, Cobra Trooper, and Cobra Officer)And NO VEHICLES. In the first year 1982 the Joes were the only ones with vehicles. Before year's end they came out with the SNAKE armor, but that was nothing.
>Destro doesn't show up until the second year and Major Bludd and Storm Shadow not until the end of the second year.Destro and Major Bludd both showed up at the same time in the same wave of figures. At any rate, the cartoon was ahead of the toys. You can watch the 1984 mini-series on Youtube and see characters and vehicles that didn't show up until 1985 or 1986.
>Hasbro wanted the OCs killed offI don't know if that's true since at that time Hasbro took generic-blue Baroness and turned her into S&M psycho-sexy Baroness. I still remember the story of her original prototype figure having big boobs, but Hasbro felt that was taking it too far, so they had toy sculptors make them smaller. And there's no denying that they let her sexuality slip into the cartoon and comic books in spite of kids.
>>11514571I am firmly convinced that Hasbro went through the trouble to make that mold so only a small handful of people can ever own it, and are firmly committed to never re-use it. They've done it with other Classified figures. It doesn't make sense for a company that's hurting for money and has had to do lay-offs, and I'd love for that short well-rounded brand manager explain to investors how she's doing them a favor by not maximizing profits by filling the demand that's there.
>>11514655>They've done it with other Classified figuresLike who?
Serpentor or whatever? Obviously they aren't going to reuse the parts of 7 foot tall freaks like him or Nemesis.
>>11514786I assumed he was mocking my pessimism.
>>11514830I just got off the phone with Mr. John Hasbro himself and he confirmed that the new Baroness mold has been destroyed. Even more specifically, he said it was because of Baroness-anon wanting it so much.
Also, he is using his massive wealth to buy up all the examples being sold on ebay and such, so he can melt them in a big vat to make sure you never get one.

Otherwise, I love it! I hope we get a Conquest to counter the Rattler in the near future; I know the Skystriker is probably more popular, but I always thought the Conquest was cooler.

>>11514207There's some inaccuracies here, as Hasbro's own design team created Hawk and the other Joes, plus Cobra Commander. Hama simply recycled the basic character personality archetypes from his earlier rejected SHIELD pitch to use on the GI Joe characters Hasbro had created.
Cobra being a thing at all is entirely due to Marvel though, IIRC it was Archie Goodwin who suggested the name for a villain faction during a Hasbro/Marvel meeting early in the development of the book, after Marvel's people were asking who the Joes were going to fight.
Hama ended up getting the comic after virtually everyone else at Marvel had already turned the job down as most writers didn't want to do a "toy comic", despite Bill Mantlo's Micronauts and Rom Spaceknight being successes for Marvel.
>>11515031Didn't like the scatter bombs huh

>>11515558It's the classified rattler so it should be 1:12
>>11515031Don't the cockpit and turret interiors light up or did I dream that? Any pics?
>>11515192>>11515194I've been ignoring OMF so far because even though they are cool, GIJoe Classified is cheaper and more convenient to buy, especially outside the US. On top of that, OMF features entirely new factions that I'd want to buy several figures of if I made a first purchase (i.e. it would be weird to buy only one vampire), so I end up buying none.
Tits may give me the final push, cause this and other females look great.
>>11515241>Micronauts and Rom SpaceknightBoth were short-lived flops in spite of them being actually good comic books.
>Hasbro's own design team created Hawk and the other Joes, plus Cobra Commander. Hama simply recycled the basic character personality archetypes from his earlier rejected SHIELD pitch to use on the GI Joe characters Hasbro had created. The first year for the series really was terrible. The bad guys from Hasbro's perspective were basically an afterthought. They didn't get any vehicles, the Joes got all the vehicles, and all they got was a cardboard playset. The comic books saved Cobra by flushing out their characters, and on top of that it was the people working on the comic books who created most of the characters after the initial 1982 Hasbro launch.
>>11515241>Micronauts and Rom Spaceknight being successes for Marvel.lol
>>11515661On top of that the first-year figures broke more easily than the ones from later on. They all have broken-crotch problems, but the first-year ones are significantly more prone to broken thumbs than the second eyar on out are. And Cobra Commander's weapon is a hair dryer excuse me "heat gun."
>>11515558Fairly. Wing span is about 6" too short, couple inches short overall length.
>>11510091May finally have a reason to take this damn thing out of the packaging, kek.
>>11515053Would love both, especially the Phantom since I wanted one when I was a kid but never got one (Phantom and the Defiant were my biggest want-but-never-gots, haha) and the Night Raven was one of my favorite toys as a kid (though I ended up playing with the smaller fighter more because it was easier to swoosh).
>>11515429They're cool! But I didn't want to put anything into the centerline hardpoints because it'd get in the way when picking up the Rattler and you've gotta clear them for the stand anyways, so thhey got left off. On the upside, I can stick 'em on the stand and it looks like they're being dropped mid-flight!
>>11515566Indeed they do! You've got three lighting options and they mostly just change how the wingroot lights appear (either white as above or red), but the third option adds a flashing warning screen on the cockpits MFD and also lights up interior damage that you can see if you swap in the battle-damaged fuselage panel.
The lighting does give me one more minor thing to gripe about; there's no option to switch off the lights, you gotta just let them turn off on their own after two minutes. Other Haslabs do this like Sentinel and Galactus, but all the Classified Haslabs let you cycle to a lights-off setting so I was surprised they omitted it here. Again, very minor gripe, but it's nice to have the option.
>>11515676I remember the landing gear on my original Rattler just peeling off into my hands as a kid, like snapping a fig newton, haha.
>>11515781All the aircraft in G.I.Joe were cooler than they had any right to be. I remember staring at pictures of Condor and Conquest in toy catalogs and wanting them so bad. I never got them. Instead I got a lousy Piranha. I kid, it was a cool toy in its own right. But no Condor.
>>11515820Not all of them. I personally felt that the Condor was a bit goofy. Plus Destro's tank that turned into a helicopter, as if that made any sense. And other ugly ones like the mudfighter and the Warhawk, which out of all Joe aircraft is the most badly-deformed in its proportions.
>>11515820cobra vehicles have a higher win ratio than joes

