At SDCC, Jada hinted they may not fully commit to the Street Fighter Alpha line—mainly because Storm Collectibles is releasing the same characters. Unlike bigger companies, Jada can’t afford to split the market. With only 5–6 figure releases per year, completing the full Alpha roster could take years, and only if sales are strong.

Jada earned fan loyalty by delivering true 1/12 scale figures and completing the SF2 line. Storm, on the other hand, ignored scale issues until competition forced them to adjust. They didn’t listen—they reacted.

This is why our buying decisions matter. Supporting Jada isn’t just about getting a figure—it’s about investing in a company that listens. If people keep buying from Storm instead, Jada may walk away from Alpha entirely.

So if you have to choose between an Alpha Ryu from Jada or Storm, think long-term. One company listened from the start. The other only changed when it had no choice.

Btw, what was shown at the SDCC from Jada are all prototypes. They confirmed their next line was already Alpha way beforehand, but probably they were forced to show what they got in a hurry due to Storm Arena. The actual product will obviously be better.

Jada Mega Man is still pretty good if you want to just display with other Jada Mega Man figures, or if you want to do a display with Jakks Mario and Sonic figures.

The issue is the whole dome helmet is suppose to be clear. Some figures however will have the back part covered. Either this is because it's impossible to create the red glow effect within his helmet, or because the way it's drawn with a blue outline around it gives it the impression it's the edges of a back cover.

I tend to agree. Yes, the engineering is far more dated on the Sota/ Toybiz era stuff, but a lot of the time (aside from most of the women's head sculpt) the sculpts had a lot more character to them. They didn't feel like they had 100% perfectly mirrored symmetry on both sides like the digital sculpts for modern figures do. It just gives them a sterile look. Just look at any Toybiz Marvel Legends figure compared to Hasbro figures. All of Hasbro's figures look like weird boxy androids that usually have terrible anatomy and only just recently within the past 5 ish years finally started making good heads (albeit still too large at times).

So, after the major success of Street Fighter II (which had 12 characters in its initial version and 17 in Super Street Fighter II Turbo), Capcom made two separate Street Fighter games/series:

-Street Fighter Alpha1/2/3 as low-end games for the CPS2 arcade board. The series got very popular as it ended up featuring many characters and it was easily ported to the home consoles of the time. People often do have a tendency to hate change. I was just a kid when SF3 came out and I didn't think it was weird or off-putting at all that it was an almost entirely new cast. Afterall, SF2 was that to SF1, so it followed the pattern, and so it just felt "right" that all the numbered entries had a new cast, and then side titles (Alpha, EX, etc.) just re-used characters. At least before SF4, anyway.

You know what I'd really love to see in addition to the Jada collection? A continuation of CultureFly's Scooby Doo Tiny Mights. These fucking things sold out so fast I'm frankly baffled they havent returned to stores. Tiny Mights would be a great means of releasing alot of the more obscure characters too. Considering what a slow trickle it is to get a new wave that consists of 2 Robot Masters and Mega Man in pink or something, I wouldn't say that's a very good example. The only line that's been really consistent (and wisely only makes repaints exclusives instead of hogging slots in the main waves) is Street Fighter.

It's weird thinking about it. My mom who was the age that she saw Scrappy-Doo when she was the target audience likes him and quoted him referencing the family dog. Since I grew up in the age of Scooby-Doo series being rerun constantly and reboots, I mostly know him from the TV movies and didn't watch many of the actual episodes he was in, so has a bit of a mysterious forbidden character feeling.
