Gotcha, I do have a ratchet, but he's in the storage right now. So I haven't been able to fully transform him yet, but going forward, I was thinking of getting a replacement bought for Ironhide's spot. Maybe cosmo, just to fill a spot for my autobots.

Anonymous No.11529570
>>11529485
Agree. On transforming robot toys from the 80s and 90s like G1/G2 Transformers, DX Sentai robots and Brave/Eldran they look fine as the toys were already designed with them in mind and they had less surface detail. On newer toys with more complex sculpts the stickers are an eyesore, specially if they try to replicate the old-school mechanical detail of G1 Transformers decals. And it's even worse if they're reflective stickers, because in that case the toy just ends up looking like one of those jarring Chinese KOs that also had tons of random chrome.
Anonymous No.11529580
>>11529485
honestly same, if you want to take advantage of the surface detail learn to paint or find someone on instagram or something. you're already spending a ridiculous amount on stickers that will peel off
Anonymous No.11529669
>>11529485
I only intend to ever buy them for toys that already use stickers. The metallic stickers that come with Reissue Star Convoy get splotchy and I'd LIKE to think that the toyhax ones don't?
Anonymous No.11529744
>>11529431
I'd say like
Snarl (Just overall very good and solid, minus the dino hunch) >= Sludge (if your copy doesn't have terrible QC it's a great figure with great posability and a great transformation) > Grimlock (Not outstanding but just a solid figure, arguably a must have) > Slag (His backpack suuuuucks and he's annoying to transform, but otherwise poses better than grimlock and looks almost perfect) >>>>>> Swoop (Transforms in less steps than a core, dino mode looks like shit, is undersized for no reason, is really wide and awkward looking, a wet fart at the end of the 86 dinobots)

I'm curious too because I was going to just repaint the whole thing for the same reason as you. As a temp fix, I took a tooth pick and a Gundam marker/paint marker and put a dab of white paint on the tiny blemish and then rubbed it a little bit to blend it and it doesn't stand out anymore. Weirdly enough one whole side of his nose isn't painted which actually makes it look better and stand out more. I wish all sides of the nose were not painted because it just looks better imo.

They literally fuck up things on purpose so that diehard collectors will still buy the next version. Hasbro is fully aware that if they ever make a "perfect" version of a popular character like optimus or megatron, it derails their gravy train.

Fuck, look at how badly they screwed up SS Ultra Magnus's shoulders and head, despite that NEVER being an issue before, even on the cheap-as CW mold. They gotta keep bank up for their shareholders, somehow.

Few of the options feel very Shockwave-y either, which I know is the point, I just don't think speedboat, truck, supercar or even jet and especially device work for him at all.

Submarine and Airship seem solid enough, starfighter too obvious (for the love of fuck don't be starfighter) and weapon is probably a red herring.

I liked the scale and greeble from the WfC trilogy. I'm noticing as more and more SS86 toys release the more they're finally rotating the style out. I don't even want the new Seeker because it just won't aesthetically fit on the shelf, so I'm waiting for those "post mortem" releases of Siege Skywarp and ER Cracker.

I just paid my phone bill so I couldn't justify buying a Leader figure right now (I would have only bought one Contructicon had I found both of them, but wasn't expecting to), but I do want Grimlock. The thing is based on my experience with SS86 Sludge (the only SS86 Dinobot I ever found in stores), I imagine SS86 Grimlock needs SOME form of upgrades or fixes, but it seems both Nonnef and DNA options are no longer available.

My question being how does Grimlock compare to Sludge as far as needing "fixes" go?

After a day of such exploration we are tired and sweaty - hiting some pizza restraunt and when we are home - watching movies and digging throught stuff we bought when im doing "SWOOOOSHHHH" sounds with my new transformer toy while my husban is making fun of me lol

What's the best way to store figures that are more at risk from discoloring than others, like white plastic or copious amounts of white paint? There's a good chance I'm going to be downsizing my shelf space soon and some figures will have to go into storage, but I want to take steps to ensure discoloring doesn't happen.

I had my CW Superion in a box in my closet for the last few years and discovered parts of him have discolored SLIGHTLY, so I'm a bit paranoid.