>>11515826As a planefag that thing annoys me something fierce.
>Take a Curtiss P-40 Warhawk>Squash it lengthways>Slap a giant rotary cannon on the underside (firing through the propellers no less!)Even putting aside "why the fuck is this elite modern combat unit using a piston-engined propeller plane that became obsolete in the 40s?", assuming the thing could even get off the ground, firing that cannon would shake the airframe apart.
If they wanted to make a propeller plane they should have taken inspiration from the Douglas A-1 Skyraider. It was designed for WW2 but just missed the end of the war, but served admirably as a low-speed CAS bomber in Vietnam.
>>11515837I disagree.
>Joe gets a nice big base, and Cobra gets a cardboard playset>Joe gets a big boat (hovercraft), Cobra gets a small one (moccasin)>Joe gets a big helicopter (Dragonfly), and Cobra gets a small one (Fang)>Joe gets a big plane (Skystriker), and Cobra gets a smaller one (Rattler)>Joe gets another massive playset (USS Flagg), and Cobra got a rifle range1986 is the ONLY year where Cobra got the bigger plane, boat, playset, and base. Everything else was one-sided both before and after that.
>>11515826>mudfighterGod I had memory holed this hideous thing, and for a good reason. Curse you for reminding me. That stupid looking swirly rear-facing prop and the pilot who's another Joe looking for the gay bar. If they had just released this as another jet maybe with a grey or black color scheme it wouldn't have been bad.
>>11515839GI Joe started off being made for Gen-X kids, and then transitioned into being for millenial kids. And it showed. The Gen-X toy-buyers got more mature and had reached the age where all they cared about were cars and boobs, while the line went backwards to pander to people who are still kids at that point. That's where stupid proportions, brightly-colored accessories, comically-oversized weapons for the figures, and crap like that disproportionately oversized gatling on the Warhawk came in.

>>11515878????
The plane it's based on (A-10) is a low-speed tank in the sky meant to fly at low speeds and low altitudes so it can "get personal" with tanks and other ground ordinance. The box itself even lists the Rattler's purpose the same as the real plane it's based on.
>>11515884Yes, dummy, that's what I said.
Ground attack, not air attack.
>>11515885A-10s don't do that from high altitudes, bro. There are people in the middle east who probably saw A-10 pilots shooting them the finger while firing depleted-uranium rounds through the gatling gun at them with how low-and-slow they flew.

