I'm like 99% sure I had this Bronze Bombers figure. I'm Spanish and I think I got it during a local trip within Spain, at a random gas station or small store, so it's surprising to see they reached that far (unless I'm incredibly misremembering) now that I know that it was an all-black toyline mostly meant for black American audiences.

Colonel Courage was the last one, 93, with another version of Stalker being "good enough" for the line's death in 94.
There was also one woman a year for diversity through 87, but that was a weak year and it spooked Hasbro, so no more after Jinx.
There may have been a new Asian man every year starting with Storm Shadow 84: i.e. Quick Kick 85, Tunnel Rat 87, Budo 88, but I'm not positive.

Yes. Yla Eason 's Olmec Toys started selling action figures commercially in 1985. Supposedly her son was 3 years old at the time and expressed "I can't be a superhero because I'm not white."
There may be some memory errors in the reported timeline here. Did she have the business skill to go from her son saying that to offering to toy retailers in 11 months or less? Didn't they notice Falcon in the 1985 Secret Wars lineup?
It's also mildly surprising that she commissioned a factory to make He-Man knockoffs to fill a market for minority superheroes rather the size of Secret Wars or Super Powers, but it's not exactly WRONG to call He-Man a superhero and MotU sold way more than those other two lines.

It's called a "Legends" contract and yes Sid did sign one before passing. This allows them to insert him into games and turn him into a figure. Sid had a WWE Legends Target exclusive figure late last year and a new Basic figure came out this year. Another Sid is due soon in the Elite class.

If you want a MOTU style one he's easy to make. He'll get a Superstars figure eventually. They only do 4 or 5 wave a year.

Sometimes it's not a complete cancellation, but a way to research what would work and what wasn't working, before committing to a rollout with that same branding
Diaclone actually got a test market release in the US before transformers, but didn't sell too well, or at least Takara didn't see to see value in releasing more on their own. This likely aided in Hasbro deciding to change up how they'd market Transformers, giving them fiction and individual names and characters

I got introduced to the concept when I ask my LGS why we rarely had used TurboGraphix-16 games. Shop owner said that it BARELY got national distribution. It was flopping hard in NYC, LA, and Chicago (mostly because it came out the week after Sonic the Hedgehog came out) in the test market stage, so it basically never reached our state. No-one around here ever had one, much less the nostalgia that would drive them to pay $100+ for games.