they make their gun attacks from 3-5 miles away. Their missiles and rockets are fired from either further away.
So you shouldn't be able to see them unless you've been watching the sky and you'll only see them as a speck in the sky.
>>11511231What's the white guys face meant to be, looks familiar
>>11513231 Oh the weather outside is frightful.
>>11515661Rom lasted 75 issues and 4 annuals, from 1979 to 1986. Micronauts volume was 59 issues and 2 annuals, from 1979 to 1984, followed by a second volume of 20 issues from 1984 to 1986. Those are by no means "short-lived flops", that's an argument that can be better made by 1980s Marvel toy comics for lines like Inhumanoids, Visionaries, Sectaurs and Crystar, or even Marvel's MOTU comic. The Rom and Micronauts comics both outlasted the toys they were based on by years.
>The first year for the series really was terrible. There sure were too many guys in generic looking green uniforms, it's no surprise the comic made Snake Eyes and Scarlett two of the main characters, they were the only ones that really stood out strongly.
>The bad guys from Hasbro's perspective were basically an afterthought. They didn't get any vehicles, the Joes got all the vehicles, and all they got was a cardboard playset.Well, from what we already know, Hasbro basically had the 13 original Joes and their vehicles all ready to go when they were meeting with Marvel about the comic, so the three Cobra figures really were a bare-minimum afterthought to get some bad guys on the shelves after Marvel raised the "who are they going to fight?" question.
>and on top of that it was the people working on the comic books who created most of the characters after the initial 1982 Hasbro launch. That's not really true though. All of the new toy characters every year were created by Hasbro, and they just had Hama write the filecards for them, but the character's design and role were already finalized by the time he was doing that. The comics created a number of recurring OCs, but the Baroness was the only one who actually got made into a toy during 1982-1994.
>>11515663That's not an argument, anon.
>>11515676>And Cobra Commander's weapon is a hair dryer excuse me "heat gun."There's a non-zero chance that Cobra Commander's gun is why Rob Liefeld would often draw Cable using a pistol that looked more like a hair dryer. You can decide for yourselves whether that's a good or bad thing, but I think it's cool.
>>11515784>I remember the landing gear on my original Rattler just peeling off into my hands as a kid, like snapping a fig newton, haha.I remember that just folding them out once visibly stressed them so much that I never dared use them again.
>>11515837>but I think vehicles that are just off-brand versions of real life shit without any flair suck ass, and that's most joe stuff, so I'm a little biasedThe Rattler and Night Raven are the two main Cobra vehicles that were off-brand versions of real things, and it helps a lot that they're off-brand versions of things that were really cool to begin with, but they're also modified just enough to be even cooler.
>>11516072>but they're also modified just enough to be even cooler.I sorta wish the Rattler nixed the third engine, honestly, if only because having the (awesome) dorsal turret directly in its path seems like a bad idea.
>>11516072I have a vintage Rattler with stress marks on 2 out of 3 landing gear struts. How they haven't broken by now is beyond me.
>>11516060Without interviewing the people who were there (like they'd risk their reputations to come here) it's hard to get exact information. But the bottom line is multiple characters and even some vehicles showed up in comic books and even the cartoon before there was a toy version, and that was the norm for 1983 -1985. A basic version of the Rattler first shows up in the 1983 mini-series MASS Device. Probably half of the 1985 characters showed up in 1984 in Pyramid of Darkness. The Firebat made an appearance too even though it wouldn't be available for another two years.
It's easy to credit the comic book team as well as Sunbow when you notice how often they were both well ahead of the Hasbro releases.
>>11516107Broadly, this just seems to have been how Hasbro rolled with both GI Joe and Transformers, that the people working on the comics and cartoons would have the usage of upcoming new toy characters in advance of the actual toys being on the shelves. The first season of Transformers was broadcast in 1984 but includes some characters whose toys were released the following year, like the Dinobots, Insecticons and Constructicons.
According to Wikipedia, Pyramid of Darkness was 1985, but Flint, Lady Jaye, Shipwreck and the Dreadnoks do appear in 1984's Revenge of Cobra. The Rattler was first in Revenge of Cobra in 84, too. Sunbow came up with their own generic Cobra jet design for the MASS Device mini, just like the early comics gave Cobra generic tanks. The Firebat is in some 85 episodes, the year before the toy, but IIRC it was grey in those early appearances, like the toy design wasn't quite finalized yet.
Hama and the writers at Sunbow have done enough interviews over the years that if any of them had just created those characters out of nowhere AND Hasbro had just allowed them to put those characters in such important roles AND then gone on to make toys with them, as is exactly what happened with the Baroness, people would have talked about it, and taken the credit for creating them. Everything we know points towards Hasbro just sometimes letting the cartoons and comics showcase upcoming toys in advance of their release, to build up hype for the toys as already being known as "important" characters kids would want to own.
>>11516107Just because stuff appeared in comics and cartoons doesn't mean the makers of the comics and cartoons invented them. They were in communique with Hasbro and could have seen prototypes and sketches well before there was an actual product on the shelves.
>>11516159>Everything we know points towards Hasbro just sometimes letting the cartoons and comics showcase upcoming toys in advance of their release, to build up hype for the toys as already being known as "important" characters kids would want to own.Indeed this makes perfect marketing sense, after all they were trying to replicate the success of the Star Wars toys and those would have been nothing if kids hadn't seen the characters and spaceships in the movies first.

>>11516257They basically did that hairstyle with the Skrull Queen head in Marvel Legends and it looks great, but the range of motion is total garbage.
If they just used softer plastic so the locks of hair had just slightly more give to flex a little over the shoulders for head turns, it would be perfect.
>>11516248If they made the Sigma 6, Rise of Cobra and Energon Universe versions, I'd probably want those.
>>11515839>why the fuck is this elite modern combat unit using a piston-engined propeller planeThe Warhawk was from the Sgt Savage line, a sort of WWII-esque "prequel" of sorts to G.I. Joe proper. All the figures from that subline had that same WWII aesthetic to the point where the main villains were pretty much Nazis. It didn't run long, only had like one wave and three vehicles (the bad guy's tank being the best) and was eventually mutated into G.I. Joe Extreme.
>>11515847If this thing ditched the rear propeller and had an actual glass canopy for the cock-pit, it would've been really cool Joe vehicle. It's a low flying, danger close bomber, which isn't a role the Joes have covered with any other vehicle. It's got a pretty sleek shape, it's not excessively large where it's hard to handle, has tons of bombs and even those neat double underchin gatling guns (which should've been a separate piece, not just molded in). This thing came real close to being an actually cool vehicle, it just needed a few small changes....and a completely different name. Ground support bomber or no, "Mudfighter" is the last thing I'd think of when naming any kind of aircraft.
>>11516248Part of me regrets skipping out on the Crimson set when it was on deep discount, but seeing her next to the original Classified Baroness, I'm less bothered by my choice. Even with the changes and completely different colors, they just look too similar to each other for my collection.
>>11516394Nice. Glasses look good with that hair style, shame it doesn't quite fit properly and pushes the sides out.
>>11516398Not as bad as the swept back hair. This pose is a bit harder to do, ass too big and limbs too stumpy compared to the real thing
Hasbro completely bungled the SW Black Series ISB agent. Head down the figure is complete Frankenstein reuse of other SW troopers, and the only new sculpt they have, the head is way too big. Thankfully his head fit great onto Grunt and other generic GI Joe Classified army. Highly recommended if you guys are looking for more normal looking photoreal person for one of your trooper Joes, once the ISB agent inevitably went on clearance at Target. Because the guy come with an imperial officer hat, his head also sculpted well to fit into helmets.
>>11516392Gimmie more SGT Savage lore
>>11515558Assuming the thing is supposed to be the size of an A-10C, 16.26m / 0.85m gives me about 1:19.
Though my calculation could be thrown off by the Rattler having slightly mangled proportions as Joe vehicles tend to have.
But yeah seems about close enough.
In the pictures the pilot does seem to be a bit large for the plane. It would be interesting to see how would ARAH Wild Weasel look like sitting there.
>>11516261but enough about your opinions
>>11516252The headsculpt for the Rattler one is the best one. Plus the regular black one is based more on modern versions of her battle suit than her original one. So there's something they can do there to produce a new one.
>>11516392>It didn't run long, only had like one wave and three vehicles (the bad guy's tank being the best) and was eventually mutated into G.I. Joe Extreme.Pretty sure it was killed for the Kenner team-designed Extreme. Hasbro didn't give it a chance, really.

Is there any GI Joe media worth consuming? I got roped into the line from the basic military infantry figures, I generally know that Cobra bad Joe good. Who are the main characters (other than Snake Eyes, even I know that), and who are the glup shittos? Do people buy based on affinity to certain character (like Star Wars) or just rule of cool?
>>11517461The ARAH comics are great. Issue #34 is my favorite, and that's a standalone.
Otherwise there's this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ah2I166f_U
And that's pretty much all you need.
>>11517461For me personally, I never cared about the lore even (especially) as a kid. GI Joe was always rule of cool. The core OG Joes were literally just a bunch of greenshirt army men, with only Snake Eyes and Scarlett really standing out in appearance.
Cobra had all sorts of crazy and sick looking troopers and vehicles and weapons and shit, but the whole joke with them in the cartoons and stuff was that they were pretty much a bunch of bumbling fuckwits for the most part.
>>11517461I liked the Duke and Cobra comics they released
I liked the Destro minu too but I guess people thought it was boring? Scarlet mini gets people mad because it's jlthe writer going "we wanted her to be a lesbian but Hasbro said fuck off" so people are mad Scarlet does lesbian like things like live with a woman for 8 years collecting cats and watering plants while looking into another woman's eyes but actual people who wanted lesbian Scarlet are mad because when she reunites with this woman they just have like a firm handshake and go "man we're such good firends". For some reason I still remember the part where she escaped by ripping a razor blade she had hidden under her skin to cut through some ropes. I should continue reading the other comics
>>11517461The 80s Marvel comic is pretty much the core G.I.Joe source. For most of the 80s it was good, then the quality took a nose dive. The series is actually still on-going, under a different publisher, but the same writer.
Then there's G.I.Joe Resolute, a 2009 cartoon mini-series / movie that's decent but unconnected to anything else lore-wise.
The 80s cartoon is mostly for people who either watched it as kids or simply enjoy HEAVILY campy and silly stuff.
The U.K. had their own comic called Battle Action Force which is kind of a mixed bag but some of it is really good. My favorite BAF story is the Baroness origin tale where they showed her leading her own scrappy little terrorist outfit before she joined Cobra.
Avoid the live action movies, they're terrible.
>>11517529It's a reference to the 5-part miniseries that kicked off one of the G.I. Joe cartoons. The MASS Device.
>>11517485The heroes win every episode. It's standard 1980s TV writing.
>>11517571The 80s cartoon was basically Tomb Raider and Indiana Jones, James Bond, Metal Gear Solid, and some military stuff thrown in. That's why it still works.
>>11517529Early 89s way of showing he was dyeing from radiation sickness. He was actually glowing pink all over with normal hands. I guess this is a fair compromise rather than just making a glow in the dark pink body for him.

Looks like the Snowcat should fund within the next day, I'd think. Seems like its been picking up a bit now that it is pretty close to the main goal. Will probably have a little over a week to possibly hit any of the stretch goals. Maybe now since it is so close, more of the fence sitters will jump in.
>>11518762If they make it to Jaye (unlikelty) I'd be interested to see how she rates on the aftermarket. I can't be the only one slightly interested in just popping one of those heads on the old figure.
>>11518771That's only 2k more backers, and these always get a big spike at the end. I still wouldn't be shocked if it funds all the way, but at minimum, I think it'll probably pull in another 3k-4k.
>>11517502 I really like the Chuckles mini-series and in my head I have this "comic book ending" that happens after the main story and it's Chuckles coming out of the water after being washed up on a beach or something equally "Saturday morning" so there would be more sometime.
Also they should have gone full batshit "the Other" (okay movie, creepy as fuck book.) with it.
With the living twin having conversations with the dead twin. him commenting to the twin and the person in the room takes it as something said to them. the works.
>>11517571 Renegades Baroness Battlesuit needs to come out.
>>11518482There's no "the" lore, there's multiple continuities that contradict each other. Cobra-La was in the 80s cartoon, not in the comic. Comic Cobra Commander was a used car salesman, and clearly human (he was seen without hood / helmet a few times).

And before someone starts gushing about how much better the comic was let me remind you of my all time favorite plot twist.
When Firefly SOMEHOW RETURNED after rotting for years inside that volcano, and in the same breath revealed that, oh, I was ACTUALLY an Arashikage ninja master all this time, you know that guy whose face was blurred in all those old photos? Ha ha, I just moved my head any time someone tried to photograph me, those suckers! What's that, you were there in Japan and don't remember me? Oh but see: I can also blur my face in real life too! I'm such a great ninja you see. I just never used any of these abilities the last time you saw me alive, because I'm just so disciplined I wouldn't drop my cover like that.
And this was a good while after Cobra Commander had SOMEHOW RETURNED from the same volcano, leaving Firefly and others corpses behind - oh but it wasn't Firefly, he was just using Serpentor's body as a decoy because he PLANS EVERYTHING OUT. Thankfully the comic was cancelled before Larry had time to resurrect Serpentor as well.
None of it made any sense. Larry Hama himself must have been dying from cringe writing it.
It's possible that when he was killing off characters (like fans often requested) he was overestimating his influence over the toy division, or he falsely assumed that when the toy company stopped selling a figure, they'd never bring the character back in another wave and want the new costume to be shilled in the comic.
>>11518820Hama just bought his own hype with how much people loved all the shit he did with Storm Shadow and obviously he was inspired to do that because he's a Japanese man himself, but then that was his one trick and so Firefly and Zartan and whoever else all also had ninja training
>>11518823Hasbro certainly also played their part by introducing the entire Ninja Force line. Because they saw how popular Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow were and now that Storm was a good guy they needed new badguy ninjas to fight. Which on paper isn't a terrible idea but they way overscaled it I think. They probably thought it was going to be their TMNT or something. Then nobody really cared about those new characters.
Why wouldn't you care about Dojo, though? Aren't all you kids dying to know all the lore about blue-shirt white-pants bald pony tail man and how he's connected to Storm Shadow?
Ninja Force Scarlett.
I always thought her new costume was strange and too capeshitty for the comics but now that I see pictures of the figure, in a vacuum that's not a bad design if you want a female ninja toy in this scale. Non-standard hip joints because of the spring-loaded kick feature, but it seems that allowed them to model some nice wide hips and dat ass on her, and it seems bust size was also buffed. And soft pony tail! The shoulders are kinda wide but you can explain that with the armor pads I guess. The leotard has kind of an odd painted-on Lego feel to it though since it doesn't line up with the joints and I don't like the bright yellow weapons and accessories. Ninja Force had the tendency to use brightly colored plastic for the weapons when simple grey or black would have worked.
Is this the best ARAH female figure actually?
>>11518024Oh, hey, the display all of 2 dozen stores nationwide will get! Bitterness aside, it is a cool display. I haven't scene a fraction of that much product between Joe and ML at a Walmart in who knows how long.
>>11518823Ninja Turtles were huge at that time, so making the Joes to be about ninjas everywhere was Hasbro's attempt at competing.
>>11518820Yeah. This is his ninja form. And he comes with a top of spinning ninja death.
In all fairness it was all Hasbro's fault. GI Joe transitioned from being a Gen-X toy line to a Millenial toy line, so they wanted the toys to be designed for a new demographic of kids. And it really showed. The comic books were an afterthought to Hasbro but the comic books HAD to use the new character designs in order to promote what's on store shelves.
>>11518983Now I'm bitter they didn't use the spinning top in the comic. Would have been kino if after that ridiculous exposition dump he had pulled that thing out of the swamp and sent it after the joes.
>>11518041I went to a couple last night and they had a bunch of boxes lying around but nothing was out. May stop again today and see if they got around to it. Would be great to check Crystal Ball and the Night Force 2-pack off my list early.
>>11518771Lady Jaye is my main interest as well, but I really can't imagine they won't repurpose those parts for a full on standard redo of her. They'd be dumb not to.
>>11517502>I should continue reading the other comicsThey're okay but characters start dying in them, which, yeah its a story about people shooting guns at each other, but still it's characters you grew up with
>>11519256Gonna assume he said something a little worse than "cyะบa ะฑะปััั", kek
>>11519276Since she's blushing I assume the original intent was more sexual, before Hasbro ran it through a translator
>>11519041They should at least re-use the improved head on the first body, but cartoon-accurate where her pants and shirt are two different shades of green.
>>11519290>on the first bodyNah I'll take a whole new figure, thanks.
>>11518792I remember when I said that GI Joe has multiple continuities which is fine, and the mods on the Joe Customs forum gave me a demerit because that fact upset their poster friend. Anyone with a brain can tell that GI Joe has been malleable in its lore. Everything is different from the comic, the original cartoon and the many different reboots that followed down to the movies. There is no "one" story to GI Joe
>>11519455The one true Canon is the one you made yourself playing in your backyard
>>11519455>There is no "one" story to GI JoeThere never was thanks to the 80s cartoons and comic books doing two completely different things. Kids figured that out 4 decades ago, so I don't get it's an issue now.
Personally I take the original cartoon as the "primary Joe universe."
>>11518820In the early years of the comic, Hama was careful to not kill any toy characters and just limited himself to killing his own OCs, plus a fakeout Storm Shadow death that he came back from. Then we had the Hasbro-mandated death of Cobra Commander, at the exact same time Hasbro was also mandating that the comics push the new Battle Armor Cobra Commander figure, which is why we had Fred the Crimson Guardsman impersonating Cobra Commander for years.
About a year after that, Hama killed Serpentor, a character he's said he disliked, once the toy was no longer on sale, but he was very careful to immediately set up the idea that Serpentor wasn't a normal human, and could be revived one day, leaving the door open for him to return if Hasbro did ever make a new figure and demand the comics bring him back.
But somewhere in the early 90s, Hama just started killing off a lot of Joes and Cobras. Maybe he figured most of them were lower tier characters unlikely to get new toys, so it wouldn't be a problem, but Mindbender and Firefly did get new figures, and he was forced to think up ways to bring them back. And sure, Firefly's return sounds retarded when you spell it all out like that, and their attempt to pretend it was all planned all along was dumb too, but I like Firefly, so I like him coming back, I like his green ninja costume as an alternate look for him, and his whole secret ninja thing so we have a new ninja bad guy to replace Storm Shadow. It's fun, and it's OK for toy comics to be fun.
>>11518823In part it's also the comic book soap opera of it all. Snake Eyes is basically the main character of the comic, so a lot of supporting characters and villains all ended up having backstory that was connected to him somehow, as convoluted and implausible as it all got.
>>11518827You're right, Ninja Force wasn't a bad idea on paper, it's just that it's Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, Scarlett and a bunch of random other guys who never really got developed enough to give anyone any reason to care about them unless one of them was a beloved childhood toy.
I can't remember if it was mentioned here or on /co/ a while back, but as with Scarlett and Zartan, just doing more Ninja Force figures that were new toys of established characters that were good melee fighters (even if not actual ninjas) might have been a better option. New versions of Quick Kick, Jinx, Sgt Slaughter, Serpentor, Croc Master and Road Pig would probably have sold better than the Dojo and the other new guys. Though it would probably have broken Hama after he'd already killed several of those guys.
>>11518874I wouldn't be opposed to the Classified line attempting a version of this.
>>11519617>I wouldn't be opposed to the Classified line attempting a version of this.Classified is like the one toy line where I wouldn't mind them attempting anything
>>11519606This makes me wonder about what this anon meant
>>11519256 cause it seems like that's just normal for the comics
>>11519640Not only that, it's not really an iconic look, so they'd have a lot more room to tweak it a little and maybe find ways to make it work better.
I want another Scarlett because they still need to get the fucking face right.
>>11519642In fairness, that anon does have a point in that modern GI Joe comics (and other toy comics based on classic properties that have been around for decades) aren't usually working under the same toy company mandates that the writers would have been working under in the 80s and 90s. Back then, no matter how much the writers tried to kill a character, if they got a new toy, the comics or cartoons would be forced to bring them back. A modern GI Joe comic can just kill characters and have it stick if the writers want it to, at least until the next reboot, and especially if it's lower-tier characters.

>>11519742Does that mean you don't want your Baroness?
>>11519776To be honest, I was never excited that it was only three figures, and that one was Baroness.
But I do like the way she turned out, and I'll be keeping her as my main Baroness until they do a new one in black.
At which point I'll transfer Pilot Baroness to stand with the Rattler.
>>11519789Hope it arrives safely, enjoy your figures anon.
>>11519844Yeah, I'm gonna be happy for the first time this year when it actually shows up.
If and when.
Snowcat bros... we're gonna make it...
I can just picture a sync meeting between Marvel and Hasbro reps circa 1992, I imagine it going something like this
>FIREFLY HAS A NEW COSTUME.
>W-wait... he's been dead for years. It's not-
>FIREFLY HAS A NEW COSTUME AND IT IS EXTREMELY SILLY. HE AND SCARLETT ARE NINJAS NOW.
>...What?
>THE JOES AND COBRAS WILL HAVE A BIG BATTLE. IN SPACE.
>I don't think this will...
>MAKE IT SO.
At least it seems Hama was able to negotiate some sort of compromise since in the comic it's just a small side story about a bunch of Joes teaming up with Oktober Guard shuttling off to stop an asteroid that was diverted toward Earth by a rogue Russian scientist, with no Cobra involvement.
Looking at the toy line, it looks like Hasbro wanted "Star Brigade" to be a full-blown Star Wars knock-off starring most of the big and famous Joe characters including Duke, Destro and Cobra Commander, damned if it made any sense. Oh, and there were aliens too. I can sort of understand Hasbro big-wigs being spooked by TMNT and ordering the ninjas to be a bigger focus. But Star Wars and other space stuff wasn't really big at this point in the 90s so I'm not sure where Star Brigade came from. It was at least 10 years too late to cash in on that fad.
The cartoon people had it easier, since they treated the whole cartoon based on army toys thing as a joke from the start. Must have been fun being Hama, watching all the lore you spent a decade carefully constructing evaporate because of some gay plasticmen appearing on toy store shelves. It seems he was always a fan of sci-fi and Robert A. Heinlein though so he probably at least had fun writing the space issues. I hope. (He directly referenced Heinlein in the Star Brigade issues) But this random space shit was probably the last nail in the coffin that caused the readership to dwindle to the point the comic was cancelled.
I wanted the haslab to be that cool space force mech. I think I still have mine somewhere.
I wonder if they were influenced by Warhammer. The power armor guys are basically space marines.
It blows my mind this wasn't just a handful of tentative products to test the waters. No, there were dozens of these toys, including huge vehicles like the mechs. They were really banking on Star Brigade to become a big success. Such confidence.
>>11520054The Armor Bot was the best thing about that subline. As a kid, I actually liked the crazy weird mid-90s stuff like Eco Warriors, Mega Marines, etc, but Star Brigade was pretty much where I dipped out of Joes as a kid. I hated the armored bodies, they didn't even feel like Joes anymore.
>>11519617>I wouldn't be opposed to the Classified line attempting a version of this.Cool idea. They could include the trench coat she wears in that Terminator-esque issue where she fights the B.A.T. As well as the pick, the hammer and the rivet gun she uses. The prototype B.A.T. itself could be a badass figure. An off-brand Terminator.
Kind of a lame issue back then (wasn't even written by Hama but at least the art was good) but with some good 1:12 toy potential.
>>11518874Sometimes I donโt think Hasbro would have made this if they werenโt also making the Street Fighter toys that year. With Chun Li being Scarlettโs mold mate.
Still saying for

>>11520619>ice auger, cast iron skillet, moka pot, thermos, fishing poles, paper coffee cupsThis looks more like misappropriation of a government vehicle for personal use to have a little winter fun. Should have come with MCW/LRP rations, no cap.
>>11520619No one probably. Hasn't even funded and most likely will not reach any of the tiers, so nothing in that pic will be included if it funds.
>>11520619The jaw jut, those leg pins. $350 premium offering. I can see why this Haslab is suffering.
>>11520635If nothing else, I want them to understand that making a major design element of the Haslab be cooking over a fucking campfire and drinking coffee was a move both gay and retarded, and they shouldn't ever do bullshit like that again.
It's also one thing to make your bonus tiers a rereleased character when it's 11/10 coomerbait like pilot Baroness, but when it's fucking Flint and Jaye dressed like they're walking across a parking lot in Toronto. Nobody gives a fuck about that, Jaye's face isn't even that good.
They must have different people working on Cobra shit because they'd yet to drop the ball whereas the Joe side has had tons of fumbles thus far.
Hey guys, rest easy.
You can store the tent.
>>11520646That is neat
Even if we won't get the tent
>>11520641They'll still get the wrong idea and then Baroness will become exclusive to Haslabs
>>11520673not the worst possibility
that would be just about the only path to getting bikini baroness
>>11520674Yes..
For the BUGG surely
>>11520641>I want them to understand that making a major design element of the Haslab be cooking over a fucking campfire and drinking coffee was a move both gay and retardedThis is the stupidest thing I've ever read, and it had 0 effect on the funding. The rattler funded with fucking patches as a tier. The issue with the snow cat is that it's too weather specific. If they had done it in olive green or desert brown it would have funded without issues.
>>11519661Looks very cool! What's his name? Is he an exclusive?
>>11520688The patches were a hardship, but it's not like the bonus Rattler figures came with kitchen appliances instead of guns.
In truth, the plastic used for the stupid tent and the shit it comes with means they could have done a 4th figure instead, whereas the Rattler having those fucking patches means they probably couldn't afford to in the long run.
>>11520692>>11520688Isn't it just that people like the Rattler more
>>11520689Crystal Ball. It was part of Wal-Mart's Collector Con, but you should be able to get it elsewhere.
>>11520692But all the Snowcat Bonus tiers come with weapons
the polar bear in the jazz hands snake eyes set is sick as fuck
>>11520705Of course. I was using the patches example to show that one extra tier does not determine the success of the haslab.
The rattler and hiss were way better and more iconic, the dragonfly was good but I think most people got it because of fomo
after the hiss was great, which is evident by it's shitty aftermarket price.
>>11520714The Dragonfly figures all looked like total ass in the face department, like year 1 of Classifed-tier, whereas the Rattler has two of the best full face sculpts in the line whereas the Snowcat figures' faces are definitely better than the Dragonfly's, but they're not beating Weasel or Baroness or even some of the mainline releases.
I really do believe there's more competent people working on the Cobra side of things.
>>11520709Flint comes with all reused shit for weapons and then pots and pans, Jaye has spears and no guns at all, plus a fishing pole.
That's a lot of plastic they could've used for something else.
>>11520513We're still only on page 6.
>>11520552I was going to wait till the preorder went up and use a promo shot cause all we have right now are shitty con photos.
>>11520641>>11520646The camping stuff is probably the best part of the entire set and the fact it can stow away so neatly is really cool. Hell, the fact they even gave the Snowcat a usable transport bed that figures can sit inside makes it by far the best version of that vehicle ever designed.
But the problem with the Snowcat....is that it's the Snowcat. It's a very specific environment vehicle that doesn't have the universal appeal of previous releases. Also, it's the fourth big vehicle into the line and people are starting to get burnt out and run out of space. Also people are broke these days, so big ticket luxury items gonna be harder to swing. It'll fund, probably hit a few of the goals, but it was always going to perform worse then previous offerings.
>>11520777Who the hell even goes by pages? Catalogue and pin your favorites. The autosage crap more or less made sure pages don't even matter anymore.
>>11520871>Who the hell even goes by pages? No one, I just use it as a gauge for when to post the new thread.
>>11520871I would honestly prefer a desert specific vehicle since I'm buying three Scorpions
>>11520902Fair enough, I remake a thread myself here and I usually just make a new one every three weeks or so.
>>11520962Desert vehicles have a lot more versatility in where they can be used so one of those would probably be way more popular. Like the AWE is essentially a desert vehicle, but it's versatile enough to be used anywhere so it's a mainstay release in G.I. Joe. There are very few desert specific vehicles and more often then not it just comes down to coloring.
That said, if that Snowcat was repainted as the Basilisk with Cobra Blue and a red canopy, I would have backed it first day.

>>11521308 Just call the Desert / Forest version a "Mountain Lion" Or "Cougar"
Front skis look cool for sand.
>>11520039To be fair, Firefly being a ninja when he came back was 100% all on Hama. The figure wasn't sold as a ninja, and had a rifle instead of melee weapons.
And following on from the discussion about Hasbro bringing back characters Hama had killed earlier, we know Hasbro were hands-on with the book enough to insist certain characters or vehicles get spotlighted, demanding an artist get replaced at least once, and I think Hama had to clear any toy character deaths with them, too. So Hasbro must have had no idea from one year to the next whether they planned to make new toys of specific old characters or not.
Star Brigade, I don't know why Hasbro went all in on that so hard, but the comic getting rebranded as Snake Eyes & Ninja Force featuring GI Joe for two arcs probably didn't help any more than the Star Brigade arc did. A number of fans really hated the Transformers G2 arc, as well.
>>11521216The fact you don't like this classic vehicle, think a fan favorite in Lady Jaye is ugly, don't like a Sunbow winter outfit Flint, and don't know what the Bivouac is tells me that yes, you aren't a Joe fan,.
On the topic of military figures, anyone have experience with the did 1/12 line? These look very tempting, but is there some catch, other than the price?
>>11521401the snow cat is gay
if you think lady jaye is hotter than scarlett, cover girl, or jinx, you're gay
the sunbow cartoon was gay
and a tent is still a gay tent no matter what you call it

the RAH cartoon was fun and had some well written moments but I'm not gonna pretend the writing wasn't goofy as hell. The original two miniseries basically had the mindset of "make sure the action scenes look good and it's not so retarded that mom and dad will change the channel."
6 days left, still not fully funding at the most basic level. At this point it's would surprise me if it starts losing backers since none of the tiers are unlocked. they also forgot to include a classic style canopy like the HISS tank got. Lack of a gooner bait fig, and overall just way too damn big. This was a fail for the Joes.

Ooo, I do. What
>>11521565 says is true, they are proper 1:12. They do work with Hasbro and SHF Indiana Jones, though. I like them, but they have a few issues. They can be a bit fiddly to equip, as they, like their 1:6 counterparts, need a bit of assembly. The military ones use the 1:6 style one piece head and neck, so unless you get one of their samurai or sports bodies, or find another donor neck, you won't be doing any off brand head swaps.
